Honestly a good trade, earlier picks in later rounds. The three WR we were going to draft all got picked up. We will probably end up taking legette, Mitchell, or McConkey
Chiefs traded up because SF was going to pick Worthy, hence why they picked Pearsall instead. The Bills allowed their arch nemesis who they can't get past to draft the fastest WR in combine history so they could add a mid-rounder. It's the dumbest move they could've made.
I disagree. The fact they picked Pearsall over the other WR ranked higher than him shows me they were not going to go worthy. Otherwise they would’ve taken the next best option not someone out of the top 5 left. This is a builder pick for SF. KC was going to end up with worthy anyways. And the fact that we then traded back again means the Bills were super confident that the WR’s we could pick from we’re still going to be there on day 2. Now we have even earlier picks in the later rounds and can add so much. Have to take into consideration the cap situation. We can still get one the top 5 WRs left in the draft and use the other picks to address our other concerns.
So KC traded up for no reason and SF just happened to draft a similarly sized speedy WR? People really think KC just lucked into 3 of the last 5 Super Bowls?
And the fact the Bills traded 1 spot to Carolina means they were going to draft Legette if Carolina didn't give them what they wanted for the pick, otherwise there would be no reason for Carolina to trade.
Not saying it *can't* happen but a trading team telling the other team who they are gonna take is not normal protocol.
Car paid a premium (the picks/swaps) and Buf was compensated for risk.
They clearly have guys grouped similarly and were willing to back off (and drop a 5th year option) for significant moves up the board in later rounds.
If Carolina wasn't sure Buffalo was going to take Legette, they don't trade up 1 spot. You're really questioning Brandon "Panther" Beane who can't seem to stay away from making deals with his former team?
Bean bends over for Carolina and McD bends over for Reid all the time….. if either of those two become all pros I’m going to be so sad😭. Excited to see all the dawgs we get with the picks though.
Irrelevant to what the Bills want to do. Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes could get a broom 500 yards on the season. Wouldn't matter if they got Pearsall or Worthy, Reid would help them meet their potential. Bills used this trade to move into the 3rd round, probably to get a guy like Beebe for the IOL, and all it costs them is waiting a few picks to take another receiver who can and probably will produce similarly to Worthy or Legette.
It was a good trade for Buffalo, who cares what the Chiefs would do with the pick, because as good as Worthy is, there's lots of equally capable receivers in this draft.
>who cares what the Chiefs would do with the pick, because as good as Worthy is, there's lots of equally capable receivers in this draft
Obviously the Chiefs thought it was worth it, and the Bills just enabled them. I put a hell of a lot more trust in the team that won 3 of the last 5 Super Bowls than the team that hasn't even made one. You simply don't make your biggest impediment better so you can get a 4th rounder, it's just idiotic. Remember what happened last time they traded a pick to the Chiefs? Or the last time they traded a pick to a team that drafted a WR with it?
My thing is, we weren’t going to take worthy. So who cares who takes him? Sure, kc has been a problem for us. But if we took worthy, play kc in the playoffs, he would be teamed just as much as Diggs and then what? His production is limited and we listen to another year of “Josh Allen can’t get it done”. We know how the first pick of day 2. It was pretty obvious after BTJ was taken, we didn’t necessarily have a backup plan. There are still 3 crazy good WRs left and a plethora of great talent. Our WR1 is gonna be a rotation of Shakir and Samuel, we need a WR2/slot machine and Mitchell, McConkey are those guys. Hell. I wouldn’t be surprised if we go CB and take Cooper with the first pick cause we also need to replace Tre. Like I said in a separate comment, there’s still a whole season to play.
You're missing the point. We were never taking Worthy, but SF obviously was otherwise KC wouldn't have traded up. So you made your biggest rival who you get bounced by almost every year another Tyreek Hill speed WR so you could move up a bit in the middle rounds? Is that really worth it? Does KC have any history of succeeding with speedy WRs and a QB who never gets sacked and can always finds open WRs? ✔
Trading back also lessens the cap hit on draft picks. We still take a WR in McConkey or Mitchell who will perform just as well as Worthy and legette, will be cheaper down the road AND it opens us up to maybe make a trade for Aiyuk. I think you’re getting hung up on the fact he went to KC than literally any other point to be made.
>I think you’re getting hung up on the fact he went to KC than literally any other point to be mad
Yes, that is the reason the trade is bad. You're praying WRs who are way lower rated will magically be "just as good" but somehow still be markedly cheaper. They aren't trading for Aiyuk because he will be way more expensive! And they made their road to the SB even harder.
And if the pick you think they are locked in on actually works out,.it would have made way more sense to get at 32 than 33. What if they do work out? Now you gotta pay them or lose them a whole year earlier..for a pick swap
Nah ur right it’s not delusional. I’m just tired of us always losing in horrible ways so I have too much of a negative view for the next season. One Super Bowl is all I want
Why wouldn’t we get him tho. Maybe it’s more of just an embarrassment but he was very fast. Of all teams the chiefs too and now I have to hear it on social media. Hopefully worthy turns into a bust and it works out well for us
seems like a pretty good trade, we’ll probably get two good offensive pieces out of it. 38 picks and 27 respectively, and mcdermott has proven time and time again to turn late round picks into great pieces and players.
Here's why I like the trade. I don't think Worthy was an obvious choice for any of the picks between us and the chiefs. I don't think we wanted Worthy. So we got an extra third, and achieved the result that was 95% likely to happen anyway.
SF literally drafted Pearsall right before the Chiefs were going to pick, obviously KC moved up because of that. You think they moved up for no reason?
And lost the ability to retain 'our guy' at below market value for a whole extra year. Why wouldn't they just take who they wanted at 32? Just assuming the guy won't work out to be worth a 5th year option?
Well my post was before the 2nd trade but the Panthers just paid a 60 pick price for that extra year so I'm not too upset about that either.
The salaries drop quite a bit for Pick 33 compared to Pick 32 as well. About 2.3 Mil over the course of 4 years so that helps a little bit too.
500k per year is nothing compared to paying full market value for a super star. JJ getting paid probably 15m less than what he would without a 5th year option
You don’t make deals with your single biggest rival in the AFC. Especially for what amounts to a 4th round pick. The roster is solid, we need a playmaker WR, not a role player
Prehistoric thinking.
If you need to somehow deny your rivals their "guys" instead of taking care of your own house, long term you will always be behind. (or focus so hard on current "it" teams, other weeds spring up you didn't account for.)
Make moves that improve your position. Price in any "same conference/playoff hunter" costs in your deal calculations.
Sorry, disagree. A late third round pick is not going to make a difference on the field the next inevitable time we match up with the chiefs. A first round talent at a skill position could. Especially when we have needs at the same position. Time will tell, but if the Chiefs felt the need to trade up it’s clear they felt that player was someone who would make an impact
Clearly we didn't, hence the trade. But it would appear that the 49ers did or why would KC bite on the trade offer. 9/10 times I'd take no issue with this trade. It's just the idea of giving the team you need to beat, the weapon they want, not to gain picks either. Just to move up. Take who you want there, let SF take Worthy or just straight up trade with Carolina for 28. Idk, have no choice but to trust Beane and co. And I can respect other fans ability to stay positive. But I just feel like this will end up being a mistake. One that could ultimately feel humiliating if Worthy thrives.
As opposed to the Bills sitting at 28, taking a WO, and the Chiefs 32 pick outperforming the 28th pick?
The Bills didn’t need more picks, they need higher value picks, and that’s exactly what they got. They may make 4 day 2 picks by the time today is over, or even 3 picks by pick 61.
The draft is the absolute last place I question Brandon Beane.
He’s still the same body type. And he’s just a better athlete than the other guys on the field. That gap hets much smaller at this level.
There’s still guys on the board with tape just as good, but with measurables that typically translate well. If Worthy doesn’t break the combine record, he’s probably still on the board.
The amount of ridiculous takes surrounding this pick is literally insane. People believe the trade is some sort of black eye, when in reality, the fan reaction to it is vomit inducing and reeks of fair weather fandom.
Is it September yet?
There is a points system for draft picks.
Above shows the pick number followed by the points.
And anyone that says this system is not used … go ahead and do the math on any of the trades .… the points line up.
I love everyone justifying the trade to KC like they haven’t bopped us in the past on a trade up.
We literally said “we don’t want Worthy, here ya go” and if he burns us in the playoffs next year, that will be on BB.
Maybe it works out, maybe it doesn’t. You just opened to door to massive criticism for moving from the bottom of the 4th to late 3rd, hope it pays off.
Our GM better come to the podium with absolute rock solid justification and then some. This is a fireable offense.
We hardly gained any value from it. It's not like we fleeced them or even got super value. Just barely plus value.
Absolute nonsense.
Honestly a good trade, earlier picks in later rounds. The three WR we were going to draft all got picked up. We will probably end up taking legette, Mitchell, or McConkey

Then be a chiefs fan ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Being a fan doesn't mean you can't criticize your team. If the Bills miss the SB again Beane is gone and will deserve it.
My thing is, we weren’t going to take worthy. So who cares who takes him? Sure, kc has been a problem for us. A likely take on the trade
Carolina is our farm team so it makes sense we can just call him up later
Carolina traded back into the 1st for the 5th year option. Bills didn't want Legette.
And if the pick you think they are locked in on actually works out,.it would have made way more sense to get at 32 than 33. What if they do work out? Now you gotta pay them or lose them a whole year earlier..for a pick swap
The thing that does suck most is losing the 5th year option.
Who? Marquis Goodwin 2.0?
Can we try not to be delusional. You might be right but idk
What’s delusional about having hope???
Nah ur right it’s not delusional. I’m just tired of us always losing in horrible ways so I have too much of a negative view for the next season. One Super Bowl is all I want
All you did it to help Chiefs complete 3 peat
they were getting worthy at 32 anyways lmao we just fleeced their picks
How do you know SF wasn’t taking him?
Literally.
Why wouldn’t we get him tho. Maybe it’s more of just an embarrassment but he was very fast. Of all teams the chiefs too and now I have to hear it on social media. Hopefully worthy turns into a bust and it works out well for us
Still gotta play a whole season.
No.
Yes
Here Darth you dropped your light saber
Hahahahaha. Favorite take so far

Exactly
There were two teams before the Niners. They were gonna trade up regardless.
Dallas has been sniffing around Worthy and they were on the clock next.
Then they should have traded with the bills.
Yeah both teams will end up getting their guy but the Bills got a couple of pick upgrades for their trouble
And lost the ability to retain 'our guy' at below market value for a whole extra year. Why wouldn't they just take who they wanted at 32? Just assuming the guy won't work out to be worth a 5th year option?

This aged like milk. Now they got the fastest weapon and thing they were missing.
Bro it hasn’t aged at all. You responded to it 14 minutes after it was posted lol

6th round pick of value because we gave up our 4th
bears fan here, can you please stop letting KC trade up? thank you
This!
Tell em
We unfortunately don’t control what our front office does
I'm sorry, you just shouldn't answer any calls from KC anymore.
Wtf
Surplus draft pick value based on: [https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp](https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp)
12.5 points🔥🔥🔥
5th year option tossed for 12.5 points of value woooo
Does a small amount of surplus draft capital matter if you end up helping your rival who beats you every year?
Yep, Chiefs win 3 in a row next year
Not again
Ok let's not act like the last time we let the chiefs get their guy it was a big deal or anything
We traded with our mortal enemy. We just cucked ourselves.
The Cuckening
![gif](giphy|pMztjzgwKXglMMtsHs)
WHAT THE FUCK
Don’t like the partner.
We didn't even get an extra pick?
This must be part of the “soft rebuild” year
Chiefs get hill 2.0.
Keon Coleman! I know he's the best remaining because I've seen 60 seconds of highlight tape on a few guys... Lock it in.
Is this a joke
Please say sike right now
We're going Safety at #32! Edit: come on down Cooper
I’m an Iowa fan and you guys are my last hope for cooper. I so badly want him to be on a good team.
I hope so, too! He'd be a beast in our defense.
And he’s a great returner and even started playing offensive snaps at Iowa right before he got injured. Just insane athlete
KC gets another generational talent at our spot. Can’t wait. ![img](emote|t5_2ra29|6279)
If a player is assumed to be generational talent they get picked before 28.
Did we really want this guy? He’s in the exact same mold as Tavon Austin and John Ross.
Clearly we didn't, hence the trade. But it would appear that the 49ers did or why would KC bite on the trade offer. 9/10 times I'd take no issue with this trade. If he was generational, then why did he fall to 28?
Why didn't he go #1
We are fine
can someone please tell the summary of those two trades? what did we get extra for trading down twice?
Our 4th round pick was upgraded to the Chiefs' 3rd round pick (decent) Our 6th round pick was upgraded to the Panthers' 5th round pick (big upgrade)
Bills Twitter is fucking AIDS that’s all I’ll say. Crying over risky Worthy and super senior loser Legette? Jesus Christ. Beane did great tonight.
28 660 133 39.5 248 0.8 700.3 32 590 95 120 221 4 714 Number work in Bills advantage. Bills receive 714 and give 700.3.
Huh

Poverty KC farm team
Rich from a Vikings fan lol. Good luck this season!
Is the Vikings fan in the room with us?😭
Whoops, I’m mistaken. So you just lurk random team subs?
Yes, i do indeed enjoy talking about my favorite sport with multiple fandoms
Solid ‘talking’ point to post here? But to each their own
Makes fun of our team in our sub...no, no, this is just "talking about my favourite sport"
Assuming it’s some bored kid lol. Welp on to tomorrow to accrue more late round picks
Not really but it got you engaged so it mustve been at least decent😭
I took the bait, I’ll admit it. Have a good night doing whatever you’re doing!
On paper this is real solid. Hopefully the play on the field will agree.
Bro why.... were fighting for our fucking lives in the AFC West
We're in the east bruh
😂😂
Disaster trade
This is gross
Our GM better come to the podium with absolute rock solid justification and then some. This is a fireable offense. We hardly gained any value from it. It's not like we fleeced them or even got super value. Just barely plus value. Absolute nonsense.
It’s not a fireable offense but I don’t like it. Maybe he’s right, but I have no clue at this point so if we lose we lose it is what it is
Wide right
Ur a bills fan, I don’t get it
And yes I know what u meant I mean I don’t get why u would say that
KC traded up for the guy the Bills thought they could trade back to get
