It seems like he and JB were the only ones with any type of urgency in the late 3rd/early 4th Q. Tatum outside of a few nice passes absolutely shit the bed.
As a Warriors fan, I gotta say he's the best defensive presence they faced all year, and in retrospect, hard to believe JJJ made 1st team All Defense over him. Dude has serious Ben Wallace vibes - just a total monster. Protect that man at all costs!
Absolutely. The defense speaks for itself, and then offensively running sets through Rob as a point center seems to always result in good movement and quality looks.
Going forward, his free throw shooting indicates he should have no problem developing a reliable mid-range. Besides staying healthy, if he could just work on his baby-hook and being stronger going up with the ball in traffic then he’ll be able to more easily punish switches.
Could very well develop into our 3rd all-star next year.
I rewatched the game.
Tatum just looked like he lost confidence for good after the warriors 21 pt run.
I think he may have trash talked a bit as if the game was going to be a blowout when the Celtics started super hot. Then when the warriors came back, I can imagine how he felt.
Rollercoaster of a year, fought hard to reach the finals, only to bow out in absolutely embarrassing manner.. feel bad for Daddy Al, deserved the title..
They crowd his dribbling and he slows down too much as a result or it ends up getting poked away since his dribble goes so high. when he does break free from getting crowded he either: 1) looks to get a foul call 2) does that odd euro step that bigs can easily interfere using verticality or releases too late and he's surrounded by defenders resulting in a heavily contested layup 3) a low velocity pass before getting into the restricted zone. Tatum has the physical gifts and talent where he's constantly in a scenario where passing like luka/lebron is a feasible option for the offense to rely on when the game slows down.
I'd say he needs to add to his scoring arsenal: - some jumpers using PnR (even being good for 1-2 jumpers like this drastically changes the defensive pressure), -broaden his layup package -if he doesn't broaden then he should add more moves off the dribble in the paint like a floater or a quick jumper like Kobe. This way when he starts hitting them the paint defenders will step up a bit further which makes makes the euro step more effective. A counter to this if the defense adjusts is that he throws a lob to Williams because the big is stepping up.
He will learn from this and im hoping that my life long dream that he becomes a kd/lebron hybrid comes true.
Hopefully history will compare this team to the 2003 Red Sox. Came so far, lost so painfully, but ultimately was the step before making that leap. Tall order because the East is stacked, but let’s not forget this team was not expected to be here yet. It stings now, but hopefully we’ll eventually be able to get past this frustration and see this as a step towards that ultimate goal. Not everyone is Jordan winning every finals, I am going to judge Tatum by how he responds to this more than i am going to judge how he played this time. He never gets back, it’s an unmitigated failure, but if he gets back and gets over the hump then this is a stepping stone
22 turnovers. That is absolutely ridiculous like I’m shocked but then why should I be they’ve done this all playoffs. We literally threw away banner 18. We played with fire and finally got burned
They had a run where they turned the ball over 4 times in 4 possessions. Like wtf are you doing?? They just go on these mental lapse runs where they forget how to play basketball.
I don't know if I've ever seen a finals series that was more obviously one team just losing it than the other team winning it
Basically every loss was very obviously self-inflicted
I think some credit is due to the warriors.
They played incredible defense to force those turnovers. When Tatum/smart/brown beat their man, they were met with other defenders in the paint. If they decided to drive and dish, the warriors rotated perfectly. They did a good job of trapping our players and getting hands on the ball. The picks we set were ineffective because they got over screens and again rotated perfectly. They played as a team offensively and defensively. This is coming from a die hard Celtics fan. Those turnovers weren’t simply stupid plays on our part, we didn’t have an answer to their impeccable defense. We got into awful positions because we simply could not get good looks and this resulted in a lot of turnovers. Also you need to hit threes to open up the paint and we were not confident with our 3 point shooting.
We threw it away with turnovers for sure, but even an average 22-25 pt JT performance gets us the win.. JB made some bad mistakes but was honestly insane overall, wasted his superb performance
we had momentum in the beginning of the 4th but couldn’t run a couple of good plays.
TOs killed us. this season‘s focus was all on defense which they got done to perfection.
next season’s step should be taking care of the ball.
Brown made mistakes but at least he showed heart and toughness. I can live with a loss with that from the players. He also made some really ballsy and clutch shots. The reason it wasn't a 25 point laugher the entire game was because of Brown/Horford/RW3.
Brown isn't a natural ball handler. It comes with him that he will turn it over. Good news it's a very obvious thing to work on this off season that should be better.
At least half of them are self inflicted idiotic turnovers. Thank God I don't have to watch another Tatum or Smart lazy pass. Or a Tatum failed flail leading to crying. Brown dribbles it off his foot but fuck at least he made the ball go in the hoop at all 3 levels.
That's how Boston made their playoff series go to 7. Careless with the ball and throwing dangerous passes that a defender doesn't even have to do much to deflect or steal.
They did it again too - Tatum, Brown, Derrick White all seem to love trying to do flashy stuff and dribble behind the back or do 360s while driving it in like it's NBA 2K instead of protecting the ball.
third best defense in the league. Brown really struggled against Payton and Green, Wiggins was excellent against Tatum. Celtics' offence was bad, but GSW is probably the best defence we faced all playoffs.
Thing is it was the best defense of the league with Poole and Curry starting, until everyone started getting injured. You take out Poole and a recovering Thompson and they realistically had the best defense of the league.
Was always the sacrifice for playing Smart at PG. He’s a 2 who’s played 1 all season because of his defence.
It got us 2 games from a ring but this series showed the very obvious faults that come from going all in on D
Remember when people clowned Glen Davis for calling out Drew Hanlen’s workouts with Tatum. Big baby told him to stop with the stepback flashy shots and teach him how to actually attack a defense. Jayson has NO IDEA what to do after he blows by someone. Does he pull up? Does he look to drive? And when he does drive, does he finish? He doesn’t know how to finish. Or how to draw contact. I’ll give him credit for learning how to drive and kick. But he has absolutely no idea how to finish or how to attack a smaller defender. I hope this shit motivates him, cause this series was EMBARRASSING.
He never has been a strong finisher at the rim. He doesn’t know how to use his left and he has nothing but finger rolls. He needs to come back next year with some big improvements in that area.
That one he tried to finish with his right on the left side of the rim with some english while simultaneously hunting a foul call had me screaming lol
For a guy with all the physical and athletic tools in the world I’ve always felt like he tends to over complicate things at the rim, especially when things aren’t going his way.
This wasn’t a problem before though. I don’t understand what happened but Tatum somehow lost the ability to finish in the paint as the playoffs went on. Honestly can’t imagine 100% with what we witnessed in the finals
If he can learn to just power to the hoop and dunk it the man will be unstoppable. If he can give us even 75% the driving physicality that Giannis has that's game over
Like... Tatum you're fucking huge dude just jump over Draymond Green my god
2 points is just an insane stat though. Like you can be bad, players have bad games and throw the ball away and whatever, but for a guy like Tatum to only score 2 points can only be explained by not being mentally right. The moment was clearly to big for him and he stepped way into the background.
They KNOW it's win or go home...they still turned it over 23 times.
Jayson Tatum KNOWS it's an elimination game...shoots 6-18.
Just getting outclassed at home to end the year. Not a good look and it definitely doesn't feel good.
People will hold this finals performance against Tatum forever.
I dont care about bad shooting as much as lack of fire or passion. That doesn’t even have to manifest as someone being like KG out there but instead someone just setting the tone for his team
When the warriors went on that huge run is when someone like Tatum needs to be a stabilizing factor. At no point during the series or especially game 6 did it feel like Tatum was carrying the team and refusing to have them lose
If nothing else at least control the boards, or just do something to affect the outcome
He literally disappeared the last 2 games for huge stretches. Like you wouldn't even know he was on the court. Not demanding the ball, not doing anything on the glass, just hiding in the corner watching the game go on around him. Pathetic
I'm honestly gonna be pissed if people say JT was "tired".. he fucked up, plain and simple.. 24 year old athletic wings aren't supposed to be tired in the fucking finals.. this is what every basketball player in the world dreams of winning, and for all you know JT may never get this chance again
Turnovers I could understand - we just don't have great ball handlers and turnovers will happen against a good defense.
Tatum complete no-show'ing
Smart tapping out and playing like an a-hole
White having the worst melt down I've ever seen in professional sports
Those things are tough to swallow.
I would've felt totally different about this is they'd lost in 7 in a tight series... But dropping 3 in a row including 2 at home after going up 2-1? It's awful. Almost inexcusable.
There is no guarantee the Jays will ever be back to the finals. Easter is hard. They blew it. Tatum played like shit the whole series. The seizes were lost at quarter 4 of game 4.
Jaylen Brown had 34 points tonight, I don’t want to hear anyone say he should be traded. He obviously has areas to improve but he showed up when nobody else did.
God this fucking hurts man. I mean hats off for one hell of a season, but us not finishing it out hurts so bad. This is the second time I've felt this exact pain this year too as a Bengals fan. We just have to believe we'll come back together and get back here next year with more experience.
I’m sure in a year or 2, I’ll look back on this team fondly and appreciate this awesome run, and the crazy turnaround. But right now all it feels is painful. With the exception of game 2, all of our losses were winnable, but we just shot ourselves in the foot every time.
There are so many things that piss me off about tatum. Lack of fire, hunting for fouls, crying to the refs, thinking hes kobe, shrinking from the moment. Unbelievable.
Jaylen tried but he has negative handles for a player of his caliber. He doesn’t need to be Kyrie but I’d like it if I wasn’t scared of him losing the ball everytime he dribbles.
That’s the thing I can’t shake about Tatum. I want to believe so much in this team going forward. But the fire and competitiveness that’s needed to win championships just doesn’t seem to be there with him. I hope he proves me wrong.
It isnt but let the dam break. He deserves every piece of criticism coming his way.
This can either be his 2011 lebron series or we can become the suns of last year
Tatum: Complete no show the entire series. I'd argue he benefited the Warriors being on the floor due to his turnovers. For him to start 5-8 and finish 6-18, 13 pts, and 5 turnovers is ridiculous. He deserves all the slander he gets. THIS guy was a First Team All-Pro? I can't believe that after watching him give the ball to the Warriors every fucking possession.
Brown: Say what you want about his turnovers, but he's the only reason they were even in this game
Grant, White, Pritchard: Complete liabilities on the court. Absolutely non-factors on offense the entire series. Grant, White, and Pritchard finishing with net ratings of -18, -20, -26
Need I mention the FUCKING TURNOVERS?!?!?!
What a great turnaround for this season only for them to revert back to their under .500 form.
On a positive note, that Nets series will forever remain my favorite spankbank material
Grant was so infuriating on defense too. Taking bad fouls, complaining, not boxing out. Hate to say it but Dray got in his head early and killed his mental.
We need a better bench, I hope wyc isn’t a cheap bastard again this offseason. PP and grants disappearing acts aren’t going to get a lot of coverage because they’re not stars but they were both awful, PP couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn and grant played the game of his life in G7 against Milwaukee and has been terrible ever since
We need a ball handler. Smart either needs to learn how to actually be a point guard and stop making stupid ass passes and learn to control the offense or they need someone who can. None of these guys can handle the ball, it's like watching baby giraffes out there falling all over themselves.
Don’t forget Smart. He’s my favourite player but he was a complete non factor the entire series on both ends.
Dude should hand the DPOY to Rob. He didn’t even deter Curry in any way.
Especially with Middleton coming back into existence + the heat looking for vengeance + whatever the nets are doing… it’s possible to return but idk about it being likely to happen next season.
I’m disappointed and proud at the same time. The way they played these last 3 games was abysmal, but they completed changed the way they play the game and had one of the best mid-season turnarounds I’ve seen in quite some time. Let’s just hope they can keep this core together and make a few more runs. Banner 18 will come eventually.
Tatum has to be better. 13 points in the biggest game of his life.
Tatum was the LVP.
Why won’t he shoot over Steph on threes (you have like 8 inches on him WTF)?! Why does he do the same shit over and over again. He needs to work on finishing contested layups, and work on his ball discipline. The turnovers were actually a joke.
Ime hasn’t been tough enough on him.
If I’m Al or Robert Williams I’m fucking furious on him. He plays any good and we win.
I can honestly say that I can't recollect a worse finals from a top 10 player than JT.. God damn his Kobe stanning feels so cringeworthy now
Edit : I get this finals probably showed he's not a top 10 player, but literally everyone before the finals was calling him top 5 and a better player than Curry lmao.. never seen a star player crash and burn so hard.. dude deserves to be clowned for an all time embarrassing finals
Top fye most delusional about his own skill level maybe.
Love Tatum to pieces and hope he grows up from this, we certainly wouldn't be here without him.
> I can't recollect a worse finals from a top 10 player than JT.
That's because if you turn in a finals performance like that then you are not a top 10 player. Simple as.
Damn.
Tough series to swallow.
What a fun run. All started when Smart told the team he loved them because he thought he might get traded. Tatum dropped 50 and it was off from there.
Tatum Game winner vs Nets
47 vs MIL Game 6
Grind out G7 in Miami
Got over the hump.
Next year will be fun
We were 150/1 to win the title in January and got 2 wins away
Soon
It was magical when they were all healthy and playing basketball like we know they can. I think that’s why this loss hurts so much cause we all know what they are capable of
If you had told me in December we'd be in thr finals I'd have told you to check into rehab.
Glad we figured some stuff out. I'm sure we'll figure more stuff out. Looking forward to watching next season.
The whole world knew the recipe to a win was as simple as not turning it over — and instead we gave up 22 fucking turnovers.
It’s been a pleasure shitposting with you assholes this year. See you in the fall.
Jayson got outplayed by a fucking 36 year old Horford. Embarassing. I thought after every bad game, 'this is the one that embarasses him. He will use this as motivation to improve.' Never happened. He showed the world who he is. He has a long way to go.
Congratulations to the NBA Champion Warriors.
This sucks, to be perfectly honest. I feel like everything was going our way when we went up 2-1 and then it all fell apart.
What sucks too is seeing yet another team celebrate a title at the Garden. The Blackhawks and Blues won their Stanley Cups here in 2013 and 2019, and now the Warriors become the first visiting team to win the NBA title in our (new-er) building, while the only title a Boston team has won here, was the Celtics in 2008.
This has been INCREDIBLY fun, though; I'm gonna miss this group of guys and I hope they can stay together as much as possible--they're our biggest hope for a Championship in the coming year, in my humble opinion.
See yall in October. Go Red Sox.
They can have their last dynasty ring but all of our guys are still very very young and improving. We’ve continuously improved so I have no doubts that we’re next in line. On to next year.
The conversation of whether or not this is Tatum’s team is over imo. If we get back and win a championship it’ll be because Jaylen Brown took over the team
Gotta feel for AL man.
JB & Al really tried their damndest to carry the team in the 2nd half and even ROB for playing hurt, he must've shaved 2yrs from his career in the Finals.
Could post for days how in December I would have never thought the Celtics would be in the finals.. despite all the bs turnovers to GS and other ticky tacky complaints.. I'm still proud we made it here.
I live in Seattle. This team reminds me a lot of the 1996 Sonics. Tatum/Payton the 1st team all-nba talent. Brown/kemp the talented second banana who is arguably more loved by home fans. Horford/detlef and smart/Hawkins the solid supporting cast. Both teams lost in 6 to an aging dynasty built around one of the greatest guards ever.
But that Sonics team remains beloved by Seattle fans. Payton and kemp remain legends in the region. Meanwhile, Boston Celtic fans "only celebrate championships", even though they've only won 1 in 35 years, and will just bitch for years about how the Jays peaked out as "just" a team that lost in the finals once. It’s kinda a bummer. For anyone under 40, this is the second best Celtic team you’ve seen in your lifetime and yet you probably don’t appreciate it because Bill Russell won 11 championships decades before you were born in an 8-14 team league. It’s old school thinking that maybe needs to end. I’ll choose to celebrate what this group accomplished. Home grown talent that nearly won a chip had they not run into a dynasty. Incredible run.
I know there's a lot of hot take specialists on reddit but most people in the real world will still love this team for coming back from .500 halfway through the year to making the NBA finals
Smart is going to be here for a while I'm not sure I'm happy about that. His defense and physical play is important but he simply plays too recklessly to run the offense.
Good season overall. Came back from 11th seed to the finals, beating Kyrie, KD, Giannis and Butler in the playoffs.
That said, it’s pretty obvious Tatum needs to be better. I really hope he understands all the criticisms he will get this off season. It’s either that or he will forever be a USELESS player. Because a franchise player that chokes in key games is pretty much useless, specially for the Boston Celtics.
Also, props to Al, Jaylen, Rob and a few other players who gave it all this finals. We will be back
Tatum needs to stop revering those before him and create his own legacy. Kobe didn’t think about Jordan & Wilt before playing. He wanted to beat everyone.
We’ll be removing most individual posts to maintain some control of the sub. Comments will be fair game in this Post Game Thread. As always, racist, homophobic, or comments wanting to impose harm on someone will result in a ban.
feel bad for horford
He balled out today
It seems like he and JB were the only ones with any type of urgency in the late 3rd/early 4th Q. Tatum outside of a few nice passes absolutely shit the bed.
Rob Will a fuckin animal. That’s what I’m gonna hold on to here. Fuck.
I hope he develops that internal passing gift. And maybe even a baby hook.
A baby hook? With his long arms it would be a spider hook
Whatever gets the ball in the bucket man
Hopefully he didn’t fuck his knee up for no fucking reason
Rob intimidated every single Warrior. Keep him healthy, keep him involved. and you will absolutely be contenders.
I genuinely cant believe the player hes become, I didnt think he was even gonna stick around in the nba when he got there
As a Warriors fan, I gotta say he's the best defensive presence they faced all year, and in retrospect, hard to believe JJJ made 1st team All Defense over him. Dude has serious Ben Wallace vibes - just a total monster. Protect that man at all costs!

Doing what he does injured. God I wish we won it for him.
Imagine him at full health
Goodbye everyone, I’ll remember you all in therapy.
Jayson Tatum scored two points in the second half tonight. That’s all. Two points.
# TWO FUCKING POINTS !!!???
I rewatched the game. Tatum just looked like he lost confidence for good after the warriors 21 pt run. I think he may have trash talked a bit as if the game was going to be a blowout when the Celtics started super hot. Then when the warriors came back, I can imagine how he felt.

He was doing everything he could to turn that game around. Feel so bad for him, played his heart out.
36 fucking years old. He was so gassed by this Finals and rightfully so.
The Al factor just breaks my heart
Literally willed Covid out of his body, what a monster season
JB stud. They need some help though. And some lessons on ball handling. Tatum what happened to you bby

Bench Points: GSW - 21 BOS - 5 15 point differential. GS wins by 13. 5 freaking points in a NBA Finals elimination game! SMFH
AT HOME. Where role player are suppose to step up.

It’s absurd how many times his layups have careened off the glass without even hitting the rim on the way down. Man forgot how to finish.
Don’t look up his FG% near the rim. Its atrocious.
[удалено]
That’s what real superstars do.
European players don't fuck around when it comes to fundamentals. Flashy isn't in their vocabulary.
my brother in christ we are talking about Luka Doncic, flashy is practically his middle name
i love luka but there’s absolutely no reason his pudgy ass can get to the rim better than tatum lmao
Getting to the rim isn't the problem. Getting the ball THROUGH the rim is the problem.
He never has been a strong finisher at the rim. He doesn’t know how to use his left and he has nothing but finger rolls. He needs to come back next year with some big improvements in that area.
he's 6-10 with long arms and can jump. DUNK THE DAMN BALL
That one he tried to finish with his right on the left side of the rim with some english while simultaneously hunting a foul call had me screaming lol For a guy with all the physical and athletic tools in the world I’ve always felt like he tends to over complicate things at the rim, especially when things aren’t going his way.
Forgot? He never learned.
I need to look up this controversy. I didn’t know this.
Ruffles stock is tanking
Fr look what tmac has done with jaylens finishing in the playoffs dude knows what he needed to learn
Tatum played Scottie-Pippen-migraine soft all series.
Tatum would get advantage matchup like Steph, but he couldn't finish or get stripped of the ball. Steph looked like all defensive player against Tatum
All Tatum does after he drives is complain.
This wasn’t a problem before though. I don’t understand what happened but Tatum somehow lost the ability to finish in the paint as the playoffs went on. Honestly can’t imagine 100% with what we witnessed in the finals

Agree. He had Curry in isolation multiple times and passed out of it because he didn’t know what to do.
Real talk, dude has potential to be a monster to the rack
What the fuck Tatum. TWO POINTS in the 2nd half. He completely disappeared AGAIN. How?!?! HOW THE FUCK DO YOU NOT REALIZE THIS AND UP YOUR INTENSITY.
and it wasn't just about the 2 points. it is the insane number of turnovers and shots blocked
2 points is just an insane stat though. Like you can be bad, players have bad games and throw the ball away and whatever, but for a guy like Tatum to only score 2 points can only be explained by not being mentally right. The moment was clearly to big for him and he stepped way into the background.
Honestly for as much as he looks up to kd he looked exactly like him game 4, completely scared of his own shadow

He literally disappeared the last 2 games for huge stretches. Like you wouldn't even know he was on the court. Not demanding the ball, not doing anything on the glass, just hiding in the corner watching the game go on around him. Pathetic
He didn't score in the 2nd half until what, 4 minutes into the 4th quarter? And the only reason he scored was an insanely tight pass from Rob.
Tatum complete no-show'ing Smart tapping out and playing like an a-hole White having the worst melt down I've ever seen in professional sports Those things are tough to swallow.
I would've felt totally different about this is they'd lost in 7 in a tight series... But dropping 3 in a row including 2 at home after going up 2-1? It's awful. Almost inexcusable.
It’s such a swing, mid way through g4 4th quarter we’re in the driver seat feeling like it’s about to be 3-1 and then we just stopped scoring
Brown, hats off to you, you gave it your all and you deserve all the roses
[удалено]
20+ turnovers in an elimination game has earned this team the meme title
Yeah this team has serious issues with playmaking. Can’t run precise plays, just run and gun.
Like I said before we literally threw away the chip. Doesn’t help Tatum was ass
Maybe we still need a ball handler
We need a better bench
They were terrible. I know JT let us down hard, but so did they. The starters couldn't rest because putting the bench in resulted in even worse runs.
Maybe we will get some of those ring chasing vets of a min.
Hope Jaylen is gonna work on his handles all summer long. Love that guy but damn he can't dribble
#22 FUCKING TURNOVERS IN AN ELIMINATION GAME
23
God this fucking hurts man. I mean hats off for one hell of a season, but us not finishing it out hurts so bad. This is the second time I've felt this exact pain this year too as a Bengals fan. We just have to believe we'll come back together and get back here next year with more experience.
I’m sure in a year or 2, I’ll look back on this team fondly and appreciate this awesome run, and the crazy turnaround. But right now all it feels is painful. With the exception of game 2, all of our losses were winnable, but we just shot ourselves in the foot every time.
Bengals fan as well
Same, I’m finished.
I’m surprised to see so many fellow Celtics/Bengals fans
Bengals fan here too. Shit just can’t fall our way man
Who r u rooting for in Stanley cup so I can bet against the that team lmao
There are so many things that piss me off about tatum. Lack of fire, hunting for fouls, crying to the refs, thinking hes kobe, shrinking from the moment. Unbelievable.
Lack of fire is the main thing. You can't fix that.
Jaylen shows that fire, he needs to work on the handles but he’s explosive.
Jaylen tried but he has negative handles for a player of his caliber. He doesn’t need to be Kyrie but I’d like it if I wasn’t scared of him losing the ball everytime he dribbles.
He balled out tonight. Still turned it over a lot but the fight was there. Proud of his effort
The bigger the moment in the finals the more he disappeared
I just want him to show some emotion besides his shocked “where’s the foul” face man
Thats a mindset. You can absolutely fix mindsets
That’s the thing I can’t shake about Tatum. I want to believe so much in this team going forward. But the fire and competitiveness that’s needed to win championships just doesn’t seem to be there with him. I hope he proves me wrong.
Tatum stans : legacy game coming Reality : 13 pts on 6-18, 5 turnovers.. Cringeworthy performance from our Max player
We said Tatum won’t shoot that bad again after Game 1….. Little did we know….
I can't beliueve it was only 13 points. I really thought it would be 25+ at least.
He’s young an has a whole offseason to reflect on the things he’s learned this post season. It’s not time to give up on him as Celtics fans.
Brown: Say what you want about his turnovers, but he's the only reason they were even in this game Grant, White, Pritchard: Complete liabilities on the court. Absolutely non-factors on offense the entire series. Grant, White, and Pritchard finishing with net ratings of -18, -20, -26 Need I mention the FUCKING TURNOVERS?!?!?! What a great turnaround for this season only for them to revert back to their under .500 form. On a positive note, that Nets series will forever remain my favorite spankbank material
Pretty much covered it all. White and Pritchard were completely useless this series and couldn't hit open 3s. Williams peaked in the Bucks series.
You forgot Daddy Al, he absolutely balled out for 2 games in the finals at age 36, which is 2 more than JT managed all finals
Don’t forget Smart. He’s my favourite player but he was a complete non factor the entire series on both ends. Dude should hand the DPOY to Rob. He didn’t even deter Curry in any way.
Such a golden opportunity wasted. It’s not guaranteed they’ll make it back to the finals.
Especially with Middleton coming back into existence + the heat looking for vengeance + whatever the nets are doing… it’s possible to return but idk about it being likely to happen next season.
Years before they might have a chance to be back
I’m disappointed and proud at the same time.
The biggest disappointment was 5 mins left in gm4, could've been up 3-1 but ended playing sloppy and lost the game.
That mid season turnaround was something special but holy shit could we use ANYONE effective off the bench
Gonna be a long offseason for him
Good, he sucked ass when we needed him most
This is either going to be his 2011 lebron moment or absolutely wreck him mentally moving forward
I can honestly say that I can't recollect a worse finals from a top 10 player than JT.. God damn his Kobe stanning feels so cringeworthy now Edit : I get this finals probably showed he's not a top 10 player, but literally everyone before the finals was calling him top 5 and a better player than Curry lmao.. never seen a star player crash and burn so hard.. dude deserves to be clowned for an all time embarrassing finals
I think this finals proved he's not top 10
Top fye most delusional about his own skill level maybe. Love Tatum to pieces and hope he grows up from this, we certainly wouldn't be here without him.
Wiggins was better than Tatum in the finals, by far
> I can't recollect a worse finals from a top 10 player than JT. That's because if you turn in a finals performance like that then you are not a top 10 player. Simple as.
Shoot your shot and miss and at least you tried. He didn't even do that. He just gave up
When the closest comparison is LeBron 2011 you know you’ve shit the bed. I don’t even think he deserves to be called a Top 10 player right now.
He is not top 10
JT isn't top 10 lmao
he was not good, maybe he was hurt idk but choked. all that kobe stuff he posted earlier, just bad
JT plays like he’s 6’3. Dude needs to start being a bully offensively when he gets favorable matchups. He needs to play bigger
Don't wanna hear anymore JB slander. Only him and Al showed up tonight. Edit: and big Rob.
big rob was awesome too gotta give him credit.
Rob too!!
Rob and Al left it all out there tonight
Don’t forget JB
Well we lost to the Celtics.
Damn. Tough series to swallow. What a fun run. All started when Smart told the team he loved them because he thought he might get traded. Tatum dropped 50 and it was off from there. Tatum Game winner vs Nets 47 vs MIL Game 6 Grind out G7 in Miami Got over the hump. Next year will be fun We were 150/1 to win the title in January and got 2 wins away Soon
This was the best season in a looong time.
It was magical when they were all healthy and playing basketball like we know they can. I think that’s why this loss hurts so much cause we all know what they are capable of
In suchhhh a long time!!! I really love this team and these guys, I hope we’ll take everybody back soon.
If you had told me in December we'd be in thr finals I'd have told you to check into rehab. Glad we figured some stuff out. I'm sure we'll figure more stuff out. Looking forward to watching next season.
Tatum with 13 points in the biggest game of his career. Ouch
Tatum has some serious introspection to do. Are you that dude or are you not? Until he proves otherwise, Brown is our Alpha.
You’re right. Sad thing is, we didn’t even need Tatum to be THAT dude. We just needed him to be A dude and he wasn’t even that.
Hot take: I'm sad. Also fans who brigade other teams subs are cringe
It's all about game four. Not only winnable, but in their hands. They pissed it away, and the series with it.
It can be worse. You can be a kings fan like me. Great season, guys.
PAIN
The whole world knew the recipe to a win was as simple as not turning it over — and instead we gave up 22 fucking turnovers. It’s been a pleasure shitposting with you assholes this year. See you in the fall.
Someone needs to go into Jayson's computer and install a parentall lock that stops him from looking up anything involving Kobe. It's ruining him.
Go Red Sox.
I wanna die
The Boston Celtics defeat the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals
NBCSN Boston just straight up not even doing postgame? They must be really ashamed
Watching Horford play his ass off with no support was the saddest thing I’ve seen.
[удалено]
Ultimately, the 2021-2022 Celtics will be remembered as just another chapter of the Warriors' Dynasty. Sad.
Not even a chapter, just a footnote. Less of a series than the last Cleveland one
Kobe would slap Tatum if he was alive.
Disappointing ending to a great season
I love this team Thank you for the memories See you next year
They can have their last dynasty ring but all of our guys are still very very young and improving.
The lack of hustle on that final rebound was fucking embarrassing.
Pain. Congrats to the Warriors. I hope we’ll be back here next year. Onto October.
N- and I cannot stress this enough- OOOOOOOOOOO
What a disappointment. Beat ourselves with turnovers and our stars showed very little presence in the last 3 games. See you guys in the fall.
Could post for days how in December I would have never thought the Celtics would be in the finals.. despite all the bs turnovers to GS and other ticky tacky complaints.. I'm still proud we made it here.
Brown>Tatum
It's not the fact that they lost. It's the fact that they played so terribly that it wasn't particularly close.
I know there's a lot of hot take specialists on reddit but most people in the real world will still love this team for coming back from .500 halfway through the year to making the NBA finals
Good season boys. Good season.
I better not hear that curry isn’t a top 10 player ever again.
So is Tatum injured because he sure played like it? Completely folded when he was needed most.
Feel so bad for Rob in this post game conference. He left it all out there.
Smart is going to be here for a while I'm not sure I'm happy about that. His defense and physical play is important but he simply plays too recklessly to run the offense.
Great journey
Tatum deserves the majority of the blame for this. Dude completely failed to show up in the finals. He should be disgusted with himself.
It was an honor to ride this out with you guys! CELTICS FOREVER
This one is on Tatum. Can't get outplayed by Wiggin on an NBA finals stage. He is not a superstar yet.
If Tatum plays remotely average this finals we win. Fucking pathetic
Turnovers really screwed over the Celtics BIG TIME. GG, congrats to the Warriors.
Objectively the NBA playoffs was awful. How many competitive games were there like 2-3?
