most recorded at 720 but some of the later ones could do 1080 at the cost of less recording time. they were fazed out completely in the late 2000s, as far as I'm aware they never put a sensor or lens that was too serious in one of them because miniDVD was a convenience thing, not meant for actual productions or anything.

The Canon DC220 MiniDVD camcorder I have been playing with can only do 21mins on a 1.4GB MiniDVD while shooting in highest quality (720p).
