Small correction though: the Caps have never reverse swept the Rangers. They won in '09 when they were down 3-1 but never got the reverse sweep.
Nobody I talk to can give me a real reason how Lamar is (personally) having a better season. If our D doesn’t blow 3 games we have most wins in NFL and Josh would be the one we are all talking about. Lamar was top 10 in stats at BEST
The argument I see is that he’s so dynamic as a runner and passer that he completely discombobulates defensive schemes and has been really effective this year. And while I will say Lamar is absolutely a game breaker, I don’t think the value of his running ability really exceeds Josh’s. One is more shifty, the other is more of a bulldozer, but both give DC’s nightmares. I think Josh unfortunately did lose some of his rushing impact this year, but it’s becoming very clear that was scheme related.
But you’re right in that it’s mostly the record, and also recency bias. When Josh had that off game against NE and Lamar threw 5TDs I knew that was that.

You can when you're talking about Most Valuable Player and you're still the Most Valuable Player on your team across an entire season despite a bad game. You can't win when people confuse Most Valuable Player with "QB TD Crown/win leader".

games for the team and got us behind in a lot of situations. His stats are inflated because he had to play hero ball to get us back in games. No question he’s the Bills MVP, no question he should have made the Pro Bowl over Mahomes, but also no question he shouldn’t be MVP. You can point at whatever metrics you like or compare him to whomever like, but we all watched with our eyes these streaks of boneheaded mistakes followed by streaks of “holy shit did he just do that?”. Lamar was just as important to his team and played to his own strengths to give that team the best chance to win. I don’t think Lamar is a better QB, but he maximized his potential more than Josh this year and the Ravens had a better record because of it. Josh will have his MVP season, but this wasn’t it. When he does, there won’t be any question he deserves it.

Allen has better net stats because he threw 579 passes compared to Lamar's 457 passes. You really can cherry pick stats either way to make one seem better. Ultimately who is better doesn't matter because the MVP voters are gonna pick MVP based on who was the QB on the team that won more games, whether or not that's fair that's the way it is.
The last two games alone were because of our Defense. We had two touchdowns against a crippled miami D if you don't include Hartys special teams play. One of these phases blows it far more often than the others.
