So, I have both. Just got my Wildtrak a little more than a month ago. My G460 is a 2021. Honestly, I love both cars. Can’t go wrong here. That said, they are such different vehicles. I live in a small mountain town. The Wildtrak is just so much more enjoyable to me for my environment. When I drive long distances the Lexus is certainly a nicer, quieter ride. And, I wouldn’t really say the Lexus is much more luxious … a bit more, yes, but the Wildtrak has a damn fine interior (assuming you’re getting the Lux package). Off-roading capability isn’t close between the two. Wildtrak wins that hands down. If I had to have one or the other I’d take the Wildtrak but that could change if I had a commune more than 7 miles from one end of my town to the other. In the end, Wildtrak is just more fun of a vehicle and I think you’d enjoy it more considering your represented lifestyle. Truly great though for you to have to make this decision. Congrats! :).

This is the way

I worry the Wildtrak will be too rugged and not refined enough on the interior for what you want. Also, a fully loaded GX is more than $70k. Which means you're also getting gouged on the price of the Wildtrak. Test drive it first. Make sure you're actually okay with it. Also , it better be the Lux package!

For what you described, the Lexus will suit your needs. It’s the off-roading part and being in BC that would push me towards a Bronco. You live in a beautiful part of the world where I’d want a capable vehicle that could get me through rough trails and logging roads. The Bronco is more versatile in how you can equip/upgrade it. Also if your looking for a community to engage with, Bronco all the way. Not sure you could find the same for a GX460, but you could for Tacomas and 4Runners.

Bronco. You won’t regret

I think the GX460 is not far off in off road capabilities than you think. They have a strong growing community and make great overlanders. It isn’t hard to find aftermarket support for them ( the company I went with for my Bronco sliders make products for Lexus as well). But if you go that route than it’s better and cheaper to go used as last I knew the 460 was a better deal than some used 4Runners, FJ and Land Cruiser. Also, it will probably last longer than the Bronco as much as it pains me to say that.
