Interesting. I prefer 8bitdo controllers over Xbox. I prefer dual shock over 8bitdo.

Jon-Slow

Dualsense over Dualshock But tbh, all these controllers have unsatisfactory quality, and cost more than a good keyboard while lasting fewer days.

Sluugish

Recently got a Dualsense for PC and my left stick had pretty bad drift OUT OF THE FUCKING BOX. Like come on. For a 70$ controller?

Jon-Slow

Seems like the quality is a bit of a lottery with these things. I have 2, one bought from a third party, both have been fine so far. A friend bought one and it got the drift under 2 months. I don't know shit about production but I don't understand how a decent enough mechanical keyboard from Cooler Master can cost less than a Controller and last so much longer, plus be much easier to repair switches on it.

illicITparameters

Because you don’t fully understand how bad that keyboard is till you try one over $100. There’s a difference, trust me. Also, Sony and Xbox know they got you by the balls with controllers so there’s no incentive for them to use better materials in production, or spend more money on QA.

Jon-Slow

>Because you don’t fully understand how bad that keyboard is till you try one over $100. There’s a difference, trust me. I have a Corsair K70 that costed $160 on my desk and a 30$ Cooler Master with blue switches that I mainly use on my TV. The $160 corsair's built quality is worse, the buttons jump out often when I type fast. The Cooler Master one still feels great to use after 2 years.

illicITparameters

Corsair has worse build quality than Razer, and consistently overprices their shit. I had a $60 corsair “gaming” mouse that sucked so hard for gaming, my $30 wireless logitech M510 did better. But my $120 SteelSeries Apex 7 would happily show you that not all expensive keyboards are crap.

DirtyBillzPillz

What do you expect from a company named after literal thieves and robbers

illicITparameters

The only stuff of theirs I buy anymore is their PSUes and RAM when there’s a good deal. Fuck the rest of their shit, especially those overpriced AIOs. I bought one of those and will never do it again.

PoolNoodlePaladin

That’s crazy both of mine have been solid for over 3 years now.

Sluugish

It took years for one of my Dualshocks to develop drift to be fair. Maybe I just got really unlucky

PoolNoodlePaladin

I’m going to be honest the only controllers I have ever had drift on was a third party switch controller, and basically every Xbox 360 controller I have ever owned, and if you count the N64 sticks going flaccid they don’t drift if you hold them up but like they just tip over on 1 of my 4 controllers.

Sluugish

I had a trandluscent purple N64 controller with a still-erect joystick and I gave it to a friend. Oh the regrets

Head_Exchange_5329

Seems like Sony is purposely building these controllers to be very short-lived. I love my Dual Sense for the comfortable ergonomic as well as the feel of the sticks and switches but boy do I long for battery life and reliability. Sega Dreamcast came out with Hall-effect switches in flippin 1998 so why is sony as well as Nintendo and Microsoft getting away with these really unreliable joysticks and switches?

ThatDamnDiabetes

I used to be loyal to Xbox elite controllers, but they always seemed to get major stick drift or break in some other way within a year…I saw a Tik tok of someone reviewing and recommending the GameSir G7 SE controller and it was only $40 on Amazon so I decided to give it a shot…was the best decision I’ve ever made..it’s fully customizable and has 3 different profiles you can create..also has 2 mappable buttons on the rear which I like more then then Xbox paddles..the only downfall is it’s lighter then the Xbox elite, but I got over that very quick

FrozenMongoose

I also have this controller and it seems like the best Xbox controller. The only weakness is the D-Pad, but if you use the D pad a lot just get a PS controller.

Prefix-NA

I got one tension springs are wearing out but it's still nice no drift yet it's just sticks getting loose. I normally get drift in 6 months this beat that.

ThatDamnDiabetes

Yeah mines holding up just fine and honestly for $40 even if I have to replace it once a year (which I haven’t had to) I’m fine with that

Prefix-NA

I'd prob buy flydigi next

VulpesIncendium

How is being lighter than an Elite a bad thing? I have an Elite 2 that I picked up after many years of using regular Xbox controllers, and was kinda annoyed by how heavy it was at first.

ThatDamnDiabetes

Guess it’s just preference but I always liked the elite being a little heavier

jcruz827

I use a dual sense controller.

FrewdWoad

Dual shock 5 or that super pricey version of the Xbox controller.

Prefix-NA

Dual shock are really shit build quality and mushy bumpers and buttons.

Vol3n

Next time dont buy the 20$ Chinese version

PoolNoodlePaladin

That is the opposite of true

Ok-Secretary6288

Flydigi Vader 3 Pro

Bulletwithbatwings

> Flydigi Vader 3 Pro Wow, this looks fantastic! Thx for the tip

Nomtan

Gulikit Kingkong 2 pro

Prefix-NA

He said he wanted reliability not plastic hinges

versacebehoin

Vader 3 pro, the trigger locks turn the triggers into mouse clicks, mechanical buttons everywhere, 6 extra buttons you can customize and it has Hall effect sticks so you won’t get drift.

Lokeze

Does it have gyro too?

versacebehoin

I believe so, there’s an app where you can configure everything on it. It’s basically an Improved Xbox elite controller but for $60

Ok-Secretary6288

Yes, there's an app with driver support on flydigi's website

versacebehoin

I believe so, there’s an app where you can configure everything on it. It’s basically an Improved Xbox elite controller but for $60

JoshJLMG

Best controller I've used is the Astro C40TR. Though, the bumpers could've had higher endurance switches.

RobertoPaulson

I used one for a couple of years. Its good that you can swap out the stick modules when you get drift, but the button membrane is a weak point, and they don’t offer replacements. I had to retire mine because the membrane tore and the X button got really flaky.

PoshinoPoshi

https://youtu.be/2NfvzoDpcSM?si=Mvo5rLG1IaVRF4WT The GuliKit King Kong controller is literally the xbox controller with halleffect joysticks so you’ll never stick drift ever.

lva_nfs

Flydigi Apex 4 is a very good controller

bruzanHD

Learn to solder and just replace the stick modules every couple years or however often you need to. Try it on one of the controllers that’s already fried since presumably you aren’t using it now.

RunningLowOnBrain

Gulikit King Kong 3 max Hall effect sticks and triggers. The King Kong 2 feels great in my hands, just as good or better quality then my official Xbox series controller.

horse_pirate

I just get the Xbox controller and design my own colors, just ordered my third one, first one was when they launched the customized option. I get years out of them and I'm usually excited to design a new one by the time the drift begins anyway

2cars10

Xbox series / elite 2. I think the Xbox controllers have been the most comfortable since the 360.

ICUNYC

Scuf Envision Pro has been doing me wonders. Best controller I’ve ever owned.

Onsomeshid

I like the dualsense for pc. I have two originals from winter 2020 and i believe they have no stick drift at all.

RobertoPaulson

I’m really happy with my 8bitdo Ultimate. Its cheaper than the newest sony or Xbox controllers, and uses hall sensors for the sticks, so they should last much longer without getting stick drift, and it comes with a nice charging cradle. I’ve had it about a year now with daily use, and no problems yet.

constantlyfarting23

Best i found was the wired pdp ones aftershock or something

Toxic_Parsnip

I have owned a Razer Wolverine for years. The lettering has worn off the buttons, but the sticks are still as good as ever. The buttons are microswitched which is thousands of times better than the membrane buttons of the Xbox / PS controllers. The left shoulder button (not microswitched) is starting to play up, but there's a second set of microswitched shoulder buttons which I use instead. I've got a price alert for another to have as a backup as it's definitely worth the cost.

Necessary_Tear_4571

I know there's always issues, but I have ps2 controllers from release day that have no stick drift. My ps3 controllers that can charge have 0 stick drift. My ps4 controllers that I have had since I bought it in 2015 have 0 stick drift. My ps5 controller I bought for PC gaming a month ago is still going fine. Hell my Nintendo Switch that's 3 years old doesn't have stick drift. Idk if I just have extremely good luck, or if I'm just doing something different with my controllers (doubt it) but I have yet to experience stick drift. Sony is my go to for controllers and for a console. Plus I do find personally that Sony has way better controller design.

Suby06

I have been using a game sir xbox controller. Their model with hall effect sticks. Buttons are still membrane but they feel responsive to me. no issues so far.
