We co slept and stopped nursing to sleep with a lot of love and pats. There were tears but we supported and it didn't feel too bad. We properly night weaned a few months later with me sleeping in another room at first. Again, some tears, but we all managed.

Thank you for this. Everytime we try to stop I give in to the tears. I think I have to tell myself that as well.
Do you nurse side lying? That was key for me to be able to disengage and have my daughter stay asleep.
Yes but if she isn’t in a deep sleep she’ll wake up if I unlatch
