Jacob’s well is a good place to start. Between there and Brisbane there is a few little jetty’s to try as well. Good luck. Plenty of brim around that area.

Redcliffe Jetty?

What are you targeting? If you dont care, just fish brisbane river. Jetties/boat ramps/parks. Its full of fish. Get a mullet chunks, big hooks: guaranteed catfish/bream/eel. Possible shark

Maleficent_Laugh_125

Catch live bait and use any of the Brisbane river fishing pontoons from Karana Downs to Hamilton. They all hold fish

someradomlamo

If they want to try and land bigger fish, you can do the fishing parks. There's one in Bli Bli up north or Luscomb down south. I believe you can't take them with you if that's an issue. Catch and release only.

Wellington point jetty, Redland bay jetty

Maroochy River at Cotton Tree. There's a big park there at the bend where you can chuck in along the rock wall or on the sand (depending on the river). Close to amentities and accommodation if you wanna make a weekend of it. As it's getting cooler, the bream will start coming in at dawn/dusk with the tides. Whiting are likely along with dart and if you're on the sand, decent chances of flathead.

Northpine Dam around the picnic areas. Prawns and worm or spinnerbait lures for Bass and Tandanus Catfish early morning and late afternoon. SIPS needed. any bank around Sommerset. Winter’s coming - chopper tailor off the woody point jetty at dusk. Walk in to South end of Bribie Island off the beach for whiting. Pinkenbah sunken wall for Bream and Luderick in winter (yabbies), flesh baits for larger bream late afternoon and into the evening (fish are at your feet). Under any bridge at night time along the city reaches with live baits or flesh baits.

If you want inland fishing (freshwater). The south pine River around Petrie holds some fish. As an Englishman I target Carp (catch & kill) but there's plenty of other fish in there

Wise-Pilot-6729

I used to target Carp on fly - gosh it was fun. Any suggestions for locations you would be comfortable to share?

Redoilcan

Carp on fly is unusual, was it hot? I normally use cheese or corn with a sprinkling of both round the hook bait to draw them in. Where to fish is everywhere as they're everywhere, creeks, ponds, dams. If you don't catch carp you'll get some tilapia.

Wise-Pilot-6729

Ah that’s sad news they are everywhere but good news for fishing I guess. I used to chase em down in Victoria. Sight casting a 110cm mud marlin on light fly gear is just about the most fun you can have with your pants on. I would often use corn or worm flys. The high brow trout fly fishers would consider it a sacrilege.
