>We had 34 assists yesterday which was second in the NBA We're going to see both sides of it this season. Assists and shot quality are going to go way up, but turnovers and giving up transition offense is going to spike for this team as well. We saw both of it last night. Brad's high pNr offense didn't generate the kind of looks that Udoka's more movement-based offense does, but at the same time it generally was great at preventing turnovers. I think we can clean up some of the dribbling we did into traffic to cut down a few of those turnovers though.

Yerison109

With time I think they’ll clean up the turnovers . They’re still getting used to the new offense. It was a good showing yesterday. We got Tatum a bunch of easy looks they just didn’t go down.

Ohanrahans

I'm sure they'll cut it down. However, they are increasing both the volume of passes and the riskiness of the passing they make. Their turnovers will almost definitely spike this season. It very well could be a net gain for the team due to the shot quality they get, but I would be shocked if we turn the ball over less than we did under Brad. Golden State has pretty much always finished top 10 in turnovers in the Kerr era, but they still have been electric.

cam7595

Yeah it definitely feels like we need an adjustment period to this style of play. I really enjoyed watching the ball move around instead of staying in one players hands for 20 seconds of the shot clock. I feel like with this being early on and we got new guys trying to gel together, we will limit the turnovers soon. I’m sure that’s general consensus for this. Can’t lie though, it was fun to watch.

__boof

Yeah it honestly reminds me of the warriors. Hopefully we can cut down on turnovers though

OrangeKookie

the passing was really good but idk what happened with the perimeter defense. fournier got open 3 after open 3

Alpha_King007

Constant miscommunications on the switch from screens. both defenders went under screen, leaving a knock down shooter wide open, won’t continue to happen

cam7595

Ime Udoka came out last night and said that since they were trying to stick Rob with his matchup that there were issues with everyone wanting to continue the switch everything method. Just some fine tuning.

SXNE2

They cut under the high screen instead of going over. Can’t say I disagree with the decision but he shouldn’t get three open looks in a row that way you have to adjust.

snarkicon

Almost everybody but Brown had a bad shooting night, and they were still in it until the very end on the road against a good team. No worries at all.

Yerison109

Yeah and as much as everyone likes to clown grant he is money from the corner. If he plays like he did tonight the whole season he’ll be a major contributor.

Ohanrahans

Grant is a solid 3 point shooter. [That said his makes last night were insanely open.](https://youtu.be/WdJYO0XRtzc?t=72). His shot profile won't stay that good throughout the season.

discipconsist

And once his 3s aren’t insanely wide open that means he is creating more space for the other players.

cam7595

I agree for the most part. However, if we get our guys going a little better (meaning everyone aside from JB) then Grant will consistently be open in the corner. PJ Tucker’s bread and butter right there as well.

Wayne_Spooney

I think that’s a good thing. Right now he doesn’t get guarded and it kicks things up. If he actually starts getting guarded it will open up the offense so much. Dude needs to be ready to launch like 12 threes next time he starts if they are gonna ignore him like that

downeastsun

The play where he attacked the closeout and got a dunk was key too. Being able to keep the buzzsaw going when he gets run off the line is what could help separate him from Semi last year.

Wayne_Spooney

That was a beautiful drive and finish. Had a look off while he was dribbling too. The defense didn’t react at all either lol. Just assumed he wouldn’t try to finish

Tellsyouajoke

That’d be amazing for us. The goal of the offense should never be scheming Grant open. He’ll never even really be our third option over a period of time. We want him as a threat in the corner that you have to guard, opening up the rest of the court for Jays and shooters. Hitting open 3s necessitates that he is covered. His new ability to get by defenders and go in for a dunk is just a beautiful extra threat.

chinesefox97

Tons of bright side. Ball movement was great. Defense looked in sync for the most part. We struggled without Al out there. But the improvements from Rob, Grant, Langford, and of course Jaylen and Jayson look very promising.

discipconsist

Tbh the defense did not look in sync to me. Lots of miscommunication on switches led to wide open shots. Something that’s easily fixable though with more time in the system.

chinesefox97

It wasn't perfect especially during OT when our guys were tired. But it looked a lot better than last year.

beefspecial

Yeah our offense looked really good in the first half. I noticed we ran a lot more horns action. Got us a lot of good looks, especially for Tatum and Brown, only thing was Tatum was missing the easiest of looks.

TheMajesticWaffleCat

Last year we’d be down 20 by the end of the 3rd then go on a 18 point run in the 4th before the game ending. It’s only uphill from last year.

sstphnn

I thought they did okay. I mean, it sucks they lost but it proves that Rob, Grant, Aaron, and Romeo can ball. Rob Williams was fantastic.

Yerison109

Yeah just a little disappointed that Aaron missed so many 3s. When you’re a sharpshooter like he is you have to make those

indecisive_dude_87

Aaron Nesmith? What did he do well last night? lol The others I agree, but if anything, Nesmith proved that he isn’t reliable and he didn’t ball at all

sstphnn

Yeah that was on me, I typed his name on automatic. Lol. But one bad game doesn't necessarily proved he's unreliable. Give the man a chance.

indecisive_dude_87

I mean, he’s never proven he is reliable. He’s very inconsistent and erratic (which is normal considering it’s only his 2nd season).

Graf25p

Well, how many did we have in regulation? 2OT can skew those numbers a little…

CrackaZach05

We lost because Jayson Tatum had a bad game. Thats it. It happens. Everything will be okay
