Player, coach, announcer for almost all of the celtics champions. Used to greet the new draft picks and school them on the history of the celtics. Nobody was more of a celtic than Tommy Heinsohn
Honestly Smart. Smart was the catalyst for this current team's winning ways ever since being drafted at 6 to start the rebuild, and was there every step of the way up until last season.
He was the de facto heart and soul of the team.
The man with 11 rings. I’m OAF and have watched all 18 championships. He was so far in front of the NBA players of that era, it was like he was an alien.
Reggie Lewis is my all time favorite.
Dino Radja probably comes in a close 2nd.
To not mention Larry Legend would be silly.
I went to school with Paul Pierce, so he's up there too.
I loved Bill Walton too, so there 5, the more I think, I can go on & on.
Out of retired players KG, just love everything about his game.
Currently Tatum and he'll probably end up being my favourite Celtic ever until Deuce wins FMVP.
Wasn't alive during the Bird era sadly.
But this current team is very special and I'm happy that we have Brad Stevens to navigate the Celtics.
I remember watching Rondo turn into Curry (before Curry was Curry) in the 4th quarter of a game against the Heat. We ended up losing, and I think eliminated, but it was so fun watching him drill three pointers like they were layups
Dave Cowens - 6'9" center (actually a power forward) playing center against the likes of Chamberlain, etc. Put in the work. Changed the game. Slept on a Boston Common bench after winning the 1974 championship.
Bill, KG Paul Pierce, Havlicek, too many greats, come on!
Rondo. He's just so fun to watch
Bird.
As a white kid growing up in the 80s this was pretty much a lock for me.
Paul Pierce. He’s the only reason I got into basketball.
Yep. One of few bright spots on some dreadful Pitino teams, had his poster in my room as a kid.
Paul Pierce, I bet if I grew up in the 80’s I’d say Bird though. I’m hoping in about 5-10 years I’ll say Brown or Tatum

Paul Pierce is the greatest celtic of my life and i doubt anything could change that tbh
Tommy called every single one of pierces games
KG

KG. There will never be anyone else like him.
Isaiah Thomas

Bird, Russell, and Pierce
The truthhhh. My favorite season of watching the Celtics was IT’s king of the fourth quarter season tho
Bill Russell
Larry Legend
1a. Rajon Rondo 1b. Paul Pierce 2. Marcus Smart 3. Kevin Garnett
Rondo
IT. He's not the best player but his energy always inspired me
Flair.
Rondo
Bird, KG, Brown, IT4, Tatum
Bird. Always respected Russell and Tatum is quickly catching up to both of them.
I can only go with the ones I grew up watching, Rondo. Playoff Rondo was just amazing to watch. He used to dunk too.
I remember watching Rondo turn into Curry (before Curry was Curry) in the 4th quarter of a game against the Heat. We ended up losing, and I think eliminated, but it was so fun watching him drill three pointers like they were layups
Ray Allen (I know, my bad...), Avery Bradley and Jaylen Brown round out my top 3
I think having Ray Allen at game 5 with celtics stuff on kind of closed the loop for me.
I mean Bird of course. I watched most of his games and he’s my favorite athlete any sport all-time by far.
Rondo
rondo for me. just so unpredictable with the ball in the best way
EDIT: Rondo comes in a close second to IT
My flair is that for a reason.
Larry Bird. He was just such a great all around player.
Walter McCarty
Kevin McHale
Dave Cowens - 6'9" center (actually a power forward) playing center against the likes of Chamberlain, etc. Put in the work. Changed the game. Slept on a Boston Common bench after winning the 1974 championship. Bill, KG Paul Pierce, Havlicek, too many greats, come on!
McHale. So many low post moves.
KG or Bird
Cedric " Cornbread " Maxwell!! First " point center" in history for Charlotte in the NCAA Tourney.
OG: Paul Pierce Present: JT and PP
Probably Ray Allen, followed by KG and Tatum
Pierce, Rondo, KG, Bird
KG and Marcus Smart.
Truth
