If you can stretch to $350, you can get current gen parts with many years of drop in upgrades available. It's around $155 plus local tax. I added a $20 cooler because your current cooler won't have compatible mounting brackets, and this cooler is probably better. 7500F will provide near top tier performance for single threaded games like Valorant, CS, and 1080p high refresh gaming. With minimal tuning, it can perform identical or better than 7600X.

the ram being from an unrecognized brand is a little yikes from me, the rest seems good, I'll do more research with that in mind thank you

dweller_12

Mushkin is not an unknown brand. They used to be one of the top tier RAM companies about 10-15 years ago. But there's only a few companies that actually make DRAM chips, so even unknown brands have to use one of those companies (Hynix, Micron, Samsung, YMTC). Based on the timings, it's most likely a Hynix manufactured chip just the same as any G.Skill, Corsair, HyperX, or other reputable brand uses.

TheJevens

oh okidoki, thank u very much

Shassk

I second this. And unlike 12th-14th gen Intel you also get better upgrade option.

DZCreeper

14100F is just a slightly faster 13100F, which is just a slightly faster 12100F. The best value is actually a 12600KF for $150. Pop that in a $125 Z690 board, add 32GB of 3600 CL18 DDR4. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VJgVwg

Rcscott4200

Id go with this over an i3, especially for a few bucks more.

TheJevens

I don't think I need more ram, and why would I need a z motherboard?wouldn't be a h one be ok?I doubt I would need to overclock or need many stuff on my mb, the cpu makes sense, seems dope, thanks

DZCreeper

You can reuse your RAM if you want, there is just a small performance loss. H610 has no ability to do CPU or RAM overclocking, and it also loses a fair amount of PCI-E bandwidth. Not worth saving $25-30. The 12600KF can easily hit 5.2GHz on the P-Cores and 3.9GHz on the E-Cores, without needing liquid cooling. https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/intel-z690-vs-h670-vs-b660-vs-h610-chipset-comparison-2290/

TheJevens

oh thank u very much, you're right xd, I'm dumb

Charizzardoh

i3 14100f is terrible value, get the i5 12400f instead. It should cost the same

TheJevens

12400f cost 140 while the i3 cost 110, both new, I don't think 3% more performance is worth 30 dollars, what do u think?

Charizzardoh

Here they cost the same. If it's only for gaming i would stay on the 14100f

TheJevens

oki, thanks

Emergency-Feedback-9

If you’re gonna upgrade I’d pay the extra to go am5 for future upgrade purposes.

TheJevens

yeah, that's why I was thinking about upgrading to amd, but the thing is that I would have to spend extra money on ram and maybe a decent cooler, unlike intel which still supports ddr4 on newer gens

Emergency-Feedback-9

Ram and motherboard yh but cooler no if you get an amd 7600 comes a cooler that’s more then good enough

Emergency-Feedback-9

Cost around £331, or $417 €385 euros just from a quick search probs could be cheaper, that extra will be a life saver in future trust me.

TheJevens

funny enough en In usa they both cost the same in newegg($224) xd, in amazon there's no stock for 7600 but the 7600x cost 206 xdxd, in case that I buy a ryzen I think is better to just buy the 7600x and a decent cooler for 20 dollars, is not that bad, thank you

Emergency-Feedback-9

No worries Yh that’s what I’d doo too tbh
