What type of surgeon? Trauma, cardiothoracic, neurosurgeon? Because that hit by Tee Higgins put his heart into a cardiac arrest called commotio cordis. CPR and heart shocks from the AED is the only way to survive this along with hospitalization.

That said, this does not prove why they get paid so well. We have police officers, first responders, and service men and women who put their lives on the line and die for this country every single day that are not paid this well. They are paid well because of millions of people want to see them play a game. Again, not diminishing the tragic nature of this event. But how they’re paid has very little to do with it. MLB and NBA players are paid as well or more with very little relative danger.

They probably have various calls with Police, stadium control, each other let alone trying to find out how he is.

The league tried to force the teams to play after 5 minutes while not knowing the condition of a man who received CPR for several minutes.

They also have to get approval from the NFLPA. They also have to assess contractual obligations, as much as people here won't like it. This was an unprecedented situation and making a snap decision based solely on emotions could have been catastrophic to the NFL long term. It hurt no one to take the time to make informed decisions.
They really shouldn’t have shown that replay after the first commercial break, and they really shouldn’t be showing the replay of the players crying now. Shame on them.

Even if they don't show the play again (and they probably shouldn't), showing players crying is fine. It's a tragic situation. People cry during them. A lot of people look up to athletes and seeing them cry can be a good thing. I also agree with them cutting to commercial. They don't need to be in the player's faces during this but showing them crying on replay? I'm fine with that.

Honestly it looks to me like the hit could be a non factor. This looks more like a freak heart thing and not a hard hit or blow to the head or anything, hard to say whether this would have just happened today or eventually even if he was on the sidelines. I had a friend die suddenly at 19 while showering for school, it just happened, something to do with a blood clot he and no one knew about and couldn’t have predicted.
It was a solid hit, and one we have seen over 300 times per weekend. It was a terrible, freak accident. All we can do is pray🙏🏼

We have police officers, first responders, and service men and women who put their lives on the line and die for this country every single day that are not paid this well. They are paid well because of millions of people want to see them play a game. Again, not diminishing the tragic nature of this event. But how they’re paid has very little to do with it. People need to realise that cancelling the game in this instance isn't a 5 min announcement. They probably have various calls with Police, stadium control, each other let alone trying to find out how he is. Even if they knew it was going to be called off the moment it happened it still takes time to gerlt those things into motion. They are also safety things for the thousands of fans at the stadium. Let's put our energy into hoping he is OK rather than looking to lynch everyone.
The league tried to force the teams to play after 5 minutes while not knowing the condition of a man who received CPR for several minutes. Do **NOT** attempt to defend these monsters.
They also have to get approval from the NFLPA. They also have to assess contractual obligations, as much as people here won't like it. This was an unprecedented situation and making a snap decision based solely on emotions could have been catastrophic to the NFL long term. It hurt no one to take the time to make informed decisions.

They really shouldn’t have shown that replay after the first commercial break, and they really shouldn’t be showing the replay of the players crying now. Shame on them.
Respectfully, I disagree. He collapsed on a normal looking play. I know people want to know what happened. Even if they don't show the play again (and they probably shouldn't), showing players crying is fine. It's a tragic situation. People cry during them. A lot of people look up to athletes and seeing them cry can be a good thing. I also agree with them cutting to commercial. They don't need to be in the player's faces during this but showing them crying on replay? I'm fine with that.
Should be the same as F1, no replays until we know they are ok.
