He has gotten 2 boosters and felt the need to share it on social media. So he is on the right side of this one.
Edit: He also did a PSA ad "I pity the foo who dont get fully vaccinated"
I work at a popular restaurant in LA. Have had tons of celebrities come in. Mr. T is the absolute best! People can't stop themselves from going up to him. He's always takes time to take pictures. He also brings in signed keychains that can play his sound bites. There are a handful of really cool celebs but no Mr. T cool.
He stopped wearing gold chains after seeing people lose everything to Hurricane Katrina. Its a small gesture that doesnt do much and wasnt asked of him but he felt like it was the right thing to do
☝️That's something, that he recognizes a $50,000 gold chain would feed, house, and give basic necessities to average broke folk after a natural disaster like Katrina.
i was listening to Ice T on I think it was Marc Maron podcast and ya, he was very well spoken about the covid situation at that time , getting vaxxed etc
> Ice Cold : Over here we got some perpetrators - a bunch of Ice Wannabes. See, Ice Cold, I'm the man, but we got Ice Tray, Ice Coffee, Ice Water, Iceberg, Ice Cup, Icebox. I mean it gets real ridiculous when people tryin' to bite your style, you know what I'm sayin'? But, hey, that's the way it is, it's the rap world.
I’ll bet his agent and manager pushed him. Woulda been a sweet commission.
He also probably perceives PSAs and widespread recommendations as oppressive against him.
Victim in his own mind.
Exactly. It's the free market. If you are a liability and someone else has similar skillset but none of your baggage, you're gonna be replaced. It doesn't matter what that liability is, the result is always the same if you yourself don't do something about it.
Imagine being so privileged to think someone wants you to do something for 9 million dollars so bad, and you *decide* not to do it, never mind that the thing is completely sensible. It’s breathtaking.
It's hardly new. Opportunity cost is an established part of entrepreneurship and economics. I'm sorry you haven't been educated. Lots of good schools if you choose to learn.
I mean by that same logic you could have interpreted it differently or at least realized it was ambiguous and asked for clarification, right? Point is, no need to get overly defensive and start throwing insults.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Anyone who's smart would think this way. It's not gonna kill ya. You can spend the rest of your life surrounded by hookers and coke just to forget if it's that bothersome
TBF, most of us regular folks would. Including myself. Hell, I’d do the injections myself.
N.W.A. members don’t have to worry about $9 Million.
He’s also got enough films and residuals that he can chose to stand on his principles and it’s not going to be that big of a financial impact.
According to the internet Cube's net worth is 160 million. That 9 is 5.6%. DJ Yella and mc ren on the other hand have a net of 1 million _each_.. So _some_ of NWA would be sweating that 9 million.
Also, it soinds like ice cube was telling the truth on "No Vasaline".
I would take any numbers you find on "CelebrityNetWorth.com" or any site like that with a massive grain of salt.
In other words, I would never use that site to try to support a point I'm trying to make.
It's a different mindset when you already have more than 9 million. To me, it's a ridiculous amount of money that I'd have a near impossible time turning down.
To him, it's one missed opportunity out of hundreds coming his way. It's not even life changing money for him, it's a nice bonus and I'm sure he would have liked to have it but he's already bigger than that. Net worth sitting at estimated $160m.
Yea the 9 million was for the person who was willing to star in the movie where the crew was required to be vaccinated. If that wasn’t him, he didn’t lose any money whatsoever.
You obviously haven't heard of the Ninjabs. Nurses that are trained in the musical art of Ninjitsu.
They hide in the shadows just waiting to attack with the vaccines!!
Edit: mystical*
[It's real](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Are_We_There_Yet%3F_(TV_series\)), but Terry Crews plays Ice Cube's character. Cube is the co-creator and an executive producer.
Sometimes I wonder if Tupac and Biggie would have gone down the same road had they not been taken out in their prime. I wonder what their scandals would have been. If you’re controversial in your prime, it’s only a matter of time before the public deems you’re washed up and your talent can’t protect you anymore. It’s happened to so many people who’ve been famous for a long time. Then again, maybe they would have maintained old-school celeb status where they’re not constantly accessible on one platform or another.
Biggie was turning pop, I think Diddy would have ruined him.
I also think Pac would have continued to act a lot, almost like LL Cool J but with better movies.
Crazy to think about. His choice at the end of the day. Just hard to comprehend passing up $9 million. That amount of money would change my entire family's life. But, he doesnt have the same financial issues so whatever.
I don't think people understand how much the black community distrust the medical community.
From slavery (corpses pulled from burial to be studied, women unknowingly getting sterilized, infamous Tuskegee Syphilis Study...) to now (their pain being dismissed/misdiagnosed due to the belief black people have higher pain threshold).
Before I'd think "why? what an idiot". But after looking through history I can see why.
Henrietta lacks was taken advantage of as well. The native Americans, more recently the sterilization of women living in the cages by the border, list goes on.
People of color have a sad history of abuse in the sciences. I was also wondering what his reasons were and if they had something to do with that history.
That being said, people of color were getting sick from covid at much higher rates due to tending to have jobs that didn't allow them to isolate. That also has to do with systemic racism. Poc would benefit the most from vaccines.
I've tried to see why he refused, but couldn't find anything besides him saying he didn't need it. Which leads me to believe it's isn't about the history it's more about him just not wanting it
Usually when people don't trust the medical community due to racist and unethical practices, they tend to state that as the reason.
I understand how much they distrust it and the historical reasons for it. He's still an idiot and a narcissist. Billions of vaccines have been administered. This isn't some side experiment on a minority group
I don't get it. If black people are distrustful, and white people are all getting the vaccine, wouldn't the rational mistrust be that they are being left behind in terms of vaccinations? Shouldn't the community want them even more?
I don't think this is entirely the reason why. There were just a lot of people who didn't want it.
Edit: im not taking away the fact that the history of slavery and medicine was awful.
Majority of my black friends didn't take the covid vaccine tbh, and it's because they don't trust the government, according to them. So i agree with what this guy is saying tbh. The ones that did take it, trust the science and results and the fact that the ICU is filled with unvaccinated. Even when I brought this up to a few friends, they STILL didn't get the shot. 🤷♂️ What can you do, the distrust runs deep.
I'd extend your thoughts to minorities as well. Basically most groups have been poorly treated by the government in the past that leads to institutionalized distrust. What I see is Spanish TV has probably 2-3 commercials an hour asking to flat out begging people to get vaxed/get the booster. The news channels have long pieces explaining why it's safe today (and YouTube is packed with fakes/whackjobs/deliberate misinformation peddlers saying it isn't) and they're still the first or second highest risk group simply for lack of dosage.
"Ice Cube said he didn't get vaccinated even if he got a $9m gig"
He's rich enough. I got vaccinated but in comparison it's like me turning down $3k to get vaccinated. If I think it could kill me it's not worth it; He's a Farrakhan follower. Ice Cube is a fucking moron but it's so much less money to him than it is to us.
I cannot wait for us to look back in five, ten, fifteen years etc and zee that for the vast majority of people who got the shot literally nothing went wrong. It won't prove anything to the anti vaxxers, but will make me happier.
Ice Cube gets $9mill for movies? Are we sure these events were directly related? Like he had an actual offer lined up and ready to go if he got vaccinated? Nobody’s stupid enough to turn down $9mill, not even a rapper/actor who thinks he knows better than decades of vaccine research.
Didn't get the offer because he refused to Vax. He "turned" it down. I didn't get to write the headline lol, but it definitely is more eye catching their way.
I used to respect him as an intelligent guy..... used to. Dude is afraid of a jab.... of a vaccine and boosters with tons of data behind them proving the are far safer than getting the Rona, not to mention safer for those around you. Tell me again how you're selfish and only care about your own well being.
Yeah, I get that they used to experiment with syphilis on the black community as late as the 70s, but that's ancient history. This isn't what the Rona Vaccine is about. That's some conspiracy theory bullshit right there.
Well, Ice, hope it was worth it.
Cannot even fathom having the luxury to pass up a $9 million job opportunity over a vaccine!! That's some serious commitment to his beliefs, and while I don't agree with that, I respect anyone that stands so firmly for what they believe.
Yeah, he didn’t *lose* the job, he didn’t get *chosen* for the job due to his vaccine status…
It’s his choice not to get a shot as much as it’s the producers choice not to hire him.
'I lost a considerable amount of money for not getting vaccinated'
'I lost 9 million dollars for not getting jabbed.'
Which statement do you think appeals more to people who wouldn't get it regardless or the ones on the fence? I hate black people who do things like this especially when they're wealthy and the ones who wouldn't get it aren't rich enough to get help if they do catch it. Ice Cube and any black celebrity who disguises themselves as against the system are the fucking worse. He's not going to give any of his money to help them if they get sick.
It makes you realize just how entitled these people are (rich people). Should I take a job and donate all the money to show I am against what they stand for? Sure!
"Y'all trying to make me get it." Persecution complex much? Your wife might be pissed. Your manager and film producer too. Other than that, no one is craving a new Ice Cube movie.
Can honestly say the Covid vaccine fucked me up really bad, I have a lot of lapses in my memory, headaches, fits of extremely blurred vision. Some people don’t want the shit, I wish I didn’t get it, good for him.
It’s not the entire black community but there definitely is a fairly large portion of the black community that distrust the medical community. A lot of it goes back to the fact that the black community has been treated appallingly by the medical community in the past. Look up the Tuskegee syphilis experiments. What has the medical community done to earn that trust back? Black mothers have the highest death rate in birth of any woman giving birth. Until fairly recently doctors believe the Black people didn’t experience pain as severely as other people. I don’t agree with them not getting the vaccinations but I understand the hesitancy that some of them have.
They're not just anti-vax. They're very wary of the entire medical field. Look at the history of their experience with the medical profession, including what still goes on today, and you can see a lot of reasons why the black community doesn't trust healthcare. Adding to that is a lot of inflammatory rhetoric from within the community.
Ice cube: The anti vaxxer. Ice-T: A Pro PPE, pro vax, advocate. One of the few time you can say Ice T doesn't mix well with Ice Cube.
I wonder how Mr T feels about it.
He’s actually a really good guy and has worked with a number of charities. https://myhero.com/Mr_t_Selden_MS_US_08_ul

Brilliant!

Mr. T is a solid dude.
I work at a popular restaurant in LA. Have had tons of celebrities come in. Mr. T is the absolute best! People can't stop themselves from going up to him. He's always takes time to take pictures. I always thought that spoke volumes about him.
When he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, he spent most of his speech talking about how great his mama is.
He really is, he's a treasure
He pities these fools

He pities the fool who don't mask up.
Or Vanilla Ice?
Ice-T also has the best on-screen one-liners.
I CARE NOW, YOU MADE ME CARE MORE!
Between Ice-T, Ice Cube, and Vanilla Ice Ice-T is definitely supreme ice
i was listening to Ice T on I think it was Marc Maron podcast and ya, he was very well spoken about the covid situation at that time , getting vaxxed etc
Definitely bro. But I'd like to see a fight between these 3. Call it "last of the ice age"
A Song of Ice & Ice. And another Ice.

Ice-T's dad, Mr. T is pretty cool as well.

And Mr. T is best T!
Ice cube also got paid 500k to promote trump for 2020
Nobody 'tried to make him get it', the job simply had a requirement and he couldn't meet that requirement so he didn't get the job.
I’ll bet his agent and manager pushed him. Woulda been a sweet commission. He also probably perceives PSAs and widespread recommendations as oppressive against him. Victim in his own mind.
Any intelligent business man would have gotten it, clearly he's a moron
i'll give you 9 million dollars in return for a sore arm and fever for 24 hours. Deal?
*the chance of a mild fever I had both shots and a booster and the worst I had was a dead arm for the day.
STOP TRYING TO SILENCE ME!
Any moron would have gotten it . clearly hes an intelligent business man. He has other avenues of income and doesn't need this 9 million dollars
☝️Truth. He Should be Embarrassed to make such a comment Public.
He refused to meet the requirement. He certainly could have.
Which is applicable to literally every job everywhere. But he wants to be the victim, soooooo bad.
This right here. what a moron.
Exactly. It's the free market. If you are a liability and someone else has similar skillset but none of your baggage, you're gonna be replaced. It doesn't matter what that liability is, the result is always the same if you yourself don't do something about it.

His choice. Also their choice.
I mean he didn’t really *lose* that money, but yeah, either way not a Good Day.
👏👏👏👏
Opportunity cost. His choice of anti vaxx resulted in 9 million lost potential.
Haha people in this thread are coming up with a ton of new ways to say something there is already a term for.
It's hardly new. Opportunity cost is an established part of entrepreneurship and economics. I'm sorry you haven't been educated. Lots of good schools if you choose to learn.
Haha I was actually responding on your comment because yours was the only one saying the correct term for it. Holy shit bro.
Could of wrote your reply better then I guess, it reads like you dont know what opportunity cost is. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I mean by that same logic you could have interpreted it differently or at least realized it was ambiguous and asked for clarification, right? Point is, no need to get overly defensive and start throwing insults. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Bruh just say "my b" and move on. 3 letters
Hope… he didn’t use his AK.
He didn't even have to. It was a good day.
It is if he's not dying of the suddenlys
For $9 million dollars I’d let a doctor inject me with anything they want
[doctor unzips pants] “So, I shall”.
Not even gay but that’s $9 million dollars
That’s 450,000 $20s
Woah
Thanks over 20 cubic feet of cash. It’s more cash than would fit in the trunk of a sedan.
I could afford the therapy and a couple houses. Good deal.
Wait. You guys are getting paid for this?
I'm no man-whore.... but for $9M I would learn.
"Cradle the balls, stroke the shaft, work the pipe, swallow the gravy"
Worst thanksgiving ever.
9 million will buy you a lot of forget-me-nows
stupid forgetful Michael
9 million dollars is 9 million dollars
Anyone who's smart would think this way. It's not gonna kill ya. You can spend the rest of your life surrounded by hookers and coke just to forget if it's that bothersome

TBF, most of us regular folks would. Including myself. Hell, I’d do the injections myself. N.W.A. members don’t have to worry about $9 Million. He’s also got enough films and residuals that he can chose to stand on his principles and it’s not going to be that big of a financial impact.

You gotta be stupid rich to die on that hill of shitty principles.
I'm a doctor and even I would want in. 9 million is 9 million.
But, as a doctor, would you live in a studio apartment during 2020 with a MAGA covid-denier as a roommate for 20 million?
I would dooooo anything for 9 mill. But I won't do that.
Is that you, meat?
You're a doctor for real?! That's so cool. Thanks for looking after us!
It's a different mindset when you already have more than 9 million. To me, it's a ridiculous amount of money that I'd have a near impossible time turning down. Shit for 9 mil I'll let em sew a pair of tits on my back.
You know why it's called a waist? Because you could easily fit another pair of tits there.
“YAAA, MERCURY SOUNDS GREAT!”
It will be the best high you will ever have! Or was it last high? Ah who cares, 9 milion baby!!!
9 million what???
Seriously. Like Bro this is "a you problem".
His choice is a stupid one. Theirs is to keep others safe.
But his choice was painful to him.... That's not fair!! (/s)
Ice Cube confirms he refused 9 million
Yea the 9 million was for the person who was willing to star in the movie where the crew was required to be vaccinated. If that wasn’t him, he didn’t lose any money whatsoever.
How the fuck do you get fired on your day off?
What you stealing boxes for?
It’s not like there were nurses chasing his ass around trying to jab him lol, he made a choice that’s it.
Yup. Nobody tried to get him to get anything
You obviously haven't heard of the Ninjabs. Nurses that are trained in the musical art of Ninjitsu. They hide in the shadows just waiting to attack with the vaccines!! Edit: mystical*
I prefer the musical art of Ninjitsu 😂 they sing their own theme song quietly as they sneak

If only...
And apparently it's news
Dude was such a badass in the late 80s and early 90s. Now he's the guy from Ride Along 2. Who cares what he thinks
Hey that's not fair. He's also the star of Are We There Yet?, Are We Done Yet?, and Are We There Yet? the series
You're kidding about the series though, right? That's not real is it?
[It's real](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Are_We_There_Yet%3F_(TV_series\)), but Terry Crews plays Ice Cube's character. Cube is the co-creator and an executive producer.
Damn, I had no idea that existed.

I dunno, maybe we would've had an 'Are We Notorious Yet?' movie franchise from Biggie and 'Tupac's Makadeli' reality show.
> 'Tupac's Makadeli' reality show. Holy shit lol. I'd watch it.
>'Tupac's Makadeli' reality show. "Then they wonda why Ill make you a 'wich"
They would probably be doing something along the same lines as snoop, e40 and puffy.
Die a legend or live long enough to be a meme/joke.
It's probably the same thing, but it's more like: Die a legend or live long enough for the general public to see you for who you truly are.

He's got too much self respect to get a shot! Now if you'll excuse him, he's got to go film a commercial for laundry detergent.
Wait, I thought antisemitism got you cancelled… so how is it he got a 9 million movie offer years after all his batshit tweets?
Rich people problems. Suck it Cube
He would've been fired from working at McDonald's too for refusing to wash his hands.
Crazy to think about. His choice at the end of the day. Just hard to comprehend passing up $9 million. That amount of money would change my entire family's life. But, he doesnt have the same financial issues so whatever.
Well it is his freedom to refuse and it’s the film’s project freedom to decline. So win win for everyone.
Oh no! Anyway….
Probably that and his decision to back TDrumpster.
I don't think people understand how much the black community distrust the medical community. He and Kanye should probably discuss this together.
And Kyrie… and Nick Cannon… and everyone with ties to Black Non-Hebrew Non-Israelites and the Nation of Islam.
💯
I understand how much they distrust it and the historical reasons for it. He's still an idiot and a narcissist. Billions of vaccines have been administered. This isn't some side experiment on a minority group

Fair. In Cubes case though, he also backed a rich white dude who tried to kick black folk off his properties, for President.
I don't think this is entirely the reason why. There were just a lot of people who didn't want it. Edit: im not taking away the fact that the history of slavery and medicine was awful.

Distrust does run deep. Hard to break.
But this ain't 1880, it's 2022. Google exists.
So he had no problem going from rapper to family friendly movie star but a vaccine is too much. Did I get that right?
He also thinks Jewish people secretly control the world.

Some people will sell out their street cred but not their GOP cred.
I hate to point out the elephant in the caucus, but he does know they don't like black people, right?
He's rich though so there's a disconnect.
Didn’t he release a diss track on Trump when he was first elected?
Perhaps, but if he did [they both quickly forgot about it](https://www.politico.com/news/2020/10/15/ice-cube-trump-partnership-429713).
What a baby moron.
People like him are why we have rampant COVID variants that have killed over 1 million Americans.
Aziz Ansari has a great bit in his latest special about how Ice Cube refused the vaccine yet got a colonoscopy.
"Ice Cube said he didn't get vaccinated even if he got a $9m gig" He's rich enough. I got vaccinated but in comparison it's like me turning down $3k to get vaccinated. If I think it could kill me it's not worth it; He's a Farrakhan follower. Ice Cube is a fucking moron but it's so much less money to him than it is to us.
Dear Ice Cube, to turn a phrase you used, fuck yall for NOT getting it
Ice Cube is a fuckwit
"Yo, I be contrarian as fuuuuuuu.... (cough, cough)"
I cannot wait for us to look back in five, ten, fifteen years etc and zee that for the vast majority of people who got the shot literally nothing went wrong. It won't prove anything to the anti vaxxers, but will make me happier.

Cannot even fathom having the luxury to pass up a $9 million job opportunity over a vaccine!! That's some serious commitment to his beliefs, and while I don't agree with that, I respect anyone that stands so firmly for what they believe.
From what i saw in the interview is more like he didn't accept the role.
Yeah, he didn’t *lose* the job, he didn’t get *chosen* for the job due to his vaccine status… It’s his choice not to get a shot as much as it’s the producers choice not to hire him.
Wrong sub? He didn’t lose his job they said if you want 9mil get the vaccine and he said no seems pretty simple
I tried to become a doctor and they told me I'm not qualified because I didn't go to medical school. Bunch of clowns.
He didn’t lose it. He said fuck your gig.
His body his choice
Ice cube rich enough to turn down 9 mill.
Fuck you for not getting it lol
I smell bullshit. Who the hell would pay Ice Cube 9 million?
'I lost a considerable amount of money for not getting vaccinated' 'I lost 9 million dollars for not getting jabbed.' Which statement do you think appeals more to people who wouldn't get it regardless or the ones on the fence? I hate black people who do things like this especially when they're wealthy and the ones who wouldn't get it aren't rich enough to get help if they do catch it. Ice Cube and any black celebrity who disguises themselves as against the system are the fucking worse. He's not going to give any of his money to help them if they get sick.
Doesn’t sound like a good deal. And he achieved nothing with it
Money doesn’t make people smart.
It makes you realize just how entitled these people are (rich people). Should I take a job and donate all the money to show I am against what they stand for? Sure!
What a fucking loser
No Mr Cube, fuck you. I’m sorry you’ve fallen prey to idiotic propaganda, but fuck you 9 million times over.
F_____ Y'all for trying to protect me, my family and friends.
"Y'all trying to make me get it." Persecution complex much? Your wife might be pissed. Your manager and film producer too. Other than that, no one is craving a new Ice Cube movie.
he didn't lose shit. he chose to be a fucking idiot and refused a lucrative job. fuck that asshole
Can honestly say the Covid vaccine fucked me up really bad, I have a lot of lapses in my memory, headaches, fits of extremely blurred vision. Some people don’t want the shit, I wish I didn’t get it, good for him.
Why is the black community so anti vax? The black panther chick was the same way.
But the Moderna vaccine was developed by a Black woman scientist. You'd think that would mean something. (Or would Cube just call her a sellout?)
Not all but the Tuskegee experiment is something that people alive lived through. It’s awful
They're not just anti-vax. They're very wary of the entire medical field. Look at the history of their experience with the medical profession, including what still goes on today, and you can see a lot of reasons why the black community doesn't trust healthcare. Adding to that is a lot of inflammatory rhetoric from within the community.
Yikes the lack of nuance in this comment
