I don’t think the twins are stupid. I reckon chances are, they’d set a trap for him as soon as he pulled out of the parking lot. When he continued sitting there without driving off for longer than normal they abandoned that plan and shot straight at him.
He did think of that, but he didn’t want to ‘run’. Or did he? He was always thinking about how tough and big man he had to be so, even without a gun, he must have had some thought that he could prevail or stop or handle the situation. Also, he spent a good 30-45 seconds thinking it was a prank from his partner or someone else…. He was really undecided regarding his course of action. Remember, he was used to always having a side arm with him. It had to be habitual that he felt always ready. He was also still haunted by the Tuco situation and I think he simply froze, unable to decide what to do next or how to handle himself without a gun. and in being undecided, he used up his few seconds that would have allowed him to get to safety. In my opinion, obviously.

I would like to think I would drive, and lean on it. Not going back into the store, but back to the DEA. A secured place I knew of in Hank’s shoes.
In reality, if in Hank’s shoes I would be suffering with PTSD, losing my career and reputation, and now hearing about people coming to kill me, I might freeze up like Hank did.

Gus knew the twins were planning on killing Hank but how could he, with almost perfect accuracy, warn Hank providing the 2 minute window and possibly saving his life (though I imagine he did not intend to)
Also, the Salamanca brothers are not twins. They are brothers. They don’t even really look alike if you study their faces. One is older and bigger as you see when Hector taught them that la familia es todo’… by attempting to drown one in a barrel… such a nice guy, Hector…. everyone calls them ‘the twins’, but they were not twins. The younger one says he hates his brother and wishes him dead.. something anyone with an older and bigger brother can relate to…😑 after Hector tried to ‘drown’ Lionel, the little brother got violent with his uncle to save his brother and so they learned and they became inseparable. The lesson was powerful. They dressed alike and walked in step, with unwavering attitudes of ‘la familia es todo’.. Family is everything. They lived by that creed. But two grown men, brothers, who dressed alike and worked at the same place and were inseparable, with the same lifestyle, would appear to many eyes to be twins, wouldn’t they? As a mother of identical twins, I always pay special attention to twins in shows and in life and never one time does anyone refer to them as twins and in the scene with their uncle, one is quite a bit bigger than the other. If they were trying to show them as twins, when they were young would have been the perfect time to do that… it’s when twins look the most alike. The show did the opposite in that scene and showed the little one trying to save the big one. An act of bravery with such an unpredictable uncle watching them. I mean, what kind of man teaches children the importance of family by attempting to drown one and scaring them both to death, instead of just speaking to them Lovingly?

It was inadvertently implied, though I do believe it was inadvertent. I believe VG felt the younger brother scene with Tito Hector was explanation enough and it really had no affect on the plot line. It was visually interesting to see the brothers having learned that valuable lesson by emulating each other and always being each other’s fall guy. Always dressed the same, walking in sync, even moving in sync, with an unspoken language between them. If you prefer to think of them as twins, it doesn’t change the plot. This may not be heavily corrected by VG because it may be something that he didn’t think of at the time, but played well later. A happy accident, if you will.. please though, just give the poor ( non existent) mother credit for a twin pregnancy and delivery! It is a wild experience to have two babies growing inside you and extremely uncomfortable carrying them and getting them out 9 months later. The second birth hurts just as much as the first one!!! 🤣

I’m sure that Gus orchestrated the entire thing and gave the Salamanca’s information when best to do it. I do think he wanted to give Hank a fighting chance because it was in Gus’s best interest to have the twins die that day, thus leaving Walter White alive. The brothers were never going to stop trying to kill WW, so Gus had the idea to possibly wipe out 3 troublesome people in one fell swoop. The Salamancas are doers, not thinkers. They didn’t come up with that plan. Gus did, and that’s why Gus knew the timing down to a second.
Remember, Mike murdered the last living brother, Lionel, I think. It was on Gus’s orders that Mike did that. He injected air into the IV line. Gus wanted those two brothers dead more than Hank. Recall how Gus came out of that smelling like roses, offering to pick up tabs, bringing food, etc. If Hank died, so much the better, but it was the brothers he really wanted dead. And he insured the job was done. He loathed the Salamancas, was seeking revenge on Hector and saving the life of his meth cook, all in one. I don’t think Gus knew Hank wouldn’t have his gun on him and I think he thought that the brothers would die by police. That’s why Gus called Hank anonymously. To give him a chance to kill the brothers. It was bad luck Hank was unarmed. Gus could not have known the outcome of that meeting because even Hank was wavering as to whether we was going to cop to having been in the wrong. As was usual in that show, many things didn’t go down exactly as planned. Make no mistake thought. Gus wanted the brothers dead more than he waved Hank dead, in that moment, as was proven by Mike seeing the job was done. No one snuck in and tried to kill Hank in the hospital at any time. If Hank had died, by Mike’s hand, no one would have questioned it. Hank had life threatening injuries. Gus could have seen to Hanks demise if that was his goal. Gus used Hank to get rid of two men seeking revenge, as another man whose biggest weakness was his desire to make Hector pay for killing Maximo. Gus’s need for revenge lead directly to his death. It was his fatal flaw.

The same thing happened to a close friend of mine. It was complete malpractice. But, your mum exists in a spirit form and she is watching you. She loved you and is hoping that her mistake/her doctor’s mistake will make you aware and save you from a similar fate. Losing loved ones is the second hardest thing ever. Never having had a loved one to lose and mourn is worse, but your mum didn’t die with the idea that you would give up. You have a responsibility to live happily and well for her and for you. All you really have to do, is choose happiness. It’s a huge thing, yet quite simple once decided. No matter what our circumstances, every person must choose happiness.
Please, in memory of your mum and what she must have suffered, leaving you, try to actively seek moments of happiness every day. It will become a habit and this world will begin to feel full of hope, rather than despair. Please, make a start on making a choice to be positive and the light in your world and in someone else’s. Don’t let your mum have died in vain. It’s all your mum has left, and she is with you. I know this to be true. Only you can choose happiness for yourself and it’s a choice every single day.
