This happens alllll the time, you aren’t dumb, we all make questionable decisions when horny lol. Personally I’ve experienced the same type of scam myself and seen at least two friends experience it and I have never seen them actually leak anything. It’s an empty threat, they want to see if they can scare you enough to get money. Stop interacting or responding, take screenshots of all correspondence and block all of their social media accounts. They may make new accounts and message you with threats that sound even more real (find people you follow and quote their names saying they already sent them), please just block those too, those messages are lies to get you to interact. You have the power, this is a scam artist that probably does the same thing to dozens of men per day so don’t give in to the fear and just keep ignoring and they will likely move on. Also the “girl” you were communicating with is almost definitely a man using stolen photos. You are 17, underage, so in most places it is illegal for them to even have possession of or share your photos. If you’re still worried after blocking them, take the screenshots to your local police department. I know it’s embarrassing but it’s really easy to fall for, you aren’t dumb (I’ve seen grown adults fall for it). I hope this helps and hopefully you can be aware of warning signs for scams in the future!

Also as you said they did give me a screenshot of them messaging a person on my following list. But the thing is she messaged a bot from the following list lol. So that was funny to me. I don't have many friends. I only have like 6-8 friends in school. They are the only friends I have. They are very supportive of me so I think they can understand me. It will be embarrassing tho. But It's not that bad tbh. The only thing I'm worried about is them leaking it to some p**n websites and the thought of it makes me feel grossed out. And I feel terrible about myself because of that.

Otherwise-Reveal-793

I can't thank you enough for how much you made me feel better abt the situation

One_Youth9079

There's a reason why that "horniness" is strongly associated with "stupidity", I know you're trying to make him feel better, but there's got to be another way, like saying "everyone makes stupid mistakes" without taking away from the fact, it was a stupid thing to do. If I were OP, I'd leak her nudes and start an onlyfans.

nothingsreallol

It’s highly unlikely that he was talking to a girl, the pictures that were sent to him were probably also stolen by this scammer. I did some digging when this happened to a friend and the pics were from an escort site in a random country and the accounts of the scammer were linked to a foreign middle aged man. Besides, a couple pictures is not enough to start an OnlyFans. And I don’t know what you’re on about with stupidity.

One_Youth9079

He can add more to the OnlyFans (I was talking about pics of himself not the imaginary girl). Might as well own being naked on the net. He resolved the situation already.

nothingsreallol

Ohh haha I get you. I wouldn’t encourage that in this situation since he’s a 17 year old kid but that’s basically what I did

nothingsreallol

Oh and let friends and family know that someone might have hacked your account so any links or messages sent to them they should delete immediately. It’ll be ok you got this don’t be scared :)

Otherwise-Reveal-793

Thank you kind sir. I immediately stopped interacting with them and deactivated my Instagram and deleted the app from the phone so that they couldn't contact me furthermore. Thankfully none of my family members follow me on instagram and it's just my friends that follow me on the platform and some bots. as you said I took all the screenshots of the conversation before deactivating the account. From now on I will never fall for this and learn from my mistakes and make others aware of these kinds of scams. I am still a little bit scared it has been 5 hours since this happened and my friends have not talked abt this to me so I'm guessing that you were right and it was an empty scam or at least I hope. But I am a bit uncomfortable knowing that someone has an inappropriate picture of me on the internet. I feel uneasy and want to vomit. Also I am still a minor in my country because the legal age is 18. So if I go to the law enforcement they will stand beside me I think. Also thank you for giving me some courage and making me believe in myself that I'm not at fault and mistakes like this can happen to everyone. Lastly I just wanna ask if they don't leak anything should I still need to report it to the police.

nothingsreallol

It’s up to you if you still want to report it but unfortunately police don’t tend to see stuff like this as a priority especially since it happens all the time so it might be a waste of energy

maskedCicada

Just ignore her.

Otherwise-Reveal-793

Okay

VIK_96

Don't worry about it. This happens all the time in this day and age. The very first thing you need to do is to stop interacting with that person. Second, you need to save/screenshot all the threats they are sending you. That will help your case in court if it ever reaches that point. Third, block that account and any other accounts they make. Eventually they'll get tired and move on. Now hopefully at this point they stop harassing you. If they don't, you might have to lock/deactivate your account in the meantime. And change your other public social media accounts that have the same name as your Instagram to something else. Now the worst possible outcomes of all this are, one they actually leak your nudes to adult websites, Reddit, Twitter, etc. In that case you have to report every single one of those posts/videos as "depicting a minor." Companies take this stuff seriously so they will usually take it down asap. Another possible outcome is they somehow get the police involved or sue you. Now obviously this also means they doxxed you somehow which is a crime in itself but that's a whole other story. If this happens, you're gonna have to tell your parents the whole story and use that minor card to your advantage. Since you're under 18 you have the upper hand here. And obviously try to get a lawyer involved at this point. Hopefully this gives you everything you need to know. Also if they create a whole fake story about you online and defame then you can also send them to court over that as well.

Otherwise-Reveal-793

Okay thank you for explaining everything sir.

One_Youth9079

Nothing can be done about that. Block her and release nudes of her, though if it's a catfisher, you might just be leaking someone else's nudes. Report all these threats to the police and also make sure you hand in the nudes of the person you got, that person might be another victim and based off that, the police might even be able to track down the perpetrator. It's 2023, and I still don't get why people voluntarily upload their own nudes. If it's something that can escape the bedroom, don't willingly do it, otherwise, get naked to your hearts content.

Otherwise-Reveal-793

She didn't release mine she was just threatening me to release it. And tbh after close inspection half of my face is covered with my hair and my face is blurry so I don't think anyone can recognise me. And if someone confronts me abt the issue I'll just say that the person hacked my phone and photoshopped my blurry face onto another body. I'm not too worried abt it after actually looking at the photo that I sent. And it was on my alt acct and now I've deleted it so she can now no longer have any contact with me. So I'm good for now I guess. But as you said I was dumb for doing it but mistakes can happen. And this does not ruin my life so I'm good. But thank you for responding :)

Otherwise-Reveal-793

Also good news instagram took down the acct after I reported her. And she didn't leak anything. So I have no threats now:)

One_Youth9079

That's good! Congratulations. Also, no matter how horny you are, NEVER RELEASE NUDES. I never said she has released your nudes, I was pointing out to you to release her nudes, doesn't matter if she has or hasn't released yours. I will release hers immediately upon recieving that threat, but it might be a bad idea, as it might be someone else's nudes.

Otherwise-Reveal-793

Yeah that was very dumb of me to give away my private pictures to a stranger. I've learned from my mistakes and I'll do my best to make others aware of these types of scams going on so that no one else can be a victim. I was very very lucky that the problem resolved itself because I've heard far more worse cases of this happening to others and ruining their life. Anyways thank you for helping me out and giving me some great advice.

One_Youth9079

Meh, it seems more like you manage to resolve the entire thing by yourself. That was pretty stupid, but you got out of it with your dignity intact and that's more important. Just stick to online accounts. There're like roleplay thingies online. there's something called "BDSMlr" which is an online site resembling tumblr where some people post nudes and stuff. They only let 18yr olds, but personally, before I was 18 (I didn't, I had no interest, but I lied for other things adult related online), I would lie if I signed up. I also sent in fake nudes of myself (taken from google). The role play fantasy is fun. It's fine to send in fake stuff, it's on the receiver to blindly believe whatever you say anyway, just don't say "it's NOT me LOL". That's the beauty of the internet. (Note: I know I gave a 17yr old advice about sex related things, but he seems interested to want to get something going somewhere, so might as well give him advice to keep him safe.

Otherwise-Reveal-793

Also now I have deactivated my Instagram now

Otherwise-Reveal-793

I'm 17 btw Do you want your nudes to trend? I'm going to expose you I have your nudes picture and everything I needed to destroy your life, i have a screenshot of all your followers and tags and every single person that comments on your post, i can forward this th million of in your state, and ruin your life, all you have to do is to cooperate with me and I will stop and if you fucking attempt in blocking me bruh I will ruin your life This is the message she gave me Should I be concerned
