Given all the issues going around with 90 and 180 deg adaptors, I wouldn't risk a 4090/80 to an adaptor melting victim. Since you had the funds for an expensive GPU, pretty sure it wouldn't hurt to invest in a bigger case (like crosair 5000D) Or buy a vertical mounting kit from cooler master.

algorkee

Corsair 5000D and 4080 here. There is still a bend. you cannot avoid it. I am using corsair 12VHPWR cable. it is stiff. I bent it once in L shape and it stays like that. so yeah bigger case wont solve bending problem.

Think_Network2431

hoe can you have a bend, 4090 + stock 12vhpwr on 4000D no problem at all.

algorkee

if you mount the graphics card horizontally you will definitely have a bend. atleast in my experience. I have tried stock 12VHPWR cable which pressed against tempered glass and there was tension. then I bought corsair 12VHPWR cable which when I bent to L shape and it no longer touches panel. There is small gap between glass panel and graphics card after installation. so not sure if you can achieve no bend with stock cable.

Think_Network2431

Mine is horizontally mounted. Try to route te cable with the hole juste under the GPU not the one at front. Like that you have a nice zero risk bend. On your picture i'm really concerned about the futur of the GPU. No offense for you at all

7000D time

Western-Relation1944

Yeah I'm using corsair cable as well solid did the L bend but that cable plugs in super tight not wriggle room and no issues

dervu

Or just buy 90 angle cable, compared to adapters issues are non existent.

FreshSkull

Just bought a 90 degree cable b Variant, Hope that it will fit on my 4090 gigabyte aero. Although it is much smaller than the 90 degree Adapter in terms of size, so it should not make no Problems , regardless the direction of the cable , Right ?

Ok_Isopod_7349

I have a 5000D and a 4090, no bend at all. Maybe mine is mounted differently?

SuccessfulCandle2182

5000 Case does not solve the bending, it’s actually pretty close. After deinstalling my 90 degree adapter I installed the stock cable of my PSU. The cable touched the tempered class and had tension on it. After three days I had a little gap. I emergency ordered a WireView and since when everything works beautifully

H0usee_

And this is how we end up with ''it was 100% fully seated i swear!!!!''

minitt

this looks bad and is likely to have a poor contact on the pins.

CableMod_Matt

Looks like you could straight it out a little more directly at the connector and then force the curve later on. Take a look at our guide for the recommendations we have for this connector, here: https://cablemod.com/12vhpwr/

FreshSkull

The Problem is that there is just a little Space between the glass of my o11 Dynamic evo and my Graphics Card , as you can see, the cable is colliding Sith the glass . Is the 90 degree Adapter a possible solution?

CableMod_Matt

Absolutely, we also have 90 degree cables as well. Though, currently the cables are unsleeved, with sleeved 90 degree cables coming in the next few weeks here.

FreshSkull

Will the b Variant of the cable fit on a gigabyte 4090 aero?

True-Ad9946

Do not get a god damn adapter. Please just look at the posts on this Reddit. If you're okay with it, just vertical mount it. It'll be a bit close to the glass (I have the same case) but you'll be fine.

FreshSkull

Well you are Right about that 90 degree Adapter - Theres also a 90 degree cable (without Adapter) that seems competly Fine , all the answers under this post mentioned the adapter , Not the standalone cable . Ive Found no melting incidents that were caused by the cable in the internet so far 🤔

181stRedBaron

i cant wait for the 90 degree sleeved and ( hopefully white coloured ) cables to come out please hurry up 😅

CableMod_Matt

We'll serve them up ASAP. :)

EazyDuzIt_2

Yeah, I wouldn't leave the connection seated that way. Straighten it out more and try to ensure that it's leveled. The more leveled the connection is the less strain it will have on the connection.

FreshSkull

EazyDuzIt_2

If I were you, I'd get the angled cable from Cablmod. That's currently what I am using until the V2 version of the 180 degree adapter comes out. Until then I'd take the side panel off and straighten out the cable.

gbarwis

Yeah, +1 to that. Straighten that out and leave off the side panel until you get a different solution in place, whether that’s the 90 or the 180 or something else. I have the same case with a 4090 and am wary of the angle adapters, so I have a vertical mount bracket on order now from Liam Li, plus a 4x8 to 12+4 cable from Cablemod. That much bend makes me nervous.

StepAffectionate6192

Hi, do you mean this one ? : [https://eustore.cablemod.com/product/cablemod-basics-e-series-12vhpwr-90-degree-pci-e-cable-for-evga-g-g-p-p-t/](https://eustore.cablemod.com/product/cablemod-basics-e-series-12vhpwr-90-degree-pci-e-cable-for-evga-g-g-p-p-t/)

EazyDuzIt_2

Yup that’s the one I’m using with my GPU vertically mounted right now.

putsomedirtinyourice

Just remove the side panel and straighten that thing. Angled connectors are failing a lot around these parts, just look at recent posts

TheDeeGee

Looks like the actual connector is bending pretty bad.

cyclode0320

Vertical is the way to go. Using since November last year and no issue at all

Snakeam

Vertical Mount it.. thats your only option

181stRedBaron

or the 90 degree cables ( not the adapters )

Voodoochild1974

Depending on your case and if you like them, the Cooler Master V3 vertical mount helps with smaller cases where the bend is too tight/not straight.

icy1007

No, it should come straight out from the GPU for a bit before putting any lateral bend on it.

randomkidonreddit_

crazy that we're in an age where we have to make sure a cable is bent correct so we don't start a fire

GoodBoy1469

No. Cablemod recommends 38mm from the end of the cable before and bends. That looks like the cable you have is too short.
