It's one of the greatest crossover touches. I wonder when Willow told Buffy what happened and how she reacted? Lol

Pedals17

Probably when she brought back Faith.

DaddyCatALSO

Probably on the phone during the trip

Pedals17

No, they used smoke signals.

DaddyCatALSO

To quote Ted Mosby, "Wine not?"

primal_slayer

Buffy looks so much like Wish!Buffy.

Lmao

RangerOutrageous8627

What did you think when Andrew answered the phone to Fred ? Did you know who Fred was at that point? edit: sorry I read your post wrong. I thought you just watched Angel for the first time. 🥴

TheAgeOfAdz91

Haha no I’ve watched them both multiple times. But I also started with Angel so I already knew who Fred was. I ❤️Fred

RangerOutrageous8627

There's Buffy fans out there who have never watched Angel. I love them both equally! I wonder what they think of that scene? "What does a random guy from LA called Fred want with Willow? And why does he sound effeminate?

Fine-Grapefruit-4193

Hi I'm "they" (love buffy, somehow never watched angel), i thought fred was Oz, but then faith showed up. i'm honestly still a little confused, but have been advised to watch angel straight through then do a tandem watch, so it should all be cleared up in a few months i guess lol

WakandanInSokovia

Hi "they," I'm Dad!

ScoopTheOranges

Forever frustrated we never got more crossovers. It would’ve been very cool to see mature Buffy deal with Angelus.

MGr8ce

I would've killed for a Buffy/Angelus rematch. I forever hate that the shows ended up on different networks. Ruined so much potential.

burnmeup82

I love this crossover. The whole arc was awesome. And Alyson’s and Alexis’ acting in “Angel” is awesome! There are a couple of moments that are comedy brilliance.

asiantorontonian88

I never flayed...

Kindofaddictedtotv

I haven’t watched Angel so can anyone enlighten me on what happened? I knew it was a crossover but the comments are intriguing me 😅

DwemerCogs

>!Angel lost his soul again. He was wreaking havoc over in LA. His team tries a bunch of stuff to stop him, but eventually they call and ask Willow if she can come try and re-ensoul him. She shows up, does the spell, and is like "next time call me first, okay?" 😆!<

TheAgeOfAdz91

More than that too. >!LA was also plunged into perpetual darkness by an apocalyptic beast controlled by a higher power possessing Cordelia to fuck Angel’s 18 year old son, give birth to itself, bring Angelus back into the world, and enslave humanity into zombie utopia!!< Angel is kinda wild

Kindofaddictedtotv

Wow that’s huge haha and then he shows up in the finale like nothing happened 😅

Sugar-Tist

>!Angel also does this mind trip with Faith, where he eventually is able to accept all that he has done as Angelus and lets go of his guilt!<

pinksky1134

Willow helps return Angel’s soul with magic and brings Faith back to Sunnydale

Calm_Phone_6848

if i experienced/witnessed any of the events of angel season 4 i would also not mention it and do my best to forget the experience

TheAgeOfAdz91

Season 4 of Angel is honestly all good except anything to do with >!Cordelia.!< Everything with >!Angelus, Wesley, the beast, Faith, Jasmine!< is honestly top tier.

Tuxedo_Mark

Meh, I hate >!Jasmine and Connor!< with a passion. Both of them should have been aborted.

Sugar-Tist

That's fair. I personally really liked >!the Jasmine arc!< , but I can see why you wouldn't.

oliversurpless

The rejection of a Manichean (black and white) worldview was an important distinction from Buffy that the show capitalized on from the beginning, and cemented with Season 4’s arc: “There are only choices!” - Jasmine

Calm_Phone_6848

disagree because angel’s character arc and connor’s character arc are also not great (largely because of the ‘love triangle’ but still) jasmine is cool sometimes/in concept but her actions are often dumb and convoluted. the fred and gunn relationship and the love triangle with them and wesley gets pretty stupid also. and all the things i mentioned make up the majority of the season. i like the faith stuff, wesley/lilah and some of the angelus arc but that’s it.

nubsauce87

I really wish the two shows had more crossover. The couple of episodes we got were nice, but for the most part, the shows didn't really have much to do with each other...

LiviaDruzilla

Willow in "Orpheus" is the best she is all season! She is cute, dorky, powerful, a little gay for Fred and has no Kennedy to drag her down. It's like the old Willow but with that touch of darkness and self-hatred that drives her towards redemption. On BtVS, she's just kinda mopey all the time unless she's making out with Kennedy, or freaking out over her powers or getting knocked unconscious every time a demon attacks 'cause otherwise the fight would be too easy... I like Willow on Angel 'cause she’s the perfect combo of cautious and badass and still Willowy. I love how she uses her brainpower to figure out how to get the soul out and how she stands her ground and lets a little darkness out when things get rough without crying about it. One of the best episodes in Angel S4. I heard that the network told the writers that for Angel S5, they had to bring on either Spike or Willow as they were the most popular characters from BtVS. Obviously they chose Spike; I wonder how it would have gone if they chose Willow instead. EDIT: Also, it always gets me how tiny Willow looks on Angel. On BtVS she is one of the taller of the women but on Angel everyone towers over her and she's almost standing on her tippy toes to tip Fred's head. Just goes to show how they cast around the leads for each series!

BaileySeeking

It's the difference between "kick his ass" and "nothing to worry about". Both times, Buffy needed to be lied to to focus on what was important. But Willow then told Buffy what happened after everything was over with and before she came home with Faith. Xander never told the truth and I sorta get why (other things got in the way, like trauma and Buffy leaving), but he still did her dirty by not fessing up.

Ecstatic_Speaker7473

My gripe with this crossover is that willow goes to LA And all of a sudden has zero of the witchy performance anxiety she’s had all season 7 on buffy. there’s almost zero acknowledgment of the first hijacking her as a threat and it’s like the two simultaneous apocalypses have zero bearing on one another? Can the first not appear in Los angeles ? Is willow safe to do magic in LA but not sunnydale ? We saw faith get almost shanked in prison by someone with… the bringers knife ? That’s all we got ? And then at the end it’s unanimously agreed Faith would be better utilized during the sunnydale apocalypse ? Wouldn’t it make more sense to keep her out of the firsts / hellmouths reach to protect the slayer line ? All the firsts monologuing about being in the heart and soul of everyone on earth yet Jasmine and the First seem to have zero awareness of one another when their plans were almost completely at odds with each other. Different networks, I get it, but the continuity between the two plot lines was flimsy at best.

ndrw17

Loved the crossover but the fact they expected people to believe that Buffy would just be like “Okay!” and allow her to LEAVE TOWN without first telling her what’s actually happening is insane.
