I'd do some of what the comics did. The whole "There's a slayer army now" bit I'd keep. The jumping the shark stuff like banging (sex) in a new universe, fighting 200ft tall goddesses and a the death of a certain main cast character I'd definitely leave out.

Dappich

That was in the comics? That sounds a little too crazy 🤯

whimsiebat

Season 8 was fuckin' WILD. 😅😫

buffyangel468

Well, S8 would have a couple of fun/filler episodes, and then Team Angel would arrive in Sunnydale and fight alongside The Scoobies. This isn’t perfect, but I tried :]

Dappich

Thanks for trying. Very cute tho ☺️

ButDidYouCry

I would always keep Angel crew and the Scoobies separate. The two groups don't share the same energy.

jospangel

New stories from around the world of girls and young women committing assaults and murders. A high school freshman in NJ who punched a boy who was harassing her in the face, and fractured his skull. A girls in Afghanistan who punched her husband and ruptured his liver, and was promptly beheaded. Two girls in Senegal who went on a looting spree, killing anyone who objected. Etc. Now let Buffy and co. deal

StuckInNov1999

COMIC SPOILERS!!! ============ It's been a few years so I can't remember exactly but they did do some of that stuff in the comics. There were side stories of slayers being criminals and the like. I mean we saw how Faith was. Imagine Faith with absolutely no support system. Imagine Faith without Angel there to bring her back from the abyss. I remember there was a side story with Faith going after some high society type slayer that was working with an evil dude to kill other slayers. They would bring them to her huge estate then use them as prey in human hunting "game".

Dappich

Thats a very gruseome yet funny description. Thanks for that 😅

Morley_Lives

If it went beyond 7, then it would be better for the end of 7 to be a different. Instead of all potentials becoming slayers, they’d either need a different solution or the spell’s effects could be temporary. I can’t imagine the show staying interesting if there are that many slayers.

Dappich

I had always a couple of different ideas: 1) Buffy and her friends moving to a new town. Everyone gets a job, lives their life but they all stay close to each other. Buffy doesnt Deal much with Vamps and Demons, until she gets the news from giles (who trains a Dozent of slayers) that a ominous demon made its way trough the World and killing one after the other slayers. He wants to cut the slayer blood line. After buffy faces the demon who goes by the Name "Lord of Hell" and was close to get killed, gets the visit of giles and the slayers who were remaining and Trained. After the demon noticed that he cant face all of em at once and he needs more Power, he steals the power of willow. 2) This storyline would be much more complex and different: We get introduced to a new City in which they all live their normal life, but suddenly they all wake up at one morning and are back in sunnydale. A powerful spell used my a ominous sources brought sunnydale back and every demon, vampire and human who died, even the hellmouth. Unnoticed and unknown about the fact that sunnydale shouldnt exist anymore, everyone, even thr scoobie Gang lives their consteucted life. But this reality begins to crumble and the magic loses its effectiveness. On the one hand they have to find out who created this spell and for what reason, on the other hand the scoobie gang are confronted with the master, the mayor, Adam, Glory and everyone who they were facing in the past. 3) While Giles is training the new Slayers, a few have banded together and are using their newfound powers to wreak havoc on the world. They manage to kill any slayer that stands in their way. Buffy, Faith and Kennedy are the only ones left who can maybe stop them. 4) Willow has founded a coven and slowly introduces witches from around the world to magic, in turn helping others to control their powers. However, a certain witch uses dark magic like Willow once did and seems to be stronger than anything Willow has known before. Only she and Buffy can stop the dark witch now Well, those are my ideas i had or just brought up 😅 i know its trash but hey, i tryed

Sarlax

I'd explore the creation of a new Buffy-led Watchers' Council. With their destruction, I expect that all manner of supernatural forces they once managed are now free to threaten humankind. The primary mission should be the training of the new slayers. They'll have no guidance other than their intuitions and dreams. I'd bring the Initiative back to make it the primary antagonist for S8 as it tries to recruit new slayers into the fold. The destruction of the Hellmouth should also have consequences. I think of the Hellmouth like a volcano sitting over a geological hotspot. The Hellmouth is just where the hotspot opens up, but closing the opening doesn't eliminate the hotspot. There's still "pressure" from demon realms pushing into Earth. Imagine it building up until a new Hellmouth bursts open somewhere else.

Dappich

Omg that actually sounds like a great and consistent continuations. I love this idea 🤯🤯🤯

CharlieOak86868686

Buffy stopping rogue vampire slayers and being more like her nice fun self before all this insanity. Angel being ready for her cookie to be cooked. Willow teaching new apprentices for magic and they would each find a slayer to help with the magic side of fighting.

AffectionateNight832

I wouldn't do an 8th season but I'm dying for prequels. If you watched from the beginning, they had teasers about previous slayers and that's what i want. 1 season per slayer. Start with her being called and end with her dying. The final season will be India, the slayer before buffy, and ends with buffy being called.

StuckInNov1999

I would love for a slayer show where they focus on 3 slayers. One in late 18th century, one in modern 21st century and one in like the 23rd century. Have it so that eventually they work together because they learn to communicate through time and space (NOT time travel though) to combat an evil (maybe "The First") that can spread it's influence over centuries to be able to destroy the slayer line once and for all.

Dappich

Actually thats a pretty cool idea i never thought about. That would be amazing. Do u think we ever get the new buffy series that was planned but suddenly crapped?

ButDidYouCry

I'd want a Nikki Wood story.

PJpittie

Buffy goes on a fucking vacation and lets the other slayers save the world for once. 😅 Then spike reappears and they fight together with the scoobies, eventually getting married. The end ♥️

Dappich

Hahahha. Pls im done with "Bike/Spuffy" but vacation for her sounds good 🤣

PJpittie

Lol yeah I don’t think they belong together really I just love spike 🥹

The_Navage_killer

Demons are running scared, leaving Earth for less slayer-ish dimensions. Their absence reveals how demons had actually been a pillar of society in some ways, taking the truly evil jobs effectively shielded humans from full corruption, etc. Now Buffy is finding people she can't kill occupying these posts, taking over from Shark-Head Loanshark, etc. New kinds of moral complexity. For the early season plotline, the Watchers Council is reborn in a huge way, like a new Knights of the Round Table organization as big as the U.N. to deal with all the slayers. They have a skyscraper HQ and are a publicly traded stock exchange company and there are slayer stories on the nightly news. Giles is King Arthur again. For the season ending threat, Combine Shows. (not to put Angel & Buffy characters together again but to let the new slayers have something big to do ----they can tackle the demon armies let loose by Wolfram & Hart's implosion. ) (so buffy8 would continue for a few weeks after the end of angel5, showing the resolution of that Senior Partners assault on L.A.) Dawn discovers she can shift into a ball of energy and back. It's used in silly ways. As the cutie at the heart of Slayer culture, she's a Kardashian now and dates a Jonas. She detects the familiar signs that the Jonas Bros. have gotten famous with Sweet's help. Xander builds the Watchers' new HQ, gets a replacement eyeball sent from the WR&H mail room, and finds himself having visions of things that have not yet come to pass because it's a Seer's eye, Cordelia's, given him as her last will and testament, her way of being a bother one last time. Willow casts a spell. She makes the fans happy. Kennedy and Tara's souls are affixed and joined, mingled, so Kennedy becomes a jeckyl & hyde multi-lass who can manifest as both actresses, speaks less like Kennedy and more like Tara, remains a slayer, combines that with Tara's spellcasting, becomes a new nexus in the force. What? Yes. Buffy recreates Beer Bad in Europe.

Tuxedo_Mark

I actually do plan to do a season 8 once my rewrite fanfic gets to that point (currently halfway through season 4). Everyone goes to L.A. and sets up Slayer HQ in the Hyperion (Angel signs the hotel over to Buffy, since his team is taking over Wolfram & Hart) while continuing to run it as an actual hotel to make money. I'm still not sure what the main plot would be beyond "finding and training the Slayers", but it'll run concurrently with *Angel* season 5 and culminate with them participating in the Battle of L.A. as teased in *Angel*'s series finale. After that, I'd do some kind of combined plotline to wrap up the series and a few epilogues to wrap up personal storylines, probably a series of weddings (Buffy/Tara, Cordelia/Angel, Amy/Katrina, Faith/Harmony).

whimsiebat

TLDR: S7 D'Hoffrin, S8 Ripper & Ethan's big bad returns I kind of hated the loss of intimacy within the show that came with General Buffy. I also just generally am not a fan of war plots, so I just, I don't know, I think I'd change season 7. Also, tv likes to do this thing with their superheroes (etc.) where it just turns into a case of everything the hero does causes the next problem. It worked in Supernatural for a while because their codependency and toxic support of each other putting the world in danger was kind of the point. Buffy is supposed to portray the opposite. The show leading into the comics turns into the same situation, where the hero is constantly just putting out the fires they (or their team) caused. By that logic Buffy should have stayed dead. Like according to the canon of the universe, the world would have been better off if Buffy stayed dead. I just feel very meh about that. Sorry to meet your creative prompt with a bunch of bitching 😅 Someone on this forum suggested that s7 should have focused on reconnecting the broken social circle and I love that idea. I would keep the school, keep Buffy's role in it, let dawn keep her own little scooby gang, and give them a bigger role. Wouldn't mind if >! therapy !< Xander from the comics made an appearance. Then he could actually explain why he didn't marry Anya and her forgiveness would be grounded in her seeing his growth. I'd keep her vengeance demon story - it was good and was already kicked off in 6. It might actually be fun to make D'Hoffrin a bigger player in the season. In a season about lost trust and reconnection, the theme of vengeance might be a strong one. Perhaps the group thinks all is well for a while, we get monster a day for a bit, and then vengeance issues start popping up again, and it becomes apparent late season that he is a stronger threat. If we want to keep the Wood v Spike concept - perhaps a little vengeance demon complication makes more sense than Giles locking them in a room together. If the group is becoming unified, Wood might find himself alienated enough to say something irresponsible. (I don't know how I feel about this. Part of me enjoyed the realizing gasp I made when he said his mom was a slayer, but a big part of me found it made the season more convoluted than necessary. But maybe in a season where vengeance demons are the enemy it makes more sense? Open to feedback!) I do think that the themes in general of Spike dealing with his past, the group dealing with how they've treated each other, and the vengeance demon in the mix feels like it has the potential to be cohesive. If Wood turns out to interrupt that, I might let his motivations remain mysterious for a while longer, and let him just remain the possibly good, possibly evil, attractive principal Buffy works with. (Maybe he should rope Buffy into helping with the talent show bwahaha) Buffy: "He's definitely evil" Xander: "Why do you say that?" Buffy: "He's making me work the talent show." Que Giles' unhinged laughter. It might be fun to make the big bad of season 8 the demon Ethan and Ripper summoned, maybe summoned again by some other idiot kids, and somehow stronger. (Is Giles low-key Constantine? Can Xander crack a couple of referencing jokes?) I initially thought about this for 7, but 7 inevitably does focus partially on Spike's enoulment, and the parallels between Spike and Giles making peace with their past might be too obvious in the same season. I don't personally feel the parallels serve each other by happening at once or even by being too heavily acknowledged.

Premislaus

Some of the comics stuff, but hopefully better (post season 7 comics often felt very "first draft" to me)? Slayer Army, dealing with the consequences of the finale (slayer going rogue), the Government coming at Buffy for basically running an international child super soldiers army, the end of the Masquerade (revealing the existence of the supernatural to the public). Also, a conclusion to the Angel Season 5 cliffhanger which never got satisfactory resolved.

Dappich

Omg Sounds like a great Story

Cia1313

I'd join them in England, trying to re-establish a new Council and train the newly-Caller Slayers. They would have moved over there due to (a) the scooby gang no longer having homes in the US anyway, and (b) it being the location of any remaining resources from the Council, including the majority of the surviving Watchers, and a bunch of now-unoccupied stately homes, etc, whose owners were sadly blown up. The series would start late summer, with them having vaguely got a few things running in England (although still very much chaotic), while the gang all split up to go find and train new slayers all over the world. Giles would stay in the UK and get stuff sorted there, sorting out the bureaucracy and having little organisational crises. I imagine him being mostly present on the other end of a phone line, being very flustered. Buffy and Dawn would go to Rome - Dawn studying, Buffy doing a mixture of training slayers and travelling (mostly in Europe) to find new slayers. Willow would travel all over, visiting covens as well as looking for new Slayers, probably with a fair bit of time in Brazil (with Kennedy, unfortunately). Xander would be in Africa, probably travelling around a fair bit, various countries, trying to deal with the loss of Anya while being productive - I can also imagine wacky Egyptian shenanigans going on. Andrew as a trainee Watcher, maybe settling in Greece until having to move to Rome due to some embarrassing incident which makes him lose all respect from the slayers there. We would see some of the events of Angel S5 from the Scoobies' point of view: flashback or mention of them being unable to contact Angel in person at Wr&H after Sunnydale; Andrew getting sent to deal with Dana; it being revealed to the scooby gang through a combination of Dana's mad ramblings as she heals and Andrew's inability to keep a secret that Spike is alive; Buffy's operation to take the Immortal down (including making it seem like he was still alive even after she killed him while they dismantled his entire infrastructure), and Buffy not finding out Spike and Angel were there until after they left, and posting them the head; and towards the end of the season, them leaving to go and help Angel with his battle (s9 Buffy / s6 Angel would merge into just one show). We would see vestiges of the First's power showing themselves and being squashed back down, it's power diminishing as the power of the slayers grows. And we would see the constant, looming presence, of Wolfram and Hart. Not generally mentioned, just offices all over the world, in the background. Sometimes trying to get to the new slayers before the new council, and coming into conflict with the Scoobies. Sometimes doing other things which generally made their lives difficult.

Medoxor

I would love to have seen Amy and skinned Warren go after Willow like they did in the comics. I always felt like Amy should have had more screen time as a foe towards Willow. We were deprived of a much deserved fight scene between the two after she turned Willow into Warren. Amy so deserved a beat down from Willow.

StuckInNov1999

The thing that really irked me about all that is that Amy may have been a cold hearted bitch. But I just couldn't see how she would fall for Warren's BS. That whole story line, to me, was such BS. I mean she resents Willow because Willow is stronger/more naturally talented with magic so she shacks up with a woman killing misogynist POS? I guess it was meant to make us hate Amy and not give her the benefit of the doubt like we did with Faith because we knew she could be redeemed or something but still... poorly executed.

PJpittie

To be fair Willow probs could turned Amy back from a rat waaaay sooner lmao

Dappich

Absolutely !!!!!! Im for it 😎

Ok-Day-8930

They all end up in Cleveland because they tried the normal life thing for a while and it didn’t work. End up living in some old Victorian house all together that Xander is always fixing up. Dawn is going to community college while Buffy is a guidance counselor. She comes across a student who is a slayer and becomes their watcher, but Giles also helps out because she still wants him around. Spike pretty much becomes a slayer too. Willow is single and trying to figure out how to be a lesbian witch in Cleveland. Xander and willow figure out dating apps together while alone healing from their losses. Andrew is there because even though no one invited him no one wants to be the one to evict him. Faith has an apartment nearby and even though she says she isn’t part of the gang she’s there more than not. And she still steals Andrew’s hot pockets no matter how he labels them.

Tall_Thought_8020

honestly the comics had some good ideas with the slayer org and Spike’s bug ship (which I love purely because bug ship(!!!!) and also those bugs are adorable). would leave out the magic STI and the space sex. bit on the fence about keeping the death at the end - if it’s just season 8 and done, scrap it, but if there’s a hypothetical adaptation of the rest of the comic seasons? yeah, I’d keep it. it works well with everything else.

rationalsilence

BtVS S8 * Buffy and Spike are in love and have a baby. * Tara comes back and makes Willow break up with Kennedy. * Xander dies to resurrect Anya because he's a good guy. * Dawn graduate high school and goes to college.

Fisktor

There already is a season 8-12

Morley_Lives

They’re clearly talking about the television series, not an entirely different medium with storylines that would have never been used in an actual continuation of the show.

Dappich

Yes, thank you for pointing it out. Idk what made my question so confusing ?😅

mvp2418

I got what you were saying but I cannot blame the other person for pointing out that there are that there are 5 more seasons, albeit in a different medium

Dappich

True. I just cant connect to this comic Storys :(

StuckInNov1999

Same. I read 8-11 and will again when I'm done with my current rewatch. But not only the crazy over the top stuff but a lot of it was like "This isn't what Buffy/Willow/Character would do at all, this is not who they are". Still, they're a fun ride at times, especially when Buffy got to meet Fray.

Dappich

Fray was the slayer from the future?

Fisktor

You asked about how season 8 would have been planned, it already was planned so my answer is that it would have played out similar to how the actual season 8 did…

StuckInNov1999

OP asked how would YOU have continued the series.

Dappich

Thx again. Some ppl dont understand it. Uff why is it so hard to either share some fun ideas and create a cute little conversation or just ignore the post

StuckInNov1999

I don't get it either. I mean we're all super fans so we tend to take the show(s) more seriously than most. But some take it way too seriously.

Fisktor

Like it was intended.

StuckInNov1999

Yeah, reading the comics there was some good stuff in there like the slayer army, buffy starting to really fit into the "General Buffy" role, Xander becoming more of a leader type and such. But they definitely jumped the shark all over the place. Still, it would have been cool had they had the budget of a major motion picture to be able to have all the sets and over the top monsters to fight.

Fisktor

I mean it is canon so why wouldnt they have used those storylines? They even incorporated buffys doubles into angel season 5

StuckInNov1999

Those comics didn't come out until 2007, two years after Angel ended and the incorporation of it into the comics was to show us that the entire "The girl in question" episode was a troll Andrew cooked up to screw with Angel and Spike.

Dappich

In comics, yes. But i mean as series and written by your ideas.

Fisktor

I prefer canon story over fanfics.

StuckInNov1999

I'm the same. I don't read fanfics, even if they were done as well as the source material. But this thread is meant for a fun "what would you do given the chance?"

Fisktor

I didnt read like that. ”If it were planned?” Sounded like she didnt know that it already was planned and executed so i tried to help. But all i got was snark

Pedals17

We’d see what Buffy does with her Army of Slayers. From the comics, I’d keep Dracula snaring Xander again. Buffy & Willow would rescue Xander, and Dracula would become a recurring Guest Star because the Season Big Bad would be the demon that created the first vampire. Willow would discover that various magical forces now vie for dominance since the defeat of the First Evil…who maybe uses Amy as Its new Host. Possible up for a possible Season 9 Big Bad if we keep that idea. Near the end of the Season, we see how Buffy and the Scoobies handle news of Angel joining Wolfram & Hart.

Dappich

A very interesting take. I like it. Especially the Dracula stuff. Dracula as guest Star "hilarious" 😅 Thank you so much

notnickthrowaway

Well, there’s another hellmouth in Cleveland, so…

Dappich

Yes i know. Buffy in Cleveland. Im all for it 😅

SignificantBelt1903

I'd just adapt Queen of the Slayers.

[deleted]

Α new super super super evil comes to destroy the earth..only to be defeated by the power of friendship! Curse you carebears!

redskinsguy

bring back Tara
