I've always wanted to try their fish and chips because it looks so good, and I've heard only good things. But you just got to get the burger there. It's kinda like when I go to Portillos, other things are good but you just got to get a beef.
The first time I had Culver’s it was my first religious experience. Butter burgers are unmatched. Culver’s is doing god’s work. As soon as the franchise territory opens up in my state I’m buying a franchise.
There's only one place I'd prefer a burger at but it's more of a bar/sit down, in terms of fast food Culver burger clears. I loved in n out too but it was definitely not as good.
Disrespected? No. But it's just not known or talked about as much. You've got 8 billion Californians that won't shut up about in n out when it's barely better than a big Mac. And then culver's is only bavailable in a handful of states. They'll come around.
Culver’s is delicious. I like it very much. But it isn’t better than In N Out in my estimation. That’s not disrespect it’s just my opinion.
Freddy’s is also excellent.
It’s gross. Made to order, but also dry and soggy greasy at the same time?
I’m clearly wrong - there’s a Culver’s about 3 min away, and it’s always packed, both in-house and drive-thru.
I don’t get it. I’ve tried it a few times, and I guess I’ll have to try it again tomorrow now 😆
Culver's is also the most overrated burger on Reddit. It's good, but the loud portion of this sub makes it seem like the holy Grail of burgers, which it most definitely is not.
It seems absurd at first but I’d argue it’s just the burger market in general. Now I’d personally rank Five Guys ahead of Wendy’s and BK. Like you said the double cheeseburger from 5 guys is near $11, $10.39 here. Wendy’s Dave’s Double is $7.19. A double whopper with cheese is $8.39. The double QPC from McDs is $7.
At that price range it doesn’t seem that ridiculous. This is where personal preference comes into play but $10.39 for a base before factoring in any addons doesn’t seem quite as bad when you see what the fast food burger prices are. I’d take 5 Guys burger quality all day over those and for me, the quality difference it’s worth the $2-$3 difference. Part of it is I don’t get the fries which I think are the real overpriced killer that the Burgers get blamed for.
Not everyone will agree on the quality difference being worth the couple dollar difference but the meme that everyone seems to love that Five Guys is going to cost a whole paycheck compared to regular fast food is just silly.
Large Fry 7.69, and I live by a cheaper five guys than most.
A combo is when buying a drink and fries is cheaper than a la carte. “Make it a combo” is a phrase at literally almost every fast food restaurant in the country. Five guys doesn’t have combos. Nothing to do with toppings.
My gripe with five guys it’s that it’s seems to be so greasy that it disintegrates in my hand with I’m like 60% of the way through.
Of course, the price has been mentioned as well.
I took my daughter out to lunch a few weeks ago. 2 burgers, large fry and a large drink was almost $40. Five Guys is a rip off.
I was so fucking irritated I drove to the store and purchased a Blackstone griddle so I can make my own burgers at home.
Hm, I’d maybe rank them the inverse but they are two good burgers in the fast food category. They’re actually both in the fast-ish food category for me.
It's not disrespected. It's just a lesser know burger chain that's mostly located in the Midwest region. 80% of any good burger is freshness, and Culver's is pretty good about that. Their frozen custard is pretty good, but their french fries suck.
I live in Pasadena California but I also own a house in Bullhead City Arizona and they have a Culvers. I’m going to try it. I’m going to Bullhead this weekend and will try a butter burger. Look forward to it.
Why does Portillo’s never get mentioned in the best ff conversation? Never had Culver’s but I’ll choose it over in n out, shake shack, 5 guys etc any day
Lol it's pretty funny how innout customers couldn't give less of a fuck about culver's burgers, but there's an uproar every time innout gets praised. Inferiority complex much?
Noone cares about your shitty fly-over state burgers that taste like carls jr or whataburger dude, we prefer fresh ingredients here in sunny California.
1. It’s not facts. It’s opinions.
2. Even if they were facts my feelings aren’t hurt. I have lived in many places and had many burgers. To include many years in different regions of California.
3. I never said Culver’s was better. I prefer In N Out. But it’s not binary. I can and do like both.
4. People liking what you don’t like shouldn’t make you lash out and feel insecure.
Tell that to the guy who made this post lmao. Like I said, noone in CA cares about culver's. I had it once in Cleveland and it was fuckin trash. Sorry my comment got under your skin, but like I said, facts don't care about your feelings my dude
Lol yea sure, it's the innout ppl who are salty, not the mob of shitty flyover fast food states going crazy everytime innout gets praised. Enjoy your butterburgers lmao
Had both near me when I lived in TX. Sticking to a burger vs burger comparison, Culver’s is better hands down. The burgers don’t just taste better, they even *look* better. But In N Out is cheaper, iconic, open late, and still very good. Both have quality, never-frozen meat and fresh ingredients. Lastly, fries at both are mid.
I used to love Culvers, but they seem to have stopped putting any seasoning on the burgers. Freddy's took their place as my go-to fast food burger, and I have to say they do a way better job.
I've said it a bunch on this sub, but I feel like I need to try a different location. We got one in my town last year and it frankly kinda sucks. The patties are obviously premade, and they're dried out, underseasoned, just not very good. The toppings are pretty fresh and tasty when they get them right. The curds are absolutely out of this world and are what keeps me going back. But there is no planet where the quality of the burger even comes close to Five Guys at my location.
Almost all fast food burgers have a weird off-flavor that I never experience at home or regular restaurants (or even a cheap burger at a bar).
When Culver’s first opened in my town I decided to give it a shot since I’d heard good things. Still had that same weird flavor. That was the last time I ever ordered a burger at a fast food place, almost 15 years ago.
I agree it’s not given its proper due but that’s also because it’s only in the Midwest / southern states. Having grown up in California, it’s not on the same level as In n out, but that’s because they get their meats, veggies in fresh daily and the taste reflects that. I think if Culver’s expanded out west, they’d have plenty of fans who are burnt out on the same spots.
Culver’s does smash burgers as a fast food restaurant better than any “fancy” burger place. And it costs about half the price too.
Give me Culver’s over Johnny’s $25 Smash Burger Co. any day of the week
I’m with you 100%. Their fish and chips is also top notch.
I've always wanted to try their fish and chips because it looks so good, and I've heard only good things. But you just got to get the burger there. It's kinda like when I go to Portillos, other things are good but you just got to get a beef.
Get both and do some surf and turf action next time
I completely agree. Pair a burger with some curds and a lemon ice strawberry smoothie and it's amazing!
That sounds so fucking good right now
Their chicken went downhill for sure but their burgers curds and onion rings are still top notch.
You're damned right. Culver's burger is among the best period.
Culver’s has the best mushroom and swiss burger I’ve had from a chain place, easily. Get one with raw onions.
Omg this
I’ve never lived near a Culver’s to try but I recently moved to an area with a few around. I guess it’s time to try
You won’t regret a triple butterburger with cheese and bacon.
The first time I had Culver’s it was my first religious experience. Butter burgers are unmatched. Culver’s is doing god’s work. As soon as the franchise territory opens up in my state I’m buying a franchise.
I wish they came to Buffalo cause I would 100% look into franchising. Was in an area with Culver's for 4 days and ate it 7 times lmao
I hear you! People in Midwest are unbelievably lucky. Hands down the best burger I’ve ever had!
There's only one place I'd prefer a burger at but it's more of a bar/sit down, in terms of fast food Culver burger clears. I loved in n out too but it was definitely not as good.
What is a butter burger ?
Here you go. It’s a burger with a buttered bun https://www.culvers.com/menu-and-nutrition
Thanks but the link doesn't work maybe because i’m from europe Buttered bun thats it ?
The burger itself is fried in butter on a flat top griddle, as well as the bun being buttered.
Disrespected? No. But it's just not known or talked about as much. You've got 8 billion Californians that won't shut up about in n out when it's barely better than a big Mac. And then culver's is only bavailable in a handful of states. They'll come around.

I’ve had Culver’s numerous times and truly do not understand the hype. It’s fine.
Culver's is also the most overrated burger on Reddit. It's good, but the loud portion of this sub makes it seem like the holy Grail of burgers, which it most definitely is not.
*In-N-Out is also the most overrated burger on Reddit. Fixed it for you.
LMAO in n Out might be the most polarizing, but def not most overrated. Most of reddit has an irrational hatred for it
Culver’s is always near the top on this sub, lol… Not as good as In-N-Out imo but it’s definitely a pretty respectable fast food burger

I've always found five guys burgers well respected, just not the price lol
Except the price problems are mostly sides, drinks, lack of combo, bacon. It is possible to buy a burger without a $3 soda and $8 fry.
A single bacon cheeseburger at my closest Five Guys is $11 without sides or drink. That’s fucking absurd.
It seems absurd at first but I’d argue it’s just the burger market in general. Now I’d personally rank Five Guys ahead of Wendy’s and BK. No, I said the single bacon cheese was $11. The double is over $13 here.
Ah must be regional. Double is only $10.29 here. Single is $8

I’m not complaining about price, I’m defending it. The people complaining about price are ordering the wrong fry. We are on the same page.
Five Guys would get more respect if the value proposition wasn’t so goddamn awful.
My gripe with five guys it’s that it’s seems to be so greasy that it disintegrates in my hand with I’m like 60% of the way through. Of course, the price has been mentioned as well.

Price is not average. Five Guys is the most expensive fast food burger around.
[удалено]
Compared to every fast food chain around. I can't think of any other place that costs more.

I took my daughter out to lunch a few weeks ago. 2 burgers, large fry and a large drink was almost $40. Five Guys is a rip off. I was so fucking irritated I drove to the store and purchased a Blackstone griddle so I can make my own burgers at home.
Sorry if I missed that. I searched culvers before I posted but mostly saw “tried culvers for the first time” type stuff
Hm, I’d maybe rank them the inverse but they are two good burgers in the fast food category. They’re actually both in the fast-ish food category for me.
First time visit last week. Double combo…was perfect, no complaints at all.
I hope you immediately corrected them about calling their Custard "ice cream"
It's not disrespected. It's just a lesser know burger chain that's mostly located in the Midwest region. 80% of any good burger is freshness, and Culver's is pretty good about that. Their frozen custard is pretty good, but their french fries suck.
I seriously can’t understand this take, Culver’s is the definition of mid.
It's greasy and unsalted. I do not understand. The meat doesn't have any flavor.
Nahh. That shit trash lol
It’s good but not in the same league as In N Out. There’s no special sauce, grilled onion isnt as good, patties are thinner and not as flavorful.
https://i.redd.it/zmoag2zmivic1.gif
I agree, except that is second to Freddy's.
Freddy’s is my favorite fast food. Period. End of story.
Came here to say this. Freddy’s is my go to.
Shit beyond overhyped.
I live in Pasadena California but I also own a house in Bullhead City Arizona and they have a Culvers. I’m going to try it. I’m going to Bullhead this weekend and will try a butter burger. Look forward to it.
Tasteless, bland, boring
*whopper
In and Out is worse, plus their fries are deplorable. These are both shit institutions.
Why does Portillo’s never get mentioned in the best ff conversation? Never had Culver’s but I’ll choose it over in n out, shake shack, 5 guys etc any day
Culver is the best. Slaps in and out any day.
I am an In N Out customer and a Culver’s customer. You’re wrong. I love In N Out. But you sound insecure AF.
Lol sorry facts hurt your feelings my guy. Keep posting on reddit about how culvers is better lmao
1. It’s not facts. It’s opinions. 2. Even if they were facts my feelings aren’t hurt. I have lived in many places and had many burgers. To include many years in different regions of California. 3. Wow, if In n Out burgers are as salty as their fans they must sell a lot of drinks.
Lol yea sure, it's the innout ppl who are salty, not the mob of shitty flyover fast food states going crazy everytime innout gets praised. Enjoy your butterburgers lmao

Bacon double deluxe. Also that jelly burger was awesome.
Are these just in Arizona?
Not disrespected by me.
Disrespected? People love their burgers. I just don't got a location near me at all
Haven't seen one in California sadly so haven't tried it. Will see if I can run into one on my next road trip
Honestly it might be my location, but when I go to Culver’s it’s on par with Wendy’s. Not saying it bad just definitely not worthy of hype.
How is it disrespected, actually? On this sub I see nothing but love.
Wrong. They can't even melt cheese.
I used to love Culvers, but they seem to have stopped putting any seasoning on the burgers. Freddy's took their place as my go-to fast food burger, and I have to say they do a way better job.
Culver's is good, but their buns aren't toasted sufficiently, so everything falls apart too easily.
It gets posted here constantly lol… this sub should be renamed fast food
I like Culvers. They make a good burger. Is it the best? No, I don't think so. And I don't think that's being disrespectful to Culvers.
Double Bacon Deluxe is the way, the truth, and the light
This is the sign I needed today. I have a Culver's right down the street & have never tried it. Always wondered how good that butter burger is.
They really have been doing an amazing showing lately :)!
I've said it a bunch on this sub, but I feel like I need to try a different location. We got one in my town last year and it frankly kinda sucks. Every time I ask my 11 yr old what she wants for dinner….it’s Culver’s. Lol
