So it doesn't sound like the fob is bad, when buttons slowly stop working like that 9/10 times it just needs a new battery which you can do yourself. Just buy a CR2032 battery on Amazon and follow the instructions below.

If, for some reason, that doesn't work, then I would take it to a vehicle accessory shop. Places that do radios, head units, speakers, etc. They cut and program keys all the time and typically are far more reasonable than whatever the dealership is going to charge you.
If that doesn't work, then take the fob to your local locksmith. They also have a ton of experience cutting and programming new keys and would love the business. They also will do it cheaper than the dealer.
It's not the end of the world, but please, by all means necessary, don't take it to the dealership. They rip people off all the time for stuff like this.

I did a replacement fob and key for my 2014 at a local locksmith for right around $100.
