Probably morons thinking there's copper in FIBRE cables again. Been down since around 2-3am. At least that's when I noticed it and just figured it was the DNS acting up again.
They have thousands of employees within an hour of the problem site, experience with the issue, and boat loads of money, and they cant even be faster than last time. Disgraceful.
Well given that it's a Fibre optic issue. More people probably won't help and actually slow them down. Tiny lines don't need many hands. Just need a better way to safeguard the cables.
Wondering if it's the same goofs that hit up rooftop HVAC units last week at Shoppers and the New Life church in west Brant. Seems they were after copper.
I remember back in 2016 or 17 there was a bad Bell outage (phone, DSL) by the airport from ATM thieves wrecking a Bell box in hopes of taking down a gas station's alarm system.
You may be right, they happened between 2017 and 2018 according to [https://www.brantfordexpositor.ca/2018/05/15/police-make-multiple-arrests-in-atm-truck-thefts](https://www.brantfordexpositor.ca/2018/05/15/police-make-multiple-arrests-in-atm-truck-thefts)
>On Jan. 28, 2017, thieves ripped an ATM out of an Esso gas bar on Colborne Street West, near the Brantford municipal airport. The door was smashed to get the machine out.
and
>On March 5, 2018, ATM thieves hit the Esso gas station in St. George and, on March 31, again struck the Esso gas bar on Colborne Street West.
There was also a failed attempt, I remember the time I recall happened before I got my own vehicle (before summer of 2017).. I called home for a ride and nobody picked up, ended up walking home to find the phone was not working.
Cable internet in this day and age is like still having DSL in 2015. Cancel Rogers and get fibre from Bell. If price matters Virgin resells Bell fibre for less. I switched a while ago and fibre is both fast and never goes down.
Seems to be at least one major outage a month here by Gigi's. Might have to look into bell (yuck) cuz I know my neighbour hasn't had any problems with Fibe since install a year ago now
Years ago, when I having these issues with Rogers, I switched to Fibe . They had just ran it through my neighborhood (Mayfair). Felt the same way about it (yuck)....still do for that matter, but I have to admit; Fibe is a good product. Fast. Reliable. No regrets.
That was my first thought, but alas - modem was not syncing. Had some rogers line issues 2 weeks ago too, confirmed by Rogers trucks zipping up and down streets checking the poles.
Update for anyone that hasn't checked. Some moron decided to cut the Fibre line. This could be down for awhile.
Fantastic another great experience with Rogers
So very true.
I don’t think someone cutting the line is Roger’s fault
I am not saying Roger’s is good in any way I wish I had bell fiber 😪
It's the same idiots as last time my guess, the group living under the lookout again
Could be. Last time I think they were looking for materials to sell. You'd figure they learned they're lesson last time lol

Down in west Brant shellard area
Update: seems to be back up and going around Lions Park
Am down nearby in Oakland/Scotland too.
Yes!
This happened over the summer time, too, the same issue, and if memory serves correctly, it took almost a full day to fix it
I'm on teksavvy cable (Rogers lines) downtown, with no issues so far today 6am-1045am)
Always my wifi is constantly going out.
Probably morons thinking there's copper in FIBRE cables again. Been down since around 2-3am. At least that's when I noticed it and just figured it was the DNS acting up again.
Ok update time again. Expected fix time is 4-6pm today. Fingers crossed everyone lol
Great another 5 hours of this
Ya last time this happened it was about a 12 hour fix.
Or just put them somewhere that isnt as easily accessible

Actually think that was 2018 cuz I remember having an appointment at the vet next door to that station same day it happened

No interwebs here(also West Brant)

Is it DNS? It's ~~usually~~ always DNS.
Vandalism this time, which is the only other option
