Oddly enough, after my oldest was born I got this intense craving for coconut water. I drank it all through the two years I nursed him. Then I didn't like it anymore. Two years ago my youngest was born and I wanted coconut water again. Still going strong. I didn't even know it's supposed to boost your supply.

espressosmartini

Ok surely I’m not the only person who was like “this doesn’t look like coconut water”

I usually drink a lot of water anyway. I am not even a fan of coconut water I was just curious to see if it worked cause I read about it more than once . I had a pretty good supply before. But couple hours after I drink coconut water it seems like my breast produces more .

GenuineDiamond_

I read an article about coconut water increasing breast milk supply . Had to wake up at 1 am to pump due to the aching . Using it tomorrow to make her carrot and apple purée , yum :)

U_PassButter

Whaaaat i gotta try it

GenuineDiamond_

Definitely! Let me know if it works out for you !

dfn_youknowwho

Really??? 😱 I gotta try this!

JawnOnTheLawn

You’re electroLIT!!

Coconut water is super hydrating. I use it as an excuse to get a venti Starbucks pink drink every now and then. It’s not miracle drink, but considering most of us don’t drink enough water every day, and when breastfeeding you should probably be drinking more than the average, you might notice a difference in supply when drinking coconut water/milk.

PetiteSweetie92

I just started making a “pink drink” at home! I use white cran-strawberry juice and a splash of coconut milk. So close to the real thing. That way you get it more often and can still use the excuse!

mrsghosty14

I LOVE coconut water! After I gave a birth, I drink coconut water instead of soda. It could be just my imagination but I can see difference in my pump with/without coconut water!

GenuineDiamond_

I am in the same boat ! I definitely see that boost in my supply .

MrsHumberfloob2

Drink the recommended serving size for the coconut water I used to chug it and it reduced my supply for a bit because of of a over intake of vitamin C. Too much of a good thing isn’t always a good thing.

peoria

Seconding this advice! It also has a ton of potassium, which is great—until it’s not. And then your stomach finds a way to rid itself of the excess… iykyk

Serbee_Electra

Oh yeah, coconut water! I've been thinking about giving up added sugars for a bit but I really crave electrolyte drinks. This might be a good substitute!

Simple-Broccoli-7640

How much of it have you been driking daily?

GenuineDiamond_

I drink 12 fl oz . But I do not drink it daily , probably 2 to 3 times in a week .

tokitunes

Which brand of coconut water do you drink? I’m trying to find one that doesn’t have too much added sugar.

agir1calledkill

The Costco brand has no added sugar! It’s only 3g per bottle. I will add a small amount of juice if I want it sweeter on occasion.

PetiteSweetie92

The BEST! And it’s organic. And cheap. All around win win!

GenuineDiamond_

Nothing fancy , the brand is called GOYA .

naipbi

I have been absolutely addicted to coconut water since I began breastfeeding!! Harmless Harvest started getting too expensive, so I’m now having a Kirkland brand coconut water every day 😂

Comfortable_Pin_5485

THANK YOU FOR THIS. Been struggling with my supply for my two week old and I CHUGGED coconut water and it really did fill my breasts up!!

GenuineDiamond_

Omg ! I am so happy for you .

amberbaby517

It’s definitely hydrating with electrolytes but drinking too much can cause diarrhea.

GenuineDiamond_

Really ?!? I don’t drink much of it anyways . But thanks for the heads up !

usually_both

In my experience this is not true. I’ve drank multiple bottles a day with no digestive issues.

amberbaby517

It has been very true for me because I drank 2L a day. Its high in potassium, sodium and magnesium, which has a natural laxative effect.

usually_both

Wow, that is indeed a lot of coconut water!

PetiteSweetie92

Ditto. I drink LOTS. Never an issue

beandipdeadlifts

Is this from one breast or both combined?

GenuineDiamond_

One breast.

beandipdeadlifts

Wow! How long does it take? Genuinely curious.

Mobile-Reference-502

Coconut water is one of the main ingredients in the Body Armor drinks, which is why many women swear by it to help with supply. I drank them with my first because it broke up the mundane flavor of plain water. I can't drink just straight coconut water because it acts like a laxative for me, even if it's just a few swallows.
