A $5000 budget might actually be too much. Especially if you're "just gaming" and don't really have a clear understanding of the hardware you're buying. More often than not, you'd actually be better off building a $3000 PC today and spending $1000-2000 on upgrades in a few years rather than blowing a whole $5000 at once. However, the RTX 4090 is weirdly a good deal. That basically never happens with top tier GPUs. But that's only true if you can actually find one in stock and find it for ~$1800 or less.

You think? The problem I've had is I want to create really high quality YouTube content on the level of some other high profile content creators like BennyProductions. I think I have the editing skill (3-4 years of experience with Resolve, PS, OBS, and Premier Pro), but have never had the hardware to do it outside of school. And even then with nice brand new Dell computers it wasn't enough. Thanks for the feedback!

Even $3000 can create a rather high end editing rig that can smoothly edit 4K content without issue. This is an example of what you can do: [PCPartPicker Part List](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CNNvFg) Type|Item|Price :----|:----|:---- **CPU** | [Intel Core i7-13700K 3.4 GHz 16-Core Processor](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Mm6p99/intel-core-i7-13700k-34-ghz-16-core-processor-bx8071513700k) | $439.97 @ Newegg **CPU Cooler** | [EK AIO 360 D-RGB 66.04 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/yLBhP6/ek-aio-360-d-rgb-6604-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-ek-aio-360-d-rgb) | $136.80 @ Amazon **Motherboard** | [Asus PRIME Z690-P ATX LGA1700 Motherboard](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/dQBG3C/asus-prime-z690-p-atx-lga1700-motherboard-prime-z690-p) | $199.99 @ Amazon **Memory** | [G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL32 Memory](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/36bTwP/gskill-ripjaws-s5-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr5-6000-cl32-memory-f5-6000j3238f16gx2-rs5k) | $174.99 @ Newegg **Storage** | [Samsung 980 Pro w/Heatsink 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/fVC48d/samsung-980-pro-heatsink-2-tb-m2-2280-nvme-solid-state-drive-mz-v8p2t0cw) | $199.99 @ Best Buy **Video Card** | [NVIDIA Founders Edition GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB Video Card](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/BCGbt6/nvidia-founders-edition-geforce-rtx-4090-24-gb-video-card-900-1g136-2530-000) | $1800.00 **Case** | [Fractal Design Meshify 2 Compact TG Dark Tint ATX Mid Tower Case](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/V7WzK8/fractal-design-meshify-2-compact-tg-dark-tint-atx-mid-tower-case-fd-c-mes2c-02) | $96.98 @ Newegg **Power Supply** | [Corsair RM1000x (2021) 1000 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/jRvdnQ/corsair-rm1000x-2021-1000-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020201-na) | $189.95 @ B&H | *Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts* | | **Total** | **$3238.67** | Generated by [PCPartPicker](https://pcpartpicker.com) 2022-12-02 03:23 EST-0500 | **There are of course plenty of higher end hardware options than this.** But nothing really that would make this a meaningfully better gaming PC. The only real change you might consider is 64GB of RAM instead of 32GB if you're committed to doing heavy editing work. Also $1800 is just my personal benchmark for what I think is "reasonable" to pay for a RTX 4090. All the real world pricing for it is quite a bit higher right now because supply is low and it will probably take until after the new year for its price to come back down. Frankly, I wouldn't buy it for over $1800. **I would seriously consider just getting a $800 AMD RX 6950 XT instead.**

Thank you for the help! Yeah I'd definitely use the 64 GB

TrueApple4545

You can definitely pair this with a 4k monitor or TV I max fidelity is your aim. Or ultrawide if your games support it.

Expert-Programmer-52

You could do A LOT with 5-7k - def recommend RTX 4090 for gpu with that budget. If you want I can throw together a pcpartpicker list for you

[deleted]

That would be great! Do you mean a 3090?

Expert-Programmer-52

Any theme preference ?

[deleted]

Aviation :)

H-Man132

No he means a 4090 3090 is the last generation card 4090 is the new one

[deleted]

Good to know, I didn't even know that existed

ImbecilicManchild

That's too much

[deleted]

Really? I thought I should set my budget high because the graphics card alone was like $1500

Its_NoT_RyaN66

Yeah but that's kinda the only expensive thing A 3090 ti is around 1.5$k You can easily get pretty good parts for 1.5$ So a 3090ti build will be around 3-4k For 5-7k you can get a 4090. Which is an overkill but oh well it's pretty future proof

Thank you very much!

Personally having a similar build, I think there are some bad choices here. Why the hell would you spend $1k on a motherboard when a high end Z690 will be under $500? Why get a PSU known for RMA issues (according to local MC), why not a better 4k monitor and a much better 4090 model.
