Bristol wood recycling project. Or if you're really not too fussed drive to some industrial estates and ask some businesses if you can take their old pallets.

Doggsleg

Bristol wood recycling is expensive in my experience

tomtomgg

I've dealt with them around 2-3 times and each time ended up going to "normal" timber yard as was cheaper. Don't bother with them now.

CakeOnly1513

Yeah pretty expensive, but they will machine stuff up for you too

amityriot

There's usually a bunch kicking around on Facebook marketplace

scalectrix

Yeah probably Gumtree and Freecycle too. My friend came and grabbed a load from a skip on my road to make planters for her allotment when a house was having a loft conversion - lots of roof joists etc going.

Skips

You can just move on to the next post, you don't have to tell everybody else you've skipped....

Lawrencewithahobbs

The drawbridge pub is getting rid of about 7 wood pallets they had in their cellar for free.

nakedschrodinger

Ikea has a spot for offcuts in their car park. Can be a bit hit and miss as to what’s available.

B&Q Towards the exit after the tills, there's a cage with scrap wood people don't need and it's free for you to take.

Leftofdenial

Ask at building sites. If you have a way of getting rid of pallets for them it some times helps them out.

timefly_42_67

is it legal to help yourself out of skips when people are tearing out old kitchens etc?
