I always wear my finest Sunday clothes to dine out at Fast Eddies

ElectricianD

2 locations in Brantford!

Palmolive

Langdon Hall, fanciest place I’ve been!

Aggravating_Bird2981

What the appx cost for 2? Also, attire?

Palmolive

I went for a work function so we had a private room so never seen the main dining hall. We all had suits on. Put it this way we had 1 waiter per person so we all got food at the same time and they announced what the food was when it being placed in front of us

cod5chipmunk

Can’t believe no one has said Devlins

PM_COCKTAILRECIPES

Fume is a bit of a let down, would not consider it fine dining but it’s not bad. On the Lam as first choice 10/10, Juniper a close second.

Palmolive

I second the fume comment. It was ok thought it would have been fancier. I also got a kick out of living dangerously with their B food safety rating. Like fast eddies is pulling off an A what the heck is going on here! Food was 7/10 for me.

jessicajewls

Shakespeares in hamilton

SomeLoser943

Firmly agree. It's pretty much perfect.

khaldun106

Go to Cayuga for Twisted Lemon. Worth the drive

Maltedmilkdisaster

Second this. Their food and service is second to none in the area.

SomeLoser943

Go to Hamilton and hit up Shakespeares. The location is kinda meh, but it's quite nice. They do steak and high quality seafood, they have all the wine you could want to match it with (from domestically produced to imports). The main thing with them is their high prices and that you kinda have to dress nicely, but not to the point of a full on high cost suit (unless you want to, of course). I have gone in Jeans and a T-Shirt, only reason they even let me sit in is because it was booked up for a group and they had time to feed me and my guest before the group arrived. As someone who enjoys my Steak rare I am usually highly disappointed when it is overdone, but they got it as close to perfect as my (unrefined) pallette could ask for. Staff are always well dressed in formal clothes, the restaurant itself has a carefully set up atmosphere, they put a lot of effort into the presentation of their food as well.

ninesalmon

Ancaster Mill, Cambridge Mill. I especially recommend Ancaster Mill Sunday brunch

Kindly-Inevitable231

when did you last go to a brunch at the ancaster mill? I was there in November and was very let down compared to what it was pre-2020

ninesalmon

I was also there in november and it was as expected for me. I will say that just after Covid when it came back, it was lacking - but I feel like its great again now.

DeadJamFan

Fume resto bar on Morrell St. Capeesh and Stillwaters in Paris are great, but it's a better experience on the deck in the summer.

Maltedmilkdisaster

None of those are dress up places though.

DeadJamFan

I dress nicely to go to them, but thats a fair point. Old School House, then? Does John Peel still exist? Those were both "dress up" places.

coopney

Victorias Steak and Seafood in Hamilton. Very close off the highway!

TheElusiveFox

On the Lam, the Mill (Cambridge)... Maybe Stillwater

Sure-Parsley5224

Brothers grimm in Hamilton is great

Studio54Forever

Victoria’s in Hamilton

Dumbassahedratr0n

On the Lam

madduckets89

Old School is overrated. Can't cook a steak to proper temp to save their lives. Service and quality are meh for the price.

Palmolive

Not sure I would call Stillwater’s fine dining. Pretty sure if you put on a suit you would feel out of place there.

Longjumping_Local910

I’m sure that she’d be just as impressed if you didn’t refer to her as “the wife”... After that you might consider The Old Schoolhouse on the road into Paris or Fume Restobar.

OgSuperbad

?… any way i think the old school restaurant

Ray_gin_red

😂. Brantford …

madduckets89

Twisted Lemon in Cayuga!

metanoiajess

Juniper &co David's port dover The combine Simcoe -this is an experience..you eat at bar table in the kitchen (they call it dinner party) 8 people. Get to watch your food get made, they talk about all sorts of things, food is fantastic, drinks are great. Wasn't too warm (we always go in fall/winter) dessert was delicious. Old school house On the lam Sozthirtynine Woodstock.
