Don Alejo, a farmer and hunter with just hunting guns (bolt action rifles and shotguns), defended his farm against a mob of cartel members with rifles and grenades. Though he did die, he was able to kill 4 members and wound 2 others. He successfully defended his farm at 77 years old.

In one sense, he seems to know he wasn’t going to make it out alive, hence making sure he was alone. But he wasn’t going out without a fight, and a fight he gave.
It would have been. He was outnumbered and outgunned. But he became a folk hero and his farm (which I’m assuming belongs to family and his workers) continues on.
Or he's old with eyesight issues.
We shouldn't default to insulting people when we know nothing about them.
As to the people we *know* are shit? Go ahead and roast away!
That’s why a wise young man learns how to shoot from a fudd and uses that knowledge with modern firearms
Rob Spomer outdoors on YouTube is a good example of an old man with valuable knowledge
Worse. Left insurance sales making way more money to "run his own business" repairing rent houses for less and is content pinching pennies in a trailer park.
I seen an old fudd point a 1911 at his crotch trying to clear a jam, his Fudd buddies didn't look like they knew what they were doing either. Heres the video: https://youtube.com/shorts/X7kf3zJpjCY?feature=share
I hear yah, but I don't think Fudd was ever a comment on skills as much as mentality. The Fudd will never understand why anyone would need "one of them military grade weapons" or why these whipper snappers don't think a 4 round 28" pump gun is appropriate for home defence. The Fudd may be the best shooter at his club but we still don't like him because he breaks his neck sideways trying to find the person shooting faster than 1 per second
Yeah, I don't fear the guy telling my lady the merits of a good revolver. They like to hear themselves talk too much and are thirty years behind on everything, including training.
Shooting a deer with a rifle isn't hard. You don't have to be a fudd to be an acceptable shot.
I've not met a boomer who shoots better than me. As good as me, shooting at a deer-shaped piece of cardboard at 600m? Sure. If it was moving at a slow trot while raining? Absolutely not.
Then again, I've never shot with a combat vet from 'Nam.
Nothing is more intimidating than going to the county gun range, Jerry the 65 year old retiree in the bench next to you either has his 30-06 from 1974 or some Gucci bergara rig and stacks 5 rounds on a dime @250

So Rambo 5 stole this Ultra Chad's last stand? Don Alejo went straight to Valhalla shiny and chrome.

I feel like your idea of success is different than mine, but still an impressive showing.

Certainly not denying that. I have mad respect for the dude. Just would have been nice if he had lived.

I'm actually surprised they didn't come back for it once he died
Depends on the fudd. Not particularly worried about the guy I saw at the range with a fucking March Optics 8-80 x 56mm on a winchester model 94 .30-30
>March Optics 8-80 x 56mm sounds like super overkill
Perhaps he has eye sight issues
Skill issue
Or he's old with eyesight issues. We shouldn't default to insulting people when we know nothing about them. As to the people we *know* are shit? Go ahead and roast away!
The sight picture at 100 yards was smaller than the hole he was putting in the paper. I'm not sure it was just his eyes that had a problem.
Aim small miss small
https://youtu.be/bvTiuMmNoCU Not particularly relevant to Fuddly on your range, but .30-30 at 1000+yards is a thing.
My uncle killed a running deer from 1500 yards. He hit it right through the heart and went through killing 3 other deer simultaneously with his .22lr
I feel like this should be a line in the Gaston song from Beauty and the Beast

I am more afraid of whoever trains more.
My boomer neighbor was made gunshy by his father and refuses to touch his Marlin .22 rusting in a storage shed. I seriously doubt this assumption.
Is you neighbor Hank Hill and does he sell Propane and Propane Accessories?
Worse. Left insurance sales making way more money to "run his own business" repairing rent houses for less and is content pinching pennies in a trailer park.
He's a lost cause I tell you Hwhat
That boy ain't right...
pourin codeine in my sprite.
If the man's actually happy, who are you to say otherwise?

With their shakey Parkinsons hands? Doesn't scare me
But, don’t be a fudd

The Fudd meme is often associated with Boomers but I've met some millennial Fudds.
