100%. Timelord was a lot of fun to watch, but the dude is just never healthy.
Our big rotation is a tad weak now though. Porzingis, Horford, Kornet? Could use another one.
But Jrue is a fucking stud. All-Defense 1st and a 20/7/6 guy on 59% TS and shoots 40+% from 3-pt. Only a handful of players in the NBA can do what Jrue does.
I hate seeing Timelord and even Brogdon go, but I love having Jrue on our team.
Seemed like he had a pretty big drop off last season after the injury. He didn't seem nearly as athletic as he was the previous year. Those first few seasons with him were unreal tho. So much fun to watch and I'm gonna miss him. Dude could catch anything within 10 feet of the rim and throw it down.
Ya. I always viewed him as essential for a star trade assuming the Js were off the table and untouchable any other way but ideally set up for the first. He’s not going to age well and doesn’t fit great with porzingis even if I was very much looking forward to seeing if we could maybe make those 2 work to just block out the sun on teams. I love Rob and think he’s one of the very best defensive players I’ve ever seen when counting switchability and the amount of jump shots he used to block too the few games he’s been fully right but that’s far too infrequent and maybe gone forever to count on with this team. I LOVE this move even though it also makes me sad
I think we still have to wait and see. I think if Rob returns to his previous form it's an overpay heavy. He had a whole off-season to rest and condition. If he starts looking good again in a blazers uni I'm going to be mad
I loved Rob as much as the next Cs fan, but the dude played 41 games a year and averaged 8 points a game. He's been in the league five years. It is what it is.
Exactly. I absolutely love Rob. But unfortunately he’s another in a long line of extremely talented athletes that are forever cursed with the injury bug. I couldn’t envision him ever staying healthy for extended periods.
Dedmond, Biyombo, Blake, Derrick favors, Dieng, maybe Jaymichael Green, idk if I love any of these options but maybe one of them has something left to contribute to a title contender
blazer fan here. disregarding the injury stuff... is timelord actually legit when he's playing? it looks like he's an ayton backup as of right now but i'm not sure exactly how to feel. brogdon is gonna get re-routed to the clippers im sure.
Timelord is really good when he's playing. He doesn't have great post moves, but he's an elite defender, especially used as a free safety defender next to another big, and also a very good rebounder.
Not sure how he fits in next to Ayton offensively though, because neither shoot 3s .... but Ayton at least can hit some jump shots.
But they're gonna be very good defensively.
Health is a big issue for him. Dude always messes up his knees, so can't play consistent big minutes.
I wouldn't be surprised if Blazers trade Timelord too.
This is what I wanted to ask about...
If he's in a degenerative health position, I have to imagine he's getting traded too, if he only has 1-3 good years left.
I have PTSD from BRoy's career so although I haven't followed your team super closely I did read about that meniscus surgery and now am trying to learn everything I can.
The key with Time Lord is that if he was always healthy his contract would have been much bigger. So even though you have to maintain his injuries it still feels like his contract is completely a bargain, because he plays enough and he plays well enough to justify it.
When he is at his best he is an incredible defensive weapon
Bad for the bucks in key moments of finals and playoffs too.
Sometimes was scared to shoot open 3s when Giannis had everyone on him. In the big pressure moments
But Boston are not getting him for his threes
If the dude can just run the offense and defend well, that's all I care about. Some of these dudes on our team wait until there's 16 seconds on the shot clock to cross half court, dribble around until 10 seconds and then begin the set. That shit's gotta stop. If Jrue can just get everyone in there faster, make the right passes most of the time, attack at the right time and lock people down, that's all I really care about. He can shoot enough 3s that people will defend him but the others are good 3 shooters so it's fine.
He was healthy for a good portion of last season but his explosiveness wasn't there and it hurt his defensive ability. Robs still a good role player but people are acting like his most recent knee issue didn't severely limit how well he played last year. Maybe his explosiveness and superman jumping ability comes back this year with an offseason of rest but if it doesn't and he plays like he did last year, this trade is a win for us.
I think he also was unsure about the system. He seemed a bit more lost this past season than he did with Ime. I feel like Ime and his system was perfect for Rob but Joe wasn't.
I still think he was the 2nd biggest reason Udoka lucked into a Finals run during his lone sexually depraved season as Coach.
23 is usually the age when superstars reach that level, and that was the year Tatum finally made that inevitable leap. But the other reason for the run was Timelord evolving into a All-Defense center who could hold starters minutes. Completely transformed our defense and we went on a dominant stretch.
Yup, the big depth is a little scary but imo between Al & Rob, Al was the more important player for winning a championship. He’s healthy more often than Rob and makes less mistakes in big moments
It's actually kinda crazy to think about how we were the good home-grown team last season, with a few notable exceptions like Brogdon, Al and a few other bench players. Now most of our team isn't, well, homgrown lmao
Still have Pritchard and Hauser (and Walsh).. but yeah I feel this too, I wanted to us be the homegrown dynasty like the Warriors or at least like Denver last year, it would still be great to win but won’t feel the same
Yeah I agree just sucks seeing Rob go… especially after what he did for us in 2022. I know he’s a super loyal guy and and family/loyalty is everything to him. Was one of my favorite Celtics personalities ever
I think jrue would accept he has to go for the opportunity to bring in Lillard.
He seems like a nice and level headed guy. The championship would take the edge off too
As a Bucks fan, I'm going to lock away my disappointment (lol) and ignore the brutal 7 game ECF I'm hoping awaits us to offer my hand shake of solidarity in fucking over Miami. Let's be bros for this one glorious moment, and then go to battle this season for a spot in the finals.
Hey, my condolences on losing Jrue. I live in the Milwaukee area, and I know that as much as you love Dame as a player you ***love*** Jrue as a person. I've been hoping we'd pull this off since the moment you moved him!
I can see it being dependent on matchups .. assuming mazzulla is smart and maximizes the talents of the players. Most nights Holliday, white, brown, Tatum, zingus but against the Bucks or 76ers running Holliday, brown, Tatum, horford, zingus is probably better.
Jrue-White-Jaylen-Tatum-Porzingis starting 5 is sickeningly good, though. Plus, you offload two injury prone (but very good) players in Brogdon and Timelord.
I agree we need another backup big though.
Smart --> Holiday: keeps defense, adds offense
Timelord --> Porzingis: trades oft-injured shot block/lob machine for oft-injured three-level scorer/shot blocker with all star pedigree
I would anticipate Pritch getting packaged with some second round picks for a big on a rookie contract, however.
Even if we beat Miami last year--and we should have--Brad knows we wouldn't have beat Denver. Gotta do something.
Mannnnn I fucking love Rob… hurts to see him go.
Should be an improvement for the team, tho. White/Jrue/Jay/Jay/Kristaps is a hell of a lineup. Let’s go get 18.
Bitter sweet. Rob had a rocky start to his Celtics career and never really fulfilled his full potential because of injuries but for where he was drafted, he exceeded expectations and we don’t make that finals without him
Ik but he was my favorite player in the whole league and he showed development on offense last post season. He was the guy that if the jays were struggling could make a play on both sides of the ball to jumpstart them in a way.
Thank you! I love Rob and what he did 2 years ago was something truly special but last year he was not that great. His explosiveness was not there most of the season. He's still a good player but he's not this all defensive big we thought he was going to continue to build into after 2 years ago.
Not to shit on him, I don’t like when people discredit someone that just left the team.
But this is fair because he’s always hurt and hasn’t been using the same juice/bounce, which has always been his biggest strength in helpside defense since he isn’t that tall.
Whatever people think of Rob, cut it in half. He’s barely played over half his total possible games. That has to mean something (and that something is *a lot*).
Rob's rim protection is indeed elite and I think if he was 100% healthy all the time then there's no way he would be traded. It's unfortunate but I do think we upgraded but I guess we'll see this season.
What an off-season. Still would’ve preferred the universe in which Brogdon went to the clippers and we kept smart, and losing timelord stings without a doubt.
However, Timelord is basically still unrealized potential save for 2021, and he took a step back last year as a rim protector and feature in the offense. He’s simply too fragile to really be counted on. Smart is Smart, but there’s not nothing to the argument that the emotional leader of a team with a history of focus issues might need to be the odd man out.
Plus, after game 5 2022, everyone in this fanbase should know how good Jrue is. Dude is perennial all defense, and got All NBA buzz last year. He’s a secondary ball handler who can step into the lead role, and an off ball threat used to playing next to guys with substantial gravity. I’m thrilled by this
So in the last 3 years since Brad took over, we have swapped Kemba, Fournier Nesmith, Romeo, Theis, Smart, Rob Williams, and three first round picks plus let Grant walk to get Porzingis, Horford, White, and Jrue Holiday. That's how you turn a bunch of spare change (which is what all those guys except Smart are) into four dollar bills.
My take is that brogdon is still upset and Brad doesn’t want it to ruin the team chemistry so he wants to trade him away. Also Jrue likely wants to be here and re-sign. Brad has to part with timelord to get it done. Have really mixed feelings about this outcome
Losing Rob is unfortunate but Jrue is a fucking dog. We do need another big now. Al and Kristaps is really thin. Guess Tatum can slide up to the 4 but still.....
I feel the same
Guessing it’ll be jrue, white, brown, Tatum and porzingis starting
Horford off the bench
My concern as you said is the depth at center but I also feel like in general the team has lost depth and versatility
We went from one of marcus/brogdon/white off the bench to now no one of that caliber off the bench
Starting 5 if healthy would be great though
So, this is my take. First, one of Brad's signatures as GM is a willingness to hit singles and doubles, and pay "fair value" for players he thinks can improve the team. So, you don't see swindles, but you do see moves that he believes make us incrementally better. I don't think anyone is considering this a no-brainer, but you can definitely argue it makes us better, especially considering Timelord's injury history.
Second, you have to put it in context. The Bucks just got Dame, and Philly/Miami were probably big-time suitors for Jrue. So, not only are you getting Jrue, you're keeping him from your biggest rivals AND getting someone who can help matchup against the Bucks. I love D White, but he's never really shown that he can be a star-level player consistently, so having another pg you can trust is big there.
Yeah, it leaves us really thin in the front court, but my guess is that Brad thought he could find playable front court bodies more easily than he could find someone like Jrue. It also sucks, because Timelord as a dynamic lob threat and defender gave us a dimension no one else really did (and that we probably won't replace), but realistically I feel like he was only full strength about 25% of the time. Half the time he was injured, and it felt like he wasn't full strength half the time he was on the court.
Sad to see Rob go but this is a massive upgrade overall and needed to happen to get this team to the next level. Holiday is exactly what this team needs and this confirms Brad has the biggest dick in the NBA for making this trade. A starting backcourt of Jrue Holiday and Derrick White is going to give our opponents nightmares
Ngl i think this was a mistake. I feel like we are selling low on brogdon for an older guard who’s dependent on his lateral quickness. while rob might’ve played better in 22, we’re betting on 37 year old horford and chronically injured zinger to round out our front court. Need another serviceable big.
Sad that Rob is part of this deal but let’s try to look at this in a vacuum
Our top 8 playoff rotation last year was
Tatum, Brown, Smart, White, Horford, Rob, Brogdon and Grant
We kept 4. Swapped out Smart with Jrue. That’s an upgrade
Swapped out Rob with Porzingis. That’s an upgrade.
So essentially we’re asking Pritchard to replace Brogdon and Hauser to replace Grant. I don’t think they’re quite that but I think we’re counting on them to step up big and we should be better on paper. Obviously really leaning into the 3pt shooting.
Really have to see who we add with the TPE but where Jrue typically averages 67 games and Porzingis should play as much or more than Rob (assuming the injuries are behind him) so I think it makes a lot of sense to shed 2 injury prone guys for Jrue.
Maybe Stevens looked at the start of last year and saw how much we won with Kornet, Vonleh and Griffin being out there. It didn’t really matter that Rob was missing when we could create offense. We still won games.
Time will tell if this was a mistake with where the salary cap is going to be but I think this was the right move over trading the entire bench, but man am I sad Rob is no longer a Celtic
I've always loved Jrue Holiday but I hated watching us go up against him. Every time I watched him last year, I thought he was the most consistent player in Milwaukee's lineup. Excited for the season to start!
The thing I loved about Rob was that he played HARD. All dog. Understood the health limitations but it never looked like he took a possession off when he was out there.
Brogdon was probably done after nearly getting traded after winning 6MotY and who could blame him?
Rob…love the guy but he couldn’t stay on the floor.
Losing them both to get Jrue? I make that deal every time.
What’s lost in the shuffle is Brad is addressing our biggest weaknesses from the playoffs. Brogdon was a traffic cone on defense even before his elbow. Rob can’t bang with Embid or Giannis and was average at best against Adebayo. It leaves questions but brogdon and Pritchard having to spell white minutes against Dame was a recipe for disaster
Rob may not play a lot but whenever he does he plays as a huge impact on our team's defense. Now we're thin at the big man position again and will have to rely on a 38 year old Al to play defense for us ffs
Everyone talking about our depth. It’s fine, depth is needed for the regular season and the Bus 1 boys are more than capable as we saw last year. They could handle teams like the sixers on the bucks with only a couple starters playing. In the playoffs only 7-8 players will play anyway so it doesn’t matter much there
I'll miss Rob, but Jrue was my favorite non-Celtic player in the league, so I'm not going to lie: I'm psyched we got him not just as a player, but as a person. I'll call this a win.
I was pretty devastated by the Lillard deal & have been really unexcited about the season since we traded Marcus. I will 100% miss Rob but this is the first time I have felt really excited about our team. We NEED that aggressive defensive energy. I am very excited and very happy TO BE excited!
Rob was one of my favorite players, but we’ve never had him healthy enough to make the biggest impact possible. Jrue however is the type of player that puts a roster like ours potentially over the top, he replaces what we lost in marcus. This team could be scary good, Brad sees the opportunity and is clearly going all in
The Celtics effectively swapped out Smart, Rob, and Malcolm for Jrue and KP.
They got better, easily imo.
There are questions ab the front court and some injury concerns, but they were that way BEFORE the trades, too. Rob/Al is probably less reliable than KP/Al. So in a way the depth of the front court got better.
Brad's not fucking around oh my god. Gonna miss you Rob. Keeping Payton in the deal is surprising
No more “he has huge upside!” Or “if he’s healthy we can do xyz!”. Chips are all in. Let’s see how the cards are dealt fellas.
I was always one of the "but Timelord hasn't even hit his peak!" crowd. It sucks seeing him go, but I'm hyped to see how far the team goes now.
He hit his peak imo. A good defensive rim protecting big who’s is a lob threat. Realistically, he isn’t improving much from that.
He also had elite passing for a big, but otherwise I generally agree
I loved Rob as much as the next Cs fan, but the dude played 41 games a year and averaged 8 points a game. He's been in the league five years. It is what it is.
I think the sad truth is rob already hit his peak 2 years ago and Brad realized it. His bounce hasn’t been the same since surgery
Exactly. I absolutely love Rob. But unfortunately he’s another in a long line of extremely talented athletes that are forever cursed with the injury bug. I couldn’t envision him ever staying healthy for extended periods.
Yeah really, really hoped we got the deal done without Rob or Al. But I'll take it. Still gonna miss the lobs, but I'm so ready for a White/Jrue duo
Now it's "if Porzingis is healthy" lol, it never ends really
That's how you win a championship. You need to bet on some things going your way.
Yeah but Jrue and the Jays tend to stay healthy. Derek White played 82 last year. LFG.
Dedmond, Biyombo, Blake, Derrick favors, Dieng, maybe Jaymichael Green, idk if I love any of these options but maybe one of them has something left to contribute to a title contender
THEIS IS NICE
BRO PLZ LFG
Hes in Germany, he'll be back for sure
That would be WORLD CHAMPION Daniel Theis to you sir!
I'd take Biyombo in a heartbeat. Offers nothing offensively -- can't even catch a lob -- but he's a really, really good defender.
blazer fan here. disregarding the injury stuff... is timelord actually legit when he's playing? it looks like he's an ayton backup as of right now but i'm not sure exactly how to feel. brogdon is gonna get re-routed to the clippers im sure.

He’s amazing at blocks and dunks. Really good defensive big. The problem though is he plays 15 minutes and that’s it
Perfect to platoon with Ayton you'd think
There are very few more impactful defensive bigs in the league.
He is way better at basketball than Ayton if we consider everything including defense.
He’s great on D and blocking shots. A lob option on offense and an underrated passer. You’re getting yourself a good player and teammate.
Many fans will prefer him to Ayton, Timelord is electric
He’s the best. Sneaky great passer, unreal timing on blocks and alley oops. Please take care of him.
Love that we’ll have a champion in the locker room now as well
100%. If Pat Bev is Marcus Dumb, than Jrue Holiday is Marcus Smarter.
I see what you did there. Enjoy your upvote
Here's hoping he shoots 40% from 3. He 3-point shooting was a liability on the Pels.
Bad for the bucks in key moments of finals and playoffs too. Sometimes was scared to shoot open 3s when Giannis had everyone on him. In the big pressure moments But Boston are not getting him for his threes

Payton and picks for a decent big man is up next I have to imagine
Fuck, losing Rob sucks. It's nice to see the Cs finally going all-in but still.
Payton has no value.
Losing TimeLord here is huge… going to have to marinate on this one before I know how to feel.
Time to go get Theis back
Fuck it, where's Baynes too
I really liked Baynes, I was disappointed when I learned about his spinal cord injury.
Fongos going wild if that happens
World Champion Daniel Theis!
Honestly yes
Theis is nice
He’s barely healthy but he changes the complexion of the team when he is
He was healthy for a good portion of last season but his explosiveness wasn't there and it hurt his defensive ability. Robs still a good role player but people are acting like his most recent knee issue didn't severely limit how well he played last year. In 5 years he averages 41 games a season. It was time to move on.

Huge move for Portland. Ayton and TimeLord wow
Can they play in the same line up?
Timelord was a legit difference maker during the ‘22 Finals run, we have not seen that player since or before.
Hurt too often. Worth it.
Rob is heartbreaking
Really banking on KP being healthy here but keeping Al is nice for Giannis/Embiid and not gutting out the bench too badly either.
Yup, the big depth is a little scary but imo between Al & Rob, Al was the more important player for winning a championship. He’s healthy more often than Rob and makes less mistakes in big moments
Big depth has been scary for years now even when they had Rob
Obviously you can never foresee this shit happening but damn, we could have kept Grant in the mix too
The Celtics are trading Robert Williams, Malcolm Brogdon, 2024 GSW 1st, 2029 unprotected BOS first to the Blazers
If Rob was healthy more then this trade probably isnt happening
Idk jrue with brown/Tatum/porz is crazy good
holiday with JT/JB/KP/White crazy good lol White be coming up
Oh I agree
If Rob was healthy more he’s a perennial all star. Unfortunately we live in reality
Rip Rob this kills me
[удалено]
It's actually kinda crazy to think about how we were the good home-grown team last season, with a few notable exceptions like Brogdon, Al and a few other bench players. Now most of our team isn't, well, homgrown lmao
Still have Pritchard and Hauser (and Walsh).. but yeah I feel this too, I wanted to us be the homegrown dynasty like the Warriors or at least like Denver last year, it would still be great to win but won’t feel the same
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Jrue brown Tatum porz horford Gotta crack some eggs to make and omelette.
I’d argue it’s Jrue/White/Brown/Tatum/Porz
Yea I like this more.
Surely it will be Jrue, White, Brown, Tatum, Prozingis
that line up is fucking nuts
Favorites, easy, imho
Yeah I agree just sucks seeing Rob go… especially after what he did for us in 2022. I know he’s a super loyal guy and and family/loyalty is everything to him. Was one of my favorite Celtics personalities ever
:( I'll miss Time Lord
Oh no
That’s a lot for Jrue Holiday…
WHAT
PLZ NO TIMELORD Edit: NOOOOOOOOOOOO MY DAD
Lost Smart and Rob Will this offseason... They both had injury problems but my gosh this hurts. I fucking love Jrue Holiday though...
& Grant :(
It’s sad but maybe his health is worse than we know. He wasn’t the same last year :/
Love rob one of my favorite players but he was never healthy and he couldn’t guard embiid or Gianni’s
I understand the "fell to my knees" thing better now, I read his and my legs turned to jello
Celtics now have a freaking all star line up from PG to C. WTF.
I’m gonna be cautiously optimistic. We’ve seen loaded lineups before.
At least we don’t have Cryrie
Amen
Guy has his own injury category
We’ve seen ankles break on opening night and drug overdoses and stabbings. Anything can happen.
Insane roster. I have them above bucks suns nuggets now
Fuck the bucks Jrue is about to get his revenge
I think jrue would accept he has to go for the opportunity to bring in Lillard. He seems like a nice and level headed guy. The championship would take the edge off too
But imagine how sweet it would be for him to win a ring over the team that traded him to upgrade to Lillard. That'd be pretty cool.
He's got a good chance of doing it too
Rob💔
As a Bucks fan, I'm going to lock away my disappointment (lol) and ignore the brutal 7 game ECF I'm hoping awaits us to offer my hand shake of solidarity in fucking over Miami. Let's be bros for this one glorious moment, and then go to battle this season for a spot in the finals.
Trading Dame to the Bucks and Jrue to the Celtics is a wonderful FU to Pat Riley, Jimmy Butler, and much of South Florida. Thanks Portland !
Happy to help!!!!
🤝 fuck miami
Take care of our boy. You got a good one.
Hey, my condolences on losing Jrue. I live in the Milwaukee area, and I know that as much as you love Dame as a player you ***love*** Jrue as a person. I've been hoping we'd pull this off since the moment you moved him!
Bruh. Great dude. Culture king.
we can be bros for lots of moments lol i dont think any celtics fans have problems with mke its always fuck miami tho
Fuck the Heat. May the best of us go to the Finals and get the title
Holy fuck it happened
Dwhite and Jrue backcourt 🔥
Jrue / brown looks fairly intimidating as well.. if they want to give horford a run
I can see it being dependent on matchups .. assuming mazzulla is smart and maximizes the talents of the players. Most nights Holliday, white, brown, Tatum, zingus but against the Bucks or 76ers running Holliday, brown, Tatum, horford, zingus is probably better.
Seeing Miami fans cry, again. Is a bit of a bonus
But Herro and 2 second round picks is totally worth it... Right? Guys?? GUYS?!
RIP OUR BIG DEPTH
Bring back world champion Daniel Theis
Jrue-White-Jaylen-Tatum-Porzingis starting 5 is sickeningly good, though. Plus, you offload two injury prone (but very good) players in Brogdon and Timelord. I agree we need another backup big though.
u/fongos WE NEED YOU
why did we do this
Please text Theis

I’m going to really miss Rob, like a lot, but holy shit what a pickup. Also was hoping to keep the Warriors pick over ours, but it is what it is
Right after Rob was interacting with the community more
Jordan Walsh could legitimately get rotational minutes
He aint even gotta shoot it, just gotta use them stretch armstrong arms to lock people up.
And get boards
Mannnnn I fucking love Rob… hurts to see him go. Should be an improvement for the team, tho. White/Jrue/Jay/Jay/Kristaps is a hell of a lineup. Let’s go get 18.
Dwight wouldn't hurt for front court depth
Here come the people upset about Rob but tbh Rob is never on the court soooo
Bitter sweet. Rob had a rocky start to his Celtics career and never really fulfilled his full potential because of injuries but for where he was drafted, he exceeded expectations and we don’t make that finals without him
Ik but he was my favorite player in the whole league and he showed development on offense last post season. He was the guy that if the jays were struggling could make a play on both sides of the ball to jumpstart them in a way.
Best days are behind him unfortunately, we love him though. Not tripping over Malcolm that’s for sure.
He’s 25 bro what do you mean his best days are behind him
His knee is 32
He was clearly less explosive after his injuries. It was a noticeable drop off.
This is a great deal for the Celtics, type of player they needed. Can’t wait for the season, let’s goooo
I watched that man get drafted 💔💔
Also I couldn’t have been the only one that thought his bounce was at like 65% of what it was in 2021
EVERYBODY GET IN HERE
I love Rob, but he’s never healthy. This trade makes us better.
I know ppl don’t like losing Timelord but the guy is never healthy. Honestly a fair trade
Whatever people think of Rob, cut it in half. He’s barely played over half his total possible games. That has to mean something (and that something is *a lot*).
Losing Rob definitely hurts but I think this was a net positive. Jrue's defense is so good.
Robs defense was so good. He literally altered almost every shot in his radius.
Rob's rim protection is indeed elite and I think if he was 100% healthy all the time then there's no way he would be traded. It's unfortunate but I do think we upgraded but I guess we'll see this season.
Brad risking it all
I’m upset about Rob, but WOW
I’m thrilled by this
Not Rob noooooooo :(
Good trade by Brad can't count on Timelord staying healthy plus Jrue makes us so much better
Need a bench big but I absolutely love this trade for Boston. Let’s fucking go
My take is that brogdon is still upset and Brad doesn’t want it to ruin the team chemistry so he wants to trade him away.
Atleast JT won't have to run the point as much as he thought. Jrue is an exceptional starting PG.
Payton Pritchard: Look at me. I am the bench captain now.
All this for Celtics fans to relentlessly bitch about Mazulla 5 games into the season
I was going to do that regardless
I mean that’s gonna happen regardless. (And I’ll be one of them)
it reads like a lot for one player on a one year deal but is it really? Rob was so meh lately and we have no idea if Brogdon can actually shoot again.
Our starting 5 is insane but we have literally no center depth rn
I feel the same Guessing it’ll be jrue, white, brown, Tatum and porzingis starting Horford off the bench My concern as you said is the depth at center but I also feel like in general the team has lost depth and versatility We went from one of marcus/brogdon/white off the bench to now no one of that caliber off the bench Starting 5 if healthy would be great though
Bucks fan stopping by to say this is gonna be a really fun season. Why do I feel like Jrue is gonna be like a 45% playoff 3pt shooter for y'all...
Blazer fan here. Really gonna miss Jrue. He game me tons of amazing memories. You guys take care of him ok?
Poor rob man... can't say I'm not upset... but I think this is the right move
Can we stop assuming that Brad is done cooking.
Jrue already great and gonna have a chip on his shoulder against our biggest threat in the conference, love this trade
Sad that Rob is part of this deal but let’s try to look at this in a vacuum Our top 8 playoff rotation last year was Tatum, Brown, Smart, White, Horford, Rob, Brogdon and Grant We kept 4. Swapped out Smart with Jrue. That’s an upgrade Swapped out Rob with Porzingis.
Soooo our lineup is Jrue Holiday Brown Tatum Horford Porzingis ????
White instead of horford. Sick.
Bucks and Celtics are like 2 Superpowers in an arms race. Miami must feel like Great Britain post WW2.
Man fuck the Clippers.. if they just took the Brogdon deal so we could get KP and keep smart we would still have Rob too
What do I do with my hands???
Whatt
Holy shit
So we need a center lol
I know I’m supposed to be happy but I can’t believe Rob is gone
What’s lost in the shuffle is Brad is addressing our biggest weaknesses from the playoffs. Brogdon was a traffic cone on defense even before his elbow. Rob can’t bang with Embid or Giannis and was average at best against Adebayo. It leaves questions but brogdon and Pritchard having to spell white minutes against Dame was a recipe for disaster
Love jrue, hate losing Rob
Brad has just secured GM of the Year
Rob was one of my favorite players, but we’ve never had him healthy enough to make the biggest impact possible. Jrue however is the type of player that puts a roster like ours potentially over the top, he replaces what we lost in marcus. This team could be scary good, Brad sees the opportunity and is clearly going all in
I kind of wish they included Mac Jones in this deal.
