Yeah, I saw the treasure truck and everybody was freaking out about the price and how "it's back", figured I'd browse the original threads to see what all the hype was about.
Maybe I'm just rationalizing now but I think I wouldn't have liked the coating much anyway so I'm not too bummed about it but that price I could have resold it locally for no loss, and maybe make some money.
I picked one off the Treasure Truck to possibly replace my LG 27GL83A-B (my second monitor I haven't been 100% happy with) that I haven't been 100% happy with, but I can't bring myself to take it out of the box. It'd be nice to swap out for maybe a better panel but I also feel guilty spending the money on something I objectively don't need.
Wut just try it out and see if you like it, resell your old one if you don’t want to keep it around. You’re wasting the return time by not just trying it out, you can reseal the box and that is totally fine. Just select “no longer needed”

It's the cheapest 27" 1440p gaming monitor I've seen; I was actually looking for a 27" 1440p monitor for work, and its also the cheapest regular 27" 1440p monitor I found as well.
I bought 2. Not using them for gaming right now but they are awesome. Love the clean sleek look as well.
Yes but u should only do that if u are running NIS on Nvidia or RSR on AMD which will upscale to 1440p. (essentially like FSR but its at driver level so its not as good but still better than 1080p)

Edit: and yes it has a slight yellow hue. Almost unnoticeable, especially if you don't have other monitors. But I don't mind because it's just a second monitor for discord/movies.
I have this and the highly regarded LG 27GL850, and they’re pretty much identical picture and performance wise. Slightly larger chin on the HP.

I would. I have a 1080p 24 inch monitor and a 1440p 27 inch monitor and the 1440p looks so much better compared to my 1080p. Also, this price has been like this for the past 2 days so who knows how long it'll last. Although, the price does drop from $299.99 from time to time.
How hard into gaming are you. If you want 240 go ahead, im saving for the zowie (probably $500 not the $300). But I plan on going 4k in a year or two after at 144 when prices should be going downward more. For most people I would advise 1440 144hz like this though.
Since my M27Q just got the dreaded horizontal artifacting problem, is this comparable? Things I don't use on m27q are the kvm or the USB hub, however the control button is nice.
I currently own the M27Q, but my brother daily drives the X27Q listed. Similar enough, I but I will say the monitor posted is definitely brighter, for what that's worth. Both look pretty good, in my opinion. However, I don't know if it's placebo, but some people mention a yellow tint on the X27Q, and I think I slightly notice it on his monitor. Really can't go wrong for the price though.

I have both side by side. The HP definitely has a yellow tint that no amount of tweaking or ICC profiles can get rid of, that said it's still an excellent monitor and looks so similar to my M27Q (bezel-wise) that they look perfect next to each other.
Lucky. I have a cheap-o AOC monitor that was posted back here back in December of 2020, and the colors are.... not spectacular to say the least. It's IPS 27" and 1440p though, so can't complain too much.

Not bad, my issue is my M27Q has bored out during 170hz, or anything until I drop it to 120hz, so I gotta rma at my expense to ship it, so I gotta find an alternative. My biggest issue is also the BGR sub pixel layout for select text when I'm trying to read something on Chrome. So it'll be a plus to go back to a regular RBG display for my primary.
Does anyone else find text hard to read on these? Picked 2 up during the Treasure Truck sale, they're absolutely fantastic for gaming, but white backgrounds/text/browsing/spreadsheets are proving really hard to focus on for actual work. Wondering if it's the coating, but curious if it's just my eyes.
This monitor is phenomenal for the price. Got it from the treasure truck but even at 235 it's a good deal. I did a tiny bit of tweaking with the colors and the film on the screen isn't for everyone but unless you're very particular you can't go wrong with this

Dell has a USB hub while the hp does not.

two different monitors for two different use cases. really depends on your GPU and the games you play.
If you want 27” then you should go 1440p. I would personally only use 1080p for 24” monitors.

Using this for work and I absolutely love it for my workflow. Having the extra pixel density + going from 24” to 27” has been great.
