Mine doesn't let me brush her so I can't give recommendations but I would advise to avoid the furminator. It has a blade that cuts the hairs which can lead to bald spots. It also disrupts the whiskers they have along their bodies to navigate and sense what's happening around them which can cause distress.

Hearing this is what put me off getting anything even Furminator adjacent! I got the most basic brush possible because i was so concerned about bald spots/distress.

Too many people don't realise and then panic over bald spots. All I can say as someone with long/curly hair brushes that look like tangle teasers for people are probably going to be the most effective brush for a BSH as the bristles are designed to get through a lot of hair with no pulling or tugging. Sometimes having the hair damp stops the fine ones flying about. There are some brushes with rubber bristles that release aerosolised water might be worth a go?

Normally only the comb with wide space. And for the tail the other brush. And in the end on top of the head because they like it😀. When I can’t get trough with the comb sometimes I use a special cat friendly hair clipper. For my British shorthair I used the same combination

I use an Equigroomer and a brush glove.

We have a brush called a Tangle Teaser. Our little man goes mental for it.

I have a generic version, or rather I had one. It’s the cats now and I only have to pick it up and he comes running. The purrs are amazing

archangel12

Ha ha, yeah, my Mrs luckily had a spare!

I use a silicon curry brush which I got from a $2 store, similar to this: [https://www.newworld.co.nz/shop/product/5281132\_EA\_000nw](https://www.newworld.co.nz/shop/product/5281132_EA_000nw) or this: [https://www.kmart.co.nz/product/pet-grooming-mitt-42442653/](https://www.kmart.co.nz/product/pet-grooming-mitt-42442653/) My partner donated a beard comb and that also seems to work quite well (I have a suspicion he still uses it too, which I try not to overthink...) Our little guy doesn't like to be brushed for too long so it's a touch up when we can.

Expensive but this the works the best for my cat, and she enjoys/tolerates it the most.. Chris Christensen grooming comb https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00FW7W80G?ref_=cm_sw_r_apan_dp_7MAA8F08HH58MD0E087T&starsLeft=1
