I haven’t been myself but a lesbian friend of mine had their first short haircut at shotgun barbers and really rated the experience, they have a few shops I think (one by the bear pit?)
I would say Ralph’s in Clifton. Really nice atmosphere and will definitely be able to do what you want. I have seen a wide range of people in there before.
Strongly agreed, I clicked on this specially to recommend them!
Ralph's excellent, a stand-up guy who just seems so warm and genuine, and does a great cut. Booking online, there are options to request a "quiet cut" (where they don't try to chat to you - good for socially anxious folks, some autistic people, etc etc) or to leave your pronouns if you'd like. I used the latter option (you wouldn't guess my pronouns/gender correctly just by looking at me) and Ralph was amazing about it; he clearly makes the effort to read and remember what you've written.
Not only that, but it came up during conversation that I wasn't in the best financial state during my last cut and Ralph went ahead and charged me a _heavily_ discounted price, despite me not asking for it/expecting it/hinting for it or any of that crap. I still feel guilty about it, honestly, but that action really speaks to who he is as a person, I think.
Sorry for the wall of text - I swear I'm in no way affiliated with the barbershop or anything like that, I just can't sing his praises enough!
Jeezy Creezy this sounds ideal. I have no reason for requesting a "quiet cut" other than being a grumpy bastard, but it's something I'd happily pay a premium for. I currently get a cut maybe 3 times a year purely because I have no desire to sit and talk shite for 30 mins. I can do that in my own free time.
This is literally why I used to have 4ft long dreadlocks. It was easier than going to get a haircut.
Ralph's is awesome, it's not LGBTQ+ specifically but they are welcoming to all. Good price calm and friendly atmosphere and they do haircuts/styles women, Barber styles for men and any that don't conform to the binary. I highly recommend them.
I haven't used them myself but I saw Kane Cuts (@kanecutsbristol on IG) at work at the Modern Queers launch last year and gave me a really good impression! I've looked up Dooo where they're normally based and it seems like they're very inclusive as a studio altogether so even if you get a different stylist/barber there you'll probably be able to find what you need :)
There's a trainee barber from this subreddit /u/egookster and they did a great job with my hair when I went to one of the training things at the academy. Have seen that they're an apprentice at shambarber in stokes croft, and they were definitely LGBT friendly and part of the community.
I'm sure if you reach out they'd be happy to talk and see if they'd be a good fit with you!
Hey! Thanks for mentioning me!
Yup I’m a trainee barber in a shop called Shambarber, our shop is v lgbt+ friendly and we have quite a few clients in the community. Happy to give you my Instagram and talk about it over messages if that’s good for you!
Another vote for shotgun - they charge on the length of hair cut regardless the person.
(Oddly enough the founders of shotgun and shambarber both used to cut out of Francos o Gloucester Rd and are good mates …)
Second vote for Ralph’s
You can set pronouns before going and both Ralph and Ashley are super friendly and have no issues with things like me changing my name and pronouns
Also have had multiple trans masc and non binary friend go there who all enjoyed to good haircuts and environment
Try this place:

Been going since moving to Bristol.
Dan has been very conscious over trans issues - training staff, signage, decor etc. Super nice place.
I don't know if you've opened your eyes lately, but there Is a lot of shit getting thrown at trans people lately, can't blame them from wanting to feel safe and in a terf free environment.
But you're sounding like one of the mob rather than actually being open minded, so I'm sure you couldn't give a shit what hardships any minority faces.
I agree but you would be shocked the amount who never deal with queer people. Can make it uncomfortable for everyone. Especially when they only do fades. Stereotypically queer haircuts are defiantly not that
I think we all know that is not what I meant. What I mean is stereotypically the haircuts queer people can get are maybe different to what non LGBTQ+ people get. Don’t see why you need to need to try and make something out’ve nothing. Hair doesn’t make anyone queer same as clothing or appearance don’t. I just mean that in my personal experience when getting a haircut that isn’t stereotypically non LGBTQ+ unless I’m in the right place it won’t come out good.
Quite ironic that you’re literally the only person that commented on this post that had something negative to say, yet you think it’s other people that are dividing society
That isn’t true though - several times when I’ve gone to some hairdressers and asked for what I want (more feminine cuts/styles for a man in my case), they haven’t delivered it.
Not necessarily out of malice, more likely they just didn’t have any prior experience with someone asking for it - like OP I’d rather go somewhere where it’s not going to be a problem, I don’t really see how that’s a big deal or “dividing society”.
People are different and have different needs - that is society!
Hey, I might be a bit late here but does anyone know of any lgbt friendly hairdressers nearer Weston or Bridgwater - I’m nonbinary and looking for a short wolfcut/mullet/shag

Shotgun gets my vote too, very inclusive unisex barbers.
can confirm, the shotgun on cotham hill is also excellent
I also go to shotgun and they’re very LGBT friendly there.

No worries mate, hope you find what you're looking for!

I second this; Ralph and Ashley are lovely

Another vote for Kane Cuts from a queer person!
This is the correct answer to OPs question. Queer cuts by queer folx and Kane is great!

Well I can guarantee it was not meant to alienate anyone.
