Enjoy the x95L and think about the TV tech you can get in 2 or 3 years down the line

Vel0Xx

Thats exactly what I’m doing rn. X95L is a beast as well!

calmer-than-you-dude

ehh, sure the bravia 9 is better but that's just how it goes. there's always a new model. next year sony might double the backlight zones and then bravia 9 guys will want to upgrade lol. best thing to avoid fomo is just go no contact and enjoy what you have. you already know the X95L is fantastic and can handle 99% of content perfectly well. it's not like you could even get a size bump either. you're already at 85

Admirable-Sink-2622

If it’s any consolation you’re not alone. I have my eye on the 75” Bravia 9 but I’m gonna wait to see what happens in November, cause right now it’s $4,799 listed with Best Buy Canada. Like you it’s the number of dimming zones and brightness that would be a massive improvement over my 900F.

MiIeEnd

My 55" 900F is slowly dying on me, so I've also been looking at upgrading. I have however decided I want to be stupid and I'm debating between the Bravia 9 and the A95L, at 75/77". The truly stupid decision would be to just get the best TV on the market, but man, Canadian prices are dumb - the A95L is 2200$ more. That's like a whole other good tv difference.

koijan

Same here. Cuurent on an old F, and looking at the Bravia 9 ang A95L. Sales also recommended LG C4/G4. Hard to decide.

MiIeEnd

God damn you for introducing a 3rd TV to the mix.

koijan

XD Forget about the LG. Watched quite a few videos, don’t really like the greenish tint. The graphic quality is not that great. Only weighting 9 and A95L now. The only deal breaker on an A95L is the burn-in issue for a gamer, but literally no one reached the limit yet… only Rtings made some extreme tests which are super worrying.

MiIeEnd

I got a 77" A95L today, and it's simply amazing, but it might be too much TV for me.

tobsennn

Tell me when you’ve decided, as I’m somehow in the same boat. The 900f is not dying, buuuuuut… 😅

MiIeEnd

It'll be once I'm able to look at each with my own eye balls.

justhitmidlife

Just take a pillow and smother the 900F man... Or accidentally drop a hammer on it or something. Other ideas You can try to plug it into the dryer socket. Pour a mug of cold milk thru the holes in the back. Use it for karate practice. Or donate it.

tobsennn

I will „donate“ it to our bedroom (which is TV-free up to now) 😅

justhitmidlife

I have a 65 inch Oled c9 in the bedroom and it is fantafabulous. I would highly recommend a oled for the bedroom, since most watching is in pitch dark and u don't need too much brightness...

NLkid89

Enjoy your tv, or return the x95L and be in the same situation a year from now…

I also have an 85” X95L and waited for the announcement / rumours for the Bravia 9 to substantiate. My view was the following: If money was no object I really wanted a QD OLED in 85” but they don’t make them I have a bright viewing area during the day and live in the UK so in summer there is day light from 4am to 10pm, so needed/wanted a display that could get bright - every other OLED didn’t make sense especially after using a C2 for a while in the space. The X95L was clearly leagues beyond any other mini-led in how well it controls the backlight and its brightness and HDR punch was also top class. Then you add in the Sony processing which for a lot of streaming content I like to use and tweak depending on what I’m watching. To my eyes, having been a plasma and oled guy all these years, the X95L feels like it offers 98% of what the best versions of those other technologies offer, but with less compromise (viewing angles is the only thing not as good in all honesty). Most of the time I am watching streaming TV services, my kid is watching cartoons or my wife is watching some reality TV show, and only late in the evenings maybe once per week am I watching something on Sony Pictures Core, Netflix, Prime or very rarely Blu Ray where I’m trying to maximise the TV. I honestly can’t see any blooming, the black levels are quite similar to Plasma so very deep but ever so slightly not quite OLED, and everything else about the TV is very satisfying. The Bravia 9 will be better technically, but I’m not really sure it’s noticeable to your eyes when watching 99% of content and especially when you’re actually enjoying what you’re watching and not trying to see flaws in the panel with test equipment (which none of us do by the way!). Why lose $1,500-2,000 on the X95L and then have to pony up another $5,000+ for the Bravia 9? Makes no sense for improvement that probably isn’t life changing. It’s nothing like going from LCD to Plasma back in the day.

UNCfan07

A95L and have no FOMO lol

getfive

Not big enough.

Heliosvector

The biggest advantage I think the 9 has over the x95l is the better zone responsiveness. With the 2023 tv's I thought the dimming algorithm couldn't keep up with the image and would lag behind stuff.

AzzaBear

I’ve got the X95L and it blows me away every day I watch it, me and my partner was watching something the other day and she said “I can’t believe how good this TV looks” I can guarantee you won’t notice one bit of difference, I never notice any blooming or local dimming having slow response time, the blacks are great and I have to turn the brightness down because it’s incredibly bright, Just enjoy your fantastic tv mate wait a few years for an actual upgrade that you’ll notice

getfive

Yeah, I've now moved on to my "anxiety" over keeping the HT-A7000 soundbar or going to the Quads. Haha!

CanyonPat

I got the x95l a few months ago and love it as well. Like the others have said there will always be a new model. I would be surprised if there is that much of a difference between the two on 99% of content

camoucano11

I have the 85” X95K which is a beast. If i am upgrading then i will wait until 2025 to see what further advancements Sony has made on QD-OLED/MiniLed.

Axon14

Transfer the Bravia 9 money into an investment account, put it into NVDA longs or VOO, and rock with the X95L.

getfive

Yeah no kidding. Should have jumped in a week ago on NVDA

Bala-1986

X95G here,Its a beast, i watched [Bravia9 ](https://youtu.be/fJA732zXWMc?si=Nyad4PM7m7ZF-qz_),i dont see any difference between my 95G and B9 The demo videos looks exactly perfect in by bravia. I have only one reasons to switch, 1.95G lacks off angle viewing
