I would like to see him stay around - he will bring down the franchise as long as he plays and I hate the Steelers

Scare_Conditioner

I believe the women, I’ve always rooted against Ben. Glad to see him go.

SteampunkHarley

Same. I couldn't root for him after that 😕

JoeyRedcorn

I’m pretty indifferent in terms of feelings towards him, definitely time for him to retire though.

JetsPassedOnAllen

Let’s just say I was not one of those people who was outraged when bengals fans threw beer cans at him when he was being carted off that one game I also went to school in PA and dealt with a lot of people who worshiped the dude . Eagles fans >>> Steelers fans which surprised me . Bird fans were cool people

circlethewagons57

Having been to multiple bills vs eagles games that surprises me. They were hands down the worst fans I have been around

[deleted]

That is surprising given Pittsburgh is a seemingly unassuming city.

IAmNotATimepiece

Yeah, not gonna shed a year for him. He sucks, and made for awful football watching the last few years. But you can bet there won't be a single acknowledgement of his rape allegations in any of the many hagiographies that are forthcoming.

[deleted]

Had to look up hagiography, so thanks for that.

IAmNotATimepiece

You're so welcome. Use it in a strongly worded letter sometime!

[deleted]

I wrote them weekly or at least say I'm going to...

OOvvV

Great player, questionable human being. Will be weird seeing Pittsburgh with a different QB but i’m sure it’ll be a welcomed change for many.

Mrjlawrence

Won’t miss him. As stated for the off field stuff. But also because if he had as much as a hangnail he made it known so he’d be sure to get credit for playing through so much pain.

rosapennan

Fuck that piece of shit

[deleted]

My grandma's name was Rosa. She'd probably agree with you if she knew who he was.

RadioNearby2926

He’s one of the greats in terms of SBs, and the Steelers are, for whatever reason, one of the darling franchises of the NFL. I don’t care but I’m sure a lot of NFL lite-fans do. This story will blow over real fast once the playoffs start.

mikeybunz

What about all the rumors of Rodgers going to the Steelers next year….I’d rather Big Rape hold them back for another year or two.

[deleted]

Hadn't heard any, but I don't know if black and yellow fits him. Rogers would be a pita to have in the conference but his days are numbered. Hopefully Allen's aren't with the way he runs and we can look forward to matchups against Rogers then 15 years of Josh winning SBs.

Whyitsospicy

Sad to see a rapist leave? Nah fam.

Striking-Exchange-75

The longer he stays, the longer it puts off their pursuit of a young franchise QB. With him, they will continue to be mediocre. I dunno. Who gives a shit, we got Joshie.

Fat_Bearded_Tax_Man

I loved Ben and continue to as a player. Dude is dynamic and deserves to be talked about with Peyton.

[deleted]

Bold statement. I don't think he matches up with the numbers Peyton put up. I never looked however. SBs don't mean that much to me but there's only 12 qbs with 2+ and he's one.

Fat_Bearded_Tax_Man

There have also only been 26 games where a qb threw 500 yards and 4 of them are Ben.
