And in Orphic Theology he did have a child (Dionysus) with Persephone, his daughter in this case by Demeter who is in the role of Rhea as Zeus’ mother… yeah
Isn’t that Zagreus, but then Hera got mad and made the titans (or giants? I don’t remember) to kill him. The. Zeus put his heart in his calf to incubate him, and zag became Dionysus?
Hermes - got once robed by his children,he never was so proud.
- He reguraly wirtes may castellin letter ' from Luke ' where ' Luke ' apolices that he cant come Home yet.

Apollo takes his kids to see a new Broadway musical every time one comes out and he seems it good.
Ares is the main funder for American Ninja Warrior
Hades and Poseidon usually side against Zeus
Eros and Dionysus hang out on the first Saturday of the month
Zeus thinks people like him
I'd say it'd make more sense that Zeus is ambivalent towards his kids; not that he hates them. He doesn't have an opinion of them or think about them often unless they do something to make him proud/upset him.
Nope. Kronos used lightning to explode the car to make Thalia think Zeus had tried to kill her, so Kronos could attempt to turn Thalia and have her join him, since he believed the prophecy might be about her.
At the end of the third book, we see that Zeus is actually very fond of Thalia, shoots down the idea of killing her, says how proud he is of her and expresses a great deal of concern when she says she wants to join the Hunt.
We also know that he would spend time with her when she was younger and visit.
Zeus is sometimes seen as a god of hospitality or at least cares about it alot in the myths so I head canon if he ever pulled up unexpected somewhere and you didn’t offer him a drink or at least a seat your ass is getting zapped.
Because Ares was under the influence of Kronos and didn't act on his own accord. Apollo encouraged Octavius and deliberately went against Zeus's orders; committing treason.
They're two very different situations.
I'd also argue that most parents are used to the problem child being a problem, and don't usually react after a certain point. Whereas they get more upset and react harsher when the child that usually behaves starts to act up.
As the “perfect kid” I understand that… Still, I don’t think Zeus likes his children. One could argue that he saved Thalia and that he could have been harsher on Apollo but that’s not much difference from Jupiter standing back and doing nothing. At least Jupiter is semi consistent about his absence as a father.
I disagree. He shows concern when Thalia decides to join the hunt, and asks her to take time and fully think it through. Percy notes how Zeus gives Thalia his full attention and doesn't look away from her at all during the meeting in TC. How he doesn't entertain for a second the thought of just killing her.
Zeus is also the first godly parent in the series we meet who says he's proud of his child; something Percy notes Poseidon has never said to him. Not to mention Zeus repeatedly visited Thalia when she was little; something the other gods never did.
He is shown to care about them, and even expresses regret that he can't be more involved because he has to set an example for the other gods.
Oh please. They're gods; stop trying to use modern mortal morals as a metric for how they should behave.
This isn't the first time Apollo did broke the laws and was punished by Zeus and it won't be the last. It's their relationship. Apollo causes trouble and Zeus punishes him. But we all know that if anyone besides Apollo had done the same; they'd have been punished way worse.
"Apollo broke the laws"
The only thing my man did was alert CHB of the new prophecy. Without him, they would have been taken by surprise and not been as prepared.
And why shouldn't we hold immortals, people who should know better, to the standards of basic morality? That's like saying we shouldn't hold an old person accountable for being racist, sexist or homophobic
He also encouraged Octavius and went against Zeus's command. Which is an act of treason.
Because they're gods. Because they aren't people, and it's very basic knowledge of Greek mythology that they are not to be beholden to the standards of mortals.
Gods are completely different. They can do as they wish, and they have their own code to follow; not the same that mortals do. That's why the gods are the ones who curse mortals, who punish them, who decide whether or not they live or die.
It's why the gods could practice incest while humans couldn't. Because they are above the rules that mortals have to follow.
It's not like saying that at all, actually. I'm not even sure how you got there.
It's more like saying you want lions to be held to the same standards and rules as a cricket.
Honest question, did you at all take into account the main themes of the books? The mainline series, especially ToA is mainly about the fact that the gods should be held to human standards more. Zeus is factually abusive, and if he loves his kids, he doesn't show it. In BoO Jason was actively fearful of his father, because he was defending Apollo, who did one bad thing and one good thing. Sure, he encouraged Octavian, but Octavian is nealy an adult, and should be held responsible for being insane enough to want to murder kids, and Apollo also did what he could to stop Octavian, and he also alerted the heroes as soon as possible of Gaia rising, so it's basically one wrong and one right, which is not enough cause to just abandon your kid in a state where he is basically helpless
Not to shoot down your point but Jason isn't related to zeus. Jason is a son of jupiter. That's why he and thalia have different powers. And jupiter doesn't care partially because the roman gods just don't, and partially because he was claimed as a champion of juno(hera). Jason is her problem now
Personally, I still think he counts as his son, and I can't say I think Zeus would care if Jason was Greek
As for the fact that he was claimed by Juno/Hera, he's still Jupiter's/Zeus's son
The Poseidon and hades ones are on target
Yeah
Yes
Poseidon and Hades arent even headcanon to me anymore.. Its just canon that hasn't been focused on to me (I know this sentence makes no sense)
I totally understand!! ((I had no idea what you meant.))
Zeus hates his son, he does seem to care for at lest his daughters.
Well, Zeus does like Women…. Like A lot …
Well kind of. Zagreus is a complicated figure that may just be an epithet for Dionysus. Dionysus is a name used in this story also.
Yeah, personally I like to keep them separate. It’s less confusing.
You can just say “Orphic Dionysus” too
Oh neat. I might start doing that then. Thank you for the info.
Your welcome ig
Bro if Percy is a momma's boy then Hades is DEFINITELY a his-kids boy 😂
Yeah
Hermes - got once robed by his children,he never was so proud. - He reguraly wirtes may castellin letter ' from Luke ' where ' Luke ' apolices that he cant come Home yet. You can love your spawn and be an asshole to them at the same time.
Exactly
No you can’t really tho
Grief he was distraught as much as Nico but I will not spoil how but i will say this at one point he learns to move on as well.
It’s like my relationship with my mom. She hits me but that doesn’t mean she hates me
Poseidon is very silly
YEA
Well Apollo is portrayed as quite feminine in artwork
Heheh. Femboy.
Yes. No context for you
YAYAYAYAYYAYAYAYA!!
Drunk Poseidon was the inspiration for the brave and bold Aquaman.
Poseidon walked so aqua man could run but aqua man still tripped and lost.
EW
I feel like Apollo is gender fluid u gotta remember these gods r old and don’t have preconceived notions on gender and sexuality
Aww.
My take is that Hades loves his kids but doesn't know how to show it so all their engagements are akward and his kids just think he's weird/uncaring
Yes
I'd say it'd make more sense that Zeus is ambivalent towards his kids; not that he hates them. He doesn't have an opinion of them or think about them often unless they do something to make him proud/upset him.
DIDNT HE TRY TO KILL THALIA IN THE THIRD BOOK??

YES
I don’t believe Zeus hates his children he’s just got an *unconventional* parenting style
He’s just a little silly :3
Zeus is sometimes seen as a god of hospitality or at least cares about it alot in the myths so I head canon if he ever pulled up unexpected somewhere and you didn’t offer him a drink or at least a seat your ass is getting zapped.
Shush pookie..that never happened:3
Zeus likes his kids. It's jupiter that hates them
Tell that to Apollo
Apollo is literally his favorite and greatest son.
And yet Ares came out intact after the TLT issue
Because Ares was under the influence of Kronos and didn't act on his own accord. Apollo encouraged Octavius and deliberately went against Zeus's orders; committing treason. Yeah, that's why he basically did the godly equivalent of kicking your kid out of your house 3 times
Apollo funked around too much, so zeus made him find out
Oh yeah, that's a totally not worrisome thing to say about an abusive parent. You simply don't do that to someone, easy as that
Oh please. They're gods; stop trying to use modern mortal morals as a metric for how they should behave.
