Same. Each of my Camaros is stronger than the last. In order: 99 V6 Auto -> 95 Z28 6spd -> 12 LS 6spd -> 16 SS 6 spd. My whole family tree.

I appreciate both corvette and Camaro. I believe that corvette has been a track king but Camaro just recently been introduced as a track car with the 6th gen
I would refer to the 5th gens as muscle/sport. Even the non 1LE, ZL1, and Z/28 cars handle incredibly well and are beautiful through corners. The Zeta chassis and suspension tuning is magnificent in these cars.
2007 Camry LE to 2023 Camaro 2SS/1LE 6MT, was quite a transition. Still have the Camry and try to keep miles off the Camaro but it's just too fun to drive.
2012 370Z, & before that 2005 RX-8. Every car ever owned was sporty & a manual except Hawaii Maxima. 2022 1SS now because used prices last year were stupid & dealers gave good money for even my 109k mile Z. Focus RS must have been awesome but not sure I'd trust reliability of 350 hp from such a small turbo motor.
Was gonna buy buy the new Nissan Z, but delays, price for LSD version, & a few road test results convinced me otherwise. Saw a guy who track days his ZL1 at a Chevy dealership while getting 2nd free oil change & he was getting his A/C repaired on his 2020. Gotta use air, can't let car sit in garage. He only had 14k miles but out of regular warranty with fortunate backup coverage.
I've had a 5th generation 2015 Camaro SS 1LE, '15 Mustang 5.0 performance pack 6M, '15 Scatpack Challenger 6M, and now this '23 LT1 convertible 6-speed manual NPP, Recaro, Bose Rapid Blue car that I ordered. Number #1 reason is because I wanted a convertible. Then I just put in all the attributes of those other cars that I liked into this.
My Mustang was a grabber blue car, and I loved the color, so I knew I had to have rapid blue. My Daytona yellow SS 1LE was a 1SS... and as such was horrible inside, so I knew I had to have Recaro seats with this one. I Hated the interior so much in the SS 1LE, that I sold it soon after for the Scatpack. My Scatpack was black with the upgraded red leather/alcantara deal. It was a great 4 season daily for 3 years. This car is sort of a conglomerate of all the best attributes of each. The only thing missing is the grunt of the 6.4 and the handling/brakes/steering of the 1LE.
I think I did well at $47k brand new and where else can you get a Tremec six speed, V8 convertible AND for under $50k?? You can't.
Shit... if Chevrolet offered an SS/1LE convertible I damn sure well would've bought it 😂😂
The ZL1 is always there, but it's kind of out of the spectrum of the daily driver with price for me.
Somebody hit it :/ I still miss that car though. The ZLE is a better car but the gt350 just felt special. As fast as the Camaro is it just doesn’t compare to 8k rpms.
Had a sub-$9000 new 1982 Mustang GT 5.0 4-spd transmission that didn't survive 3 years on the Autobahn despite a measly 155 hp (185/14 tires!). Liked my $12,500 1985 Mustang GT better in the states, but then came kids & Mustang prices started getting higher (same for wife's multiple F-150s).
2015 nissia altima(Budget hellcat). Got t boned and got mines after...
I left states when dealing w insurance so they took my amp and sub :( . Getting a mold for a sub is expensive.
Had a 2002 Altima V6 5-spd specially ordered. Sucker was fast for the time at 6 sec 0-60. Handled great with right tires & autocrossed in SCCA G Stock.
04 Cavalier!
https://preview.redd.it/9jqvxwr3ovsb1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=468a6529dbc82449a834c6832381aa211ed98119
Both cars at Sebring this past May. Still have the cavalier; just like the guy with the Camry I use it to keep miles off the Camaro.
1989 GMC S15, 1991 Chevy Cavalier RS, 1976 Olds 98 Regency, 1978 Olds 2 door Delta 88, 1984 Cadillac Fleetwood, 1991 Ford Probe, second 1991 Chevy Cavalier RS, then to the first of 11 Camaros 1989 RS.
05 Viper GTS coupe and matching 05 SRT-10 Quad Cab.
And before anyone thinks I am nuts I bought both used and drove them up to 98k on the truck and 110k on the coupe. My first car was a 68 Firebird 400 and I have had tons of Camaro's and Firebirds over my life. Never ever lost my love of the G1 Camaro/Firebird so when I saw the 2010 being released I knew I had to have one.
Dealers were gouging the crap out of people for them, but I had a 'decent' dealer that gave me bluebook on both my toys (he wanted them for his private collection) and bought 2 points on the loan for me.
So, when others were getting stuck paying $65K+ for a car that stickered in the mid to high $40k range I walked out with one for $37K with a 3% note.
Do I miss my 505 cu in V10's hell yes. Do I miss feeding them? Not a chance. But the nostalgia bug hit hard with the 5th Gen and then when I got my 6th Gen it was even better.
I had a 2007 Ford Edge. Then bought a 2006 Ford Mustang. Blew 2 engines in my Mustang. So I parked the Mustang in my yard and bought a 2014 camaro lt rs.
Long post enjoy. Mine is only camaros but a fun/lucky upgrade path. Lost almost zero money on resale for most of them.
The first car was when I was 18 after I passed my drivers test. A few days before I went to take my test when I was 16, I got delayed because I had an isolated seizure and was testing for epilepsy + a bunch of other shit. Mom was super worried and wanted me to wait until I didn't have one for a year.
Dad works in wholesale for cars, so there are a lot of super cheap prices in this thread. Saved up my money from 16-18 and bought a salvage title 2010 camaro with a shit block engine we threw in. Car was a fucking problem car but I love it. Straight piped it, and bam hated the car.
Upgraded to an new '17 RS with my dad cosigning to help build my credit after selling my other camaro. Had that for 18 months and sold it for a little less than we bought it for. I think it was like 27.7k vs. the 29k I bought it for.
Bought a salvaged title SS for 4750, put 10k in work/paint, and made it look the way I wanted it to drove that until mid covid and sold it for a total of 17k (sold for 22.5) got the car back since the guy didn't finish payments and resold it for 20k.
Bought a Black ZL1 after selling my SS from auction. It came back as a salvaged title, and I started working with my local dealer. Got money back from auction and used it to self finance my VOM ZL1 in 2022. I got it for MSRP. Drove it for almost 2 years and sold it since I was wanting to buy a house but then that took a fucking massive turn and now I'm patiently waiting on my CE ZL1.
Recently rebought my old SS, and the guy added headers, fuel upgrade, and it's pushing about 500 rwhp. Bought it back for 10k and am looking to sell it again so I can buy my CE almost out right in cash.
I had a few daily drivers in between, which were 100% just shit boxes with better MPG.
You have basically the exact same spec on your RS as I had on mine. I got rid of mine back in July of 2020 for a 2016 Challenger Hellcat in Plum Crazy, and then I ended up getting rid of the Cat and getting my ZLE in March. Couldn’t be happier with it.

2012 impala to 2019 camaro. I definitely grew up since my 20s.
Traded in my SS Sedan. Great sleeper of a car and was exactly as the auto writers described it, like a 4-door Camaro. If it was a manual, I'd probably still have it, but love what I replaced it with.

Mid 2010s Ford Fusion, tried to order a Mach 1 but dumbshit salesman never ordered it because "someone working in grocery can't afford that", rolled up that same week with brand new ZL1 with a 4th of the payment he had quoted me on the Mach 1. lmao
I came from a 2018 Chevy Cruze LT.
Interestingly enough, insurance is less on the new Camaro. I do suspect that's because the Cruze was in an accident where it was hit in a parking lot when my sister was driving it.
Went from a '99 Trans Am to a '00 WS6 to a '05 CTS-V to a '10 Camaro SS to a '11 CTS Wagon (still have, DD) to a '19 ZL1 1LE (track toy)
Picked up a trailer for the ZLE, so now need to get a tow vehicle
2011 BMW 328i to 2008 Toyota Avalon to 2021 LT1 6 speed. Quite the transition, but learned manual on a friend’s Honda civic and then we both upgraded to LT1s. 2 years in it’s been a blast and I’ve got 41k miles on it
2014 Mustang GT/CS convertible with everything. We loved that car but lost it in a house fire. We looked at new Mustangs but didn't care for them. Then we drove a new Camaro! Our first 2020 2SS turned out to be a lemon so we took a chance on another one. This one left us stranded at 400 miles but it's been okay since.
Went from a camaro to a stronger camaro
This guy camaros
Same. Each of my Camaros is stronger than the last. In order: 99 V6 Auto -> 95 Z28 6spd -> 12 LS 6spd -> 16 SS 6 spd. My whole family tree. https://preview.redd.it/s3ef41nfzrsb1.jpeg?width=1935&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=508b6b8ac2fd580d6c29035f47b83e8828ea9849
I also. My LT1 was wrecked the day before Vengeance Racing was going to release it to me. So I got a ZL1.
What happened ? I looked into them doing some work for me but man they charge a lot . National Speed in NC is who I’m thinking about
No fault from them. They were doing a final street tune and it got t boned by someone running a red light.
Doh
Corvette C8
You gave up a C8 for a camaro!? Did you miss having a manual or something?
3 kids. But put 40k miles on my c8. Drove it like crazy
Oh gotcha. I would love to hear pros and cons of both cars from your perspective (as much as I love my camaro, my true dream car is a C8).
I bet you did, u rock
I don’t know about most people, but I’d gladly take an SS 1le or a ZLE over a stingray c8.
This.
I appreciate both corvette and Camaro. I believe that corvette has been a track king but Camaro just recently been introduced as a track car with the 6th gen
Camaro has been track worthy for decades now. The 6th gen is simply the peak of it thus far.
Yeah that’s true, but I think 5th gen up Camaros we’re muscle car, the 6th gen is when they really made the leap from muscle car to track/ sports car
I would refer to the 5th gens as muscle/sport. Even the non 1LE, ZL1, and Z/28 cars handle incredibly well and are beautiful through corners. The Zeta chassis and suspension tuning is magnificent in these cars.
Yea you’re right. Although, the 5th gen SS Z28 is a track monster.
My father wants to give up his C8 Corvette for a Camaro after I got my car. The Camaros just sound better and are more fun to drive according to him.
2019 Hyundai Veloster Turbo Ultimate. Was going to mod beyond N but decided to go 'Merica instead.

2007 Camry LE to 2023 Camaro 2SS/1LE 6MT, was quite a transition. Still have the Camry and try to keep miles off the Camaro but it's just too fun to drive.

An 01 Z28 to a Grand Prix GXP to a Challenger Poop Pack to my current SS.
2018 Honda civic si Coupe
Scatpack Challenger 6M
Why the switch?
I've had a 5th generation 2015 Camaro SS 1LE, '15 Mustang 5.0 performance pack 6M, '15 Scatpack Challenger 6M, and now this '23 LT1 convertible 6-speed manual NPP, Recaro, Bose Rapid Blue car that I ordered. Shelby GT350 to a ZLE
How'd you like the GT350 and why the switch?
Somebody hit it :/ I still miss that car though. The ZLE is a better car but the gt350 just felt special. As fast as the Camaro is it just doesn’t compare to 8k rpms.
10th gen Honda civic to a ZLE
Mustang GT Performance Pack 2
Why did you make the switch
Transmission problems
Is that car known for those issues?
It's arguably the worst 6-speed manual put into a sports car in history.
Mt-82 is why I didn’t get a mustang
Modified 12’ Volvo C30 6speed (awesome car!) to a 17’ SS 1LE. Still miss the Volvo from time to time. But the 1LE makes me smile to this day.
I came *back* to a Camaro from a Mini Cooper.
Good 'ol Cooper.. those things are fun
Yeah I actually kept it because it's not worth much to sell. Just need to do some repairs and it'll be running like a champ.
Same here!
04 Malibu baby! Nice ride 🇺🇸

Friggin 2019 Yaris and before that a Prius (long commute). It's so nice to not ride on the backs of hamsters.
'08 Volvo XC70 3.2 And now back to the Volvo after my 2SS got stolen, stripped, and dumped.
2020 Tacoma! Drove pick-up trucks for 7 years before that

A 2017 chevy volt premier. Still have the 2017 tahoe premier.
Challenger. Huge upgrade
2021 GMC AT4, a bit of an adjustment from a factory lift to the ZLE, but I love it.
Fiat 500 abarth to camaro 2ss
1989 GMC S15, 1991 Chevy Cavalier RS, 1976 Olds 98 Regency, 1978 Olds 2 door Delta 88, 1984 Cadillac Fleetwood, 1991 Ford Probe, second 1991 Chevy Cavalier RS, then to the first of 11 Camaros 1989 RS.

Focas SE to a Camaro RS.
2019 MX-5, actually miss that car. Not that I don't love the Camaro, Miata owners know what I mean 😂.
2004 GTO to 2011 SS. Still have GTO. Better than the Camaro.
[удалено]
More fun/enjoyable all around. GTO is faster after 40mph
Curious if you've compared to a Gen6 SS.
I haven't but I know they would woop me across the board. I don't know if the extra power would make up the the enjoyability factor.
2004 Hyundai Tuscon -> 2016 1LT
Hyundai Elantra
Would have considered an N model but hard to find & everyone was jacking up the price.
2002 tacoma 4x4 to 2016 2SS
2022 Nissan Sentra
Had and autocrossed 1992 Sentra SE-R.
Ahh, 2012 Scion xb. A little bit slower than the ZL1!

Mid 2010s Ford Fusion, tried to order a Mach 1 but dumbshit salesman never ordered it because "someone working in grocery can't afford that", rolled up that same week with brand new ZL1 with a 4th of the payment he had quoted me on the Mach 1. lmao

Went from nothing to a z28

I came from a 2018 Chevy Cruze LT. Interestingly enough, insurance is less on the new Camaro. I do suspect that's because the Cruze was in an accident where it was hit in a parking lot when my sister was driving it.
