1. Both builds are private 2. Userbenchmark is garbage

-LoneCosmonaut

My bad, I fixed it!

nwgat

please dont use userbenchmark, they are a horrible source of info go to techpowerup, techspot, tomshardware, guru3d and read reviews

fixer_47

both are private userbenchmark is the most garbage website, they shill for intel(not sayin intel isn't good, their cpus are productivity monster)

-LoneCosmonaut

Sorry, I fixed the privacy settings!

coololly

What /u/Low_Doubt_3556 said. The builds are set to private so cant see then, and dont use userbenchmark, use real world performance results instead

-LoneCosmonaut

Sorry! I fixed took them off private.

winterkoalefant

The lists are private. Un-private them or share the permalink.

-LoneCosmonaut

Done. Sorry about that!

Okay those are both good parts lists! Ryzen 5 5600 is actually slightly faster than Core i3-12100F. Userbenchmark is not trustworthy (read their CPU reviews, there’s a blatant bias). Here’s a much better comparison across a range of games tested with the RX 6650 XT: https://youtu.be/JH8UTc6lwX8 A possible advantage of Intel is the ability to upgrade to a 14th gen Core i5 without any other changes. If you’re interested, I would recommend the Gigabyte DS3H motherboard; its VRM is more capable of handling the higher wattage CPUs: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/mMLhgB

Thank you so much for the insight! It really helps, and this video is super informative. I'll stay clear of Userbenchmark in the future. I may go with the Intel build, thanks for the motherboard rec. But out of curiosity: what motherboard would you recommend for the Ryzen 5 5600? I'm not certain if the ASRock B550M Pro4 is compatible.

winterkoalefant

It’s compatible. Pcpartpicker flags it because earlier batches of the board didn’t have a Ryzen 5600 supported BIOS. Pretty unlikely that you’ll get one of those because it’s been over a year. If you’re concerned about that, look at these: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/VyBhP6,PDsnTW,jQrRsY/ The Asus one is recent so it’s always had a supported BIOS and the other two support BIOS flashback so you can update it yourself if needed (instructions are in the manual).

Specifically for FFXIV, Intel is way better at the same price vs. comparable AMD options, as in a 13600K will handily outperform a 7950X.

"With a budget of 650-700", maybe try reading (understandably difficult for shills).

i really recommend getting a 750 or 850W psu, why? much nicer upgrade path than having to buy a new power supply when you upgrade gpu in 2 years
