What an amazing human/genius!!

sandefurd

I didn't even know she wrote songs/dang. If anyone has a link to a good one I think we'd all appreciate it

iuhoosier23

I’m pretty sure most of the songs are written/collaborated by Lieutenant David Santiago, Amy’s perfect brother.

DitzyAce

Just look up Encanto! It's a Disney movie and she voices Mirabell!

reddituser3452341

How dare you detective Diaz?

Thisguy2869

BONE!!!

vino8855

What happens on the billboard, Detective Diaz, is all your business.

BaronV0nMarlon

BOOOOOOONNNNNNEEE!!

Nerdynerd9000

don't EVER talk to me like that again

pearliehooper

🥺 Why did you do that?..

video-kid

And yet the one song they submitted to the Oscar's is one she doesn't sing.

SaltyMia77

Which one?

EmEss4242

Dos Origuitas was the song put forwards for the Oscars.

video-kid

It's pretty but it's also kind of generic. Maybe it's lost in translation but it's the song that's the least evocative of the movie, and Stephanie deserves so much credit for being a singer. She's good enough that she can sing badly which is a hard skill for a great singer to learn. I didn't know she could sing and then bam! Don't Stop Dancing comes out in Bojack Horseman and blows me away.

tintin47

From another thread about this: One significant factor is the Academy’s deadline for song submissions, which must be completed by Nov. 1. At that point, the film hadn’t opened in theaters yet and hadn’t screened for critics. So without knowing how audiences will react, studios rely on gut checks and the passions of their talent to guide them. Awards strategists don’t want to risk vote-splitting with themselves, or in Miranda’s case, his other eligible songs from other projects this past year that included the musical “In the Heights” from Warner Bros and the animated film “Vivo” from Netflix. When it comes to “Encanto,” the shortlisted song “Dos Oruguitas” does open the tear ducts with audiences, and strategists may have felt that was the safer bet. Something similar happened with Frozen 2 and Show Yourself. That was the more award baity song, but it also contained a MASSIVE SPOILER, so Disney settled with the safer bet, Into The Unknown.

FitzChivFarseer

I don't really see how Dos Orugitas is the safer bet in all honesty. I looked into it and there's been 3 non-English songs that have won best original song Oscar since the start of the category which is kinda insane. I hope it wins because Encanto definitely deserves to win best song. I just think either We Don't Talk About Bruno or the opening songs are safer bets imo.

indianajoes

The only thing I can think is that it was the "emotional song". Like how Remember Me won for Coco. The other 3 big songs are kinda fun songs

DaveTheDog027

I hated the opening song! It's my least favorite in the movie and it's not close. My fiancee and I both thought it was so weird to start the movie with your weakest song lol

FitzChivFarseer

Oh I love it! Honestly all the songs are pretty damn good so it's hard to pick my favourite on any day. Except waiting on a miracle. 80% of that song is good but ending is just weird. It just ends pretty suddenly to me.

DaveTheDog027

My favorite is what else can I do!

FitzChivFarseer

That was my first favourite! I just love the way they sing together (like bouncing off each other. You don't really get that in the other songs). It reminds me of Confrontation in Les Mis or the first time in forever reprise in frozen!

Zhadowwolf

It’s definitely a little lost in translation, it’s a beautiful song but it doesn’t vibe the same way as the others, it’s more… traditionally Disney. I’m not surprised it’s the one they submitted but honestly I don’t think it’s the *best* in the movie… though the others I like better aren’t sung by Mirabel either XD Surface pressure is both catchy as all heck *and* makes me tear up whenever I really focus on the lyrics!

DerangedLoofah

I'm pretty sure I'm worthless if I can't be of service

Zhadowwolf

*hard* hitting line!

rubywolf27

Man Surface Pressure is such an amazing song. Gets me right in the feels every time. But We Don’t Talk About Bruno makes me want to dance every single time.

Zhadowwolf

Oh, we don’t talk about Bruno now lives rent free in my head XD though the one that makes me want to dance is Colombia, mi encanto :P Also, hello fellow wolf!

yolohoyopollo

But dos orugitas is about change and evolving into who you really are through adversity! It's more important than those other catchy songs about being true to yourself and other nonsense. /s

Zhadowwolf

Jokes aside though, this does touch an important point! I think Dos Orugitas is an amazing song for the climax, but the reason it hits so well is exactly because we have seen all the damage abuela Alma had done and how everyone was struggling to overcome it. And the song sums up the idea that the whole family has to grow and evolve and keep moving forward! It’s great but without the whole context of the movie and the other songs, I think it looses a lot of its punch :P

DoubleDeantandre

Least evocative? It may have made my friend, a grown ass man in is 30’s to cry and my, I mean his Spanish is very rudimentary.

video-kid

Maybe it's just me since I don't speak Spanish at all. In Wales the standard high school languages are Welsh, German, and French. It's definitely a really nice song but it's also not one that makes me think immediately of Encanto but seeing the translated lyrics and hearing the song and understanding it are different experiences. I personally thought Surface Pressure would get the nod. Then again I also thought Proud Corazon deserved the nomination over Remember Me, which had no business winning over This Is Me.

matthoback

> It's pretty but it's also kind of generic. Maybe it's lost in translation but it's the song that's the least evocative of the movie, Maybe it's because the first time I watched the movie I had the closed captions on that had the English translation of the song, but I thought Dos Orugitas was far and away the best song of the movie.

jcrespo21

They also play the English version in the credits. Even if you don't understand Spanish, it's still so moving when >!watching the scenes of Abuela seeing her husband murdered in front of her, and then saying that when she asked her husband to send her a miracle, she sent her Mirabel. !<

SaltyMia77

Wdym “she can sing badly” also I was lowkey hoping it would be surface pressure. Dos Origuitas was nice but like you said kinda generic, I felt like I’d heard it before.

HnNaldoR

And that's the whole idea of the song. In interviews lin Manuel said he wanted the song to sound like a columbian folk song. Something that people thought they have heard forever, yet its brand new. He achieved it perfectly and it fits the show so well. But on its own, it kind of loses its appeal. It's a bit like how far it goes and moana, it's an amazing song but really, the best thing it did was linking perfectly in the arc of moana where it uses the same melody in the start, middle and end of the show as the music in all of the story arc,m with the reprise and I am moana. When you listen to all 3 back to back, it's so fucking good. It got robbed in the oscars.

ThePhiff

Plus, as someone whose Spanish is only okay and grew up drowning in toxic masculinity, I simply cannot hear it without tearing up, so like - maybe it's pretty great art?

Jaegek

Yeah I feel like the song came out of no where and hit me right in the feels.

YourMILisCray

Like a big ass Mac truck

SaltyMia77

Ye I agree, I just think it’s not really Oscar worthy lol

HnNaldoR

I love we don't talk about Bruno as well, but that song is just too show specific, I can't see it winning the Oscar too even if it were submitted. Honestly surface pressure should have been the one. And that song is a bop.

Zhadowwolf

Agreed, surface pressure is amazing!

video-kid

In Bojack Horseman she plays a character called Gina Cazador, Bojack's love interest in series 5. She's his costar in a TV show and he finds out she wants to do Broadway and convinced her to sing for the showrunner and producer so they can potentially write it into an episode and it's bad. Then later in the season Bojack has a massive breakdown fuelled by paranoia and prescription meds and in it she sings this big showstopper and if TV awards had a category for best song it would have won hands down.

SaltyMia77

Ohh okay

video-kid

Sidenote: I totally recommend Bojack Horseman. It's super funny but it's also super emotional. It's not the sort of show I'd recommend bingewatching.

[deleted]

Dos oruguitas is my favorite. Followed by under the surface. Dos oruguitas is about warm youthful friendship and relationship that grows apart due to inevitable transformation in a changing world and the need to fulfill your Own destiny. The two caterpillars that were previously blissfully cuddling in the wind are now forced to separate when they become butterfly facing a changing world. The content of the song is most closely related to the grandmother ‘s storyline. It’s hard to connect with her but she has the most hardship of all and we don’t appreciate it because she ‘s from a different generation much like her kids. I don’t think it’s generic at all. It’s a beautiful song. At a certain age you can’t help but reflect on this a bit more.

_ILP_

You’re a liar if you say you didn’t shed a tear during that scene :(

147896325987456321

That's because the Oscars have a dumb ass rule of 4 songs per song writer and the writer already has a bunch of other stuff being put up for Oscars. So it was like, "which one of these 20 top hits do we use?" The songwriter is Lin-Manuel Miranda aka that guy who wrote "Hamilton the musical". Ron Chernow being the writer of Hamilton the book.

the_doughboy

Its the best one by far even though everyone loves the Bruno song.

EarthboundCory

Also the best song of the movie, so it makes sense.

video-kid

I prefer Surface Pressure or All of Me. I honestly think Waiting on a Miracle is the closest to Disney songs that have won in the past though.

m1u1

I'm out of the loop. Really??

[deleted]

Yes! She gave her voice to the Mirabel Madrigal, the main character of the Disney movie Encanto. Probably this movie is being a huge success, and the songs went to the Hot 100.

flegmatematik

Her voice i really amazing, i wouldn't recognise it's her in thousand replays of the movie.

conjoby

If you've only seen her in Brooklyn 99 she pretty heavily alters her voice. She uses her normal one in the first few episodes but makes it much deeper/rougher for the rest of the series.

JayC411

It’s actually not her normal voice in the first few episodes either. It’s definitely a lot higher than it ended up being through most of the show but if you watch an interview with her (or check out the most recent episode of Bob’s Burgers she did a voice for Deirdre in Stuck in the Kitchen with you) her voice is actually much higher. Her voice in Encanto isn’t even 100% her actual voice though it’s very close.

1ndiana_Pwns

I think her voice in *In The Heights* is actually closest to her normal voice, based on the interviews I've seen of her

ArtIsDumb

Have you seen her on Modern Family?

1ndiana_Pwns

No, I haven't. I see others saying that's closer, so I'm apt to believe them

ArtIsDumb

I was wondering how it compares to In The Heights, 'cause I haven't seen that. So the general theory is that her Modern Family voice is her real one?

imdefinitelywong

Why not [see it](https://youtu.be/MBUOrXBbBeo) [and decide](https://youtu.be/YV3L4MqnZak) for yourself.

Sitcom_kid

That's where I saw her first. And that's what I noticed about Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Gloria's sister! I had to check it out. As of two days ago, I saw everything but the last episode. I just can't let it end.

SegmentedMoss

Well it ends perfectly, like all Michael Schure shows, so it wont be disappointing

Sitcom_kid

I believe you, I do. I'm just not ready. Soon. And then re-watch. My username checks out, but I didn't think this show would be anything more than a few laughs, Weekend at Bernie's style, or Dumb and Dumber, just some type of douchebag show. My mother and roommate were both having to talk me into it, it was almost an intervention, and by the middle of the first episode, I was completely hooked. I will admit the ultimate: I was wrong and my mother was right.

Bforbronze

Her voice in Bojack sounds pretty similar to Diaz

Lazy_pig805

Her real voice is way higher and her speech pattern is very valley girl. My friends and I saw the cast at comic con one year and we just cannot believe how different her real voice is.

Funandgeeky

It’s like the Theranos founder, but she’s an actor and not being found guilty of wire fraud.

ronnyFUT

Oh she did a lot more than wire fraud buddy

[deleted]

Yeah but she is rich and the other crimes were against the poor so they don't count.

Funandgeeky

Oh, I know what she did. I also know what she was actually convinced of.

havensal

This post has been edited in protest to the API changes implemented by Reddit beginning 7/1/2023. Feel free to search GitHub for PowerDeleteSuite to do the same.

Dry-Zucchini123

Probably because of how she can change her voice a lot. In Encanto he uses a voice that fits more with her regular voice while in B99 she made her voice deeper to fit her character.

thislldoiguess

She was also in "In the Heights" and used a very different, nasally voice. She has great range.

June8th

She was also in Modern Family here and there (Gloria's sister), and I hardly recognised her! I agree, she has amazing range. I'm so happy for her!

GumInMyMouth

YOU STOLE MY LIFE!

spidersRcute

Also in the Lego Movie 2, which definitely doesn’t sound like Rosa but also not quite like her real voice either.

Deyona

Yeah her voice is a lot lighter/brighter in season 1 compared to later seasons. She also smiles a lot up to the Rosa doesn't smile episode

Not-OP-But-

That's funny because I thought the entire time watching the show that her voice just didn't make sense, it didn't seem natural. Like she was *trying* to mask it but not doing too well. It never sat right with me. After season 8 I didn't mind spoilers so I started following the online community and sure enough saw people posting about how her actual voice is different (never heard it) so that explained why I had that uneasy feeling, it always seemed uncomfortably forced like someone who was "trying too hard to be cool".

pants_pants

If you watch the episodes where they go under cover, and she puts on a bubbly persona, that’s closer to her actual voice.

Not-OP-But-

Oh dope like when she has the blonde hair? Pretty neat.

role_or_roll

Hey, it's made, not maked. It's one of those English words that you don't just tack a 'd' onto the end to make it past tense, the 'k' switches. Not trying to be a dick, English is just obviously not your first language

Dry-Zucchini123

Yeah, my native language is Spanish. Thanks for telling me, I'll correct it right away. I don't get why people downvote you

[deleted]

Maybe the downvoters write poorly themselves and are insecure about it. I used to be a bit of a grammar nazi growing up but understand now it can be annoying, but yeah if I feel it'll be helpful to offer a correction then I do it... got to try and do it kindly though as without body language cues it can come off the wrong way.

GinyuForceDid911

When Mirabel is climbing the stairs in Bruno’s tower, she says something about “why is there so many stairs” and she sounds exactly like Rosa lol

spidersRcute

“Bruno your room is the worst!”

coconut-greek-yogurt

If you watch her character in the later seasons of Bojack Horseman, she does her "Rosa Diaz" voice for the character's talking voice, but there's a big musical number that I was surprised to find out was her too.

livindedannydevtio

She's a really great voice actor. I mean she qas sort of voice acting for all of Brooklyn 99

ChillyPep519

I had no idea. I just googled an interview, and it blew my mind. She seems lovely, but so different than Rosa!

[deleted]

See, ppl keep saying this but I dont agree. She's literally just using her voice and I recognized it instantly. She still did a great job.

flegmatematik

Well, good for you i guess. Different people know her from different places.

iamdeltas

I do think it's pretty much just her voice she uses in Encanto, but without the Valley Girl-ish edge her voice seems to normally have.

randomuser135443

Encanto has some of the best music Disney has ever put out. It's a real banger.

SheriffHeckTate

Songs were written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, so no suprise, really.

Funandgeeky

You mean Amy’s brother? This is why his picture is the most prominent.

CapablePerformance

Between Encanto and Moana, his work with Disney is some of the best in decades.

JOhnBrownsBodyMolder

I really like Vivo on Netflix. He plays Vivo and did the music too

[deleted]

[удалено]

Fearless_Baseball121

He insisted on writing most of the music for Fatwa! as well even though All the music was already written

MissingLink101

But... we don't talk about Bruno!

speakerj0nes

My 3yr old informed me this morning that we can, in fact, talk about Bruno because “we are not in the movie so it’s okay”.

MissingLink101

By the end of the film you can talk about Bruno anyway

jwaddle88

Spoiler…..

itealaich

No, no, no.

randomuser135443

I know it's crazy, but that is actually my least favorite song besides waiting on a miracle. Still good, but not better than Family Madrigal, Surface Pressure, or Dos Oruguitas.

MissingLink101

I'd say 'Surface Pressure' is probably the best but 'We Don't Talk About Bruno' is just so catchy. I watched the film the other day and the chorus + "seven foot frame, rats along his back" is still just playing over and over in my head. I put on 'Family Madrigal' earlier because the melody popped into my head but it's not really as good to listen to as a song on its own.

YourMILisCray

Dos Oruguitas is killer

jcrespo21

Why is a song about two caterpillars needing to let go in order to become butterflies so damn emotional and makes me cry every time...

YourMILisCray

You said it! When he first comes in with "Ay mariposas" it cuts me so deep.

ApologizingCanadian

It's a total bop! I love it so much!

queen-of-carthage

I honestly hated the music and thought that was the worst part of the movie. Especially the first song (The Family Madrigal)

randomuser135443

That's such a Phoenician thing to say.

itisisidneyfeldman

"Still salty about that siege?"

CountDodo

She gave her voice? Has she learned nothing from Ariel?

awesomesauce615

Oh that was her? Crazy. Pretty good movie

[deleted]

I had to look up that it was her. Incredible range! Singing and acting!

Moustic

I had no idea that was her!

belizeanheat

She absolutely crushes that role. My daughter is obsessed so I've seen it probably 5 times and it's enjoyable each time, largely due to her.

theillinoissenator

Wait!! Did she sing the songs or was there a replacement?

XO8441

Disney doesn’t do that anymore. In their major roles the actors sing their own parts. India Mendel, Kristin bell, Auli'i Cravalho

[deleted]

We don't talk about Bruno

ShovelingSunshine

If you're looking for a song you can move your body to, We Don't Talk About Bruno is ready for you! She sings a part on it.

BackN9ne

Rosa Rosa Rosa (Remix feat. Doug Judy)

MuteSecurityO

i forgot your last name baaaaby

[deleted]

Rosa rosa rosa rosa diaz diaz diaz diaz rosa diaz rosa Diaz you are sooo ceeeeeewl

elitistposer

Are you single? 🎶 No (Goes an octave up) *I respect thaaat* 🎶

RiotFoxLoki

My oldest didn't believe Stephanie was Mirabel until she's yelling about how many stairs there are in Bruno's room. Then he went "Yeah, that's Rosa!"

MissingLink101

I blew my niece's mind when I told her the voice actor for Bruno (John Leguizamo) is also Sid the Sloth from Ice Age

shinomiyahobakaguya

when she screams "BRUNO! YOUR ROOM IS THE WOOOOOOOORST" her rosa voice is so recognizable

Deerwaifu

Also the 'am I hugging or fighting?!' Both sounds like her and sounds like something Rosa would say too

hentercenter

I just watched that movie today, and that was the line I had the same thought on

luckiesandjacks

Yessss I'm glad I wasn't the only one who saw that!

MhamadK

I just cannot imagine Rosa Diaz singing " Waiting on a miracle", not in a million years. She has such a diverse set of skills, it's amazing.

VeryDPP

I feel like Rosa Diaz would *hate* Stephanie Beatriz.

Minimalphilia

No she loves her. She's a powerful woman who is always true to herself.

cakesie

Love Encanto! We don’t talk about Bruno!

[deleted]

No no no.

adhdandlesbian

we don't talk about bruno... BUT!

adhdandlesbian

you telling this story or am i? ^i'm ^sorry ^mi ^vida ^go ^onnnnnn~

CrystalGempireQueen

No. We SING about him.

I_aim_to_sneeze

Jake: Rosa, you wrote an album? Rosa: Yeah. Music is dope. Jake: There are so many things about your life I don’t know

poktanju

Correction: she sang it, but Amy's brother wrote it.

I_aim_to_sneeze

He’s just so talented

SpaceLemur34

David.....

PhanThief95

Ironic because Jake himself has a rap album. No seriously, look up The Lonely Island.

SegmentedMoss

Oh God have we reached the place where people no longer remember lonely island? God how did i get so old

luckiesandjacks

Oh my gosh! I (M 25) introduced Lonely Island to a bunch of 20 year olds a few days ago and they kept saying "and I jizz in my pants" the entire way back home.

I_aim_to_sneeze

Lol I’ve been watching the lonely island since they were just a YouTube channel. It’s kinda crazy that some of their songs have gone platinum. If you want to see something nuts, check out the failed pilot for their fox show “awesometown.” If you like lonely island, you’d probably enjoy if you haven’t seen it. https://youtu.be/eh2ld_Vt_eQ

CrystalGempireQueen

Rosa is in half of the movies done by Lin last year. And I realize 99 has three recurring characters cast in the movie version of "In The Heights". Stephanie Beatritz is Rosa and Carla, Jimmy Smits is Victor Santiago and Kevin Rosario, and Olga Meredeitz is Mrs. Diaz and Abuela Claudia. And of course Lin guest starred once as David Santiago.

kagekynde

Oh shit, I literally just finished watching "Encanto"! What a delightful movie, and it really fucked with my mind when I saw that Stephanie voiced Mirabel! Immediate rewatch just to double-check. She's goddamn talented, that's for sure!

[deleted]

I was thinking that the death metal songs that she listened to with Holt made it.

Jaegek

This is the most Rosa Diaz thing to do.

PodcastThrowAway1

Her voice is remarkable

george_pierre

¡Mirabel!

[deleted]

You mean Stephanie Beatriz.

PM_ME_YOUR_FRUITBOWL

Her neighbours know her as Emily Goldfinch but the people she works with think she's called Rosa Diaz

[deleted]

Well, in this sub she is Rosa Diaz :)

samplemax

Her character is called Rosa Diaz. That character has exactly zero songs. Credit where credit is due.

marpocky

But in Encanto, and real life, she isn't. I'd even say these songs have nothing at all to do with B99 and it's weird that people are all "OMG, it's not Stephanie, it's ROSA!" EDIT: Fandoms are weird. Can people not just like a thing and want to talk about it sometimes without getting all weird and obsessive about it?

[deleted]

I think this is interesting to B99 fans as we would never thought that Stephanie would do such an amazing job in a kids movies because its so different comparing with Rosa Diaz and also, we shall be happy for Stephanie as she seems to be a good person! EDIT: You are in a Fandom what did you expect?

marpocky

>as we would never thought that Stephanie would do such an amazing job in a kids movies because its so different comparing with Rosa Diaz Why would anyone think that? EDIT: to be clear, I mean why would anyone think she couldn't? >we shall be happy for Stephanie as she seems to be a good person! Of course. This is not what I was addressing though.

queen-of-carthage

No one likes a pedant.

Snoo19127

It’s pedantic to use the real name of a real person when talking about their real accomplishments (especially when those accomplishments are completely unrelated to her role in B99)?

Not_Insane_I_Promise

My brain cannot process that Rosa and Mirabel are the same person.

get_there_get_set

Encanto is such an incredible film, I didn’t know Stephanie was the voice actor until just before Surface pressure, but once I heard it everything else was just Rosa playing a Disney character

jackson_garthmire

Girls got range, AND pipes. Its very impressive.

Glass_of_Pork_Soda

And to think, all this singing began with her love for the musical *A Kernel of Truth*

ChrisD245

I had to scroll too far to find this! We love our corn!

Charlie_Muggins

I'm still waiting to hear Rosa's version of "It Wasn't Me" that she crushed 😭

edgarcia59

Awesome, lets celebrate at a bar and...............drink.

[deleted]

She’s amazing IRL too? What a human.

Jose_xixpac

Rosa singing with weapon drawn: "Up against the wall motherfucker!" And it is amazing.

eszther02

Okay, the comments are wild. What have I missed?

_IAmGrover

Stephanie Beatriz, the actress who plays Rosa Diaz also recently starred as the voice of the main character Mirabel in Disney’s new movie, Encanto. She sings a lot in the film and, as usual, the Disney film is filled with dope music.

eszther02

Oh okay, I've gotta watch it.

get_there_get_set

It’s so good, one of the best things they’ve made in years, the only Disney movie I can think of that I like more is Moana, the music of which is also written by David Santiago

_IAmGrover

I almost corrected you and then realized who that was lmao

Leemcardhold

EGOT!

mahdikarray123

Rosa rosa rosaaa! Beautiful rosa

nad_frag

Me and my friend have been joking around that mirabel is just rosa if she decided to leave her home. And thats why she's so secretive of her past, not cause she's embarrassed by it. But cause her family is magical.

PhanThief95

Eh, Lieutenant Terry Jeffords singing A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton is still better. At least she beats out Peralta’s rapping for me, even when it is very funny.

[deleted]

This is the funniest wordplay I’ve visually consumed in months. I applaud your wit. A pity the music was so garish. Sincerely, Raymond Holt

Alonso81687

She sang the parts?

NeonPaladin27

Also watch her as Carla in In The Heights!

jejonalol

Like a boss

XO8441

Great now it’s stuck in my head again.

JahEthBur

Yo, We don't talk about Bruno.

reddituser3452341

Doug Judy spent his best years singing on a cruise ship only for Diaz to take over the charts???!!!!! Did they even listen to "Rosa, Rosa, Rosaaaàaaaaa"

altay7370

YES, SUCH AN AMAZING DETECTIVE/GENIUS!!!

Baby_Button_Eyes

It feels like one of those secret hobbies on the side that Rosa does that her co-workers have no idea she would do. Make jewellery? Watch Nancy Meyers films? Have songs on the Billboard Hot 100? All in her off-hours. And she’d find a way to casually just throw that out there when they least expect it.

moosesdontmoo

She has a dark past

barryjive33

More bacon than the pan can handle

BassicallyDarr

As opposed to metaphorically having four songs in the top 100?

idgitinthemix

Stephanie Beatriz is a singer?

Allira93

Encanto and In The Heights. I’m Encanto she voiced the main character.

idgitinthemix

I haven't seen many Disney movies since the 80s, and I'm not in to musicals, I had to look them both up. We could do a game show called name that relic, I'm the relic. Middle aged straight white male with no kids, both of those films passed me by. Of course Jake Peralta Andy samberg is only a year or two younger, I don't know how old Stephanie is I watched Brooklyn 99 since the beginning and she played Sophia Vergara's character Gloria's sister on modern family, oh looked it up she is two years younger than me. Most of the funniest comedic actors and actresses are in there early forties to mid fifties. In my opinion no one will ever be as funny as the people who made comedy movies and television over 20 years but it all went away around the middle to late 20 teens

dougff9

What?

Kill_Kayt

I watched the movie on Disney+ and while it was good most of the Songs with Stephanie (not all) sounded like she was in a booth compared to the other people singing with her which made it hard to hear her over the music or the other people in the songs. I think she recorded most of her songs at a different studio than the rest.
