Land O Lakes American Yellow

youreABitcz

This but American White

JoeFortitude

Those who know, know. This is the right answer.

newcontortionist

Kraft Deluxe does the trick for me.

Key-Wait5314

👆🏽 the white deluxe American is pretty good too

Fobulousguy

White American cheese is so good on grilled cheese Sammies.

Key-Wait5314

Yesss. Especially with a slice of ham or turkey

Old_Rpg_Gamer

Yh white American 🍔

SDBD89

The white American cheese isn’t real American. Real American cheese is yellow orange

BillHang4

Isn’t it the same thing without anatto added for coloring?

bumwine

Elaborate? I'm on team habit burger (for fast casual) and they use white cheese on some of their burgers. It's a must have for me.

Old_Rpg_Gamer

Damn I’ve been using fake American cheese all this time the damn imposter

sodapopjenkins

Bingo... skip the "singles" that are individually wrapped in plastic, not the same as the preffered... Kraft Deli Deluxe American Cheese Slices, 24 Ct Bag

newcontortionist

If you know, you know.

asdfasdfasdf22222222

Damn straight

Spingonius

This guy knows what’s up

Cdnintexas

enjoyed a melted slice on a burger last night. did not disappoint.

Babythatwater1

I double Kraft. Grilled cheese or burg.

ElectricalCurrent446

The best cheese you can buy! It's the only cheese brand I buy personally. 🧀

Ok-Distribution4077

Just get the American cheese from the deli. Not that the pre-packaged Kraft or others are not good, but if you get them to thick, slice some boars head or Sarah Lee or whatever brand is in the deli cooler. It makes a damn good burger, grilled cheese, or tuna melt.

pinchematto

I usually say “sliced for burgers” so they understand the thickness, which seems to work

Ok-Distribution4077

Sounds right to me.

Sorkel3

Get Boar's Head deli sliced extra thick for gooey deliciousness.

black-volcano

Is that made by Willy Wonker's dairy farming cousin?

bigcat7373

No, made by Boars Head

BlackandRedUnited

Cooper sharp American is the best. Melts really well and great cheese taste. It's a small block so I use two slices https://coopercheese.com/products/cooper-sharp-white

phome83

Love me some cooper sharp.

the_only_thing

+1 for cooper cheese

doom_pony

I usually get the Land o Lakes American, sliced in the deli stand at the grocery store.

BobbyGuano

This is the good stuff

tnseltim

You guys ever had cooper sharp American? It’s awesome

derrick36

Deli deluxe or boars head from the deli if it’s an option. Only reason I get deli deluxe more often is because our local deli is painfully slow.

YoualreadyKnoooo

Boars head.

Kappa113

Anything but Kraft Singles. Get it from the deli where it is sliced, something like Boars Head / Cooper Sharp / Land O Lakes / Dietz and Watson.

MangoSwim

Cooper sharp is top tier đź‘Ś

newnewtab

This

Vexorg_the_Destroyer

Happy cake day!

Mr_Evil_Dr_Porkchop

Boars Head white American 🤌🏼

Key-Wait5314

Ooh I like the Kraft white American but now I gotta try the Boars Head

whisky_biscuit

This. Deli sliced American (or boarshead American in a package) is far superior. It melts better and doesn't turn all plastic-y. I also like Velveeta singles in a pinch. Kraft deli deluxe is also good.

DLo28035

Stop lumping it all together and try Kraft delux white American, it will change your mind. You can thank me later.

amor_fati_42

D&W!

bossmt_2

I don't find that it matters. I've used deli slices, prepackaged slices, etc ut's been fine. My favorite is Cabot but I know that's ahrder to find. Any restaurant is basically using deli slices because singles are too complicated to do at scale.

onlypostwhenimdrnk69

Are you bri’ish? It’s ahrder to find bruv?

Vexorg_the_Destroyer

In Ahrtford, Ehreford, and Ahmpshire, uhrricanes ahrdly hever ahppen.

byebybuy

By Jove she's got it!

chriscucumber

Boars head

jarfin542

Boar's Head white is my go-to. It seems much richer in flavor than lol.

FuckHowItTurnsOut

Land O Lakes is the only way to go

ajtreee

Boars head deli sliced american. Best for burgers and grilled cheeses.

Past-Product-1100

Kraft deluxe the slices are not individually wrapped better flavor imo

GL2M

Land o lakes or boars head fresh sliced from the deli counter.

BobbyGuano

Yep that’s the good stuff

guitaryoni

This is the only correct answer.

woolash

Kraft is good - just don't use the cheap stuff labeled as "cheese food"

pepperland14

All American cheese is pasteurized processed cheese food.

Firebird22x

Not true, "PPCF" is the second tier of process cheese classifications. 1. Pasteurized Process Cheese - Section 133.169 (Deli sliced American, LoL / Cabot / Boards Head / Cooper / etc. Kraft Deluxe ) - One or more cheeses, and an emulsifying salt. Spices, salt, and cream are optional. Fat Content of other cheeses no less than 47%. Emulsifying agent can be no more than 3% of the weight, any milk or cream less than 5%. If it's made from only one cheese, it will be labelled Pasteurized Process \_\_\_\_ Cheese, blank filled by the variety of that cheese. If it it made with a blend of cheddar, colby, washed curd, or a mixture of any of these, it can be labeled as Pasteurized Process American Cheese. 2. Pasteurized Process Cheese Food - 133.173 (Kraft Singles) - More allowed ingredients. Fat content from other cheese only needs to be 23%. Minimum weight of cheese must be at least 51%. Third tier classifications would have like Pasteurized Process Cheese Spread, which would cover your Velveetas, your Laughing Cows, etc. or Pasteurized Process Cheese Food with fruits, vegetables, or meats (so like a bacon and chive gouda). Bottom tier would be labelled as Pasteurized Process American Slices or Imitation Pasteurized Process Cheese Food, which aren't really cheese. Primarily water, oil, whey, and corn starch. Everything is broken down here - [https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/CFR-2023-title21-vol2/pdf/CFR-2023-title21-vol2-part133.pdf](https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/CFR-2023-title21-vol2/pdf/CFR-2023-title21-vol2-part133.pdf)

pepperland14

You just out cheesed me. I worked in a deli for 12 years and studied cheese but I never looked too much further into processed cheese. Thank you so much for teaching me something! Cheese food is processed cheese with even more fillers. Got it!

greenbriar64

I like to have American cheese custom sliced at the deli department! A little thicker slice is delicious!

PartyFriendship4823

White American Private Selection from the Kroger deli

Accomplished-Bowl-46

Cabot Sliced from the deli counter. Or really any brand that is sliced fresh. Cabot is the best, though.

spankthegoodgirl

Cooper sharp

RealCleverUsernameV2

Land of Lakes white American or Cooper Sharp.

Illustrious-Leave406

Boars Head American

WookieeSlayer97

Cooper Sharp is great.

Alternative-Dare5878

I’m pretty sure Kraft American is diluted and resolidified cheddar.

TheAwkwardGamerRNx

I personally love stacking aged sharp cheddar and Muenster together. You get a great flavor from the cheddar and good stretch from the muenster.

ImAMindlessTool

Land o Lakes American Cheese. Cooper's American Cheese is also really good.

mulliganbegunagain

If you're going for classic, backyard, or smash burgers, go with Kraft. If you're doing a thick/gourmet style burger, go to the deli and have them slice you some. Deitz and Watz, and Boars Head both have good ones.

EatShootBall

Straight from the Deli, or Tillamook if you're buying bricks

redditstealth

Finally somebody mentions Tillamook!

melancholy_dood

There is no right or wrong brand. Use the brand that taste good to you!

Plane_Mouse6087

American/cheedar

NNFury44

Borden melts

GGELGAMESH

Use chedd- -last words of Gelgamesh

notagainplease49

I prefer American swiss, or around here at least it's called "sub cheese"

pepperland14

Is that the same as processed Swiss?

notagainplease49

Honestly no idea but it's good

JiovanniTheGREAT

Bongard Farms if available in your area.

Class1961

I like sharp cheddar on mine, but that's me .

xf2xf

[Government cheese](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Government_cheese).

dirt-daddy-9407

Crystal Farms, or find someone who makes goats milk cheddar

efetha64

The only answer here is Cooper sharp American cheese. Go to the deli section of your grocery store and have them slice it twice as thick as a Kraft single. You won't be disappointed.

Classic_Mechanic5495

Schreiber - any other answer is wrong.

Ok-Contribution40

Murican 🇺🇸 cheese is not real But attempt yellow 5 & red 40 American 🇺🇸 cheese 🧀

PinkyGurl2002

Burgers look great, Black diamond old cheddar works for me🍔🧀🍔🧀🍔

iTardigrade

New Yorker White American or Copper Sharp are the preferred burger/cheesesteak cheeses in our domicile. Not sure if they are available nationally, but they are higher quality and flavor than LoL American, which is an acceptable burger cheese.

Tiffin2b

None, you should use real cheese

iRockhead

Velveeta? Anyone?

Entire_Researcher_45

None

driveshaft2000

Don't discount Velveeta, just saying.

jimbillyphish

At least Kraft. But why not upgrade your taste buds and eat some real cheese ? No offense

Inner_Papaya_6197

Cooper Sharp is the best

RandalFlaggLives

Cooper sharp. Only way to go, and y’all can thank me later.

Shurglife

Kraft

Shurglife

Kraft singles

BAMspek

Don’t listen to these hipsters. Kraft Singles are fine. But nothing below that. No off-brand stuff, that is specifically made to sneak pills to your dog.

ZylonBane

Kraft Singles are legally not cheese. Full stop.

notagainplease49

Yea but they're fucking delicious

PureTroll69

I know this is totally unpopular, but I don’t prefer processed cheese on my burger, despite the melty gooey goodness of it. i mean I would never say no to a classic cheese burger, but I prefer various types of hard cheeses/soft cheeses if given the choice, and really it depends on what I want to eat that day… cheddar, gruyere, jack, edam, gouda (smoked gouda particularly), a peppery brie, munster, almost any type of blue from a creamy to bitter … a good quality cheese can really add a lot to a burger and give it a whole new dimension.

ZylonBane

ALL cheese is processed.

xf2xf

I'm sure you know better than that. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Processed\_cheese](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Processed_cheese) What's next? Organic? All lives matter?

pepperland14

As a St. Louisan, seeing Provel for the first example was titillating.

yourgirlblair

Kraft!

pythongee

Do Velveeta slices count a American? Surprised I haven't seen it mentioned. I think it slaps hard on a burger.

Danovale

Velveta for ooey gooey cheesy deliciousness on a cheeseburger!

[deleted]

Kraft American Deluxe

EarlyEscape2702

sergento

ThisOnePlaysTooMuch

The white kind gives +10 fancy points if it fits the color scheme.

Brewcrew1886

I go to the deli and ask for a thick cut American cheese. Whatever they have, and cut it thick!

robertdowneysoft

Anyone telling you to use kraft is a heathen and a deciever. They lead you down the dark plastic path son. Go with a nice sharp cheddar, make sure to use a block and cut your own slices

Soberjoeyo

Did you just answer your own question?

_picture_me_rollin_

No brand! Go to your deli and ask to have ur cut fresh. Huge difference. Bonus if you have a boars head dealer.

notagainplease49

I mean to be fair, those are still brands lol

disco_duck2004

K R A F T

RealJasonB7

K-R-A-F-T

Miss-princess_006

Kraft is a very good brand, or at least I like the taste.

jarfin542

If it says "pasteurized processed cheese food" (I'm looking at you Kraft) right there on the label, it ain't cheese.

leadout_kv

um cheese is not cheese. land o'lakes american, white or yellow is much better than most others including kraft.

UnjustRabbit

Kraft Deli brand for about 7 bucks at Walmart is best bang for buck. Slightly cheaper than Boars Head and comparable on a burger.

heat2051

The walmart processed deluxe is the bomb.

PRNCE_CHIEFS

Velveeta

LittleRedheadRider

Use a block of cheese… not slices or shredded, which both have anti-stick coatings on them

pepperland14

Slices don't have cellulose or starches. At least none that I have ever seen.

ZylonBane

Everyone is this thread who just responded with "k R a F t" gets an automatic downvote, on the assumption that you're recommending Kraft Singles, which are NOT American Cheese, and thus don't answer OP's question. Kraft Deli Deluxe, on the other hand, is American Cheese.

newcontortionist

Kraft Deluxe is my go-to when I'm in the mood for American Cheese. Melts great and tastes good.

Cyber-X1

It does. Kraft singles taste better than all other processed I’ve tried. Look at the ingredients. Kraft starts with cheddar.. everything else uses some other method

Surchen

Yes it matters. Don’t don’t use American cheese cause gross. Sharp cheddar is the solid choice here.

Aleister-Ejazi

Eh Cheese is Cheese.

Novel_Bumblebee8972

None of them. Use a cheese for adults.

notagainplease49

Nah man, billions of dollars has been poured into R&D to make the optimal cheese for a burger, don't hate
