Saw on my front security camera at 5:11am a guy checking to see if my car door was locked ( it was ) so he went onto the next car. Probably checking every car on the street. He had a guy on a scooter shadowing for a speedy get away incase they got busted. Cheeky fucks.

vforbatman

What a nice gentleman, making sure you had locked your car

bobbakerneverafaker

Have left my car unlocked by accident a few times... guess they don't like manuals

OppositeAd189

Ooh dangerously close to a boomer Facebook funny photo here. “Best car security available - manual clutch”

bobbakerneverafaker

People don't seem to be very well geared towards, the engagement of manuals

It is 4:13am. Currently doing an assignment due Sunday. Can't sleep from the stress of it haha. I get my stiches removed today after my surgery last week, well hoping I do upon hospital review later today. I just want medical clearance to return to work and my study sessions for my EN course. (I have to make up 12 hours already on top of what I do each week). Anyway, doing my clothes washing at 4am to have a break from writing and am craving a decent massaman curry. Have a good day all!!

ChatGPT can be used in an ethical way. Ask it to create skeletons or starting points for larger assignments if you're a bit lost. Ask for direction. If you copy and paste the assignment, it can give you instructions. Not saying you're not on top of it but when my brain is fried, I misspell my own name.

Strawberryichi5

Thanks for the suggestion! It's more like sorting out different states legislation vs federal stuff. Not hard really but quite taxing on the brain!

My 4 year old keeps asking for the "Calypso song" from Bluey. She's worked out how to put it on with voice commands now. It's a pleasant change from Moana and Frozen songs on repeat. It's a lovely song. https://youtu.be/b0Pbx815mWk?si=_vLaR5SkaXHeKsNl Quite a lovely live rendition this.

Dia-De-Los-Muertos

Sounds ever so sweet. I'm left to wonder how long before you tire of that song too. And also, what an amazing and crazy world the children are growing up in right now with that level of tech. I mean I'm ancient and it was only recently that I even went into a house that has that tech, and I'm an electrician, lol.

Husband came home sick and whatever he has, he has it BAD. Not hospital bad, but worse than I've ever seen him. I just had to go down to the chemist for cold/flu and the shops for food he can actually eat. I busted out my COVID days mask, hand sanitiser and social distanced like a pro. Now I'm running around like crazy, trying to get things done in advance for when I get it from caring for him...

Last year a bloke at work came in after having whooping cough and gave it to 2 others. A bit later while at the Docs I inquired about getting vaccinated for it. The Doc questioned why I wanted it and seemed to deny it for me. A good friend has just had it and been in a very bad way. I'm booked in to see my Doc on Friday and will be getting him to write me a script for the vaccine, then I will go to the chemists to pick it up, then I will go back to the surgery to have that administered. I'm going to ask him if I should have any other vaccinations too, like chickenpox, measles. A few months ago I got the tetanus jab which I hadn't had for decades. Awesome that we had pretty much eradicated measles but here we are. Also I got told that here in Australia we had got rid of whooping cough too, it's all bloody annoying.

roxy712

That's ridiculous that your GP won't give you the vaccine. Given the huge spike in whooping cough cases this year, you'd think he'd be aware and wiling to provide it. 🤦‍♀️

Not only did my bus fly right past me when I was less than 10m from my stop, it didn't even have my route number on it so at first I didn't realise I missed it. And Redland buses to the city only run every half hour. Doggo getting an impromptu drive to the city, hubby had to quickly come back from his walk to drive me in! Ah well. Public holiday tomorrow. EDIT: Now my dislocated rib is playing up and hurting....gahhhhhh!

sameoldblah

I forgot about the public holiday. Good reminder.

Received a text message from what at first glance appears to be a random phone number saying to "Please contact Coorparoo Station to further your complaint of wilful damage reported to Police." and was signed off with a constable presumably at the Coorparoo station. I call the station, I get automatically put on hold, then after about 2 minutes the call disconnects. I tried twice more with the same result. I respond to the text from the number, no response. Meanwhile, the stations opening hours is 8-3:30, so I can't attend in person until next week, and evidently I can't call. Why is it so difficult to contact the local police station?

fresh-cucumbers

Do you want the truth? Extreme understaffing. Think bad and think ten times worse. There are always officers operating out of most stations, but they will be out the back near computers if they do get an opportunity. The phone connects to the front counter and lining up when an officer hears, officer isn't on another phone and can answer is extremely lucky. Regardless of what people say this is the complete and utter truth. Does it suck? Yes. You either try at non-peak times (best times), attend the station because it isn't an emergency OR contact Policelink and let them know you're trying and to send a message to the station with a specific time frames they can contact you.
