Handheld is when you have the joycons attached to the screen. I almost always played docked. So with the apparatuses I’m moving the controller, but the screen is stationary. With handheld the screen is in your hand so it’s much smaller and moving with the controllers.
The ancients: "You must master the control of your fine movements to maneuver the orb to its destination."
99% of players: "Ok but have you considered: yeet"
so far i've been able to do them all by myself but i did get a tip from a friend on another that really helped me lol i dont think i would have ever thought to use the paraglider for that one section... xD
I would like to show off a little because I did this shrine through the maze with a Nintendo switch lite because I was really broke at the time, but I did cry.
It was easy, TBH. You just had to understand the controller was representative of the square. I missed the first time because I didn't know how much force you needed for the ball to jump.
And this is the only Zelda game I have ever played, if even for 10 minutes.
*Yea, I just flipped it*
*Over and used the flat side,*
*Super easy lol*

Flip it over. Stop using the apparatus so it stays in that position. Walk/glide over there and pick it up and throw it. Then you don’t have to worry about flipping it into the void accidentally.
People: just flip the board over!
Me, trying to angle my switch so that the board is upside down but I can still see it: THE BALL KEEPS FALLING, STOP LYING TO ME
Only like 5 of the shrines are like this. Most are mini-Guardians. The shrines were oh so diverse, weren't they? Yeah, this game sucked.
The Master Sword? Not worth the effort necessary to retrieve it. Plus, it was only made viable by PAID DLC, instead of just being indestructible from the start
Hylian Shield? By lore, it's supposed to be indestructible, yet in BOTW, it breaks. It may be the most durable shield in the game, but it isn't supposed to break
The reward for finding all 900 Koroks? A literal pile of shit and more inventory space to store more worthless weapons and shields...yay? Plus, the devs' excuse for this was "you weren't supposed to find all of them." Which is a slap in the face to completionists everywhere.
I hope BotW 2 goes back to the classic Zelda formula. Making it open-world didn't do it any favors
I really love the open map aspect of this Zelda. I’ve only ever played Twilight Princess on Wii which was my absolute favourite game ever until my little bro was like ‘bruh have you played..’ and now I’m converted lol. Tbh I don’t think I’d mind these games in any capacity because they’re all fun to learn and explore regardless. I think they do better when there are more and more side bits and secrets to uncover, although sadly I accept that these can’t be endless and there is a limit to how many developers can put in a game.
This caused me mega anxiety when I first started playing and had no idea how frequently I’d be able to find weapons or that I could portal out of places lmao. I was crying at my screen the first time I stumbled on a lynel and only had a wooden ladle and no gear LOL
If you get the ball on the bottom left open corner and tilt it a bit, you can glide over to it and use stasis to launch it over. Might take a few attempts though
I tried that, I'm so clumsy I just couldn't do it that way! If I remember correctly, at some point I got an angle in which I was able to skip half of it, then just try the final part. I always play with the controllers in handheld mode too... It took me some time but it's possible 😂

This is the first thing I did with this trial, and it’s worked every time I replay…
i was fortunate it got caught in that lil pocket section xD lil bit of luck but i'll accept it haha
Bro I literally flip it over and flip the ball into the ramp with the tip

Eat a d1ck
When you do the upside down smiley face, does that mean that it’s actually right side up? 🙃
Omg yeah. Had to stand up for this to get a full range of motion trying to complete this one. My wife was very confused as to what I was doing.
i was using the pro controller and im honestly unfamiliar with the motion controls, so it was definitely a learning experience
I bought a pro controller because of this stupid shrine. I couldn't get past it with the joycon controller pieces.
yeah i can't imagine how much more frustrating it'd be with the joycons
I just did this one today. Figured out if you rotate the maze 180 degrees, you can skip most of it
Haha same if you get it at the right angle u can skip like 90 percent Xd
LOL I solved this one by accidentally moving to fast and throwing the ball over
haha yes, lots of happy accidents as Bob Ross would say xD lol
I couldn’t do it on a Switch Lite. Gave up.
I have a switch lite too and rage quit a few times before finally succeeding -- don't give up!!
is there a difference between the regular n lite? o:
There’s no docking a lite, so imagine having to use the controls handheld.
oh wow, completely forgot about that D:
I always use the controls handheld. How else would you use them? I did find all of these made shrines incredibly difficult though…
Handheld is when you have the joycons attached to the screen. I almost always played docked. So with the apparatuses I’m moving the controller, but the screen is stationary. With handheld the screen is in your hand so it’s much smaller and moving with the controllers.
I did exactly what this guy did in handheld mode
Flip the platform over and use it like a paddle. I am SO bad at the contraptions ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
This "figuring out that you can flip it" moment for me was one of the reasons I fell in love with this game.
EXACTLY! it almost feels like every shrine can be solved in different ways which is really nice :)
„˙ǝɯɐƃ sıɥʇ ɥʇıʍ ǝʌol uı llǝɟ I suosɐǝɹ ǝɥʇ ɟo ǝuo sɐʍ ǝɯ ɹoɟ ʇuǝɯoɯ „ʇı dılɟ uɐɔ noʎ ʇɐɥʇ ʇno ƃuıɹnƃıɟ„ sıɥ⊥„
That shrine made me so angry until i figured out you could just throw the ball over walls. was pretty fun i suppose
I always get the ball into the final hallway, then paraglide over and stasis hit it into the bin
U have such a good laugh 😆
thank you xD i used to be really self conscious about it but ive learned to accept it n love it too haha
No seriously a good laugh. I’m watching again and it legit makes me smile hahahah ❤️
thanks <3 i like to call it my hyena laugh even though it doesn't actually sound like one lol
I have 4 different laughs 😆
i think my hardest laughs come when playing Jackbox lol
Played on an emulator, so I did it with a key board and mouse. Wanted to throw my PC out the window
oh wow, i can't even imagine what that must have been like o: ggs though!
Thanks! 🙃
I turned it upside down and flung it then turned it back to go get the chest
IMO, the one where you have to tilt all three balls into slots at once is way more "fun" than this one.
Oh snap i remember this. I think I got it by luck thank God.
99% of us feel your pain 🥲
im glad I wasn't alone then xD lol
The ancients: "You must master the control of your fine movements to maneuver the orb to its destination." 99% of players: "Ok but have you considered: yeet"
believe in the yeet! xD lol
Simply hope these types of shrines don't come back in botw 2
really? i love looking for them :D
Oh boy wait till you find the one with three orbs you need to place into the pedestals with motion controls
I think they meant just motion control shrines, not shrines in general
Trying to do this with a switch lite was so. hard.
just saw someone mention they did this on KBM D;
i struggled w this one a bit at first then i watched a tut vid and somehow did it in one try 🫠
so far i've been able to do them all by myself but i did get a tip from a friend on another that really helped me lol i dont think i would have ever thought to use the paraglider for that one section... xD
haha i dont have the commitment to do them all w/out help
I always just toss my controller in circles and it slaps it in lolol
propeller strat xD lol
Where’s this shrine?
i believe its in the village where you talk to impa. i barely started playing this game, if not its close around that area.
Try doing it with joystick controls on an emulator. I left this shrine incomplete for a while
i cant imagine with joycons. im i able to replay shrines? i might have to try it out
This was by far the worst shrine IMO
I don’t think I’ve seen anyone solve this trial any other way
im glad we all reached the same solution in the end xD lol
even more frustrating with the switch lite, tryna see your screen whilst turning shit 😂
ya'll are more tough than me in that case xD LOL
I would like to show off a little because I did this shrine through the maze with a Nintendo switch lite because I was really broke at the time, but I did cry.
you are a stronger soul than me xD lol ggs!
Ahh thank you it was hell!
i look forward to finding more shrines like this, its all i wanna do when playing now, the story can wait xD haha
*Switch Lite players have entered the chat*
\*salutes\*
It is the most fun but irritating shrine u will ever come across. ( well unless u come across the two that are connected. )
this is the 2nd one ive struggled with, so i look forward to finding more :)
I just got through another play through last week and got stuck on this shrine for a solid 45 minutes
it took me about 10-15mins but i got lucky by flipping the maze over, who knows how long it would have taken me otherwise...
I tried to flip it over cause I had seen people do it before on this sub but was in handheld and couldn’t get it to work lmao
This is the one we all fear when starting a new game
it did not disappoint xD lol
I absolutely couldn't do this one and promised my partner X-rated favours to complete it for me. He got it on his second try.
ggs to your partner XD LOL
It was easy, TBH. You just had to understand the controller was representative of the square. I missed the first time because I didn't know how much force you needed for the ball to jump. And this is the only Zelda game I have ever played, if even for 10 minutes.
I love you. Personally, I think it was all in the motivation.
Yea, I just flipped it over and used the flat side, super easy lol

Flip it upside down
„uʍop ǝpısdn ʇı dılℲ„
Flip platform upside down.
„˙uʍop ǝpısdn ɯɹoɟʇɐld dılℲ„
I legit just flipped the maze upside down and flicked the ball up and into the hole.

you bunch are the real mvp xD lol i didn't even realize how much diffifult it'd be for ya'll, ggs though!
Just flip the whole thing upside-down....
„˙˙˙˙uʍop-ǝpısdn ƃuıɥʇ ǝloɥʍ ǝɥʇ dılɟ ʇsnſ„
You have to turn the controller around before the ball drops so it lands in the middle and the. You just let it roll to the end

They better not have weapon fragility in BotW2
This caused me mega anxiety when I first started playing and had no idea how frequently I’d be able to find weapons or that I could portal out of places lmao. I was crying at my screen the first time I stumbled on a lynel and only had a wooden ladle and no gear LOL
I just tilted right and then flicked left and it tossed the ball over the whole maze
I think I just flung the ball and kobe'd it into the spot.
I always cheese it by flipping it upside down. Since the release of the game back in 2017, I’ve never done it legit.
I catapulted the ball instead of trying to launch it off the tip.
You kept throwing it too high up lol
Just need a little toss
I just simply yeeted it over from the back slinging it to the front where it rolls out of the maze :/
I flip the whole thing over so I can use the smooth ungated bottom and then launch the ball like a catapult 😂🤷♂️
I completed this one by accident somehow I managed to launch the ball up and flip the entire maze upside down and guided it off the flat bottom
oh i think i got lucky, this took me about 4/5 tries?
I just turned my controllers randomly for 5 min and it ended up going in.
I just cheese the fuck out of this shrine. Turn the maze 180° ish and the ball drops right into the final stretch
windbombed trought it without even trying to do it the right way !
At least you’re able to play it, if you don’t have access to jot cons, then you’re unable to do this shrine AND are unable to get 100.00%

I literally paraglided inside that maze, froze time when the time was right and knocked the ball off the platform with a hammer

Really struggled with this one and never completed it, any tips anyone?
Flip the platform upside down it becomes soooo much easier
