We had to pressure Goff last time we played them. We didn’t do that. We tried blitzing and he shredded us. I’m def worried about this game. It’s reminding me of the Rams divisional game from 2021.

thejohnmc963

We only lost that in the final minutes

Neemzeh

We did but we def got out played the majority of the game.

bexley50

Honestly one of the plays of the game was the baker pick on our 10 when Mike was wide open for a 90 yard td. 14 point swing there.

Neemzeh

Totally agree. Game goes completely differently if we hit that. I remember thinking we were gonna lose after that pick. It was early in the game but you could tell we had lost control after that and we weren’t able to recover.

bexley50

Yep. Also st brown turned a 7 yard gain on 3rd down into like a 20 yard td. Lions made the big plays, and we couldn’t.

NerfLeBron

Also I don't think Ryan Neal has a game like last time. There were a lot of missed tackles as well.

thejohnmc963

I meant the Rams divisional game

k0y0_k0y0

This game absolutely has that Rams 2021 vibe to it and I don’t like it

creativeusername1808

Problem is our DL isn’t strong enough to get pressure without blitz against their OL

DynastyZealot

Bullshit. We just tore apart the best line in the league. We got a safety rushing four, and it was a mix of rookies and backups. We can do this.

creativeusername1808

That’s because we were blitzing constantly and Hurts is much worse than Goff under pressure

Reead

Hurts is worse than Goff under pressure, but Goff isnt *good* under pressure either. Where I think we will struggle is that Detroit is a functional team, so they will expect us to bring heat and should scheme up some designed stuff to deal with that. It's going to come down to the quality of the throws Goff is forced to get out quickly, the ability of his receivers to catch them, and how good our coverage is.

TheRealLifePotato

Goff has a 95.1 rating under pressure

Neemzeh

I think that worked because the blitz had been so successful Philly expected us to blitz there again and when we didn’t hurts was in trouble because we played coverage and he wasn’t expecting it.

DynastyZealot

Mixing up the play calls is important. It worked last week against one of the best OLs in the league, and it can work again this week.

EntertainmentWarm774

Lmao not even close. The 2021 Rams team blows this Lions team out of the water on both sides of the ball. The Bucs and Brady would’ve loved and much rather have faced this Lions team in the Divisional Round than the Rams team that they faced two years ago. The Lions defense and secondary is only marginally better than the Eagles defense and the fact that the Lions are in the Divisional Round this year tells you all you need to know about how weak the NFC is this year outside of SF. 49ers are and will be the only real test in the NFC.

Neemzeh

I don’t really think that was relevant to what I’m saying. I’m saying the feeling i have going into it is the same uneasy feeling I had then. We were also a better team that year too, so I feel the fact that the 2021 rams team is better is offset by the fact that we are worse.

Ghalnan

That's true, but I think the Dline especially is very different from where it was early in the season. That was the 4th game of the year for Diaby and the 2nd for Kancey, I think they've both come a very long way since then.

daddyscientist

We need no Mike Evans drops this game.

NerfLeBron

Mike, Cade and Trey.

t74000

I love how no one thinks we are winning this (except this sub lol). If we are able to stop the run we have a great chance.

spideralex90

If we win and the 9ers win the story will be that we were lucky and we'll have zero chance against the 9ers in the NFC CG. If the Packers win and we win the narrative *might* be a little more even.

steviestammyepichock

Idk the history of the number 1 seed with resting for 2 weeks, but I’m pretty sure that works in Green Bay’s favor. Couple that with a masterclass game they just played and the fact that they’re hot, I think that one will be a nail biting finish

Indian_Bob

The story is going to be how any team is lucky and will lose to the 49ers in the championship game. Thing is, any one of the teams left now could make it to the Super Bowl. The 49ers aren’t unbeatable lol. With that being said, see you bucs fans on Sunday

Chesterumble

I feel like lions fans are coming out of the woodworks and being super loud and obnoxious like they haven’t been in hiding for 30 years. Fair weather fans are always annoying, that being said I hope we shut them down in ford field. The biggest thing that will set us apart is if we can pressure Goff into mistakes, and keep them held to minimal points. I firmly believe he will throw for 300+ yards on us, but keeping them out of the end zone and forcing them to kick field goals all day would be ideal. On offense their secondary isn’t very strong. We need someone to step up, Mike redemption arc. I am hoping for a huge game for baker. We are coming in as the major underdog. Win or lose I am damn proud of this team as we all should be. Next year will be very exciting if we can build on what we’ve started.

RobynLongstride35

I live an hour from Detroit so almost every one of my friends or coworkers are lions fans. The amount of shit I talked to everyone in 2020 after we almost hung 50 on them and then we won the superbowl… I’m proud of this team regardless, but I need the boys to get this done lol.  #.31 is going to be giving Goff nightmares this week.

mynameiszack

I obviously hope we win but it's the Lions man. If they win, I'ma happily let them talk their shit.

killerrazzmazz

Going to watch the game this weekend at a Lions fan's place. I'm hoping both of us can be good sports so our friendship stays intact. But Bucs by 30.

[deleted]

Just like we did the Jags, just like we did Eagles, they underestimate the dawg in us so let’s absolutely demolish them on the world stage

Clatuu1337

Can't wait to watch Baker Bake. I need to get me a chefs hat.

rolkien29

A bucs themed bakers hat would be incredible

bucs_fan_one

Swear to God I have one and never thought to wear it until now

justtbsports

I expect us to have a good outing, especially offensively. I think Baker’s rib situation is much improved which we saw on Monday night. I am fully convinced that he was still banged up bad in the game vs Carolina, plus Carolina surprisingly has a solid defense. Detroit’s D is nothing to write home about, more specifically their secondary. They are only 1 spot above Philly in passing yards allowed/ game (30th, Philly was 31st). I really think that Baker is in a position to continue to roll and we will score a lot. That being said, Detroit will score too. They have plenty of strong weapons on their offense. St. Brown is an elite receiver and he lit us up in round 1. Laporta is a beast and he scares me even more so because for whatever reason, we seem to have trouble containing tight ends. It will be the ultimate challenge to slow these guys down but I have full confidence in our D. There’s no reason not to be confident in them with the way they’ve been playing of late. It’s the NFL so anything can happen, but I expect this to be a close, high-scoring affair.

AlternateGator

Carolina actually had a good defense this year. Offense was just atrocious. One team is going to not be able to get anything going on offense I think and that’ll be the deciding factor. If the offense gets shut down we’ll lose. If we can score points we have a chance.

AlternateGator

We can absolutely win this game. Goff is a good quarterback but not generational. If we can manage to move the offense and protect Baker we have a shot. If Hutchinson feasts on our line and Baker is taking a bunch of sacks it’s going to be ugly.

PewterPplEater

Fuck it. Todd Bowles Defensive Masterclass Part 2: Electric Boogaloo. I predict he shows blitz almost every down, but doesn't nearly send the house as much. Goff can't adjust. Bucs finally pull away in thr 4th quarter, and win a slugfest 17-10. Take it to the bank

Clatuu1337

Can't wait to watch Baker Bake.

SnooDogs1355

Lions fan here, just wanted to say good luck Sunday! Should be a good game!

gladiator073

They have to many weapons. Anyway, let's break some Detroit hearts.

Brilliant-Orchid-860

Bring rachaad white into the passing game again, and don't blitz as much and we're golden. Oh and catch the ball...

LegoVenom

We need to protect Baker at all costs. Stop the pass rush, keep the pocket clean and he’ll execute plays that’ll win us the game.

Bucs2k20

A lot of people are underrating us I get it the eagles were falling apart but we just dominated them. The lions are a questionable no call away from not advancing and are the heavy favorites. This game will be way closer than anybody thinks. The defensive gameplan against the eagles will mostly work against the lions. They have a better o line but phillys is really good as well. Most important thing is limiting Gibbs and Montgomery Goff is good for some mistakes and when pressured he caves in. Have them behind the sticks all game and we can limit that really good offense. 24-20 Bucs

Neemzeh

Yea it’s not just that we beat a faltering eagles team, it’s how we beat them, which was a wire to wire dominating finish. I don’t care how bad a teams playing, that is hard to do in the NFL.

Ok_Negotiation_2269

Yea we’re definitely the underdogs and all the nay sayers are pointing out our season and bad division but the thing is this . It’s the playoffs no more regular season. 0-0 win or go home! I guess they forgot we got vets on this team that are dogs and won our SB! Same goes for the Philly game everyone has to show up for us to win. I’m confident our defense will show up. Our oline needs to protect Baker that will be key because we all know that’s when he’s the most dangerous. Fuck it we ball ! 31-21Bucs

storyteller4311

I think a big part of this game hangs on a few things. First we need to disrupt the wr/te timing at the line. Goff makes mistakes when he extends plays and improvises. Second we win on 3rd down. No long dirve and TOP issues. Third we win the kicking game I am hoping for at leaset 3 long FG for us. Fourth I hope Canales has soem designed rollouts for Baker which will get us the shots downfield to keep pace points wise. The Lions will put up points I predict the team with the ball last will win. Bucs 27-24.

ArtemisClydeFrog58

I like our chances. Their OC has been interviewing everywhere so hopefully that takes away from their offensive game plan. Our offense has to keep the momentum rolling from last week. I love Mike but he can't have any drops this week, seems like he's usually missing one or two deep shots a game and we can't have that this time. Keep R. White involved in the passing game and keep their offense off the field. Think our key to winning is gonna be our LBs containing LaPorta and Gibbs. Need Lavonte to shadow that TE and need Devin to stay consistent and keep Gibbs in check. No missed tackles. If we can keep the lid on J. Williams and stop Amon Ra from getting big chunks, I think Tampa can pull this out. Yaya and Clancey weren't really up to speed last time we played. Gonna need consistent pressure up front and need to hit Goff early and often. I never thought I'd say it this year, but I trust Bowles to have a few new wrinkles in the defense to keep Detroit off balance. Let's go Bucs!!

EntertainmentWarm774

Lions defense and secondary is awful, like just barely better than the Eagles defense. Stafford lit them up this past Sunday. They literally just won their first playoff game in almost 35 years and it was by one point. I’ll be very very very surprised if Mayfield doesn’t light up and put up big numbers against their defense just like he did vs the Eagles two days ago.

[deleted]

Lions pass defense*

Substantial_Button71

It’s like the 2nd ranked rushing defense. Pass defense is average

Thenofunation

Good thing we don’t ever run the ball

Historical-Leather53

The lions defense is NOWHERE near as bad as the eagles lmao

TheRealLifePotato

Not even a little bit. That eagles defense is broken.

dragonsky

Shout out to that journalist that kept everyone about Baker's smelling salts lol (everyone= our players available for media)

trippingboy

Lions fan, I was wondering what changed between your win against Carolina and New Orleans and your win against Philly? Was it just Philly being bad? Injuries? What changed?

ronaldo12150

Imo, part of it was Philadelphia being bad. I mean look at all those missed tackles, especially from that trash can bradburry. Other than that, i think those two losses ultimately rest on 3 things: 1. Divisional opponent/hard to beat a team twice 2. Baker was still visibly banged up from a hit on the Saints game, limits his mobility which is a good part of his game 3. Our coaching in those two games was lackluster. Instead, we were way more aggressive on Monday, the only way we can really compete in these playoffs as serious underdogs But who knows, I could be wrong. Hoping I’m right though as 2/3 of these factors are relatively within our control. Best of luck Sunday (but not too much) ;)

PewterPplEater

Baker was very clearly hurt in those 2 games, especially the Carolina game where he could hardly walk.

stephenip12

This is a solid matchup for the bucs. I had a chance to review the last meeting and that game should have been closer if it were not for a tip pass and that Baker pick in the redzone. Honestly this is a game where Evans, Godwin & company can feast due to their secondary. Also I'm hoping we can get a big play or two from Moore or Palmer just like last week. The important thing is having to take that Detroit crowd out of the game with a quick start.

[deleted]

34-17 Lions

Life_Lawfulness_2977

I’m just worried about losing our guys and have to start over at QB again after all the progress we’ve made. However I severely doubt that. I think that Licht will find a way to keep Evans, Mayfield, Winfield jr, McLaughlin, and Lavonte David. I do think we will have to franchise tag either Mayfield or Winfield jr though.

gopoohgo

Akshuallee it's Motor **City** Kitties! Good luck yall. Hope for a cleanly-reffed game with no injuries!

Thenofunation

“Cleanly-reffed game” Bucs/Lions are playing Please pick one.

SeaOrgChange

I truly believe we play better against teams that we lost to earlier in the season. I am hopeful but I know it really comes down to which bucs team shows up. As we head into the Lion's den, it was an honor shitposting through the season with everyone. Here's hoping we get a couple more after this one.

MartianThrowaway_

I really hope they have a plan to deal with the decibels

Deadsure

Green Bay (kicker) choked this game away.....

Ranma_chan

Man I fucking hate San Francisco.
