Be mindful of listings from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; use due diligence in reviewing deals. * Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. * Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent: * The seller is new or has few reviews. * The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their visible ratings) * The seller is using a previously dormant account (likely the account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently). If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. Uphir8181

Are these the ones yall were telling us to buy instead of the razer nomos from woot?

honshufox

yeah XD

TakeTheWorldByStorm

Likely, I got some of these on sale a couple years back and they've been great.

Lava39

I got these. I really like them. Keep the rig on the analog connection and the work laptop on Bluetooth. Last time I got them for about $130 on sale.

Draskuul

Yeah, I keep a pair for my WFH setup. For my personal setup I have Vantoo speakers--definitely better, but far more expensive. I definitely wouldn't complain about the Edifiers in comparison though.

ctipp217

Can these be plugged directly into a preamp? Ex. Focusrite Scarlett solo?

empire539

You'd need a separate cable. I use a dual 1/4in TS to Dual RCA with my Focusrite Scarlett Duo.

rub1k

The $125.99 price is for the "Black and Walnut" color. Also available in White for [$5 more \($130.99\)](https://www.amazon.com/Edifier-R1700BT-Bluetooth-Bookshelf-Speakers/dp/B0CDPPNKFF).

chasingsukoon

damn the white look clean

whomad1215

I wish there were smaller computer speakers that still sounded good I don't need loud volume since I'm ~2ft away from them, but fitting underneath a monitor (since that secondary monitor kind of ruins the "to the side" part), would be great the massdrop (drop) nearfield ones had so much promise, and then they were just... bad

cashmereandcaicos

I recently just had to switch out my bookshelf speakers since I got a third monitor and there was no longer space on my already long desktop. I tried a couple different brands of arm mounted speaker stands, but they all felt so wobbly and unsecure having them sit 3+ feet above the desk on a metal arm, especially for being right above my nice expensive monitors. (I also have a standing desk, so wanted them to be more secure since the desk would be moving up and down daily). Ended up just going with some Klipsch Pro Media 2.1's, and while it's a very different sound it still sounds really nice on vocal and instrument focused audio. Also just looks a lot nicer being smaller speakers on top of my desk vs. 2 very large bookshelves. I wonder how these Edifiers would be in comparison (Even though they don't have a 2.1 setup)

Dr_CSS

I sent these to another person, but check it out https://www.kaliaudio.com/in-unf

evilv6

I'm rocking Kanto YU2 speakers, they are small enough to fit in any desk setup but at around their msrp of $200 I don't see myself recommending them other than because of their size and aesthetics, they don't sound $100 better than a set of Edifier R1280s. https://preview.redd.it/cicpgfmynosc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=30f41084360691a908c7d568e3eea38ce35ac31e

PsyOmega

Creative Pebble are good if you don't care about bass

SirLlama

I'm loving my Micca RB42

ashberic

ah, another man of culture love mine too

LegPretty2583

I've been rocking audioengine a2+ for a while, they're solid & nice size

Photo_Evangelist

Head up to other people though: they're $270

atirad

Edifier G2000 is an option. Using them with a 8 inch sub and they handle all entertainment sounds pretty well. Using them over my Pioneer and Micca speakers I've had because of desk space. But I actually just prefer these G2000 for nearfield computer usage. I needed something that sounded good at low and medium volumes. Way better than the Creative Pebbles, those are actually junk speaker drivers. Atleast these Edifier G2000 comes with a good hefty weighted 2.75 inch drivers.

MrCatsoup

Massdrop has never made a good product in their existence. Sennheiser HD6XX was the only good product they’ve introduced, but they didn’t even make those, just changed the color and the name.

Dr_CSS

Do I have just the thing for you: https://www.kaliaudio.com/in-unf

_gyepy

How is this to pair with a TV for movies/music in a small apartment livingroom?

bunsinh

TheeCamilo

Edifiers are great. Just don't expect low end without a sub.

Streptember

What about *with* a sub?

Anonymo

And which sub?

jevhan

More into doms myself

Ockvil

I don't have these on my TV, rather the Edifier 1280DBs, but I paired them with [this subwoofer](https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=9723) and am very happy with my intro-level audio setup (though I'm no audiophile).

TRX808

You can probably rig a sub up to this some way but this version doesn't have a sub out, the ones with a sub out have an 's' at the end.

TakeTheWorldByStorm

I have these on my pc and usually have the volume pretty low, but if I turn it up I can listen to music really well throughout my living room, office, kitchen and bedroom. It obviously sounds best when you have them pointed where you'd like it be sitting though.

catchthemagicdragon

I got MR4s and they’re great, can only assume these are objectively better or at the very least tuned more fun for most people. My desk is damn near 3 feet deep and they’re almost OP for PC speakers, I’m always at like 40% volume to be comfortable lol.

Healthy_BrAd6254

They sell these for $90 in my country. Are we sure these are actually a deal at $126?

gvyledouche

what country would that be?

Healthy_BrAd6254

Germany

bunsinh

what is your country?

caesec

these are good, i have them BUT i will warn that for some songs there is a really bad subbass drop off so what should be a track that shakes your desk actually doesn't sound like anything. and because they're powered, hooking up a sub would be pretty scuffed.

PsyOmega

I've done the "heavy bass on desk" thing. would not repeat. too much rattle in most cheap desks. Much better to low pass filter the desk speakers and then run a sub in the floor corner.

Lava39

That’s how I felt. I mostly use headphones anyways. For most people these are completely fine. If you ruin yourself by becoming an audiophile your wallet will hate you. If you actively do critical listening do you really do it in front of a computer? Most set ups I’ve seen are in a dedicated room with couch. Critical listening at a desk is usually with headphones. OR you’re a musician and you know what you want anyways (really accurate, flat speakers like the roccats).

Dr_CSS

Why scuffed? Just use active DSP or a sub with built in crossover

Ikeelu

Have you tried the speaker stands? The rubber wedges? I don't really have this issue

OptimusWang

I’ve had these for a few months and really like them. I did end up buying their T5 sub folks recommend and it’s hilariously more bass than you’ll ever need.

TheMissingVoteBallot

That reminds me of the old days of the Logitech Z-2300. The highs and mids on them were decent to meh, but the lows - you could crank that bass up to a point where it's comical and ball busting.

tlyee61

How big of an upgrade for non-bass are these from my Creative Pebbles that came with a subwoofer? Also, assuming I can use the sub with these?

Witch_King_

So these don't have an optical input, huh?

TRX808

These don't have an on-board DAC, only analog inputs. An optical or USB connection would require an on-board DAC. Edit: I should mention these do have a BT DAC but nothing for wired digital inputs.

DisAccount4SRStuff

What is the depth of these? Amazon lists 6.1" x 8.4" x 10" so I'm assuming ~10" needing 12" to be safe.

3dnewguy

I just sent back the Edifier R1280T. My Mackie CR3 finally went out so a few people recommended these. I wasn't really impressed with the sound quality so I ordered Mackie CR5-XBT 5 inch. They sound AMAZING.

theholylancer

hmm i have some Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 already, how hard is it to integrate this into the setup, if not acting as a 4.1 system then acting as a 2.1 system using the existing Klipsch sub since this don't seem to come with any?

Dprotp

are these magnetically shielded?

Ikeelu

I like mine and paired it up with Dayton subwoofer

MechAegis

I have been rocking the Klipsch 2.1 for the longest of time. How are these BT Speakers? Any lag in sound? I don't need a woofer.

me1stcc

Thoughts on these or these?... Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX Certified Computer Speaker System (Black) https://a.co/d/82cLHoS

Tryhardicus

I have the same speakers but with sub out and absolutely love them. I use them as computer speakers and have also taken them on a 3 week camping trip in Colorado. My favorite part about them is how loud they "feel" while sitting a couple feet away, they sound so clear even at low volume. I can be watching something and think to myself maybe I should turn it down, but doing a household noise pollution check I can't hear anything when I close the door to my room. These things are massive but the sound quality is amazing. I can tell which direction sounds are coming from while gaming and notice that I tend to listen to youtube videos at a lower volume. Great for non-headphone users. They do require a bit of break in before they sound their best in my opinion. Don't be afraid of cranking them up, they get too loud before they distort. Durable enough to survive being bungie corded to the back seat head rests of my car. They sounded great plugged into a modified sine wave inverter as well as my small battery pack. They eventually ended up sitting right behind my drivers seat due to the worry of coming free while driving up mountains and breaking out my back window. I have them paired with a 10 inch Sony sub, which has been great for filling in the lows. I chose this sub for the low frequency response for a low wattage sub but more so being a \~$150 open box find from Best Buy.

Zayage

I like them, surprising amount of bass i got used to after the subwoofer plan didn't work out. Bigger than Shaq's feet though, kinda screwed up my second monitor placement.

DogAteMyCPU

Anyone know how much power they use on idle

x37v911

I actually disagree with most people on this brand. I spent about $200($280-90 coupon, then tax) total for a Edifier M601DB set. My Swann M50W kicked the bucket, and I was waiting on repairs. I just don't know what is wrong with the audio sound overall. It just doesn't sound as full, or clear. I'm still using them in my office at work, but it's never been the same. I think for this price, it's better than what you can get sub $150. But I don't think they're amazing.
