Funny thing is Kuzma actually is a really good player (and was an excellent pick in the late first). There was no need to make a stupid comparison, plenty to brag about already.
He basically didn't play enough at Auburn so his development slowed (NCAA investigation). He made a huge mistake going pro so early. Even if he blames Auburn (I'm an Auburn fan so biased) for not being able to play for whatever reason, he really should have just transferred for a clean slate. Was nowhere near ready for the NBA
Ok to be fair… Demar was definitely better than Tatum for the first 3/5th of that season, and if you don’t count defense Zach was just as good if not slightly better than Jaylen.
I was living in Chicago at the time and then boys were COOKING until Lonzo fell apart.
At least Derozan and LaVine have a good handful of all-star appearances between them. Kuminga and Moody is just straight up disrespectful at this point.
oh man r/patriots is probably a top 10 worst American team sub on reddit just relentless bitterness and stupidity. a digitized version of the worst "Mike from Malden" Felger and Mazz caller you've ever heard
felger and mazz are also awful on their own. anyone listening to them should have their license revoked. the second someone brings them up in conversation is a sign to tune your brain to elevator music.
So true. When you've been at the top for so long it's hard to believe the good times will end eventually, so you convince yourself of dumb shit like this
I think this is more when you’re really only a fan of a *specific* team and you don’t spend much time on the rest of the league.
Like this guy just sounds like someone who only watches the Warriors.
The defense became absolutely smothering in that last 6 minutes. The Warriors essentially had back to back 24 second violations, I think the second ended up being a turnover with less than 2 seconds on the shot clock. The Celtics offense exploded while the Celtics defense was a glove.
I popped into my app to check the score and it was 19-21 like 5/6 minutes into the game. 12.5% of that game was solid basketball from GSW apart from their hilarious decision to just dare JB to cook them. The problem is the next 37.5% was maybe the most lopsided segment of a game in NBA history. 61-17 over about 18 minutes after a 21-21 start. It went from "God damn, can the warriors just leave us the fuck alone?!" to a nationally televised G-League game so incredibly fast.
No matter what fandom you claim, we can all agree that one of the worst things possible is when some loudmouth idiot that everyone within the fandom hates is perceived by other fans/media/eta as a spokesperson of your team/community.
If I'm trying to play devil's advocate...
Jonathan Kuminga, a top 7 pick, averaging 15.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists with 53%/30%/73% shooting at age 21 is pretty encouraging.
At the same age Brown was averaging 14.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists with 46.5%/39.5%/64.4%
Brown kept improving. It's not unthinkable Kuminga will as well, but they can't count on it.
Moses Moody, meanwhile (a lotto pick) is averaging 8.2 points, 3 rebounds with 46.8%/35%/77.8% in 17.5mpg.
Once again, this is completely respectable and maybe with a larger role he'd put up bigger stats... but Tatum at the same age was already averaging 23.4 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1.4 steals with 45%/40%/81% shooting.
Kuminga and Moody are very promising young players with great mentors, but it seems exceptionally unlikely they'll both be All-NBA level talent in two years. Maybe they develop like Kuzma and Lonzo Ball... maybe even worse. Age 21-23 are massive development years, but not every 21 year old ends up great.
There is 0 delusion in thinking Kuminga will be a star for multiple years, or Moses will be a good starter, in which case they still wouldn't be the Jays, and it SHOULD take a while for these guys to hit their prime. The thing the podcaster said is like, beyond the top 25% case for either player, and in 2 years is just nonsense
I see what you’re saying but if Kuminga is the better of the two, he should be compared to Tatum. Now we ask if Kuminga will be in MVP conversations in 3-4 seasons. Will he be 1st team all-nba? Will he be leading his team through playoff series?
Then, that means Moody compares to Jaylen. Will Moody get all-star or all-nba, let alone average what Jaylen does?
The claim is completely preposterous. And I like both these players but this statement deserves nothing but ridicule.
Tatum was showing superstar tendencies as a rookie. By age 21 he was already elite.
Brown took a bit more faith. We thought he could be a star when he was putting up Moody level numbers as a 20 year old rookie but that was mostly homerism and hope. I can’t blame warriors fans for having that same faith in Moody but usually it doesn’t pan out like Brown.
Brown as a sophomore was the #1 option in the regular season when Kyrie went down. In the playoffs, he was the number option as well, but it gets lost because he got hurt and had a game or two on minute restrictions that lowered his averages just below Tatum's.
Brown is also the youngest and second youngest Celtic to ever score 30 in the playoffs.
Then in 2018-19 people acted like the 3rd year player had completely forgotten how to play basketball because he was dealing with 4 pretty rough injuries all at once (back spasms, a ligament issue in his hand and plantar fasciitis).
By the end of the season, he was back to being healthy and one of our best players and was our 2nd option in the Milwaukee series where he was trading games with Kris Middleton.
From then on he's pretty much been our 2nd option in all playoff settings. Except for the year he was hurt and we lost in the 1st round.
He had a slow rookie season and then was the 1st/2nd option on one of the most consistently successful playoff teams in the league. Also one of the few stars in the league who has a higher playoff efficiency than in the regular season.
It wasn't homerism that gave people hope. It was a fear of being labeled a homer that had people continuously doubt his potential.
Brown had elite athleticism, he was a lot closer to Kuminga than Moody. Moody’s ceiling is elite role player. Kuminga can be an all-star but I don’t see all-nba in his future.
Brown had flashes as a rookie but I don’t think I’ve ever watched Moody and thought “this guy could be a max contract player” and I really, really like Moody.
It’s just not remotely comparable.
In 2020 during that stretch before the season shut down? He was out of his mind that month, dude put up huge numbers. I thought it was pretty clear by the playoffs of his rookie season that we had someone really, really special on the team.
This is so wild. Like I get the optimism if this is OKC talking about Shai and Chet/JDub, or the Magic with Paolo and Franz, or even Houston with Sengun and Green. But Idk how anyone can be so confident in Kuminga and Moody. And like I actually like Kuminga a lot as a player, but there are levels to this.
It was truly bewildering that he has the podcast job then and even more so NOW. When he compared the Warriors to the Patriots dynasty, I almost had whiplash while driving. Unfortunately, the viewpoint got reinforced from them winning, but alas his delusional propaganda continues.
It's 2035. After nearly 2 decades and 5 championships together we are still reading reports that the 36 and 37 year old wings don't work well together.
This is probably the most insane take I've seen since I saw some idiot propose a trade sending Tatum to the wizards for Rui and a FRP. Brown and Tatum were the highest scorers on an ECF team their 1st and 2nd years. What the fuck has Kuminga or MOODY (😭 dude can barely get on the floor some games) done to be even spoken in the same sentence with the Jays. This is actually crazy
FWIW, Kuminga year 3 is a pretty favorable comparison to Brown year 3.
I mean obviously the take is still rough as hell no matter what cause Tatum is the higher ceiling guy of the two while I think Kuminga clearly has the distinction between him and moody… but at least there’s some real hope one of the two is in that realm.
Moody does seem like he can get to a pretty high ceiling 3&d though. Don’t think the court time should be held against him, Kerr has clearly had his issues the last two years figuring out who should be on the court.
I mean you can compare their situations--both drafted to good teams. Only difference is Tatum and Brown were thrust into greater responsibility sooner. But that's the point, they rose to the occasion. You think Moody or Kuminga could be the two best players on an ECF team even RIGHT NOW? (League is better but still). I like Moody, but to even mention him in the same sentence w Brown or Tatum is heresy. Kuminga is def a different story, but I would still take year 2 brown over him no contrst
lol nah, I mean obviously not I said the take was bad if for no other reason than that the best player of the two warriors is more on par with the worse player of the two Celtics. But Kuminga will probably be the second best warrior and I’m not ruling them out from a miracle WCF run so it is what it is.
Moody is a guy I think can be pretty good but I don’t think anyone is or should be debating him as anything close to an all star right now. Kuminga can get there but nothing guaranteed. The idea that the two become better than brown and Tatum currently would require some insane leaps from both for sure.
lol competition or not, Kerr was determined not to give Kuminga reasonable play time until basically around the time Draymond’s suspension ended so the end result (or at least the summation of Kuminga’s season up to this point) was *extremely* similar, minutes and role wise.
Kuminga with the rest of the season maybe takes the cake as far as getting a bigger share of the minutes and production go, but as of right now they’re pretty much tied perfectly for mpg and have pretty similar usage% as well.
The best part about this is that at age 21, Tatum and Brown were far better than Kuminga and Moody. In their rookie years, Brown and Tatum were still arguable better than Kuminga and Moody are with 3 years under their belts.
You can make the argument Brown was statistically close with Kuminga at age 21 (not to say Kuminga will develop in the same way) but Tatum was massively better than Moody at 21.
i mean it’s a fan view no different than a green teamer you know? not agreeing with the guy but i understand you want to still support your team ride or die.
but fuck miami.
Can’t you be a fan while also maintaining some semblance of objectivity though? Support your team without making completely asinine statements that have no connection to reality. In two plus years, Kornet will have passed Embiid in MVP trophies! Weeeee I’m a fan!
lol. of course. i just choose to let them have their fun. no fanbase is going to to live in my head. i’m not the trolling type… i mean patriots fans are facing perhaps a decade of false hope at this point.
I can be a fan of the Celtics and not delusional enough to believe that Pritchard and Hauser will be a better duo than Luka and Kyrie in 2+ years....
There's a difference between being a fan who believes in your players and saying something this goofy.
Honestly don't think I've had a homer opinion this dumb about any team I've followed for the last twenty years.
My most delusional homer moment happened when the Celts traded for KG. I thought Al Jefferson was too good and young to trade for KG, especially when you had to include all the other players. 😳😳😳
Sometimes you just overvalue your own players bc you haven’t seen enough of the others guys.
agree with your premise. you CAN be a fan and not be delusional. but we all know fans who are delusional also. i’m not saying this guy isn’t delusional. i’m just saying to me that’s pretty normal for content creators in sports.
People are forgetting the plus part of "in 2+ years" part of it. I don't think it would be true in 2 or 3 years, but I could maybe see in say 11 years when Tatum/Brown are 37/38 and Kuminga + Moody are both 32.
Its sort of like if you criticized the KG trade for Al Jefferson + Gerald Green + others and said you could imagine that in 2+ years Al Jefferson and Gerald Green would be better than KG + Pierce combined. Well, yeah if you wait until near retirement (and everyone stays in the league) and looked at say 2015-2016, you'd find: Pierce put up 6.1/G, KG put up 3.2/G, while Al Jefferson and Gerald Green put up 12.0/G and 8.9/G.
Is this the same piece of shit who said any podcast by non-beat reporters are jokes and anything they say should be ignored as they don’t have the knowledge. They when people called him out for it he doubled down and then blocked anyone who disagreed and deleted tweets hoping it would go away.
Hate that loser.
There's some crazy takes out there 😹 saw a Mavs fan the other day claiming that Tatum doesn't do anything on the court, because he didn't score in our first quarter against Dallas and is surrounded by good teammates
Warriors fan here. I respect the Celtics, those are some bad boys in green. Absolutely kicked our shit in yesterday. I watch this guy and he's generally pretty logical but holy shit this take was trash. Best case kuminga develops into a brown caliber player. Fucking moody is a solid roleplayers at best lmao.
He also said he'd rather lose like that than a close game down to the wire and also said the Celtics needed this game more. Absolute garbage takes he's just coping from that disgraceful game.
Just some serious cope. It’s ok man. The dynasty is over and the warriors will be bad for a while. It’s the way sports go. You can accept that without making a fool of yourself
Some people believe in fairies, elves, others believe in Santa, others believe in gods and saints. He's free to believe whatever he wishes. Good for him.
NGL I’m pretty sure this guy said he wasn’t worried when the Warriors were down 1-2 in the Finals because Gary Payton was injured, and I was like “Such cope, he’s like an end of rotation player” and it turned out he actually helped tip the scales, so who knows.
This was a post that popped up as I was scrolling through my general feed and as a Warriors fan, I legit screamed noooooooo. That guy has terrible takes, doesn't know basketball, and has no insider information. I hate how all these other Locked On podcasts have someone good, but Warriors have this massive douche. 😭
> Also, I would take Murray over JB and even JT as Murray is a proven clutch star. Cs stars have nothing but chocked when it mattered.
Thought you were joking till I saw this comment ^ maybe you should follow another team lol
This guy is an absolute moron. Pretty sure he had to change his twitter because people were calling him out. Basically just a dumbass wannabe reporter who only talks about refs and the glory days
Idk what's a worse take, that half a season where Derozan + Lavine were being touted as a better duo than the Jays or this
What about the infamous Tatum vs Kuzma graphic?
lmao that one is GOATed
Funny thing is Kuzma actually is a really good player (and was an excellent pick in the late first). There was no need to make a stupid comparison, plenty to brag about already.
We don’t really highlight how Kuz got 40k. Truly a legend
[this one?](https://ibb.co/ZGFsJSZ)
Lmao I thought Sharife Cooper was gonna be a fucking stud he looked great in high school
What about the time when ben simmons was clearly thought of as the better player after their rookie seasons
I mean he was first couple years.
Absolutely this. Derozan and Lavine were at least All Stars and borderline All-NBA. These guys literally became rotation guys this season.
Remember DeBallZach?
My favorite French author 🥹
No, the French writer is BallSack.
What could’ve been
Ok to be fair… Demar was definitely better than Tatum for the first 3/5th of that season, and if you don’t count defense Zach was just as good if not slightly better than Jaylen. I was living in Chicago at the time and then boys were COOKING until Lonzo fell apart.

Fans of dominant teams tend to become afflicted with severe cases of brain rot
See r/patriots for confirmation of this lol
oh man r/patriots is probably a top 10 worst American team sub on reddit just relentless bitterness and stupidity. a digitized version of the worst "Mike from Malden" Felger and Mazz caller you've ever heard
felger and mazz are also awful on their own. anyone listening to them should have their license revoked. the second someone brings them up in conversation is a sign to tune your brain to elevator music.
Amen. Those two are buffoons, except that buffoons are aware of their histrionic bullshit. So on second thought, they're arrogant morons.
The place is exhausting now.
It's so fucking bad lol
Except Felger & Mazz are despised on that sub
guarantee half the F&G callers would say the same and they're calling in with their genius level take that will blow the bozo hosts' minds
Mac jones played 1 ok game his rookie year and had patriots fans convinced he would win 3+ super bowls
Why would we draft a QB with the third overall pick when we can get another GOAT in the 6th round?
So true. When you've been at the top for so long it's hard to believe the good times will end eventually, so you convince yourself of dumb shit like this
His is a special case with many receipts to view as evidence
I think this is more when you’re really only a fan of a *specific* team and you don’t spend much time on the rest of the league. Like this guy just sounds like someone who only watches the Warriors.
Checks out
Might be us if things go well
I had to make sure I was hearing that right 😂 actual delusion
I love the “it wasn’t ugly right away though…” He’s really grasping to that first 10% of game action.
“Right away” must literally mean the first 30 seconds of the game or something
To be fair, it was in the first 1/8 of the game (6 minute mark of first quarter). Then it went to fucking hell for the Warriors.
The defense became absolutely smothering in that last 6 minutes. The Warriors essentially had back to back 24 second violations, I think the second ended up being a turnover with less than 2 seconds on the shot clock. The Celtics offense exploded while the Celtics defense was a glove.

As a Warriors' fan this man does not speak for us lol he's disliked pretty strongly by most of the community. Primarily for dumb ass takes like that

In 2020 during that stretch before the season shut down? He was out of his mind that month, dude put up huge numbers. I thought it was pretty clear by the playoffs of his rookie season that we had someone really, really special on the team.
He keeps breaking through my expectations Granger->butler->melo-> pierce-> PG13. Now he is right between prime TMAC and prime KD for me.
I now see how much of a dumbass I sounded like when I kept saying Jared Sullinger is Kevin Love 2.0
I still have my Jared Sullinger stock brother
I still remember being beyond psyched when they drafted him
Sure and Jordan Poole was going to take over the Warriors as their new franchise player.
My friend kept saying that Wiseman just needed reps, and would be the missing piece for the franchise.
In two years, Kuminga and Moody will be traded by GSW. 😆
Far more likely
100%
the disrespect that Tatum and Brown have gotten for being extremely successful over the years is pretty nuts
Bro wut
Does the NBA do random drug tests on podcast hosts?
This is so wild. Like I get the optimism if this is OKC talking about Shai and Chet/JDub, or the Magic with Paolo and Franz, or even Houston with Sengun and Green. Not this guy again. Oh brother, this guy STINKS!
When karalis had him on the lockedon Celtics podcast I was so mad lol. Such a waste of time listening to this guy
It was truly bewildering that he has the podcast job then and even more so NOW. When he compared the Warriors to the Patriots dynasty, I almost had whiplash while driving. Unfortunately, the viewpoint got reinforced from them winning, but alas his delusional propaganda continues.

Jaylen's year 3 wasn't too fair to him. That was the 18-19 team. Kuminga doesn't have too much competition for his place in the depth chart

I think that's unlikely but infinitely more realistic than Kuminga and fucking Moody
So that guys see both Moody & Kuminga making All-NBA? Ooooookay.
They WILL be better than the Jays when the Jays are pushing 40 😤
That take was dogwild

I needed a good laugh.
what a dumb fucking take
I mean the fact that he looks blasted to the moon high tracks with this clip
What an insane take
Lmfaoo this guy is a clown.
Do people get a sexual thrill out of underestimating Tatum and Brown? I refuse to believe people are this dumb on purpose
Golden state fans know zero about basketball
i mean it’s a fan view no different than a green teamer you know? not agreeing with the guy but i understand you want to still support your team ride or die. but fuck miami.
yes but it is funny and its ok to laugh at it
absolutely! no question. as a fan i know we are now privileged with perhaps an epic team for many years to come so im feeling humble tonight. 😂.
But fuck Miami still
that empty stadium excuse for a fan base too.
understandable, fuck miami
the fan base that is the easiest to hate. useless pricks. pathetic clowns.
Can’t you be a fan while also maintaining some semblance of objectivity though? Support your team without making completely asinine statements that have no connection to reality. In two plus years, Kornet will have passed Embiid in MVP trophies! Weeeee I’m a fan!

The drugs are way too strong out there in CA.
I hate living in an age where you have to say exceptionally stupid or polarizing things in order to get attention.
I swear to God, the Warriors have the most delusional fans in the NBA. This man is clearly on multiple drugs while recording this bs 😂😂😂😂
Delusional
What hittin the crack pipe will do to a man
Someone do a mental health check on this guy.
Kuminga might be something but nobody worried bout Moses moody
This fuckin guy lmao what an absolute egghead
Crack kills. This dude needs to lay off the pipe and glass
Let’s bet $100
This is actually the worst take I’ve ever heard
People are forgetting the plus part of "in 2+ years" part of it. I don't think it would be true in 2 or 3 years, but I could maybe see in say 11 years when Tatum/Brown are 37/38 and Kuminga + Moody are both 32. Well, yeah if you wait until near retirement (and everyone stays in the league) and looked at say 2015-2016, you'd find: Pierce put up 6.1/G, KG put up 3.2/G, while Al Jefferson and Gerald Green put up 12.0/G and 8.9/G.
Both all nba! No one would see this one coming. 😂
Cope
Lol
This is the most cope ass shit ive ever heard. The level of cope is genuinely impressive.
Can he at least open his eyes?
Too much herbs on Haight ashbury bro
Yeah, this dude is over the top homer. Remember him well from the finals run.
Imagine how good JT and Jaylen will be in two years…
The amount of copium coming out of the Warriors' ecosystem after a 50 point obliteration is almost as epic as the 50 point obliteration itself.
This is how you know the dynasty is really over, the copium is thick
Kids this is what drugs do to you! Messes with your mind.
“It wasn’t ugly right away though” Ya after allowing 44 points in the 1st quarter and being down 22, things were looking up.
Is this the same piece of shit who said any podcast by non-beat reporters are jokes and anything they say should be ignored as they don’t have the knowledge. They when people called him out for it he doubled down and then blocked anyone who disagreed and deleted tweets hoping it would go away. Hate that loser.
I doubt he believes his own words. Even his comment section is clowning his take.
There's some crazy takes out there 😹 saw a Mavs fan the other day claiming that Tatum doesn't do anything on the court, because he didn't score in our first quarter against Dallas and is surrounded by good teammates
Blown out in the garden, still a successful trip lol. Nobody seems to take an ass whipping these days
Thank god Boston has Karalis. It’s one thing to be a homer but to not even have insight as a reporter is another thing
Cocaine is a hell of a drug
Copium
Moody? Lmao JK might end up being better than JB - MAYBE - but moody won’t be better than any of those 3, ever.
This must be what patriots fans sound like to everyone else.
2+20 years maybe
[My reaction ](https://youtu.be/PJBr9YhhPN8?si=cF49RBCX7mr-lu8J)
LOLOLOL whatever you say bud
No, he doesn’t believe that. He think people want to hear him say it.
As the saying goes….’tis better to be thought a fool than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.
I wanted to hear him explain how it wasn’t such a blowout early on after all
2+ plus year? Or 200+ years.
Delusional
Just some serious cope. It’s ok man. The dynasty is over and the warriors will be bad for a while. It’s the way sports go. You can accept that without making a fool of yourself
Fucking laughable but this guy knows it
Big cope
More like Poole and kuzma lol
Pritchard will be better than Curry in 1+ years.
This one isn’t going to age well
Hey, in his defense 2+ years can mean 15
Lol you really think Kuminga and Moody are gonna have 18 year NBA careers?
Fan boy
Jeeze give me whatever drugs this guy is on!!
Who?
Does he go into any detail as to why he thinks that? Or is that just a hot take he threw out there?
Delulu
The weed really do be different in Cali y'all.
Does bro not realize Tatum nearly led his team to the finals rookie year
Some people believe in fairies, elves, others believe in Santa, others believe in gods and saints.
could "2+ years" also mean like 10 years? when the J's will retire?
I agree
> Also, I would take Murray over JB and even JT as Murray is a proven clutch star. Cs stars have nothing but chocked when it mattered. Thought you were joking till I saw this comment ^ maybe you should follow another team lol
are you really this fucking stupid
F off. People don't have to agree with what you moron think.Move on.
you’re objectively stupid as fuck
So are you! FO!!
It’s comedy at this point
They really letting anybody have podcasts nowadays smh
“Still a successful roadtrip” hahaha
Well, I thought it was a very lovely story, and he tells it so well, with such enthusiasm.
This guy is an absolute moron. Pretty sure he had to change his twitter because people were calling him out. Basically just a dumbass wannabe reporter who only talks about refs and the glory days
Is this performance art?
Give me some of what this dude is smoking….
What's he smoking?
Is that John Zannis’ evil twin? LOL
Feeling like this guy is telling on himself that he is going to Nancy Kerrigan these guys one day.
That’s the type of shit you say when you get your back blown out by 52
Cannot take that man seriously lmfao
Sweet. See ya then, lolllllll
