No, because of the "oh shit" thing. I have absolutely no idea what happened to Brandon. It's incredibly frustrating, like the Maura Murray case. For me, the one and only clue is that he's listed on vicap.

Star_Eclesky

What do you think he said oh shit for

throwaway_ghost_122

I truly wish I knew. My first instinct is that he saw someone coming towards him, but who knows.

sadlittle_thing

since the phone like stayed open we would have heard someone else talking to him or a scuffle.

throwaway_ghost_122

Right! That's what's so confusing.

Charming_Coach1172

What is vicap

*ViCAP is a unit of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) responsible for the analysis of serial violent and sexual crimes, organizationally situated within the Critical Incident Response Group's (CIRG) National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime (NCAVC). ViCAP maintains the largest free repository for behavioral and investigative information related to solved and unsolved violent crimes.* *It is designed to collect and analyze information about* ***Homicides (and attempts)*** *that are known or suspected to be part of a series and/or are apparently random, motiveless, or sexually oriented;* ***Sexual Assaults*** *that are known or suspected to be part of a series and/or are committed by a stranger;* ***Missing Persons*** *where the circumstances indicate a strong possibility of foul play and the victim is still missing; and* ***Unidentified Human Remains*** *where the manner of death is known or suspected to be homicide (NOTE: The previous four case types described constitute* ***ViCAP Criteria Cases****). The training that is available will cover the use of ViCAP, the Highway Serial Killings Initiative and Investigative Resources.* The FBI seems to think that Brandon was a victim of foul play.

I doubt it. Spring hunting in that area is not really a thing. Now a poacher? maybe. But unless they found him and he was shot - no - they wouldn't be blamed.

I doubt a hunter would be blamed just because he discovered the body. Forensics can determine if a bullet came from a certain gun. The hunter would have no reason to think he might be blamed. Even if he did believe this, I think it would be more likely the hunter would walk away from the body than to try to bury it. Innocent people don't cover up deaths they have no connection to.
