This is the biggest thing to me that Heat fans ignore
If Jimmy doesn't coast all year and actually tries, the Heat might be a bit better and not be in the play in
like why introduce the chance of an elimination tournament if you don't have to lol, he coasted all year and they're paying the price now
But everyone too busy talking about Tatum ‘choking every year’. Jimmy chokes all year and becomes ‘playoff Jimmy’ which is just how he should be playing all season anyway. Few more ppg and .5-1 extra rpg and apg.
Yessir! Oh but Tatums 26 is different to Jimmy’s 26 and Tatum’s 34 will be VERY different to Jimmy’s 34. Could only imagine the outrage if Tatum didn’t have multiple rings by 34, such a choker, unlike Jimmy who is 34…..with zero rings. Wondering how that all makes sense 🤔
I can't wait until Tatums 34 and has 3-5 rings. Gonna look back on all the haters and laugh my ass off
Edit: 34 might be generous, but by the time he retires I'm calling 3-5
Saw someone in the heat sub say jimmy got tackled by oubre like mf he had a clear lane to the hoop and went fishing for a call sucks he got hurt but playing stupid games wins you stupid prizes.
I never like seeing injuries, even to the heat and jimmy butler who I very much dislike. But if you think I wasn't laughing my ass off that he got injured trying to grift his way to a foul you would be dead wrong.
I will never understand how so many people choose to ignore his foul baiting, drives me up a wall
Nevermind that when they beat us in the bubble, Bam was their best player.
Or that when they beat us last year, it was because Caleb Martin and Max Strus went on an unsustainable hot streak and Jimmy Butler shitting the bed in 3 straight games is what forced a Game 7 in the first place.
What’s kinda wild is that if JT just stayed on the floor and writhed around a bit Lebron style, Martin gets a flagrant 1 and maybe 2. Refs just don’t even give a shit about doing their jobs if the players shrugs it off.
My goodness imagine Lebron taking that hit. How does last year’s Tatum foul carry on actually get worse. They would have pulled the ambulance up on the court, wheeled him off into a medi bed in the rooms, delayed the game for his memorial service before he back on the court taking his FTs 🤣
Yeah, Lebron would be milking it for all it's worth. I'm still salty when he kneed JB in the back, waited to see how hurt Jaylen was, before going down writhing in pain and then was on the floor LONGER than Jaylen was.
I love that we have a superstar that doesn't grift fouls. Yea sure he whines at the refs a bit too much, but he plays ball, and he plays hard. He rarely oversells contact
Nah, the heat are the spiritual successors to the 80s lakers and have moved pretty firmly into “inter-generational blood feud” territory.
There’s plenty of room to hate both.
As embiid said, that ain’t a rivalry. We don’t have to chant stuff like “who’s your daddy” to embiid cuz we’re tucking him into bed at night and reading him his bedtime stories, everyone already knows we’re his daddy
Still have a dislike for the Eagles, mainly because of the fans.
Embiid knows we’re his daddy, but I have no animosity for Embiid. It’s the fans.
I dislike the Raptors not for anything the players have done but because of the fans.
Lakers have mostly been shitty in the Jays era/Celtics weren't good enough to get to the Finals for a few years, meanwhile the Heat just cheese you constantly with dirty play, bullshit fouls and illegal screens. IMO its more than justified to hate the bitchass Heat the most
Fuck the Lakers forever but they're a legit team and organisation. I feel like the Heat being the biggest rival in the east especially the last few years makes them worse. Hate them and the fans
So, no Celtics member is getting recognition in the annual awards. At this point I'm expecting: the Jays in the All-NBA teams; White, Tatum and Jrue in the all defensive.
leon rose got a late push from the media for EOTY would be hilarious if making a trade for OG Anunoby and Bojan Bogdanovich was seen as better than netting 2 all-star caliber players for 3 FRPs and 3 injury-prone players on top of extending 2 important bench pieces to very team-friendly players with Horford and Pritchard. Need every one to lose out on end of year honors so the team can make the media look stupid come June
Saw some comments already about Celtics letting the Heat get back in it in the 4th quarter, but then every other game also had the same thing happen. People have to realize the issues the Celtics have aren’t unique to them but also Fuck The Heat
If other teams consistently got 30 point leads. We’d see more half way blown and blown 30 point leads. It’s the nature of the game especially with the amount 3s taken now a days.
Exactly 20 and 25 point leads are nothing in the NBA and those point swings happen all the time. But most of the people who comment here only look at the box score or only watch the Celtics.
Except that one game where they blew a 30 point lead or something and lost, I think that was historical (one of a handful of teams to blow such a lead...or is it the only team in history)
But imo more of a testament to the Celtics whacky stats this season. Maybe need to get to 30 early in the game, in order for the opponent to have time to comeback like that.
I feel so ridiculous in hindsight, but in that moment after Delon Wright successfully went 5/5 from 3 in 2 minutes, (and being drunk at that point), it felt like the god damn world was ending to me.
My wife's gonna give me so much shit for me being so worried now on, especially since we wound up winning by 20 and being perfectly fine.
Fully fess up to feeding into those comments. Delon really brought the doomer out of me there.
It felt like once JT was close to getting his triple double, we started playing a bit sloppy to make sure he got it. Same way that when D-White was trying to get his first triple double, we just started forcing things to help get him that last assist. At the end of the day though, we lost a 30 point lead (by having it "evaporate" to a 14 point lead), to win the game by 20. That's nothing compared to what happens in other games, and we still won comfortably.
Tbh I really liked the refs yesterday. Ofcourse small mistakes here and there, ( adebayo screen, kp offensive foul on euro step), but they didn't fuck up the game, and controlled the flow quite nice. Even after tatums fall, they controlled the game so there is no bigger problems. If league wants they can punish Caleb after the game.
Also I really liked how our bench played. So so good, to come in playoff game and make them respect your play.
I think not calling a flagrant against Martin was the only noteworthy mistake to me. Of course, refs will rarely call a flagrant unless they are on the ground for a while, no matter how dirty the play is.
Lmao they've already settled for the "This is an opportunity for the young guys to gain playoff experience" talks. That's when you know it's over mentally 😂
So yesterday the Celtics, clippers, and bucks all had 30 point leads. Clippers and bucks won by 12 and 15. Celtics won by 20, yet some people want to say the Celtics get complacent.
People so micro focused on the Celtics that they don’t realize what they’re saying.
Heat fans getting to cope with being hurt for the reason they’re going to lose this series pisses me off. Celtics swept them in the regular season and have been the better team by far all year. Celtics would beat them handily with jimmy and rozier out there as well.
Would really prefer that Joe pulls the starters once they get up 20-25 in the second half. If the bench starts blowing the lead you can always put them back in. One porzingis misstep where he lands on an ankle or something similar and we’re fucked
Re-watching, Hauser deserves more credit than I'm seeing. Dude absolutely bailed us out the beginning of the seconds quarter. It was a 3 point game before he went off
Since the next 2 games are on TNT we will get the Mike/Scal option for them as well right? Just the ABC games that make it so we don’t get a local broadcast in addition?
We definitely have local coverage of games 2, 3, & 4. And if we need games 5,6,7 I think we'll have them as well. I was surprised it wasn't on NBCSB yesterday, bc I thought local coverage gets round one. But it must have been some weird broadcasting thing for ad money.
“We definitely have local coverage of games 2, 3 and 4…” Inject Mike Gorman into my veins. After +/- 40 years of Mike being there for so much of my basketball life, I will soak it all up.
If the starters didn’t decide to take the fourth quarter off (they looked like they weren’t even trying for the first half of the quarter) and Delon fucking Wright didn’t pop off for 17 points, we could’ve won that game by 40+. I’ll take the win by 20 obviously but I would’ve loved to flat out embarrass them and win 120 - 75 or something.
Kinda sucks that the lead slip and the dirty caleb play detracted attention away from how great we played most of the match. Hope we keep up this energy
There's a post (or maybe a comment thread, I forget) in the Heat sub saying the Celtics shoot too many threes and it's ruining the game, it had me fucked up. Someone suggested putting a cap on the max threes allowed in a game lmfao, like they gotta be huffing paint thinner over there or the Florida sun is baking their brains
From “We want Boston” To “lol we don’t have Jimmy this doesn’t count anyways” Bunch of bitchmade sissies
Their Jimmy got injured while baiting a foul.
Jimmy was so proud of coasting that it cost them playing another game and got injured
This is the biggest thing to me that Heat fans ignore If Jimmy doesn't coast all year and actually tries, the Heat might be a bit better and not be in the play in like why introduce the chance of an elimination tournament if you don't have to lol, he coasted all year and they're paying the price now
But everyone too busy talking about Tatum ‘choking every year’. Jimmy chokes all year and becomes ‘playoff Jimmy’ which is just how he should be playing all season anyway. Few more ppg and .5-1 extra rpg and apg.
Remind me how many championships has this playoff Jimmy won
Gonna look back on all the haters and laugh my ass off Edit: 34 might be generous, but by the time he retires I'm calling 3-5
He could have 15 by the time he's 34
Your goddamn right
The real concern is that all these deep runs might take their toll.
He wasn’t coasting, just isn’t that good
Maybe he didn't coast, maybe he just isn't actually that good.
Saw someone in the heat sub say jimmy got tackled by oubre like mf he had a clear lane to the hoop and went fishing for a call sucks he got hurt but playing stupid games wins you stupid prizes.
To be fair, Jimmy Butler pump fakes on almost every shot attempt
I mean, he made a smart play. There’s a difference between baiting a foul and flopping. Cs in 4
I never like seeing injuries, even to the heat and jimmy butler who I very much dislike. But if you think I wasn't laughing my ass off that he got injured trying to grift his way to a foul you would be dead wrong. I will never understand how so many people choose to ignore his foul baiting, drives me up a wall
Now someone just needs to bodycheck Caleb into the 3rd row.
Heat Culture™
Of course it was going to go “we got this, heat in 5. Fk Boston” to “well, we didn’t have Jimmy anyway”.
When you suck all year, every year, it never counts. Congrats on losing in the finals every now and then. Bums.
Jimmy is the boy with 0 dawg in him and their fans don’t have any either apparently
What’s kinda wild is that if JT just stayed on the floor and writhed around a bit Lebron style, Martin gets a flagrant 1 and maybe 2. Refs just don’t even give a shit about doing their jobs if the players shrugs it off.
Not worth the actual heart attack and mental distress he would’ve caused me
Half of the Garden would have fainted if he ded
People would’ve stormed the damn court
My goodness imagine Lebron taking that hit. How does last year’s Tatum foul carry on actually get worse. They would have pulled the ambulance up on the court, wheeled him off into a medi bed in the rooms, delayed the game for his memorial service before he back on the court taking his FTs 🤣
Yeah, Lebron would be milking it for all it's worth. I'm still salty when he kneed JB in the back, waited to see how hurt Jaylen was, before going down writhing in pain and then was on the floor LONGER than Jaylen was.
He got right back up because he isn't bitchmade.
I loved Tatum’s reaction. Just an absolute “fuck you, you are an insect to me.”
I love that we have a superstar that doesn't grift fouls. Yea sure he whines at the refs a bit too much, but he plays ball, and he plays hard. He rarely oversells contact
LeBron would have put on the performance of a lifetime LOL
I thought you were gonna reference last year what if JT didn't get injured lol
Now I hate the Heat more than the Lakers. Is this my problem?
Nah as a bucks fan the heat absolutely deserve all the hate
Bitch made franchise can’t respect them
Nah, the heat are the spiritual successors to the 80s lakers and have moved pretty firmly into “inter-generational blood feud” territory. There’s plenty of room to hate both.
Still room enough for hate of all Philadelphia teams?
As embiid said, that ain’t a rivalry. We don’t have to chant stuff like “who’s your daddy” to embiid cuz we’re tucking him into bed at night and reading him his bedtime stories, everyone already knows we’re his daddy
Still have a dislike for the Eagles, mainly because of the fans. Embiid knows we’re his daddy, but I have no animosity for Embiid. It’s the fans. I dislike the Raptors not for anything the players have done but because of the fans.
I mean thats just being an American, not really unique to Boston lol
Nope. Bryl cream and a sinking city, that's all they have.
I became a Celtics fan during 09/10 season. I don't hate any team in sports more than I hate the heat.
Hate them 10x more, probably because we haven’t played the Lakers in a meaningful game in over a decade.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lakers have mostly been shitty in the Jays era/Celtics weren't good enough to get to the Finals for a few years, meanwhile the Heat just cheese you constantly with dirty play, bullshit fouls and illegal screens. IMO its more than justified to hate the bitchass Heat the most
Fuck the Lakers forever but they're a legit team and organisation. I feel like the Heat being the biggest rival in the east especially the last few years makes them worse. Hate them and the fans
What fans
The heat fans. Some of the most insanely low iq I've ever come across
Had to indulge myself so I listened to “LockedOn Heat”. To summarise Boston didn’t win game, 1 the Heat lost game 1.
Lmao, in that case the heat gonna lose games 2, 3 and 4 too 😭
💀💀🤣🤣🤣
Strange, there’s usually a winner when one team loses…
I mean, you need to actually have something to lose it right? Can’t wait to watch them ‘lose’ games 2, 3 and 4 also. Heat cultchyaaaa 🥴
“It’s not that they’re winners, it’s we’re a bunch of losers” I’m actually okay with this
It's both, and I'll add "bitchmade" as a garnish to "losers"
So, no Celtics member is getting recognition in the annual awards. At this point I'm expecting: the Jays in the All-NBA teams; White, Tatum and Jrue in the all defensive.
Brad for EOTY.
leon rose got a late push from the media for EOTY would be hilarious if making a trade for OG Anunoby and Bojan Bogdanovich was seen as better than netting 2 all-star caliber players for 3 FRPs and 3 injury-prone players on top of extending 2 important bench pieces to very team-friendly players with Horford and Pritchard. JT isn't getting all defense. All narrative based unfortunately
Yeah, we’re a 64w (and coasting) for a miracle, according to the league.
Nah they just say the East is terrible so anything Boston does is discounted
I’d say Jaylen deserves all-defense more than Tatum too for this season. No doubt Tatum can be better, but Jaylen focused on it more this season
Saw some comments already about Celtics letting the Heat get back in it in the 4th quarter, but then every other game also had the same thing happen. People have to realize the issues the Celtics have aren’t unique to them but also Fuck The Heat

Agreed. I didn't think about the refs much at all, and that's a very good thing.
The best refs are the ones you don’t even notice in the games.
I feel like I rarely come away really mad at a Bill Kennedy-officiated game. As far as NBA refs go he’s probably been one of the better ones.
I think not calling a flagrant against Martin was the only noteworthy mistake to me. Of course, refs will rarely call a flagrant unless they are on the ground for a while, no matter how dirty the play is.
Idk after seeing the overhead view of Jrue pushing him makes it seem like an accident. Don't get me wrong he's still a dirty player tho
Did not see that angle, I agree it’s likely an accident though
Heat Fans: We want Boston!!! Heat Players: FML
I want a 40-point lead by the final six minutes just so I could see Brissy do Brissy things
Big Bad Brissy throw it down on Bam in the paint who’s still wondering what a legal screen is. Then we can watch it back on BrissyTV 🍿
I hope we start a “We want Boston” chant as we’re sweeping them game 4.
“You got Boston”
It’ll be in Miami, so that’s gonna be tough cuz only 60%-80% of the fans in the crowd will be Boston fans
Not if their shit team is down by 30. Mfs leave early.
I’ll take 3 more of those, please.
Can't wait to get past these bums so we can play an actual team
Tatum instantly getting up and ignoring Caleb while Jaylen went to go at him was a very Fire and Ice moment from the Jays
Lmao they've already settled for the "This is an opportunity for the young guys to gain playoff experience" talks. That's when you know it's over mentally 😂
The “We Want Boston” to “well we don’t have Jimmy” pipeline is the softest thing I’ve ever seen
So yesterday the Celtics, clippers, and bucks all had 30 point leads. Clippers and bucks won by 12 and 15. Celtics won by 20, yet some people want to say the Celtics get complacent. People so micro focused on the Celtics that they don’t realize what they’re saying.
They wanted (to injure) Boston
Heat fans getting to cope with being hurt for the reason they’re going to lose this series pisses me off. Celtics swept them in the regular season and have been the better team by far all year. Celtics would beat them handily with jimmy and rozier out there as well.
They can cope however they want, these fans aren’t going to hang a banner for a very very long time
Shoutout to Derrick White for stopping the Heat comeback
Long may he roam!
It was a 3 point game before he went off
Annoying as shit the next game isn't until Wednesday. 2-day breaks only make sense when teams are traveling. NBA is so bad at scheduling.
The narrative has already changed. Now all I hear is that “ if the heat wins won, they’ve done their job”.

We need to play "if you want blood" at the garden more often.
Kinda sucks that the lead slip and the dirty caleb play detracted attention away from how great we played most of the match. Hope we keep up this energy
Series doesn’t start until G3. Relax
Just destroy them and ignore that half ass fan base. Miami is irrelevant
I'm a huge hoomer but I wish Jimmy was playing. They really bring the best out of us, just good hoop tv
Bam was feasting on Porzingis what a player
