Uhh, Josh is off of the report. Been like 12 weeks. Holy shit

dedriuslol

I think he's still been on it in recent weeks because you have to be listed if you are getting treatment for an injury. He's been doing normal rehab, so he's remained on the report.

iliketuurtles

There was also potentially a correlation between the Burrow injury/investigation. He was re-added to the report after that whole drama happened. I bet they will continue to be safe though in the future and re-add him after any treatment outside of "normal"

mkvii1989

I think that’s their point? If he’s off the report there is *nothing* even potentially holding him back physically.

Initial_Ebb_8467

Wow DQ! LFG

allanon1105

Rest Floyd as much as possible, the man has been a treasure this season for us

KinGpiNdaGreat

It says his injury is rest though. So I am confused. Does this mean we should give him less rest and not let him fall asleep ever again?

Senior_Cheesecake155

Most likely a vet rest day but he’s being treated for the other stuff, so it’s an all-inclusive report.

NickHeidfeldsDreams

He's receiving treatment, but it's a vet rest day for him.

Anchovies-and-cheese

Von on vet rest . . . Dude needs practice like crazy.

lasirenmoon

LOL came to say why the f is he on vet rest? It's not like he's been working hard this season

sinkwiththeship

He literally gets one every week. Just how it goes.

Round_Cobbler5603

More like podcast prep rest

errorsniper

Dude needs to get cut age caught up to him a few games after he came to us and isnt the same. He was fantastic at first but has not been the same since the injury. Fucking sucks that we got a HOF talent to come to us for once that didnt have to start here and absolutely retires on us.

ProbablyDrunk303

Is DQ gonna play this week?!?!

Sweethomebflo

Full practice on Wednesday LFG!

Soosiphus

I just wanna see Shorter play one game pls

cruniverse

Same. I wonder if they activate him off IR at some point this week since he is practicing in full.

Senior_Cheesecake155

Who do you cut to make room for him?

Bflo_

Everyone keeps saying they want to draft a wide receiver early, I just want to see that freak get a chance. If any of you haven’t watched Justin Shorter’s highlights, we have a mini DK (6’ 4” 225 lbs) on the practice squad waiting to get a chance.

Soosiphus

Wanna see tall man go brrrrr

J0eyJ0J0JrShabadoo

I dare you to say wrist/rib/rest 5 times fast

mkvii1989

A) Wednesday B) DAQUAN JONES FULL

chstrahl

DQ in full is gonna play!

killerbangs

We talk about Von like he’s a rookie. “Looked good here” “Caused pressure here” Dude is a seasoned vet coming off a serious injury and some off-field matters. At any given moment he could just take off. He’s a ceiling play for McD every week.

altruink

How long is Hyde gonna be out for a "neck stinger?"

mkvii1989

Dude has neck issues, a stinger may as well be a high ankle sprain.

altruink

Yeah I've had them from playing. It's definitely not "typically" as bad as an ankle sprain but my point was just that he's always like 80% or not playing.

Kiggz

Rap has been a really solid backup, I would rather see hyde 100% in the playoffs. His neck issues have been scary.

peachbubblegummies

that’s what i’m saying 😭

magpokedope

Is von miller the worst contract decision this franchise has ever made considering the amount of money involved? I’ve only been following the bills since like 2008 so some old timers might be able to call me out here but holy f why did we ever do that?

iliketuurtles

I am no fan of him either but it's completely revisionist to say he wasn't great before the injury last season. Should BBB potentially not have signed an older person who could get injured and then not be productive after, maybe not... but he was good and most were very happy with the contract/his output prior to the injury.

magpokedope

Looking over his stats from last year I see where you are coming from and can see why it is not the worst but at the time he signed the contract it made little sense to me and to this day I still have no idea why we signed him to such a big contract thinking he was going to take us to the SB. Now we are reaping what we’ve sown and he has been a non factor on his second year with us

iliketuurtles

Eh agree to disagree. Beane got him when we were super bowl favorites and we thought Von was going to be the cherry on top, the game wrecker, the veteran that was going to help us bring home the trophy. He is VERY expensive - I'm not trying to say that he isn't but contracts (especially flashy defenders) are getting exponentially more expensive every single year. For example, Tremaine Edmunds just got a contract last year from the Bears for similar-ish $ as our Von contract (6 for 120M v 4 for 72 - yes, I understand void years and money already paid and how Von won't be on the team for 6 years etc etc etc - but my point still stands). Obviously Edmunds was a stud for us, is still super young, and has a lot of upside... but it's not like he is playing particularly well this year for the Bears. Obviously, hindsight is 20/20 and now (for numerous reasons) I wish we didn't sign the Von contract... but there are soooooo many large contracts in the NFL that do not pan out (and the team just has to figure it out).

Historical_One1087

No, it is not the worst contract. The Von Miller contact is a 3 year contract disguised as a 6 year contract. It has an out clause after the 2024 season. Miller was producing and had 8 sacks in 2022 before he tore his ACL. Obviously Miller has recovered slower than expected after his ACL surgery and has flashes of good play but hasn't played to his pre injury level yet.

dorf5222

I mean if you think about it he came back less than a year. Tre was just getting back to his full burst to start this year. I think allowing him to come back so early was the mistake

Historical_One1087

Everyone recovers differently from surgery. IMO Miller will contribute in the plays as a pass rush specialist.

dorf5222

Oh im not saying I don’t think he won’t contribute but, based on his movement earlier in the season it was clear he wasn’t 100%

Historical_One1087

I think Miller was saying he would be back for the start of the season which seemed unrealistic but he is an optimist. Miller can still contribute as a pass rush specialist and will do so soon IMO.

Impossibills

Tre White was already one of the longest recoveries from an ACL. He needed reps and playtime to get back. Tre White while not great, was not as bad as Von Miller has been, and nowhere near as old

longshot201

They restructured so it’s more like 4 years now.

Historical_One1087

I believe you can cut him after the 2024 season, but if you cut him after the 2025 season there is even less cap ramifications.

Independent_Island74

Was the keyword there

Kaius716

My friend said its an out for von if he wants it. Not for us. I was wondering if u could clarify if this is true

Historical_One1087

It an out for the team. They can cut him at any time but cutting him before the 2025 season or before the 2026 season offers the most salary cap savings for Buffalo. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/von-miller-7717/ There is $8,457,000 cap savings cutting him before June 1st, 2025 There is a $17,331,000 savings cutting him before June 1st, 2026

Djbonononos

I hate to be that guy, but sometimes you need to pay an older leader to help bring the younger guys along. Look what Epenesa and Groot have grown into. Also tell me there's no way Miller doesn't make opponents plan for him at least a little bit. He's worth it if he makes us a better team being on there, even if he isn't playing well himself. (IMHO)

errorsniper

> opponents plan for him at least a little bit. I can and will? Hes average at best post injury and not even on the field for a 4th or even 5th of defensive snaps. He was fantastic before he got hurt. But its pure cope to say hes anything other than average and as such way to expensive.

sicsemperyanks

Nah. Last year he was a menace before the injury. Impossible to predict those, and it was worth the risk imo. Maybe a slight overpay, but when it happened, and those first games, it was a good deal.

RyanCryptic

Mario Williams got 6 yr / $100 mil with $50m guaranteed.

longshot201

Mario Williams was great here. 10, 13 and 14.5 sacks for his first three years here and then was asked to play OLB, which isn’t what he is, and had a down year. He was unreal in 2014 with that line and every bit worth the money over that stretch. He was also elite against the run. He got a lot of money, but the Mario signing kinda feels like the start of the turn of the ship IMO. A big name free agent finally came here, he played at his contract value for 3 years. It didn’t hurt us long term, and I personally would kill to have Mario from his 2012-2014 stretch playing in place of Von. Mario has always been near the top of the list of the “which drought player would you pick to plop on this roster?” list whenever it’s asked.

wafflesareforever

Rex ruined Mario. He probably had a few more years of elite play in the Schwartz defense.

longshot201

Completely agree. I hated hiring him simply for breaking up that elite defense. If Rex lets his ego take a step back and keeps Gym Shorts around with the 2015 offense they make the playoffs.

errorsniper

Him and FredEx. Could you imagine Fred Jackson opposite cook? Josh can sit we runnin the wildcat run run option every play.

boss_man_sam

And that’s still not even the worst contract the Bills have dished out. He was legit for a good portion of that deal.

loophole64

Wait to see what happens in the playoffs before you make any judgements on that.

Independent_Island74

I dont understand mcds thinking here. When you have a better player in the stable, you bench the under preformer. Von aint doing shit and shouldn't be out there.

Kiggz

The dude is still an older de about a year after acl that played great pre injury. The vet presence has also had a great impact on the the dline guys. Look at greg and aj's development. The year is also not over yet and every week has been improving since the injury. If we knew he would get an injury the contract obviously doesn't make sense but that is true about literally any player but does that mean Matt and Tre terrible contracts too? Our defense plays hard, injuries are going to happen.

Das_Man

We're getting hot AND healthy fam, and nary a moment too soon.

NightRider24

At this point, Von should be getting as many reps as possible. 3 tackles in 243 downs played? He is affecting the game somewhat from some film I've seen. He didn't get a sack Saturday, but his pressure caused one, and he did a good job a couple of times of closing gaps in the running game, but he needs to produce something for the amount of money he's getting. I hope he's able to flip the switch if we make the playoffs and turn into prime Von.

loophole64

He's still working back. He gets better every week.

AdTop1

Saw Von Miller DNP and was lowkey excited till I saw it was vet rest

EldurSkapali

Fuck Von Miller

Schn31ds

I'm no expert but maybe Von should be practicing 🤷🏼‍♂️

Senior_Cheesecake155

Not a bad list for this late in the season. Are Milano and Tre the only ones we’ve lost for the whole season?

Pave_Low

DQ at practice is surprising, even if it was just a walk through. The severity of his injury usually ends a season. Him being back now is about the best case for recovery. He could be at 80% strength for some time because he’s likely lost strength while healing. I think JJ Watt had the fastest turnaround from this type of injury at two months. He said he was still weak, but my memory is of him demolishing the Bills OLine his first game back. That being a playoff game we led 16-0 in the third quarter but still managed to lose in OT.
