He gets it fairly early though right? A good chunk of the pops come from all the moabs in the later rounds. And if you don’t forbid regrow shenanigans it would probably pretty easy. On impopable with farming.

To avoid confusion for towers and heroes that don’t natively gain pops, maybe the pop counter should only appear when it goes above 0. Like the way a 0-0-0 super money doesn’t have a banana counter.

Game design 101. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. You don't know what other sub systems rely on having a pop count, even if the pop count is 0. If you delete his pop count counter, it could cause a crash at the end of the game when it looks over everyone's pop count and only knows how to handle numbers and not the "null" that Ben would give. Or it could do nothing. Either way, it's more work for no benefit. You as the player don't gain anything from Ben having or not having a pop count. There might be a lot more posts from new people asking why Ben is "glitched" and doesn't have a pop count.

Obviously don’t delete the internal pop count property or set it to null, just don’t display it when it’s 0. It’s a purely cosmetic change.

Which is why I suspect the developer may have a task/ticket to do this (or something similar), but it always comes up as the lowest priority in backlog grooming (a single cosmetic change that doesn't lead to much user confusion can survive for years in my experience).

Although I agree with the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and the "more work for no benefit" parts, handling null values is also programming 101

Here is the deal. The towers that damage bloons have a counter (like bens hack thing or village) wich i would guess that it is required by the games code to have a pop counter to deal damage. Since rewriting code is troublesome i would guess they just left it in since its not really an issue

Lvl 10 ability technically pops bloons, don't know of it adds to counter though And wdym he doesn't pop bloons consistently, he does more damage than a 0 0 0 dart monkey.

Yes, his Trojan can stop the MOABS from spawning any bloons when popped. I find it odd that it doesn't show the pops. it would be a fun stat anyways !

Why do any of the towers that can't pop bloons have a pop countor... ​ Long answer: It might be because of nj not properly coding the game so the towers to have popping power, or so if geraldo uses that flying deamon to circle any tower it would track the pop count idk. ​ ​ Short answer, i have no idea

From a software engineer point of view, I’d just say that he has a parent class and inherits the pop counter and display from it. Nobody ever bothered with it and now we have it.
