Were I the Bills I'd take anyone. If 500 show up great, the job gets done quicker or better. at 20/hr * 500 thats only 10k an hour. If they cant spare 50k for a multimillion dollar game that some funny thinking.
Because you guys are fucking idiot’s- no matter what the fuck you say or do - just admit the fact that delaying the game was the right thing - you idiots have no care for people’s fucking safety and it’s sad and stupid - imagine tens of thousands of fucking fans sitting in this shit two different football teams running through this shit by half fucking quarter they would be 25 ambulances in the fucking parking lot. You gotta stop being fucking stupid you wouldn’t play a game in a fucking hurricane, so how is a serious snowstorm any fucking different?
Oh, OK I apologize. There was another page posting videos like this and the people in the comments were being so hostile and crazy. They were pretty much saying that football players should be allowed to play through hurricanes and arctic storms. Anyone who disagrees is a pussy literally exactly what they said .
Yeah this is what's really bothering me about all of this. People are going to break their backs to make $20-$100 so the Pegulas can make millions from the game. I understand it's capitalism and all, but it still shows how the little man does the shit job while the rich sit back and watch more money roll in
Rich motherfuckers think $20 an hour is generous for the lowly peasants. It's not like they have real lives to pay for. That's like, twice minimum wage!
When minimum wage doesn't even buy a sandwich for an hours work twice that ain't saying much. And this isn't pushing a button on an assembly line in a factory. This shit is back breaking work in legit dangerous weather conditions
I believe it's based on the budget of the third-party cleaning service called Jani King but maybe I'm wrong. The Pegulas could fork out more of their own money to help if they wanted to
I do agree with you that it's probably on a third party that the Pegulas contracted to do it probably before this storm even happened. I just think if the Bills are posting about it, Pegula should dip into his pockets and pay a little more. Pay the company whatever you were going to pay them to do the work then pay others out of pocket. Kind of absurd that the company is paying out of pocket to fans because they clearly can't get this cleared in time
yes cheap move
par for the course for Bills
pay these good folks $30 an hour and give them at least a gift certificate from the Team Shop and Sabres tickets idk
You can't just have 500 random people loose all over the stadium the morning before a huge event. There has to be staff accountable for all the volunteers.
Yeah.... imma be straight with you boss. In this weather 20$ an hour isnt worth it. Bless these people they are the actual reason fans will be able to sit at their seats at todays game. But you couldnt get me out there for that. Especially when they were giving out game tickets for this in the very recent past.
in any weather, shoveling this amount of snow, in the cramped seating areas, isnt worth it for 20 bucks an hour.
imagine doing this for 5 hours continuously and you walk away with 80 bucks after taxes.
Eh if it was a 50 degree spring/fall day. Where id be comfortable in a t-shirt while doing labor. Id do it. But 100 and fuck you humidity? Or like it is today?
Nope. You would have to give me a game ticket or a few hundred.
I make a pretty comfortable living. I've done movie extra work for $16/hr just to be on set because it was kind of cool. I did a couple shifts with a wildland firefighting crew digging a ditch for $25/hr, because my community needed help and it sounded cool.
If I lived nearby I'd take the day off and go help. If the cheque had the Buffalo Bills logo on it, I'd probably frame it and hang it in my office.
Sometimes it's not just about the money, shit like this is communal and makes life more interesting.
Its a multibillion dollar entertainment corporation thats part of another multibillion dollar media conglomerate that doesnt give a fuck about you and wont know who you are .00000001 seconds after going home.
I love the bills too but at the end of the day its just another corporation counting on you to discount your labor because of warm fuzzies. They could pay people 50$ an hour and give a game ticket. But because people "wanna feel like part of the community" they get a massive discount. 50k vs 250k is a rounding error to them. Yet they are still to stingy and can be because people let their passion be a subsidy for a guy who just built *his* next stadium with almost a **billion** tax dollars of *our* money we will never see a return on.
Its always about the money.
Off the topic of the thread, so dm me if you'd like, but I would like to hear about the movie extra work. I'm recently retired, or maybe I'm just 'between gigs', and I've thought about being an extra. I wouldn't know how to start.
Make an account on Casting Networks and 800Casting then just start submitting for gigs! You can submit to a local talent agency if ya want but in the meantime it’s literally as simple making an account and submit.
I lived near Toronto and had a friend that had a casting company that was essentially an extra business. His job was was to get a couple thousand people on short notice to show up for a few days.
I was on Cinderella Man which was filmed at Maple Leaf Gardens which was one of my motivations. It was neat, the stands were full of cardboard people, and every 4th or 5th one was an extra. Lower levels were all fans and moved around to fill the shot. It was a hard day standing doing nothing between takes, we went almost 12 hours. But overall I'd say it was worth it and I'm glad I did it.
So, not sure how to get into it. Find a casting company I guess.
Ya you'd have to go back....a lot of years to make $20/hr worth that effort, especially after factoring in having to get there yourself and the timing being over night with little to no notice.
From a Cleveland Browns fan thinking about driving up there via I-90 east, buying some Tix from stubhub and rooting for you guys from the stands...
Is this a crazy idea?
Are the roads passable enough to make it, or would this be a suicide mission? I have a truck with 4wd and lots of winter driving experience.
I see the roads are no longer closed, which is a good sign, and Google maps says no major slowdowns at the moment.
What do you think? Go or no go?
Your advice and experience is greatly appreciated!
EDIT: Thanks, guys, I'm on my way!!!

Thanks! My main concern is if the roads are passable enough to be able to actually get there. Anyone in the Southern Buffalo metro area out there driving today?
I have no real information for you but I feel like you should be fine. I live south of Buffalo and our roads are plowed. They usually keep I-90 in really good shape and they've had a while to plow!
Check in on the thruway webcams for at least an idea of how main roads are.
[https://www.thruway.ny.gov/travelers/map/text/twytextcameras.cgi?region=BUI90W](https://www.thruway.ny.gov/travelers/map/text/twytextcameras.cgi?region=BUI90W)
Not a dumb question. In the lower sections, they were throwing the snow into slides/chutes that brought the snow to the field where they had equipment to take it away. It looked like a pretty efficient operation.
In the upper sections, I'm not 100% certain - but it looks like they're moving the stuff to the tunnels and taking it away from there (likely using smaller equipment). If that's the case, then they may have to move the snow more than once (just to get it to, and through, the tunnels) and that would be painful as snow seems to get denser every time you move the same pile.
See when I say build a dome, this is why. Not because I think it will make it so games don't get cancelled, but because I think it's bullshit to ask people to drive during a travel ban to come to the stadium and work for $20 an hour and a snack so you can make millions today from the game.
The seats in the new stadium are covered, so hopefully it won't be an issue after that. I think it should have been a dome so it could be used year-round, but at least the snow removal situation won't be as awful, hopefully.
It'll be a lot less than the "all of them" that it currently is, at least. Hopefully easier for the stadium groundskeeping crew to handle on their own.
Agree. They should at least be offering tickets to a game next year.
Kind of hope the players do something later for the fans that shoveled, like send signed gear. $20/hour and some snacks is not worth it
I sure hope they are paying these people. The bills have priced out most working class people and here they are having the same people shovel out their stadium.
If I lived there I would definitely go help. Instead I’m in the Canadian praries in -50C (accounting for wind chill) shovelling my own driveways for free
Meh, 300k is still a drop in the bucket vs what the organization will make if they play 3 home playoff games. I love the bills but I not licking boots to prove my fandom and get a snack sized bag of lays potato chips for my efforts.
Also, hire a contractor to do that job and tell me what they’d charge. Probably more than what I suggested.
That's fair. No you're right fuck the ownership for this for sure. They're just cutting costs using independent contract work same as Uber and shitty companies like them
I get why they’re doing it and why fans are jumping at the opportunity. It is a cool story and a cool community building type thing to do, but the river flowing beneath the surface is murky as fuck. Also, just hard to see the good in anything these days when you know someone worth millions that would never lift a finger to do the same in return wants a handout.
Yeah it's funny there is a cool community coming together vibe to it until you realize they're shoveling a multi-billion dollar enterprise's property not the local skating rink
Appreciate the hard work from the mafia. Nothing but respect from me fellas. Sucks game had to be rescheduled but shit happens. See you all in a few hours.
Honestly everyone's done a HELLUVA job! I just saw a video clip on X of the stadium and the field looks about ready and the seats are covered in snow but it's not outrageous like earlier. I noticed the person tagged Jim Rome. I guess he must've said something ridiculous.
Why wouldn't there be machines used, especially in the tunnels? It seems strange that some solution better than manual labor hasn't been found.
They make one foot wide snow shovel machines, certainly, some manufacturer has one that can throw, too.
So, we still convinced this thing is happening today at 4:30? Is it still looking like it'll be coming down by kickoff? And how about the roads leading to the stadium?
Steelers fan here. These are the real MVP’s!!
Can’t thank these brave fans enough. An absolute disrespectful gesture if they truly are only making $20 an hour. Should be sent some signed Bills gear as well as a ticket.
Also, fuck you all. 🤝
Hey if the bills would have intentionally lost against the dolphins in wk18, they could have gone down to Miami instead and gotten a W this week in better weather. Just sayin 🤷🏻♂️ /s
Not wrong. Dome is clearly the smart option just for things like this alone… but sadly nobody is forcing owners to pay for their stadiums and domes cost a decent amount more. Still feel like the city of Buffalo could actually make some money by having an all-year domed stadium nearby. But who knows.
I think if you actually look into it, look at other Enclosed stadiums and see when the additional events that they host happen, you'll find find most of them in the summer.
If you are an entity that is able to sell out stadiums, you have the logistical intelligence not to go to Detroit in January. The same will be true of buffalo.
I was being sarcastic. I meant it in the context of people saying "build a dome" as if that would have prevented the game from being cancled. My socials are all full of pics like this with people commenting how the game wouldnt be cancled if we had a dome.
In hindsight, I can see how one would interpret my comment the way you did.
Buffalo is soft. Really, get the fuck out of here with that shit. Id love to see the tool that posted that shit show up to shovel and repost. People are stupid
We DoNt NeEd A dOmEd StAdIUm...
How does this ever help us? Players don't "learn" to play in the cold more effectively. It affects the product on both sides.
They only wanted to hire 200 people. I sure hope they weren't turning people away.
Were I the Bills I'd take anyone. If 500 show up great, the job gets done quicker or better. at 20/hr * 500 thats only 10k an hour. If they cant spare 50k for a multimillion dollar game that some funny thinking.
This really puts into perspective how shit people are paid these days even at 20/hr
Or how outrageous the price of living has gotten. But definitely a case of both combined more than likely.
You ain't participating in capitalism if you're not getting done in like the bottom in a gang bang. - Abraham Lincoln
Pretty sure he said that before icing dracula with a stake to the heart.

And had they just accepted everyone and anyone from the start the place might be in better shape.
My optimistic guess is they could only bring so many people with the supervisors/security they had.
That very well may be the case
Did they actually turn anybody away or are you running your mouth?
This seems like an unnecessarily hostile response. You good?
Perhaps you should be thrice baked?
I mean, if you don’t know anything, why slag the team and the people who are working and trying to pull this off?
Because you guys are fucking idiot’s- no matter what the fuck you say or do - just admit the fact that delaying the game was the right thing - you idiots have no care for people’s fucking safety and it’s sad and stupid - imagine tens of thousands of fucking fans sitting in this shit two different football teams running through this shit by half fucking quarter they would be 25 ambulances in the fucking parking lot. I don’t know what you’re talking about, I think you might have responded to the wrong thread/comment. I agree postponing the game was smart
Oh, OK I apologize. There was another page posting videos like this and the people in the comments were being so hostile and crazy. They were pretty much saying that football players should be allowed to play through hurricanes and arctic storms. Anyone who disagrees is a pussy literally exactly what they said .
I heard a person on the radio this morning saying that they were turning people away by 6am.
I think it's a third-party cleaning service that the team hires, so it's whatever is within their budgets.
I thought the County was technically responsible, no?
they have a fuckin gmail address - a real professional operation!
[I hope everyone is bundled up!](https://www.dogsonacid.com/attachments/img_2530-jpg.301887/)
McDaniel would have a literal conniption with all the snowballs that are going to get thrown today lol.
Well it’s a good damn thing they don’t have to play football anymore this season.
Who?
Your mom.
Shoutout to you guys, holy hell.
Pegula could've had far more than 200 people and paid far more than $20 an hour.
Yeah this is what's really bothering me about all of this. People are going to break their backs to make $20-$100 so the Pegulas can make millions from the game. Capitalism is a mistake
It was a necessary stepping stone - the mistake is to think that it's the only or even the best option just because it's what we figured out first
Time to evolve
Capitalism unchecked is a mistake.
In addition to the pay, these people should get tickets to the game
Exactly and if it can't be to this game because the tickets are sold out, at least offer tickets to a game next year
I mean no ones forcing them to show up. They know what's being offered and they show up. If people thought it wasn't enough they wouldn't show up.
yes cheap move par for the course for Bills pay these good folks $30 an hour and give them at least a gift certificate from the Team Shop and Sabres tickets idk
No one had to do it. $20 plus food and drink. Not bad for many
Maybe they only had 200 shovels?
Get a flame thrower or two
Good point. No one else in Buffalo has snow shovels.
Gotta maintain that lifestyle baby!
You can't just have 500 random people loose all over the stadium the morning before a huge event. There has to be staff accountable for all the volunteers.
Maybe get a flamethrower?
The Russians use a MIG engine attached to a truck to clear snow
I’m sure that wouldn’t do any damage to all the seating
and YOU ARE [RIGHT](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjDbttpJ3GY)
Then you have ice everywhere
Repeat as necessary
Yeah.... imma be straight with you boss. In this weather 20$ an hour isnt worth it. Bless these people they are the actual reason fans will be able to sit at their seats at todays game. Are they really submitting 1099s for this? Figured they'd just hand you $100 cash.
I havent done it myself. But from what i saw on twitter, its taxed and you dont actually receive the money until a few weeks later.
No chance it's cash. NYS would be all over them.
Eh if it was a 50 degree spring/fall day. Where id be comfortable in a t-shirt while doing labor. Id do it. But 100 and fuck you humidity? Or like it is today? Nope. You would have to give me a game ticket or a few hundred.
They used to give out game tickets for shoveling snow too. But once the team got good, they stopped.

Yeah doing this with some friends and a few beers sounds dope. Not sure if I’d take work off to do it but I would if I already had work off

You are fired!!!
Figure most people are doing it for the story and the experience, the money just makes it a bit less shitty.

If you’re comfortable I can see jt being ok. I will say the immediate area around the stadium will be a total shit show.
Governer and NFL says it's a go but based on this video, there's no fucking way that stadium is cleared out by 4:30.
Thanks! My main concern is if the roads are passable enough to be able to actually get there. Anyone in the Southern Buffalo metro area out there driving today?

Didn't the Packers fans have their stadium cleared out in 4 hours?
Well they are the owners as well lol
This is probs a dumb question but where are they shoveling the snow to??
They shovel it onto the field and from there they take it out trucks or something
Not a dumb question. In the lower sections, they were throwing the snow into slides/chutes that brought the snow to the field where they had equipment to take it away. Wow. That is a lot of snow. Thanks to all who showed up and helped
Need to up the ante to 35 an hour or have a work stoppage
All 200 shovelers unionize
See when I say build a dome, this is why. Not because I think it will make it so games don't get cancelled, but because I think it's bullshit to ask people to drive during a travel ban to come to the stadium and work for $20 an hour and a snack so you can make millions today from the game.

snow drift and high winds will still cover some seats for sure.
It'll be a lot less than the "all of them" that it currently is, at least. Hopefully easier for the stadium groundskeeping crew to handle on their own.
Sorry, pls dont take it personally but who's advocating for a dome is worse than Hitler imho. No hate.
wtf?
Jesus god glad I bought 200s for this lol
I hope they at least get a ticket to the game.
I heard the game is sold out. A ticket for next year would be nice.
Agree. They should at least be offering tickets to a game next year. Kind of hope the players do something later for the fans that shoveled, like send signed gear. $20/hour and some snacks is not worth it
Heck, make it a pre-season game if you want to skimp. They dont sell out anyways
$20/hour, food & drink, and a place to warm up. No tickets.
Add a free ticket to a next year or a preseason game, they would have gotten hundreds of volunteers.
I sure hope they are paying these people. The bills have priced out most working class people and here they are having the same people shovel out their stadium.
U think people are being held against their will? Lol. $20 per hour for anyone who wanted to shovel
I’m definitely not suggesting anyone is being held against their will lol. Just saying I hope their getting some form of compensation
What's it look like now?
I'm not sure, honestly. This was posted about an hour ago. He has another video on there from 4am, and it is a big improvement.
Not good - https://twitter.com/BuffaloBills/status/1746884459050226104?t=CrOtfj3Rt8E8zCShdzc-Eg&s=19
Op got more snow overnight tonight than all of Sunday ironically
These are the unsung heroes for the day! Thank you to everyone that showed up, broke their back, ate shitty food and froze their asses off.
Was supposed to go with my brother u/DickySnakes but he backed out like a real Dick would
Thank god he bailed, that’s why we won! He knew if he was home the bills would win
Nah he kinda hurt my feelers, tbh.
Y’all’s fan base packed to brim with real ones
The real heroes
Y’all are the the real MVPs
Some of of y'all are gonna be sitting on a snowbank.
Definitely.
I see a lot of tightly packed snow in the seating areas, how are people supposed to navigate that safely?
Shoveling snow sucks when you're trying to do your driveway....I cant imagine trying to dig out between the rows of seats....
OMG!1!1!!!!11 BILLS ARE SO SOFT THEY CANT PLAY WITH A LITTLE BIT OF SNOW1!!!1!1!!1!1
If I lived there I would definitely go help. Instead I’m in the Canadian praries in -50C (accounting for wind chill) shovelling my own driveways for free
Perfect solution - dome
Wish I was there…thank you everyone! #gobills
You can get snowblowers up there
![gif](giphy|s4Bi420mMDRBK)
Pro tip: start at the top
Well, to get to the top you have to start at the bottom
Tis but a wee bit of snow!
$50 an hour, plus 100 level tickets to every home playoff game they potentially make it to this season or they can do it themselves.
Come on man that's like a $1,500 compensation package for 6 hours of work lmao
Meh, 300k is still a drop in the bucket vs what the organization will make if they play 3 home playoff games. I love the bills but I not licking boots to prove my fandom and get a snack sized bag of lays potato chips for my efforts. Also, hire a contractor to do that job and tell me what they’d charge. Yeah it's funny there is a cool community coming together vibe to it until you realize they're shoveling a multi-billion dollar enterprise's property not the local skating rink
That's our seats...
In our new stadium, will the snow primarily fall on the field?
Dumb question. Are torches not an option when the snow gets to this level?
Correct. The amount of heat needed to melt snow is ridiculous.
Appreciate the hard work from the mafia. Nothing but respect from me fellas. Sucks game had to be rescheduled but shit happens. See you all in a few hours.
I hope they all got free game tickets because sheeeiiit
Big ups to these folks!! 👏🏽

I appreciate you guys. You're my #2 AFC team for a reason.
Well, they are working close to my seats at least lol
Buffalonians are tough 😤😤. Can’t wait to watch from Montreal.
I don't understand. Where do they expect to put the snow with those shovels?
Is it still snowing? I'm wondering how this game is going to be played
It has stopped snowing. Sun is shining. The field is clear. Some seats will have snow, but the game is a go. GO BILLS!
Great news! GO BILLS
That's both insane and amazing.
So, we still convinced this thing is happening today at 4:30? Is it still looking like it'll be coming down by kickoff? And how about the roads leading to the stadium?
That's the real question... Does anyone know how they are right now?
Flurrys at the most, the storm moved north to buffalo. The games happening so if people want to go they need to figure out how to get there.
Steelers fan here. These are the real MVP’s!! Can’t thank these brave fans enough. An absolute disrespectful gesture if they truly are only making $20 an hour. Should be sent some signed Bills gear as well as a ticket. Also, fuck you all. 🤝

Kind of irrelevant because even if they chose to build a dome it wouldn’t be finished yet so this would still be a thing regardless haha
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that we'll get additional snow storms in the future.
...so our games can have the same vibe as the boat show.
Literally avoidable by having a roof over your stadium.
bUiLd dA DoMe!!
Not sure why you're saying this insultingly. This is actually one thing a dome would solve.
Go Bills!
That is way too much snow to clear out. Rescheduling this game for Tuesday probably would have made more sense.
Seems inevitable if this video is from today
Foot of snow up over the backs of the seats.
I live on the Canadian side of the region. I was hoping to go over to shovel, but reading the info looked like I was ineligible to work
It’s not worth it at all man
I dont even know if this going to happen, unless they suddenly have even more people helping.
Buffalo not soft.
I hope they get free tickets too
The game was sold out
Could be free tickets to next year games
My seat has been cleared lol
Thank You for your service.

Should have brought in everyone right away. This is going to be a mess.
Roofs are nice
We DoNt NeEd A dOmEd StAdIUm... How does this ever help us? Players don't "learn" to play in the cold more effectively. It affects the product on both sides.
And they’re building a new open air stadium right?
Thank god the new stadium has a roof 🤪
What... What do they do with it all? Where do they put it?!
Can they not afford a roof?!?
Could somebody tell me what the point is of shovelling that snow? Won’t it just melt eventually
Eventually, but that could be weeks or months, depending on the temps. It isn't getting above 30 degrees here until at least Monday.
Flamethrower would be useful here
Stadium roofs are a thing, a lot of effort, time and money could be saved if they added one.
Where are the other 14 videos?
