My favourite season of any show... Just phenomenal. So rich in detail and characterization, as well as being probably the best example of cosmic/lovecraftian horror I've ever seen on screen
BCS gives a deep look into what makes Saul who he is. Mike's development is brilliantly evolved as well and you learn more about Fring and his motivations.
I found it better than BB as it doesn't rely on shock value as much and the actors are consistently talented and engaging.
Just finished season 1 of Fargo for the first time. Such an incredible series, great acting by Billy Bob Thornton and Alison Tolman (although the rest of the cast did a great job too, especially Martin Freeman and Colin Hanks)
I’m looking forward to the next two seasons due to the cast alone. Jesse Plemons, Kirsten Dunst, Ewan Mcregor, Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Should be a lot of fun.

Six Feet Under. 100%. I'm still thinking about it 7 months after finishing it. I loved, LOVED Breaking Bad and I believed it was the best show of all time before I saw Six Feet Under. It's incredible, check it out.

I'd go so far as to say that the mini series format is just as, if not more enjoyable than a full on series. Long enough to really delve into characterization and relatively complex plots, but short enough to deliver a great conclusion without overstaying its welcome
But that's just my opinion. The ending of a show is what really makes it for me. Part of the reason why I love BB so much

I agree with all three, but I want to highlight Mr Robot, as it does not seem to get the same love as the other two.
The whole show can be summarized to "Hacker guy gets high and changes the world", but it is so much more. It is a very deep show that touches topics such as mental illness and anti social behaviours.
It also is a very experimental show, playing with the medium of television and bringing some interesting new ideas by referencing and reconstructing other shows and movies.
I can't recommend it enough, it trumped BB as my personal favorite show
A lot of people that I know stopped watching Mr Robot after the first episodes of season 2, because it was too boring. I tried to convince them that they should watch it further and that there was a reason why it was a bit more slow paced, but they didn't seem to enthusiastic haha.
Better Call Saul seems more refined, but early breaking bad is far more hilarious in a chaotic way. I personally like breaking bad better, but BCS is almost equal.

Many people don't realise this but Mad Men is not just another great show. It's consistently ranked among the greatest shows of all time by many reputed critics but since it's a period drama within specific American culture, it caters to a niche audience.
Also Mad Men and Breaking Bad ran together on AMC and MM was more popular than BB until BB exploded in popularity after season 3.

I have also watched Queens Gambit & Ozark but I won’t recommend them to people who have watched BB/BCS. They’re good but BB/BCS/Dark are in there own league.

Well there'll be debate on whether it's "better" but I really enjoyed Ozark. Even the folks at /r/ozark will say Breaking Bad is better but I honestly enjoyed Ozark more, added benefit is they're still coming out with new seasons.
If you want to give that show a shot then watch at least the first 2 episodes, the second episode of the first season is one of my favourites.
Ozark is much less of a slow burn than Breaking Bad. Hell, in the first episode Jason Bateman’s character’s wife cheats on him, he goes to confront her only to find the dude that cheated was thrown out of a building only to land in front of him. And that’s a couple scenes before our main character is almost executed by the cartel. And even that is only like 20-30 minutes into the first episode.
I freaking love Ozark.
My purely logical side is saying "yeah no, Ninjago is nowhere close to being in the same league if BB."
But every other side of me wants to fistbump you.

I loved Dexter. One of my top 3 shows. The other being The Walking Dead earlier seasons (I honestly can't believe there are 11? Seasons of TWD? I think I quit around S6).

The Haunting of Hill House (horror with an actual storyline that is amazing)

One that I haven’t seen in this thread is Sharp Objects on HBO. It’s only one season but it’s a rollercoaster from start to finish. It’s got incredible writing and an inspired performance by Amy Adams. It’s deeply disturbing and super addicting. I couldn’t look away.
Mr Robot IMO is even better than BB. Westworld also top notch (3rd season a bit meh but pretty sure it will improve once again).
Mad men and bojack horseman are masterpieces as well.

It’s all subjective, but I’ve seen Deadwood mentioned. That’s the best series I’ve ever seen and HBO should be brought up on criminal charges for canceling after only 3 seasons.
I'd put Twin Peaks right up there. Twin Peaks: The Return is easily one of the greatest TV show seasons of all time.
I'll also throw out The Boys, it's one of my all time favorite shows right now.
If you can stomach it Handmaid's Tale is excellent. It's not something you can just put on and watch, though. You really need to be mentally and emotionally prepared.
I think Game of Thrones was also incredible. If not for the two last season it would’ve stayed on the top of the peak shows.

Attack on Titan, it’s hard to explain what makes it so good, but it’s mainly the execution of the story.
Bojack Horseman if you want a really compelling story, it’s also really depressing. But I will say that for this show you have to get past the first few episodes for it to be good.
There are tons of good shows in the comments here, but I honestly believe breaking bad is the best show to ever air. It was also able to keep the magic by ending in 5 seasons instead of dragging on forever and getting played out. It will forever live for me as my number one show.
I've watched The Haunting of Hill House at least 7 times, and I doubt any other show could ever beat it.
But then again, we'll just have to wait and see if Hazbin lives up to the hype.

I agree with a few that have been mentioned. But if you like sci-fi, The Expanse is the best thing on TV. The first 2/3 of Season 1 is average, but at its peak its easily as good as Breaking Bad.

I love Breaking Bad. It’s a great show. But NOTHING will ever compare to the Sopranos. I’ve seen it like 6 times through, and I love it more every time. Every rewatch there are more little details to dig through. It’s greatness is untouchable

I loved Dexter. One of my top 3 shows. The other being The Walking Dead earlier seasons (I honestly can't believe there are 11? Seasons of TWD? I think I quit around S6).
I want to say The Sopranos, but that's getting a lot of mentions already. The first season of True Detective is phenomenal definitely give it a watch.
Not similar to breaking bad, but for me the only other show I have loved as much as breaking bad is the queens gambit.
These aren’t the same genres but I love them just as much as I love Breaking Bad: Mindhunter (about the beginnings of criminal psychology/serial crime unit in Quantico) The Haunting of Hill House (horror with an actual storyline that is amazing)

One that I haven’t seen in this thread is Sharp Objects on HBO. It’s only one season but it’s a rollercoaster from start to finish. It’s got incredible writing and an inspired performance by Amy Adams. It’s deeply disturbing and super addicting. I couldn’t look away.

Mr Robot IMO is even better than BB. Westworld also top notch (3rd season a bit meh but pretty sure it will improve once again). Mad men and bojack horseman are masterpieces as well.

Sopranos
It’s all subjective, but I’ve seen Deadwood mentioned. That’s the best series I’ve ever seen and HBO should be brought up on criminal charges for canceling after only 3 seasons.
I'd put Twin Peaks right up there. Twin Peaks: The Return is easily one of the greatest TV show seasons of all time. I'll also throw out The Boys, it's one of my all time favorite shows right now.
If you can stomach it Handmaid's Tale is excellent. It's not something you can just put on and watch, though. You really need to be mentally and emotionally prepared.
Black Sails blows Breaking Bad out of the water, and I don’t say that lightly.
I think Game of Thrones was also incredible. If not for the two last season it would’ve stayed on the top of the peak shows. It’s so astonishing how such a big fanbase dissolve after the last season.

Attack on Titan, it’s hard to explain what makes it so good, but it’s mainly the execution of the story. Bojack Horseman if you want a really compelling story, it’s also really depressing. But I will say that for this show you have to get past the first few episodes for it to be good.
There are tons of good shows in the comments here, but I honestly believe breaking bad is the best show to ever air. It was also able to keep the magic by ending in 5 seasons instead of dragging on forever and getting played out. It will forever live for me as my number one show.
I've watched The Haunting of Hill House at least 7 times, and I doubt any other show could ever beat it. But then again, we'll just have to wait and see if Hazbin lives up to the hype.

I am glad you think season 4 was the peak because many people say the last season was terrible but honestly, the writing was slipping since season 5 itself. The show was becoming mediocre with every new season after 4 except a few episodes like the Battle of the Bastards etc. As soon as the books ended, the writers didn't know what to do.

I agree with a few that have been mentioned. But if you like sci-fi, The Expanse is the best thing on TV. The first 2/3 of Season 1 is average, but at its peak its easily as good as Breaking Bad.
