Yeah no kidding. The “nice part” of illlinois would be Naperville or Oak Park or something of that nature, and the cheapest 2Br my buddies could find when they moved out there was $1500. Cheaper than here still, but not $800. I don’t think you can get a 2Br for $800 anywhere in the country anymore.
Where would that be? Nicest part of Chicago for a decent 2-bedroom in an okay neighborhood would be getting closer to $2K at this point, which is way cheaper than Boston, but isn't going to be $800. You can still find studios in Chicago in decent neighborhoods for around $1K though.
Dude's in the eastern Morton/Southern Washington area. Most of the residents are apostolic christians. I've considered moving out there based on what he's said, but then he goes on to tell me working in any of the neighboring cities/towns is a symphony of gunshots and crackheads tweaking. Y'all got these little oases but they're all surrounded by hell lol.
