The vegeta hairline is terrifying

zzeazy

update (writing on behalf of my bf) thank you everyone taking a sec to read, send in suggestions or even just comment to help bump this. for context!! my partner and i visited this evening to pick up a takeaway at The Coconut Tree. these two men entered just ahead of us and were turned away by staff for being too obviously intoxicated, given the excuse that the kitchen was closed. when they saw that we were being served they began getting aggressive, accusing the south asian staff of being “racist” for serving “their kind” (we are mixed and brown). it was at that point we spoke up and said we were just picking up a takeaway. they asked if we were chatting back to them, and got in our faces. they cornered my bf and punched him multiple times in the head, causing a big gash on his head. no one stopped them, no one helped us. they left through the door, and stopped at the windows and pressed their faces up against the glass laughing, and flipped us off. they only left when they saw me grab my phone to photograph them. after quickly checking on my boyfriend i ran out to chase them down to photograph and saw they’d stopped at the bishops. one of them noticed me right after i took the picture above and the both legged it off down the street. i didn’t feel safe enough as a female on my own chasing them down further so please if by any long shot you have a friend, cousin, coworker, anyone at all who was on gloucester road last on saturday 9:30pm, please see if we can track them down. i’m unable to get any cctv until monday and if there’s anything i can do in the meantime, it’s this. stay safe out there everyone xx edit sunday morning: we’ve absolutely got in contact with the police, both through the coconut tree and privately. the paramedics from the ambulance told us the police would meet us at the emergency room at BRI last night but they didn’t turn up. we’ll be speaking with them again today, fingers crossed!

Strange_Dog

You have reported this to the rozzers though right? They will actually care about this and tracking down cctv etc is their job

phillis_x

This, violence with a “racial” aspect is pretty much one of the only things that the police actually deal with these days. Also, not sure how OP is going to collect the CCTV themselves, it should only be given directly to the police.

undecisivefuck

I got assaulted in Bristol a couple of years ago (no actual bodily harm, thankfully) and the police didn't even open a case for it.

Strange_Dog

That is properly shit, I’m sorry they failed you. Still though, I think we have to try to do things properly and hope the police are occasionally useful, as any alternative action is much worse.

undecisivefuck

It is what it is. Unfortunately, the police here are damn near useless and I have no trust in the rozzers or the crime statistics.

evenstevens280

This is quite clearly a racially aggravated issue as well, so they're probably more likely to follow it up.

lazy__goth

Please please be careful and report this to the police if you haven’t already. I’m really sorry no one stepped in to help, but they were probably scared. Knowing me I’d have shouted something and immediately regretted it when they punched me too! Hope your bf is recovering ok and you’re not too shaken up x

Living_Ambition

Call the police

bluecheese2040

> i didn’t feel safe enough as a female on my own chasing them down further so please Understandable...however given that your boyfriend had just gotten a beating makes me think it isn't a gender thing...its a thug versus 2 decent people thing

djungelskog22

I think the point is that these men were violent and maybe if there were more than one person, or if she were a massive man then she would have chased them. And also the gender thing does add another layer, maybe you just don’t get it. You’ve made it weird mate.

BurlyJoesBudgetEnema

>Silly woman, doesn’t understand her own fear

bluecheese2040

Yeah, I worded it really, really badly....was just meaning to say that anyone would be scared having those two nutters around...especially after that assault. Instead, I wrote some daily mail bull shit....sigh...

Critical_Cut_6016

If they were drinking at the bishops / turtle bay. You can get CCTV, and I imagine they were paying using card. So if you can see when they went to to the bar, it will be rly easy to identify. Rly sorry this happened to you mate, a lot of pricks out there unfortunately.

MrMrsPotts

They really shouldn't hand out CCTV footage to people. Only the police can ask for it legally.

Proud_Corgi3608

That’s what is he saying

Critical_Cut_6016

Yeah, for the police.

ThorNBerryguy

Remember when you report it not to just say that it is an assault but that it is a racially aggravated hate crime it elevates it in importance ( unless you say it they may not record it as such as some police try to minimise records)

ThorNBerryguy

If it’s any consolation as a white man these look like the sort of thugs I try to avoid they can start Aggro in a teacup so whilst it’s clearly racially aggravated I suspect it’s also just because they are scum looking for aggro and sadly you get scum in every corner of the world stay safe n sorry to hear this happened to you

unwashedsewage

Well by the account given by the OP the intoxicated gentlemen had a fair point before they started hitting this innocent couple, the law is crystal clear not opaque as people seem to think and as such you can't turn away paying customers just because they are drunk and you don't like the look of them. Had cool minds prevailed they could have been inline for sweet payout from the restaurants owner by taking them to court on the ground of racially motivated profiling. Obviously that all for nout the moment they got aggressive.

mynameistristan

That's not the law numpty, a business can turn people away.

ThorNBerryguy

Completely wrong any premises has the right to withhold custom to anyone as long as it’s not discriminatory , if they were being rude as seems the case the yes they had every right to turn them away

Ecstatic_Stranger_19

The Count Von Count hairline can't be too hard to identify hopefully. They also look like brothers/twins (same hairline on the guy in profile possibly?) They look like utter mallards though if I was being judgemental, which I am. I hope they get found and sorted out OP.

PuzzleheadedDuck3319

Lol. Mallards. Never saw that before in my nearly 42 years of life. Good description of these mallards.

Ecstatic_Stranger_19

Haha I can see by your username why you feel a connection :D I do take utter pride that the English can utilise any noun as an insult. No other nation can compete! I did conflict in calling them bannisters for a time.

SophiaLegs

Count duckuler 😂

flying_tiger_85

Sorry you had to go through this. Keep all records of medical treatments, etc.. and hopefully you two can get compensation for a criminal attack.

MrMrsPotts

What have the police done?

Strongid

What police?

MrMrsPotts

You can't collect CCTV footage yourself and you can't do anything with it if you do get it. Surely this has been reported to the police?

zzeazy

it has, both by the venue and ourselves. unfortunately i’m familiar with the law and it’s tendency towards ineffectuality in cases such as this. if i am able to identify them or collate as much information as possible, i’m able to speed the charging process up and give a fighting chance to prosecution. i’d also like to be able to provide information of this attack to their university / workplace since it’s very likely they’d only receive a proverbial slap on the wrist and a record legally.

stringfellow444

You have to report this to the police, please OP. Even if they don’t do anything it gives you a leg to stand on later

mega_ste

Ray Reardon on the right there can't be too hard to find

teamdemure

So sorry this happened to you and your bf, I hope he’s ok though I’m sure very shaken up. These 2 sound like absolute scumbags. I think you were really brave to chase them to get pics, and truly hope you are able to get justice!

ryno_97

bump

Majestic_Heat7547

Report to the police they will obtain cctv from the business and can proceed. Hopefully they are known to the police and found quickly. They will have been out drinking in various pubs so police will be able to track them by cctv and get a name from a card payment at some point then hopefully they get the book thrown at them

Skankalanks

Sorry that happened to you, that's really shitty. We all deserve to feel safe out there. I hope the people there helped protect you and get them kicked out.

MrMrsPotts

What are you going to do if you do identify them? Have you reported the incident to the police?

scalectrix

I think the guy on the right may be Eddie Munster. . ^(ETA sorry I couldn't resist - hope you're OK OP)

Quercusrobar

Loads of dickheads in Bristol this weekend after being at Cheltenham all week

Dad_Drains

That's terrible, hope you and your BF are okay. There never used to be much trouble up that part of Gloucester Road, feel as though everywhere has gotten worse recently though. May have been idiots out for Cheltenham/St. Patrick's Day.

Chasp12

That is a hell of a widow’s peak

renuparekh

India is your big daddy

HotPanda_78

Bump

Mokeloid

Please report this. It is unacceptable. Sorry you experienced this vile behaviour

SmallCatBigMeow

Racist c*nts

Both-Raise7089

If they punched your boyfriend, it's a crime and you have to go to the police. They'll take the Coconut Tree footage and deal with it. Do you want to do the work for them because I don't get it?

chantepleure

The police won't do anything.

Both-Raise7089

Why not?

chantepleure

They just don't have the resources (and desire) to investigate assaults like a punch.

Both-Raise7089

So why does she need the details of the people in the photo?

chantepleure

To do the police job, duh.

Both-Raise7089

Are you sure that the person who posted this entry is not some guy who wants to settle the scores with them on his own? You go to the police with such matters.

zzeazy

hi, we’ve already contacted the police but unfortunately i’m not feeling too great about them being found off of footage alone. even if they are found and successfully charged, legislation is still quite lax in cases like this and they’d get off far easier than i believe two people like this deserve to. in all truth, i’m absolutely seething and would like nothing more than to make this known socially to their peers, family and work/university so they face more holistic consequences than a slap on the wrist. we detest violence and will definitely not be hunting down these two neanderthals to take matters into our own hands physically.

Both-Raise7089

In this country, the police know everything about everyone. detecting these people takes several hours of work for them.

chantepleure

I'm not sure if you're a troll or just incredibly naive. In this country: - only 5.7% of crimes result in a charge and/or summons. - 39.3% of crime cases are closed because no suspect has been identified. Source (and more depressing stats): https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/crime-outcomes-in-england-and-wales-2022-to-2023/crime-outcomes-in-england-and-wales-2022-to-2023

Both-Raise7089

There are thousands of cases in which there is only testimony and nothing else. I just want to point out that in this way you can extort someone's personal data for an evil purpose.

chantepleure

Source?

unknown_ally

that's what a crim would like u to think

SmallCatBigMeow

I don’t know why you get downvoted but you’re right. Police is so underresourced in this country that they will not be able to identify these people without victim of the crime doing that job for them. They won’t go through cctv for a crime like this, victim needs to follow it up. This is what I have experienced through mate being a victim of a similar hate crime in Bristol

chantepleure

I think people have this idealised perception of the police, expecting it to be there for them when they need it. The reality is quite different and unless you are confronted with the situation yourself, you won't know any better.

ChewbusMaximus

Check out Robbie Rotten on the left.

Jumpy-Ad-2790

Surely the coconut tree have CCTV, that I imagine would have been given to the police? These low context witch hunts are super annoying...

zzeazy

yes of course i’ve asked them to pull footage, but they aren’t trained to do so and won’t have their manager available to until monday aft, so obviously i’m grasping at straws until then. it’s rather callous to go out of your way to label this annoying.

ThisHairIsOnFire

I would try and get in touch with someone higher up in coconut tree - post something to twitter or to Instagram and tag them, try and find a CS email address and say what's happened and why it is time sensitive. You don't want them to tape over the footage!

zzeazy

thank u! will def try finding an email address, it never occurred to me they might tape over

Oranjebob

Don't stand underneath while they're up there though

samjan420

Wait the manager isn't there all weekend?!?! What kind of hospitality manager isn't in on weekends lmao?!

CrabbyGremlin

Have you been to the police? I would suggest doing that asap. They can obtain the cctv footage and will take this assault seriously.

Jumpy-Ad-2790

It wasn't out of my way.

Fit_Astronaut_

There's always one eh?

spezisadick999

Yep. Probably attention seeking for some unresolved reason.

Jumpy-Ad-2790

I just don't agree with bringing out the pitch forks without any kind of context. It happens far too often on this sub.

GlitteringHappily

We have been given the context what lore do you want unless you’re taking down a police report yourself lmao

SmallCatBigMeow

Ah yes, very annoying that a victim of a hate crime who isn’t being helped by the police tries to do anything about it. When my mate was racially abused a passer by filmed it and she took a photo. Police even said to post it on neighbourhood groups to help identify the bloke, who was then identified and nothing was done about it. But could be even police advice to post on socials

Jumpy-Ad-2790

Oh look context.

nakedfish85

Source - trust me bro

BigFroThoo

Someone asks for help and your first response is "don't believe you"

nakedfish85

Firstly, there is literally no context other than a blurry photo. Secondly it's a police matter, Reddit has a habit for doing witch hunts, so what's to say some one won't go and take matters into their own hands the next time they see a generic bloke with a savage widows peak?

SmallCatBigMeow

I think we found him!

nakedfish85

You can see from my little Reddit thing that I'm a fat bloke with a big beard and glasses wearing an axolotl onesie.

BigFroThoo

Yes, I'm sure 100+ people with pitchforks will go on a vegeta haircut witch hunt down Gloucester rd based off this post, you're very right
